i just did Jillian Michaels "No More Trouble Zones" but i dont know what type of exercise to plug it in as for my fitness tracker. i am guessing strength training because it was mixing weights and abs and.... well shoot i dont know.

ive been doing "Banish Fat Boost Metabolism" everyday and plug it in as circuit training but NMTZ is something different. i didnt sweat much at all like i do for BFBM... but i know my legs will be sore when i wake up!!!.... is it strength training???

I only strength train with two instructors via DVD and they are Cathe Friedrich www.cathe.com and Amy Bento www.nrgfitness.net/ . I've done Kelly Coffey DVDs www.coffeyfit.com/catalog/ as well and she's good, but I have a love for Cathe and Amy more. They both create excellent programs and they helped me to build my gunz. I buy my DVDs from www.totalfitnessdvds.com because they are cheaper than Amazon. When you purchase over $19 shipping is free. The only DVDs that are not on special is the BeachBody workouts and Cathe's STS.

Thanks - that does help. My #1 goal right now is to lose weight as fast as possible while still being healthy. I also would like to tone up as I lose weight.

Can anyone recommend some strength training DVD's?
--Keep in mind I stay at home with a 2 years old & my husband pretty much works 100 hour weeks right now so I don't have a whole lot of time every day. But I will make the time for the results.

All of Jillian's DVDs are cardio. NMTZ and 30DAY Shred are all circuits though and they fall under cardio. Some will say that Power Sculpt is a circuit too because it has some strength exercises in it, but it's classified as cardio when it comes to Jillian.

If you see your body changing and you're fulfilling your weight loss and fitness goals then what you are doing, workout wise, is working. If you see that you need any changes anywhere you may need to add in some strength training. It's really hard to give any advice on this as I don't know what your goals are or what your menu is like.

I have a question:

Do these DVD's (NMTZ, etc.) count as cardio or strength training or both? If I am rotating NMTZ, 30-Day Shred, BL Bootcamp, etc. 3 - 4 x's a week is that good enough? I throw in either Yoga or Powersculpt. Do I need to be doing more than that?

and 30 minutes of cycling.

but i felt good ..and glad

I find NMTZ a real butt kicker. I am exhausted when i am finished. I am trying to the 30DS or NMTZ during the day and do to the gym in the evening 5 days a week. I will update my progress for pounds lost and inches lost.

Keep it up Mariplay2004! You are a kicking butt! I did the video Monday and Tuesday and will run tonight because I can't stand the thought of doing BFBM tonight. Sometimes I can do it 3 or 4 days in a row but not this week. I must say I was not too kind to Jillian last night during my workout but I finished the whole thing.

Going on vacation next week which is always the true test! So no Jillian for a whole week!

Yes ..i started my week out strong ..i did the video monday ..
walked for like 2 hours on sunday

yesterday i ran 3.5 miles ..and did 25 minutes on the elliptical
and some weights ..and today ..I will do the video again just 3 circuits and do some light cycling .

but man ..i was sooooo tired monday

Congrats! I did the video last night after my short run and it still kills me. Yes, That's my favorite circuit with the old school cardio with the buttkicks, high knees, and jumping jacks. By far the WORST is number 6: jumping squats, the stupid crosscrountry move, scissor kicks, and skaters..I swear I always think I am going to skip the last circuit when she starts the last circuit with moguls right after that hellish circuit but I just power thru. Keep it up!

OMG..so

my first day of the video was last night ..and yes ..you where right the scissor kicks ..(where does she come up with these moves LOL ) man ..those really got me ..i think the best circuit for me ..was when she incorporrated jumping jacks ..and buttkicks ..it was the easiest ..LOL
everything else ..OMG ..I did however do the Entire video ..I'm very proud of myself ..and Tomorrow I will do it again =)

MARIPLAY2004 - The Banish Fat Boost Metabolism is a great cadio workout and you can easily burn 450-500 calories. The moves are very easy to follow but not always easy to do (i.e. scissorkicks!!) I have been doing this video 3 times a week for the past month and people have noticed a difference in me even though I only lost 6 lbs. Good luck with your workout and report back on your thoughts!

I finished 30DS and have been doing BFBM for about 5 days now and absolutely love the BFBM!! The circuits are short and just when you think you can't go any further, the circuits change. I am also burning more calories than I did on the 30DS. emoticon

I just did BFBM for the first time yesterday and loved it. I have done the Shred and NMTZ before, but can't do as much strength work now that I'm in physical therapy. Love all these videos, but whoa, my heart was POUNDING during BFBM. And today my hamstrings are sore, which is great since those are hard for me to target.

I also alternate the 2 DVD's during the week. They are both great workouts! I have been doing 30 DS for a few months (along with other DVD's and running), and it had gotten too "light" for me. It was great to get a longer video.
What I love about Jillian is her emphasis on core exercises. When I run my hand down my side, it feels soooo much tighter than I can ever remember.

Everyone is an athlete. The only difference is that some of us are in training and some are not.

I did No More Trouble Zones for the 4th time last night. The first time I didn't like it but I have kept at it and I really like it now. It really gives me a great ab workout. I stepped on the scale this morning and noticed I gain almost 2lbs. I'm kinda bummed about it but I am thinking it's because of the strength training.

