Hubby just left for Cars and Coffee. I will be off to my Barre class soon. Got everything ready for our grocery shopping trip so we will see what the day holds of us. Still need to get over to Best Buy but this is for hubby. So we will see what he wants to do. No gym visit yesterday and he said he wants to go today so that will probably happen. Supposedly our last day of sunshine. We are in for a couple of days of rain. Then back comes the sun! emoticon

Kat ~ I always bring my jump rope and my small exercise bands. There are so many things you can do to stay active wherever you are. You just need to make that choice! Food can be a whole other issue. Make the best choices you can at the time. And balance that with enjoying your vacation. So easy, right? emoticon

Paula ~ Awesome advice and a great refresher for the rest of us. emoticon

Off to have some oatmeal and raspberries before class.

It's 4.23pm here Saturday in Australia and I've had an extra busy day so far only just came home been out since 7am. Am going out shortly again to my dad's place for dinner. But just wanted to stop in and say Hi to everyone Hope you are having an awesome weekend so far or at least awesome start to it.

emoticon emoticon

emoticon REENY2 how do you start you ask? Well I would start with:

1. Making sure you Track and I mean track accurately(weighing your food correct portion sizes etc.)

2. Try using only your daily allowance, unless you really need to use some of your weekly for a special occaision or some such.

3. Don't over do it with exercise. I recommend doing just 10 minutes each and every day and something simple like walking. Or if you have limited mobility try seated chair exercises or pool exercises can be very good. There are lots of free exercises video's here on Sparkpeople or on UTUBE so you don't need to join an expensive gym to get your exercise in daily. If you can easily do more than 10 minutes daily try for 1/2 an hour each day. but do something at least.

4. Cut out the soda / soft drink even the diet ones they are really bad for you.

5. Make sure you are getting enough sleep 7 - 8 hours is optimal if you can get it.

6. Drink plenty of fresh water at least 7 - 8 glasses each and every day.

7. Eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables.

8. Lessen the amount of carbs you eat.

These are just some things you could try. But you need to do what will work for you. You can do it I am sure you've made a start by coming to sparkpeople and this awesome team so that's a good thing. Hope some of these suggestions are what you were after. Good luck! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Anyhow I must head out the door again I am running late hopefully TTYL

Keep smiling, Paula

Terri, that's great that your husband is exercising with you!

I'm on vacation and going away next week. We leave on Monday, so hopefully they are wrong about the predicted snowstorm!

I'm already planning how to survive my trip without gaining while I am away. Vacations can be such a challenge when you are trying to lose weight.

Had a great exercise day yesterday. Hubby surprised me with a 2.5 mile walk at our local park and then to the gym. This was after I had walked to and from my 45 minute circuit training class. Got in over 16K steps yesterday. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon We also went to Costco and picked up a few things (yeah, like you can pick up a few things there). Today I have my trainer (had to change to Friday for the next few weeks) and then my WW meeting. Still need to get my meal plan together and do a little more grocery shopping to round out the Costco trip. And we really need to get to Best Buy to pick up hubby his Kindle and new MP3 player. He just doesnít get along with our old Nano.

Wanda ~ You know where you are. That is the important thing. emoticon Have fun with your storage project. We will be there soon.

Nell ~ I really want to go through this stuff thoroughly. My hubby has a bit of a different view. He really hates getting rid of anything. I am looking forward to minimizing as much as I can. emoticon

Paula ~ Right behind you on the grocery/clean out task. emoticon

Kat ~ Nice job. Keep it up. emoticon

Reeney2 ~ One day at a time. One meal at a time. One walk at a time. emoticon emoticon emoticon

All you snow people out there, glad it is you and not me. We have some rain coming in for the weekend.

Not sure what breakfast entails today. Maybe an egg white omelet since my trainer isnít until 10:45.

Thanks, Paula! The chances of rain have now increased from 0% to 50%, and they're even calling for SNOW on Monday!!!

Dentist appointment today. One of my teeth needs a crown. just in time, too - I just paid off my credit card!

