I went to Disney on Ice and was surrounded by sweets and only munched on a snack size bag of almonds. I was so proud of myself!

Wow Beckie! Great news all around! Good job on the running you weren't planning for. The Pop Chips almost remind me of Pringles.
I go through stages - sometimes I crave chips and then I could go months without eating a chip.
It is hard to say with your son but I would continue the natural pills for now. Can't hurt right?

yes, if you love potato chips pop chips are good. I am not a HUGE eater of potato chips. I also like popcorn indiana's Chip-ins. They are a popcorn chip and the white cheddar is AWESOME!

Today I did not do any exercise. 1. becuase it was YOGA! and 2. we had a meeting at school at 8:15 and lasted until 9. not enough time to do all of that. I may try and do the walk / run with my oldest at his recess time. They are marking every 1/8 mile and when they get 5 miles in they get some "toe token" and marking in the gym how far everyone has gone. Parents can join. SO I was the ONLY parent there on Tuesday. AND He made me run!! I am not a runner, and even worse on woodchips, 50 second graders running around, half of the coarse is at the bottom of a hill so one foot is higher than the other. BUT I did do 1 1/2 miles in 15-20 min.

we had the meeting with school this morning and he is doing MUCH better in school and his grades are improving. And with all of their testing they can not find anywhere where he would fit into the IEP / special ed help. SO right now he will be moving onto 3rd grade, and maybe think about having some summer tutoring to keep him on track. Plus they will do another set of NWEA testing that they do for everyone and see how he is improving there as well. SO I don't know if the natural pills we are currently trying since Feb have helped, or if maybe if it took him 6-7 months to feel more comforatable with the new school. but I guess I am just happy he is doing better grade wise. We are also going to switch that his second dose of pills be taken at school during lunch, instead of waiting until after school to get it. This may help with homework time that it's in him a few hours before that.

Len - I agree - the Pop Chips original are my favorite.

Beckie - You will do great with your willpower this weekend!

I pulled my right lat/trap muscle this morning during my workout - so not happy at this moment. Hope it doesn't nag for long.

Thanks guys!! I am excited!!

I have found a new snack that I love - PopChips! Love the original...the barbeque not so much. Still have the others to try. I bought it from Amazon.

Have a great day!

birthday and sleepover is this coming weekend. Right now I plan on NOT having the cupcakes on Friday night and only making enough for the kids & hubby. Then maybe a small piece on Saturday. At least we are combining my father in laws birthday which is today and my sons. And my dad is in Florida for a few weeks so we did his birthday (also today) during spring break when more of the family was in town. Then no more birthday's until June.

Yes ab ripper is a killer. At first I could only do about 1/2 of each one. But I am adding in more each time. Today was plyo's. Another killer. I thought after all the bob workouts I could handle this one. I would say they are about the same. And not liking the yoga one either. And then I noticed next week (4) that you do it twice in one week. YUCK!

LEn - glad to hear you got cleared to exercise again. Take it slow and steady.

Beckie - AB Ripper is crazy! I remember when I first started it kicked my butt!
The Yoga DVD is so long! I used to dread doing it because it took forever. How did sleepover and cake go? Or is that this coming weekend?

Len - WOOHOO for the back! So happy to hear you are almost back in the game!

All is well here...moving forward and still going like crazy but it is all good!

Today was start of week 3 (p90X). and I had to zip through the chest and back part. I had an appointment at the bank at 9:30. hope my appraisal for the house goes through high enough and we can save $400 a month on our mortgage payment!!!!! At least I made it through the first set of moves, and started on the second ones, and then jumped to the ab ripper to finish it off. a total of 45 min.
Thursday is going to be another day where I have to cut it short cause I start a meeting at 8:15 with school. BUt that day is yoga.

I need to stay away from the cake this weekend. At least I am making the Hungry girl version with only pumpkin and the cake mix. Hope I live through the weekend with 4 - 8 year old boys sleeping over. What in the world was I thinking!?!?!?!?! haha. this is his first birthday party with friends AND first time for friends to sleepover here. I limited it to 3 friends.

Beckie - Hope the knee is better! Please be careful!! Try not to stress too much. We all know it doesn't do any good.

Len - Great news from the chiro! Glad you are feeling better.

