Just curious if you have ever tried Monkfruit sweetner by Lankanto ??????????

I use a little of it on my Oatmeal and it has no aftertaste and is recommended for those
on Keto ................

Got it at Walmart in the aisle where Stevia etc. is................Every sweetner my husband
has ever tried gives me a headache but this doesn't bother me.

Let me know what you think if you try it. I use creamer but no sugar in coffee/no can do
black coffee...

I like my coffee and have drank it with cream and white sugar for YEARS. Now I use almond milk for my "creamer" and a bit of honey (1/4 tsp). It's just enough. I have a hard time with black coffee so I don't think I will go that route. I've seen mushroom coffee available but haven't tried it. In the big scheme of things, coffee is low cal. Unless you have hypertension or are prone to migraines, it won't make a huge difference unless you're using lots of sugar in it.

I see a lot of posts about cinnamon...just might have to give it a try. Thanks everyone!

I used to use 3 heaping spoons of sugar in my coffee, but I have gradually taken that down to 2 tsp (measured). I tried less, and I just couldn't stand it. I've had no luck with any of the artificial sweeteners, either.

I've thought about using a tsp of chocolate protein powder, but haven't worked up the courage as of yet. Maybe tomorrow.

I add powdered cinnamon to my coffee grounds before brewing. Then I add unsweetened almond milk and splenda to the brewed coffee.

I don't like plain coffee, without chocolate..... I've tried just about everything I can think of, and here's what I start my day with, along with a protein for breakfast.

1 packet of Nestle hot chocolate rich milk chocolate;
calories 80
carbs 14

It takes care of my chocolate fix

I put a dash of heavy whipping cream in my coffee. So not black.

I used to put stevia in it. Yes, not quite like sugar. If your sweetener doesn't taste good, that is telling you something. On the other hand, besides cream, I still sometimes add a small squirt of Mio. Yes, it is more like a strange specialty coffee with cherry flavour (or something like that).

Hi All, I use Truvia in my coffee, I also use fat free half & half. Can't seem to drink it without.
I have used other sweeteners, but for me Truvia leaves no taste for me.

I have one cup of coffee with breakfast.

I have 1-2 teaspoons of raw brown sugar with it, and I track it.

It really doesn't amount to very much, either in calories or carbs, particularly since the rest of the day I only have water.

And no, I'm not using ANY of those sugar substitutes. They all taste horrible and several of them are carcinogenic.

I've been having the same worries, though I've honestly still been using the teaspoon of sugar.

I can't drink it black, and, to me, all artificial sweeteners taste absolutely horrible. The only one that I could stand (in the past) was Equal, but that's full of chemicals and I haven't used it in years. The "all natural" artificial sweeteners out there... no go. I wasted 15 dollars just to try Stevia. Even my husband was like, um...yuck, no.

I say just use a small amount of sugar, and then use less sugar somewhere else. A little milk and 1tsp of sugar is what I have to have in coffee, or I just can't touch it. For tea...sometimes I need nothing but a quarter tsp of honey, sometimes a touch of milk.

Maybe I'll just switch to tea...

Never give up; never stop trying.

A good amount of heavy cream (I use up to 1/4 cup sometimes) makes it taste wonderful. I only have decaf, though, because regular raises blood sugar. This is why caffeine is effective in giving us energy.

Try a cinnamon stick in your coffee or a sprinkle of powdered cinnamon. Cinnamon Helps Type 2 Diabetes .....Also Helps Cholesterol....cinnamon, cloves, bay leaves, and turmeric have all shown promise in enhancing insulin's action.

Cinnamon is proven to lower levels of blood sugar and fat storage...it's the best belly-fighting antioxidant (Phenol) cinnamon might improve both cholesterol and cinnamon might improve cholesterol.

I find that the problem with sweeteners is they are much sweeter than sugar, so I packet for 8 oz coffee is too much. I use 1 stevia packet for 16-20 oz and it's fine. Or for a single cup I use 1/2 packet.

I switched to Organic Soy Creamer, by Organic Valley. It has a little sugar in it but 1 Tbsp only has 3 carbs, so I quit using my tsp of sugar to make up for that. When I have tea, I don't use creamer but I use 1/2 a packet of Stevia In The Raw. Not crazy about the taste but it isn't full of chemicals, like all the other sweeteners. No carbs for a packet and I use only half.

If you like flavored coffees, you could try sugar-free Torani syrups. They come in all kinds of flavors. They're made with Splenda.

Another option: My husband likes to shake a little cinnamon into the coffee grounds before brewing it, and drink it black. It's worth a shot, and the cinnamon *might* help with blood sugar control. (I'm a little skeptical, but there are probably some useful micronutrients in in anyway!)

Hi,

I'm working on this same issue. First off, I think most artificial sweeteners taste salty or like chemicals and at least one literally makes me physically sick. Secondly, I love flavored coffee so this pretty much only applies to that.

I'm having luck substituting all the 2% milk/sugar/creamer with a serving of chocolate almond milk. (Kroger's Simple Truth brand.) I think the nutrition tracker said I cut my calories in half and lowered carbs and fat by a lot. And, it's still drinkable for me. It's not as sweet-tasting but also doesn't have that bite that the artificial sweeteners give. Once a week I'm allowing a cup made like above but with a single serving of a flavored creamer factored in.

Good luck!

Remember that you still must have carbs in your diet. If you can't find a suitable substitute, use the sugar just limit in another area.

I know exactly how you feel. We have used Slpenda Blend for years now we can't find it in any of the stores in a 4-state area. I'm trying just Splenda, not used to it yet, trying to find the right balance between just enough and uh-oh there's the after taste. Tried Truvia, Sweet Leaf, Nuctresse and haven't had any luck. Since I only use it in my coffee in the morning, I'm thinking of going back to sugar.

If you find something that works for you, please let us know.

Every sugar substitute that I've tried has left a nasty aftertaste in my mouth, I just can't drink it that way, nor have I been able to switch to black coffee. Help!