And, to top it off, one of the ladies in my church crochet group is not doing well, and may only live a few more days.

Kinda bummed, gonna drown my sorrows and binge watch NCIS

So far, WW and SP are working well for me! I realize it's just the beginning loss we all see, and that it will slow down, but I am loving seeing the pounds disappear. Can't wait to get back out of the 200's. Took two walks today, and heading out for a 3rd. You have to move it to lose it!

Terri, I have found that when it comes to moving, you always have more stuff than you think you do, and it always takes longer than you think it will. And when it's all over, you'll feel better than you can imagine!

Good Morning all!! WI at the WW meeting day today... hope I can maintain the loss I saw this morning through till the mid-day meeting! I've updated my weight on the app. The morning weight is more consistent, since I weigh in the morning before I eat anything, and there is no variable of clothing and meals/drinks before weigh-in.

I think the strange days have passed. All seems back to normal. We received the bids on the paint and associated work that we are doing on the house emoticon before we list it to sell so now it is time to get a storage unit and get the house cleaned out. This really may happen. Not that I had my doubts. It has just taken longer that I expected. But hubby is on board now so away we go.

Today is a housekeeper day so when I get back from my circuit training class the house will be all clean. I emoticon these days! Didnít do any house stuff yesterday (no meal planning or any shopping at all). But had quite the day at the gym. We will se how hubby feels today or if he will be all gung ho working on the house. He has a garage to clean outÖ..

Sandy ~ Hope Tiffany feels better soon. emoticon

Paula ~ That trial sounds very interesting. I would definitely be interested if they have it over here. Keep us posted on the cost. And emoticon on your Garmin. Nice that you can wear it during your aqua workout. I would love it if my Fitbit was waterproof.

Again the weather is very nice here so I will be able to walk to my circuit training class. Not sure about breakfast yetÖ..

Day 1 with my Garmin and loving it thus far.

Did my 45 minute aqua aerobics class today. tonight walking is difficult without a bit of pain.May have overdone the exercise for my hips. So pleased after my busy day to able to sit down. I don't take pain killers unless it is unbearable when in pain I just sit. Going to have a nice shower and get to bed early tonight and rest my hips.

Have a great night all emoticon

Hi All shopping trip was awesome.

I ended up buying a Garmin Vivofit HR. Set it up last night and synced it to SP and it automatically joined me to the Garmin team on here which I found out about this morning lol I don't want to join any more teams as I don't have the time to devote to any more teams. if I joined more teams as good as they may be I would not be able to be active at all in them and it would not be fair to those teams or team leaders. So I promptly left that team.

Weighed in yesterday at WW meeting stayed the same 54.1 kilos so now I have some figureing out to do as to why I did not loose. I thought I had done everything right I tracked every day.

What I think must have been wrong was the fact that perhaps I did not accurately enough work out my portion sizes. That's definitely something I have to work on. I do have the weight watchers new Smart Points Scales so I really have to make the time to use them properly. Well that's what I am to work on this week and see if that makes any changes on the scales.

I have done this week and last week more exercise than I've ever done two 45 minute aqua aerobic classes and seated upper body exercise for 10 mins so it's not being sedentary that is causing it. i make sure I do no less than 3000 steps per day also for this reason. Unless of course my hips are really giving me trouble on a particular day. but since taking all the natural health supplements I take I've been a lot better.

What I really like about the Garmin it is fully water proof so I can wear it at my aqua classes which will be great!

At our meeting yesterday we found out that our meeting was one of a select few in our country not sure if it is rolling out trails all round the world or not. But WW here have teamed up with our "Aussie Farmers Direct". Which is an Australian company online where you can order fresh meat, chicken, fruit and vegetables, some dairy and bread. What they do is they guarantee to have items you order online or over the phone delivered to you fresh within 72 hours of the produce etc.. coming direct from the farm and they only supply Australian meats and produce etc.. where possible from your local area.