Wedding planning is moving forward and smoothly. THe rest of the house has been a disaster. I swear all I do is plan for the wedding and train for the marathon. Today though, I set the timer for an hour and everyone in the house picked up, straightened up, and cleaned. What a difference just one hour made! I decided that I am not going to stress over anything this next month. It is not worth the havoc it causes.

welcome and that is AWESOME on your first 3 days. I know there are a couple people doing the body revolution. Check one of the other posts on this team that are doing it.

Today was yoga. I made it through about 40 min. my left knee feels tight and I can't quite bend it all the way like I used to. So after a while the warrior poses were getting to me. I tried to ffw to a part I thought I could do but I wasn't finding much. Going to take some advil to see if it helps any. I did have 2 knee surgeries on that knee about 25 years ago.

weight is staying the same better than gaining but it is DOWN from April 1 start weight. A little stress going on these next few weeks with trying to find options with mortgage and equity loans, looking for new truck, birthday party for oldest next week, and him getting tested at school too. hopefully everything goes smoothly and I can relax again by the 30th.

Holy cow! Today I got on the scale and lost 4.5 lbs already. Its only day 3 for my on Jillian Michael's Body Revolution. I am so happy. I am sure a lot of it is water weight but I am not complaining. I've done enough diets and exercise plans in the past that I know if I do both the diet and the exercise together, I can lose the weight. I have done one without the other and failed miserably. Such a shocker for me.

Yes, I do remember the wedding being over so quick and that was it. I too got married at 18 (a month before my 19th birthday) and we are still together 20 years later! We waited 12 years to have kids.

Take it easy.

I know! Crazy huh? But, it is all coming together nicely. I am continuing my workouts. Today is the first time I have actually taken some "me time" and did my morning crossword puzzle and cleaning out the email inbox. Gave myself 30 min. on the computer. Then it is back to the grind. Busy, busy. Soon it will all be a memory though.

Today is colder - only 65. Tomorrow is only supposed to be mid-50. Bizarre.

Great work on P90X!

Oh rhonda - that is a short time to get a wedding planned. Take some deep breaths, find a quiet place to slow down for just a few min.

Oh my snow and then 80. I wish we had the 80's back. it's been about 55-60 and today it's SO WINDY!!! feels tons colder.

Yes, started week 2 today. I was able to do 15 pushups (on knees), only about 8 of the decline ones, and diamond ones, and 20 of the band pull ups.

Hey there!
Sorry - my life has been a zoo - again. But this time even more so....my 18 yo and her BF are getting married. He is joining the Navy and they are getting married before he leaves. So I have to plan a wedding for May 26 - 2012!
I have been going non-stop and I am EXHAUSTED!
Other things going on as well but don't have the time to even begin to go into all that.
My house has been neglected all week.

Beckie - I am glad you LOVE P90X! I do love it! We had a few snow flakes the other day as well. It was so weird! All of a sudden out of no where is snowed real hard for 5 minutes. BIZARRE! Yesterday 87 today is supposed to be 89. Crazy, crazy weather.

Len - Glad you are improving! Have a great week!

Well, I completed a whole week of P90X and I do LOVE it!!! Next week I do have to ramp up my number of push ups and my weights for arms. I do have a slight good sore in my lower booty!!! which really needs help.

Does anyone know how a low testosterone can effect any weight loss? Or anything else? They told me normal is .3 and I am at .2 but there is no FDA approved pill to take to raise it. Only a cream and I really don't need a lower voice or more hair if I get too much.

How is everybody else doing?

I don't know if Dr's here recommend going to chiro's either. But too bad, if they are good, they WORK! Our insurance doesn't cover either. I even had to bring my little one a few times. his hips and tailbone were all out of wack and the Dr. just said no broken bones, and to let him rest. Yeah right, he's limping horribly around the house. Within a few hours of the chiro, running around normally again.

I thought I would start with the Classic series. Not enough time for doubles, didn't read much about the lean one. But I think I need to up the push ups next week. I'm not feeling it like my brother said I would. I guess my goals is to try something new since I have been doing so much of Bob and Jillians and kettlebells for the last year and 1/2 I wanted to change things up. Maybe see some more definition, still want to thin out my thighs and buns, seems like that is the LAST place I lose anything. I thought this would give me 3 months of change and then maybe go back to my others. At least I am only borrowing it so that's a bigger bonus.

