Anyone know where to buy shoes?

I appreciate your agreement about where to buy quality bowling shows. I have always purchased mine from pro shops, not only to support small businesses but also for the quality.

Only one time did I buy from Kmart and that was merely to get me through a couple of weeks until I could buy a pair from a local pro shop. Terrible experience. As mentioned before, same sole on both shoes so had no gripping ability on my non-sliding show. Then they fell apart after a short time. For $30 or so should I have expected anything different?

Use a pro shop where if there is a problem with the shoes you can easily return them.

I agree to caution purchasing products from stores like Wal-Mart or Amazon. Speak with your local pro shop operator as they can recommend an ideal pair of bowling shoes.

Use a search engine -- Google, Dogpile, etc. -- and search for bowling shoes. I am a strong supporter of my local pro shop where I can try on different shoes and different sizes versus ordering online and maybe not having them fit. Go to a shoe store such as Sports Authority or Walmart and use their shoe fitting device, the metal thing you put your feet on that has slides on the sides to judge your foot width. With that info go to a pro shop if there's one in your area and try some on. If there is no shop close by then you'll still have your foot length and width if you order online.

I caution anyone not to buy bowling shoes from places like Kmart, Walmart, Sears, etc., because they typically have the same soles on both shoes since they don't sell specifically to left-handers or right-handers. In order to slide properly we need a leather sole on our sliding shoe and rubber on our non-sliding shoe and those sold at mass market stores do not have those.

One exception is to buy from a Kmart type store and have a shoe repair person change the sliding sole to a fitted leather one.

Back home we had some good deals on games, but its always cheaper if you have your own shoes. I used to have some, but they got lost in the many moves.
Does anyone know a good website I can order from?