What WW here anyhow is trailing is supplying you a box of stuff with a menu card to make 5 main meals for the week. Two different prices one price with the menu plan and grocery items that you make the meals from yourself for 2 people and another price for making the meals for family of 4 people. At this stage our coach said as they are only trailing it to see how it goes you can't pick and choose which meals you want to add it is a set menu just to see how it goes. If successful you'll be able to customize what meals you want in your box

.Each meal you make will be the correct amount of portion sizes for the amount of people either 2 people or 4 people with all the smart points worked out.

It may be quite good. For me our family would not eat any of meals in this weeks box and my husband and son being big eaters would eat more than the correct portion sizes so for them the amounts would not be enough I'd need two boxes lol

What I have decided to do is seeing as I have heard of Aussie Farmers direct before I thought I would go through the process online of pretending to order meat, dairy, fruit and vegetables just see how much a weekly order would come to. They offer free delivery apparently. Then I would do the same here on our Coles and Woolworths online sites and compare and see how much difference in price there is. If it's not much difference I might just give it a try one week. especially knowing that it is locally sourced products and fresh to you from the farm with in 72 hours. much better than apples from Woolworths that have been in cold storage for nearly 2 years etc...

They other great thing our coach said they trialed some fruit and vegies and meat and milk and left it in the boxes it comes delivered in which has gel packs and other stuff in it. What the coaches did was leave the stuff in the boxes in their car park in 40 degree Australian heat for 8 hours and the produce, meat etc... was still fine and cold.

So if the prices work out not to bad i might consider giving it ago as the stuff has to be fresher than the supermarket. Hopefully the meat will be Grass feed as I only buy Grass Feed I also hope the taste will be nice if I opt to try it out.

Anyhow I had best get off the computer and start working out my menu plan for the week and my grocery shopping list as tomorrow is my shopping day.

Have a great day all. Sorry I if have rambled too long just wanted to let you all know lol

Having a strange couple of days. Nothing really wrong just strange. emoticon Hope today is back into my routine. It looks like we will be staying home unless hubby surprises me and says letís go. That is totally fine with me. I do need to get a meal plan together and shopping list. We also want to go to Best Buy and Costco. Maybe one of those this afternoon. I have my TRX class this morning and maybe a gym visit. I know hubby wants to go but he may go while I am at TRX.

Sandy ~ Busy morning for you. Nice to see your walks emoticon are feeling good.

Paula ~ My tracking is lacking! How was your shopping trip? emoticon

Good Morning all! Just wanted to check in. Feeling good, staying on plan for the most part. Now... what to do with the Chocolate covered Peanut butter pretzels that I bought for a fundraiser for a daughter of a co-worker who is a cheerleader...... hm... I think I see these going in the community kitchen at work! I will save ONE, tho... to have after WI tomorrow at the meeting. 3 pieces is 210 calories, so one is only 70. yesterday, I had ONE GS cookie (32 cals) first one I've had in probably 2 years, and it wasn't even my favorite flavor!

For me today I stayed the same as last week at weigh in 54.1 kilo's have to work on why and fix that this week. Will do some really good figuring out and change that for sure. there are others at WW doing a lot better than me so I really have to lift my game. lol But I can do it. I just have to work out where I went wrong or are going wrong and change that.

I can do that though as I do like a challenge.

i'm off out the door again now down the Gold Coast for my afternoon of shopping before the airport. going to check out the Garmin Pedometers. I really miss not knowing how many steps I am doing in a day. I like to make sure that I'm doing at least 3000 or else I feel to sedentary. LOL

Have a great rest of your day or night all emoticon emoticon emoticon

Nell I am not sure about the Garmin's being satellite or not> But will check all that out today.

Wanda thanks for that information re Fitbit will have a think about it for sure.

Terri thanks for the positive vibes re weighing in today. I think I've done alright I've exercised 3 times this week and kept to the points only used a few weekly points once when we had visitors over and I expected that so hoping the scales will be good to me today. But if not i'll try harder this week so all is good.