OMG - I just saw snow flakes!!!!! Time to turn my back to the windows.

A lot of insurance companies here don't cover them either. Mine doesn't. I pay out of pocket but it is worth it for me.
Just as with MD's there are "bad" chiro's but when you get a good one - wow, what a difference they can make!

You know what is funny Rhonda...in Jamaica Chiropractors are not recommended by doctors and physiotherapists. It is apparently a relatively new practice in Jamaica; there are less than 10 here in the entire island. I went against my doctor's advice and I am glad I did. After I am 'fixed' I still plan to go for monthly visits.

Glad everyone is on the mend in your house Beckie. What a bummer of a way to spend spring break.
Kids go back to school tomorrow. Found out today that Mia (almost 9) is a little nearsighted so had to order her glasses. They should be here in a few days.
What P90X program (lean, etc) did you decide to go with?

Len - Hope you get cleared by the chiro. They truly are amazing people!. Them and massage therapists! I see my massage therapist on Wed. I truly believe that by seeing both of them regularly I have kept myself from major injuries with all my running.

I had heard the books were really good way before i knew the movie was coming out. I had heard that you should at least find out what the book is about before going to the movie blind.

Today was day 1 of P90X. Last week was a disaster with the kids and me getting sick on Spring BREAK! I did get my workouts in during the week, but waited to start P90X till today.
I ended up staying home with the 5yo yesterday and my hubby and 7 yo went to easter dinner / supper (ate at 3PM!!!) no over eating for me. Thank goodness he is MUCH better today.

Yes, I too LOVE my Chiro.

I thought it was okay Rhonda. I haven't read the book so maybe I should before the other movies come out!

Have a great week!

Len - What did you think of the Hunger Games? I thought it was good but thought the book was so much better.
I know! I love my chiro! I feel so much better!!

Beckie - I forgot to tell you - with P90X, I followed the Lean Program.

Hope y'all are having a great weekend. One day od spring break left. Mia has an eye appt tomorrow. She keeps getting headaches so going to rule out needing glasses before we go further.

Hi Gang!
Made it back from AL. It was a great trip. The only problem is my sister and I are completely different - she doesn't exercise, they eat mostly pre-packed, non-healthy foods, etc. Needless to say I have been doing a serious detox since coming home! Wow! Amazing how four days can make you feel sluggish.

Had a horrible kink in my back/shoulder - remember? FINALLY went to chiro today. I feel like a new person!

Beckie - For P90X I track it as ST but I use my HRM and put in my calories.
How is it going?

Len - Glad you are on the mend!!

Alright, off to dye eggs.

Hey Everyone!

Happy Good Friday! Long holiday weekend...back to work on Tuesday! YAY!! Watching "The Closer" and having lunch - shakeology with unsweetened original almond milk. No pain so far today! I am happy I am on the mend. The chiropractor gave me some stretching exercises that last 6 minutes. I started them last night...well I forgot to do them last night so when I woke up at 3a.m (to use the bathroom AGAIN), I did them...seems to be helping! Hope everyone is having a great day.

Y, how are you? Hope all is well.

Sorry everyone is sick Beckie! Yay on smaller sizes!!

Hey there everyone.
Well the start of spring break is not going so great. Kids came down with some nasty bugs Starting Sunday night (I had to pick up my oldest from my moms at midnight). Thank goodness today all the fevers are gone, no more vomiting. Just coughing now. So it has been a quiet few days with no fighting which is nice.

Today I did wake up with a headache and stuffy nose. I took something and rested a bit, and then at 10:30 put in Bob's begginer weight loss workout. I needed something lighter today and that was perfect 45 min. Next week I plan on starting the P90X ones that my brother is letting me borrow. I hope to take pictures this weekend and still deciding about posting. I should so that it helps me see how far I have come.

I did go Sunday to Target with my mom and sister in law and I did end up buying a dress. Bonus the size Small FIT!!!!! same with the cargo pant / crops that I bought last week. Nice to be able to buy smalls. BUT what if I lose more weight or inches, will I be able to find clothes? I was hoping eventually I could fit into a size 6 jean, but noticed the stores don't seem to have too many choices if any at all. This could become a problem.

Have a good day.

