SO very sorry for your loss. You had Gal a long time and it sounds like her human and canine family will miss her very much.

We have lost two greyts over the years. It is such a hard thing to bare.

Thank you so much Bob Schwartz (I Run, Therefore I Am- Nuts!) for this lovely, funny insight into my life.

I am so sorry for your loss.. We had to put our first grey down because of cancer in her legs and I still miss her and cry when thinking of her.

I am so very sorry for your loss. We have lost 2 of our greyhounds, one to an accidental drowning and one to osteosarcoma so I know how you are feeling right now. There is a Yahoo group called Circle of Grey and they are a compassionate group whose members have all lost greyhounds. I urge you to join as they provide much comfort. Godspeed, Gal, and run free at the bridge.

I'm so very, very sorry for your loss. :( Gal sounds like a very special girl, and I know how hard it is to lose our greys. It's been a year since I lost Gryffin to cancer, and I still miss him dearly.

We had to put Gal(our tiger striped grey) down today. She hurt herself last night and she can't use one of her back legs. She is to old to let the leg heal if it is broken.
This means that there will be a MAJOR power change among the greyhounds if we have to put her down. Marilla the next oldest will have to take the "thrown", but I don't know if she can handle it(she is always the follower, not the leader). Duncan the next oldest after Marilla might have to take the "thrown", which will be about a seven or eight year difference between the oldest(Gal-the head of the pack) and himself(one of the middle in the pack). We will just have to see. Gal was also the ranger of the pack(she was the one to scout out the area for enemys); She has been teaching Marilla how to be the ranger to maybe Marilla will take over the ranger position and Duncan will take the pack leader position... I don't know.
I have been crying my eyes out for most of the night and all of today. Gal has been in my life for 2/3 of what I remember(when I was 5ish). This was about when I turned 8 years old; I am 19 now.