Heading out down to the Gold coast after WW meeting today to a large shopping centre for the afternoon then picking up my dad and his wife from the Gold Coast Airport they arrive back from Auckland New Zealand at 6pm tonight.

Talk to you all later tonight perhaps have a great day all emoticon

Just checking in with all of you. Well the kids in school and hubby sleeping still. So the house is quiet. Just me and the animals that up lol. Already feed the cats, bunnies, dogs, turtle. Sweep the floors and took out the trash even. So my morning was busy. Now just relaxing and having some coffee. The kids come home early today as it a min day.
Yesterday I did a one mile walk and it felt good being able to walk again without getting tired or out of breath. I am hoping to have a better out look on the scale this week. I been watching what I eat and drink and being more active so we see. Well better get off of here as I have a bunch of stuff to do. Happy Tuesday guys.

Brought Dad home yesterday about 5:00 PM. It was another long day. Good thing is he is home safe and sound. He did have a stroke but at this time there doesnít appear to be any lasting damage. Not sure if we are going to the ocean this week. Things are still a bit unsettled. emoticon

I did my own workout at home yesterday. Must have pushed myself as I am feeling it today. emoticon Not in a bad way but feeling it! Today is my circuit training class and hopefully a cardio gym visit with hubby.

Wanda ~ Crazy what you can get for emoticon

Nell ~ My hubby is looking forward to getting a new stove. Yours sounds fantastic. emoticon Interesting about the Garmin.

Jane ~ As soon as we move, I will be adding the WW magazine. Just donít want to have to go through changing the address. I have 3 mags already that I will need to change. emoticon

Paula ~ Nice job on the workout. Sending reduction vibes emoticon your way for your WW meeting. Good idea from Wanda. I have heard great things about Fitbitís customer support.

Kat ~ Sending reduction vibes emoticon your way too!

Alarm just went off. I need to get changed and off to my circuit training class. Weather is nice so I can walk!

My fit bit flex is not working not syncing properly going to look at Garmin's tomorrow. Going to check out all the differences between them all. might have to consider purchasing one of those. there goes my spark streaks for at least 3000 steps per day till I can get another pedometer of some sort.

Tomorrow is my Weight Watchers meeting. it will be interesting to see how I go on the scales.

I'll be off early tonight there is a new show coming on channel 7 here in Australia tonight that looks interesting. I don't usually watch TV but when I have TV on while cooking dinner I've seen the adds for it and it could be good. It's called "7 Year Switch" or some such.

Have a good one all emoticon

I thought $9K for a fridge was a bit much, too. We didn't spend THAT kind of money - only about $2500 all in.

Wow that's a lot of money $9000 I don't think i'd ever spend that sort of money on a fridge. We have a stand alone fridge that works really well and we have a separate freezer with draws in it that I just love!

Teri, hope that there is nothing much wrong with your dad and that they let him out of hospital soon! Sending positive healing thoughts, energies and prayers his way.

I'll have a look at that link for the magazine Jane when I get a chance. emoticon

A quiet day at home for me might get some quilting done. Have to go down the road and water my dad's garden. That's about all. They come back from their New Zealand Holiday tomorrow night. Been watering their garden everyday that it did not rain since they were away.

Just finished a 9 minute seated upper body routine video from Coach Nicole here in SparkPeople. It was good. i do not have weights and she said you can do it without weights but instead i used 2 x 400g cans from my pantry. Easy enough for me to do with my hips and at least I did almost 10 minutes of extra exercise than just normal daily walking and daily house jobs etc..

I can't make excuses anymore my hips in fact my whole body depends on me staying healthy and fit.

Have an extra awesome day all. emoticon

weird... I clicked on the link - I had to fill in my business information before I could go any further? I don't want to give out my employer's business information, so NOT interested in that!

We had to buy a new fridge last year and the sad thing (along with those prices!!!) was that several places we went told us that "they just don't make 'em like they used to"!!!!! what in the world is THAT all about!!!! LOL!!!