Hi Val - looks like you are no beginner when it comes to JM workouts :)

I did MTC Day 1 yesterday and although today is Day 2 I decided 50 minutes of cardio and abs was the order of the day. Truth be told no way I am doing walking crabs at the gym :) I will save that for my home workout which is tomorrow. I go to the gym Tues and Thurs generally when my daughter is at school

Thanks for the warm welcome Len. :)

Hi Val!!

Welcome to the gang! What did you order. I just ordered her kickboxing workout from Amazon. Before my back injury, I was doing Body Revolution. Hope to pick that up when I get the go-ahead to workout again! All the best.

Hi everyone,
newbie here but not new to Jillian or working out in general. emoticon
I've worked out to Jillian's 30DS and some other 'older' ones of hers when they came out a few years ago but then strayed away to other workouts (and actually sold/traded most of the DVDs *eek*)... Now I'm in the mood to go back to her circuit workout style and have ordered some of her newer ones as well!

I'm planning on following her 30 Day Slimdown rotation losely; I'm still waiting on the order from Amazon to arrive!
So far I'm using 30 DS as well as BFBM and Yoga Meltdown.

Looking forward to get to know you all better over time! emoticon

Hi everyone! Back is feeling 80% better. Actually saw a chiropractor and he was able to ease my pain; so for the first time in 2 weeks I have pain free moments. He has not cleared me for exercise and for once I am fine with that. Looking to heal properly!

emoticon SNEAKY! Glad you are loving Jillian! All the the best with Ripped in 30. Loved that program!

Beckie, glad you are shaking up things with your diet. I have to be working on that now that I can't work out!

Welcome KrishFam! All the best with BR! I was doing it before my injury and hope to resume it as soon as possible!

Great job with KB&T and Kickbox NYCGIRL. I just bought Kickbox today! The prices keep going up on Amazon as of late so I decided to just purchase it for 12.49...when I put it in my cart it was $8...tsk tsk

Enjoy AL Rhonda!

Thank goodness the weather report has changed a bit so no more snow listed. It would just suck after being in 80 degrees with shorts and tank tops on a couple weeks ago.

Curious for those that do P90X - what do you track it as?
I have a couple ideas to get some extra cardio in during the week while I am doing this program. I just hope it works out like it does in my head. It will require nice weather.

Today I did do BFBM.
I will keep an eye out for the Kickbox one and might be able to order that later.

Welcome everyone!

Len - Glad you are able to move a little more. Hopefully you will be back to your "norm" soon.

Beckie - SNOW? UGH! No thanks! It is too late in the year - in my opinion - but then I don't even like snow. LOL. I know that snow can still be had though it is just frustating.
Good luck on keeping the kids busy!

This week has been crazy! I am trying to get things ready for us to head to AL on Sun but have been going non-stop all week!

welcome sneaky - I know it can be long and slow for the weight to come off. I am still working on getting it all right. Keep going as long as it keeps going down it all adds up in the end. I love Ripped in 30. I think my favorite one is week / level 3.

Well, we will be busy the next few days. Then I will have to come up with things to do with the kids from Tuesday Till Easter. Since they are spring break starting tomorrow. ARGH! And the weather man mentioned SNOW on Wed or Thurs REALLY !!?!?!?!??!

Today I did Bob's IOM cardio conditioning. I also have been playing with my foods that I usually eat during the day and I think I have come up with a new and better plan to shake things up some more. Hope it works.

Hi all. I'm new to this team. Finished 30DS the other day and now am on D3 of Ripped. I'm finding I like it a lot better, even though I quite liked 30 DS! I'm also doing c25k and just finished my first week of that today. I'm finding that keeping up to date with tracking and reading boards like this is really keeping me motivated though the scale is moving at a snail's pace. What JM says and does makes a lot of sense to me and I believe in her methods.

Sorry your 5k was not as good as last year but as least you completed it emoticon

Recovery is very slow. I went back to work yesterday and it was very painful. Today wasn't as painful but the pain is still there. I am lean because the area around the disc is still inflamed so I can't walk or stand straight. The back brace is not helping much but I am still being grateful that I can move around this week vs, last week. Being positive. Maybe I will do a shakeology cleanse for the remainder of the week...oh but I can't because I am still on meds...ugh