I've been doing Banish Fat Boost Metabolism for a couple of weeks now. I absolutely love that workout. There are a few things I have to modify cause I just can't do it but it give me a great workout.

I have both and they are both great. Just tried NMTZ for the 1st time last night. It was great. I don't do the videos that often but like to work them into my rotation. Tonight is my running night. I love running days. (Or at least now I do.)

Making little improvements every day. Loving the lifestyle change.

I got both videos last week and hae exercised to both twice - yesterday I actually got thru one of them!

I know we're supposed to give our muscles a day off to recover, but since one is circuit and the other is cardio, do you think it's OK to alternate them, and do one every day?

I did 30Day on Saturday BFBM on Sunday and NMTZ today. I'm sore but in a good way! I did them pretty regularly a month ago and just fell out of the routine. I need to get back in the habit. I can't imagine doing 2 Jillian workouts back to back- but what a great goal!!

How do you enter the NMTZ and BFBM into your SparkPeople Fitness Tracker? I was leaning toward circuit training like 30 Day Shred?
I don't have a heart monitor to track my calories burned.

you must be having such great stamina to being able to do NMTZ and BFBM back to back! emoticon That's awesome!!!
I own 30 DS and NMTZ from Jillian, but so far I only managed NMTZ in once sitting once emoticon I'm just exhausted by half way through that I mostly split it up in 4/3 circuits and often combine it with one level of 30DS. I know, it might not make sense, but the first 4 circuits on NMTZ just kill me! Doing the 3 core circuits afterwards is something I'll really have to work up to! *lol*
I'm waiting on getting BFBM in the mail; I wonder if I can do the entire workout or also need to take it in 'baby steps'! emoticon

I use BFBM along mixed w/ her other dvds and the elliptical and I am inching closer and closer to my goal. I am even starting to see definition in my upper abs. Jillian rocks.

I did BFBM on Saturday and again yesterday. Talk about getting your butt kicked! I'm proud of myself for making it through all 7 circuits even though I had to rest between them. As I get in better shape I won't have to though, so I'm okay with it.

Today I did NMTZ for the first time and WOW! My arms want to fall off! That's probably the weakest part of my body and Jillian just loves to push it!

My biggest complaint is I do them first thing in the morning and I'm not as flexible as I might be later in the day. Oh well, at least I'm getting them in.

I do BFBM and NMTZ back to back to get a really hardcore workout. (I just don't do the cool down on the first one.) I use my heart rate monitor to see what I am burning...I burn between 895 and 920 calories each time. I can totally see my body transforming.

I have to tell you, Jillian keeps kicking' my butt with her no more trouble zones dvd. My husband laughed at me on Saturday. He walked past me in the basement, and when I switched from one move and then lay on my back on the mat, I threw a towel over my head/face to soak up the sweat. I felt it yesterday too, but it was a good kind of sore. I am going to schedule it for tonight too.

BLACKANDI...I do the same thing. I get bored very quickly doing the same workout all the time, so I mix up everything I have and throw lifting DVDs and gym cardio in there as well. Sometimes I wonder what would kind of results I might see if I did do the workouts as often as they suggest, but I think I would just go nuts if I had to do the same one every day. But I do have all 3 of Jillian's DVDs and I think they're great.

emoticon I am kinda picky about other things like music, but I hate exercising and the littlest thing can turn me off.

The workout NMTZ is true strength training, no real cardio. You'll loss inches and feel it plus see it in your clothing. BFBM is strength and cardio. You can't go wrong with either one.

I love these videos. I sweat buckets whenever I do them and I feel the workouts. I did the BFBM yesterday and it looked like I ran through the sprinklers, lol. They are both very good. I've just started them myself and I haven't measured yet to see the difference- I'm sure there has to be with the way she works you.

I did NMTZ tonight and I used muscles I did not know I had, great workout. This is the first JM's I have ever done. Very impressed!

i did NMTZ for the first time this morning, and WOW it was a good workout! i was sweating so much i was totally soaked, but it felt great. and i am proud to say i pretty much kept up with them the whole time and was able to do all of it! and i even did some REAL push-ups!!! :)

we'll see, i can't do it regularly either, but i'm hoping to make it part of my normal routine.

Well I did my 1st day of the Banish Fat Boost Metabolism DVD and OMG it kicked my but. I am a little soar in my legs today. But when I was doing the DVD last night I was fighting for air......OMG

I use 30 day shred and no more trouble zones - in addition to running and the elliptical for more cardio. I can definitely see more definition in my arms and stomach.........and I feel so much stronger. Ironically even my running has improved........ not sure why or how but I can run much faster since I started the circuits with Jillian. Previous to starting her workouts I did only cardio and no stregnth training.....

I've noticed my strength and endurance increase quite a bit. Where I used to have to go to my knees on push ups, I can now do them all the right way. I've also been able to increase my weights since I started. These are definitely really good, butt-kickin DVDs.

I haven't done any of them consistently. I add them to my program where I need either need a cardio day or a circuit day. BFBM and NMTZ are a compliment to my current workouts. I'm sure I've gotten results, but I can't pinpoint where because I also weight lift and do traditional cardio as well. I do circuits maybe 7 times out of the month.

Both DVDs are very good though. Real butt kickers! Enjoy!