I just came across a link for free WW magazine -- I did this in the past and it is true - it works! I would do it now, but just renewed -- I got my renewal for $3.99 though, so I'm not too upset! If you've wanted to try it - here's a golden opportunity!

When I redid my kitchen, I got a really good stove, but couldn't see the point of the really expensive refrigerator. An expensive stove provides higher heat on the high end and lower heat on the low end; you pay for the heat flexibility. All refrigerators keep food at the proper temps no matter how much you pay. If you need lots and lots of space, you can build a walk-in for $9000 if you have the square footage available. I have a friend who did that after her catering business took off.

Terri - sorry to hear about your dad. Hope he is better soon and able to come home from the hospital!

The fridge we bought was just nice enough for us to have in the townhouse till we sell in 5 years or so. We'll buy what we REALLY want when we move to NC. Interesting thing, tho - when we were shopping at Best Buy, they had a fridge there that was marked over $9000!!!! Of course, it was double sized, had ice and water in the door, and all the other bells and whistles on it (although it didn't have a K-cup coffee maker - I wonder why not?). That was WAY more than what we needed, but I just had to look to see what $9K worth of fridge was like!

Had a change in plans yesterday. My dad called and wasnít feeling right so I took him to the hospital. Five hours later I went home (I live very close to him and the hospital). He called me back to let me know they were keeping him overnight. So I will know more today. So today will also be up in the air until I know what is happening. emoticon

Paula ~ Hmm, I have some ironing I need to do. Maybe that should be on my list today while I wait. emoticon

Jane ~ My granddaughters are off the week after Easter. It just doesnít seem right. emoticon

Wanda ~ Your fridge sounds nice. emoticon We are hoping to leave ours here when we move and get one more to our needs.

May do some at home exercising today.

Hey all! Checking in after the weekend (I don't seem to be able to stay up on Spark during the weekends!)

We did buy a refrigerator - they had to order it since we wanted black to match the black stove, black dishwasher in the house. Ice and water thru the door, and freezer on the bottom! So stoked to get that in about a month!

Weather is looking better for Saturday - only 20% chance of rain now. Will continue to monitor through the week (like I can do anything about it?? NOT). I'm excited to finally see some of my things that I packed away 6 years ago! Some of the items will be donated, but Tom and I will be going through all the kitchen stuff to get rid of duplicates, and perhaps some of his "stuff" will go and mine will stay?!?!?!

Boy, I used to hate ďspringĒ forward. Always felt a little gypped of the hour. But now that I am retired, it doesnít bother me a bit. emoticon

Hubby liked the meal I made yesterday. emoticon It was a slow cooker pork with greens and beans. So I am still allowed in the kitchen. Also made the protein bars he loves so much (even though they are for me) and my jello for dessert/night time snack.

We might take the trailer to Half Moon Bay this week. The weather really looks nice. We will see how the next few days play out and if they still have room. They are one of the only places where you canít reserve. That works for us because we canít seem to decide in advance!

Nell ~ emoticon on the bone issue. I would be very surprised if mine have gotten much lighter at all. I am lucky in that regard.

Paula ~ How was your time with your friend? emoticon

Off for some oatmeal before my 90 minutes barre/yoga class this morning unless hubby has other ideas. No cardio gym visit yesterday. Maybe today.

Terri, the weight of your bones can change, it's called osteoporosis and I don't recommend it. Good, strong, heavy bones are a good thing as you age.

Had pretty much a maintenance week. I was up .2 at my weigh in yesterday. I have decided that after my next challenge (the 5% challenge starts March 26 if anyone is interested) if I continue to maintain, I will contact my doctor and see if she agrees this is the weight for me. Then she can write a note that I can take to WW and get my lifetime status. I am one of those people who weigh ďheavyĒ. The last time I had my fat percentage tested through a dunking process (which I highly recommend), I found out that the normal weight range for my bones and muscles was from 86 to 106 pounds. I weighed 126, 20 pounds over the range. I canít change the weight of my bones and muscles! emoticon

No great granddaughter visit today. She got sick emoticon last night so her dad is staying home with her. On to Plan B. I will be going to my barre class this morning while hubby is at Cars and Coffee, weather permitting for him. Then possibly a cardio gym visit this afternoon. He worked out pretty hard yesterday so I am not sure if he has a gym visit in him today.

Kat ~ We are full of answers. emoticon

Wanda ~ We are getting ready to get a storage. With the house hopefully going on the market in the next few months, we need to declutter it. emoticon

Paula ~ Had a good time at the dinner. Enjoy yours! emoticon

Sandy ~ Stay warm! emoticon

My smoothie is defrosting as I type. Enjoy your Saturday.

Have had a busy day today catching up on lots of little jobs I had been putting off. They are all finally done emoticon

Tomorrow will be a busy but good day. catching up with an old friend of our whom used to be our neighbour 23? years ago when we lived up in Innisfail North Queensland. She moved to Brisbane then Tamworth NSW where she has been for a number of years and is up this way on a road trip. she'll be staying at Mum's next door tomorrow night.

We'll spend the afternoon catching up on all the news from the last 23 years what we never found out through Facebook lol. Then tomorrow night we are taking her with some of our relatives to our local club for dinner. It will be really nice to see her again after all these years. Monday morning she'll hit the road for her drive home to Tamworth NSW.

Have a good one all and keep smiling emoticon

Thanks, all, for the support on the #loss yesterday. I actually more go by my home scale than the one at the meeting. I do only weigh every couple days at home, but only in the morning, just before I shower (which is after breakfast). I know I get a more consistent reading there, because I'm weighing at a consistent time of day, without the variables of clothing, time of day, volume of water consumed since waking up, etc.

Kind of a quiet weekend planned. May shop for a new refrigerator. Next weekend will be crazy busy with all of my things being moved from storage in to the 2nd bedroom (now empty) where I'm living. It will be entertaining to have all my "stuff" under one roof again for the first time in 6 years!

Today is my WW meeting. I have no idea how the scale is going to respond but I am very happy with my progress. I am working out more than ever and for the most part eating healthy. Today I have my barre class right before my meeting and possibly an early morning trip to the gym for some cardio with hubby. Tonight I have a retirement dinner to attend. It will be a busy day! emoticon

Wanda ~ It is so much more than the scale. You had a emoticon week. It will show up sometime!

Paula ~ She turned 5 in October and will start kindergarten this year. We are getting our emoticon this week too. Try to stay dry!

Diane ~ Hope your weeklies work for you. I donít seem to be one of those who can use them all the time. emoticon

Oatmeal or egg white omelet for breakfast. Depends on it hubby wants to go to the gym before my class.

Teri have fun with your Great granddaughter!
Paula and Wanda great job on the losses!
So I never use my weeklies but today had a little bit more cheese and wheat thins than I planned so using a few of my weeklies we'll see what happens. A lot of people in my meeting always use there weeklies so if it works for them it should work for all of us! Back to work, have a great night! Diane

Wanda, I don't generally weigh in on my scales now I wait till the weekly meeting as not all scales are the same and completely accurate. So prefer to just go with one scale and seeing as I'm doing WW will stick with there's lol

I also do eat breakfast before I go but usually about 6 am is when I eat and our meeting is on at 9 am. Some ladies at the meeting prefer to wait till after the meeting then have breakfast when they get home.

At least though on the positive side the WW scales showed a loss not a plus.

Terri, emoticon for you being able to look after your great grand daughter. that will be so lovely for you both. How old is she if you don't mind me asking?

Kat, take it easy when starting back at exercise. build up gradually so you don't over do it!

Today is my Grocery shopping day and we are getting some much needed rain here at the moment!

Have a great day all. Keep smiling emoticon

Well, the scale gods are nothing if not accurate. I'd drunk so much water this morning (close to 32 oz) that by the time I got to the meeting, I was only down 0.2#. I know that my actual weight is less than the scale at the meeting, so I'm good with it. I'll just have a bigger number next week, right!?!?!?
