Congratulations and I'm sorry for the added stress of health issues for baby! I'm excited to hear about how it goes abd fingers crossed for a safe and successful birth! So far the only one with health problems is ME over here. Baby looking good so far. I have my neuro appt tomorrow. Stupid migraines!!
In other news I successfully tracked my calories today, first time in 4 days. Yay!!

Love the baby pic! My daughter is due in early July - some health issues so she may go sooner - but so far all is well.

Baba - I love the idea of dancing with the dogs! Mine look at me like I'm crazy when I dance around the house - but maybe they're right! think I will have to start using my Wii this month and use the Zumba game I got for Christmas. Just getting thru the warm up has my sweating! It ain't pretty to watch but I must be burning some calories when I do it!

Hot and humid after bad storms last night. Hope everyone else has a chance to enjoy some sun.

You don't have to see the whole staircase - just the first step.

Be kinder than necessary. 'Cause everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

Bog - ooo - how neat to see the baby !! thanks for sharing ---

cold today with rain on and off - had the little one all morning - she was so independent and not cuddly - I like the cuddly and knew it would not be as much as she got older - I tried to treasure every minute - but those sweet times pass so quickly - now another stage to adore and enjoy -

Have a lot of research to do today for a meeting tomorrow and then need to put together everything for the "big" meeting -I am excited but have to make sure I do not spend too much time doing this because I get carried away -

Yesterday and today were pretty crazy. I made it through yesterday next to the track, but today I totally fell off. One thing I learned today...don't expect a power bar to carry you through. My schedule got rearranged and I had another hour before I would be able to eat lunch, but I was already starved. So I picked up a power bar thinking it was a better choice than some other things I could think of at the store. Well, it hit my stomach like a brick and I was still hungry. I ended up at Subway for a 6 inch veggie delite. That at least filled me up, but later I started dinner, had to pick up dd, continued dinner, had to drop off ds, and then had to be at the church to help with an activity. I took dinner with me, but didn't have time to eat much of it. So when refreshments rolled around all will power was gone. All I can say is, tomorrow is another day and I'll do better.

MAY 1 -- every May 1st spend 15 min in the morning dancing with the dogs - Today we danced to old songs - Wilson Picket's Mustang Sally was my favorite on the list - I think I will keep up the 15 min morning routine throughout the month -

I accepted a consulting position for program development today - starting on the ground floor with the essentials and then moving on to the more creative aspects -

Weather is windy and chilly - taught this morning - afternoon and also waiting for a student tonight - guess I will eat after 7 which is late for me -

Hope everyone is having a great day !!!

I've been missing in action lately. I'm back now. One week on and one week off isn't good enough. Here's to a good week on track.

Friday our son is coming home from Canada! Can't wait to see him. It's been a long 2 years. Saturday we're having family pictures taken and than a family party. The first annual Tom Jenson Family reunion! Ultimately, we'd like to do camping for the reunion, but this is the best we can do this year, Anyway, Saturday I'll be off track, but I'm planning to be back on track starting Sunday.

Good morning All! It's a beautiful sunshine day here in northeastern PA!

My eating has been really bad the past 2 days. I hate when I let myself do that. Anyway, today I'm moving forward. Gonna get back on track and hopefully salvage what's left of the week.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Hi Everyone! Not too much new going on here. Still chugging along. Tonight my daughter, her kids & I are going to a Barbershop Quartet concert, so I'm lookkng forward to that.

Whimsy, nice to see you back!!

Shekirk, great loss!!!!!!

Baba, since this is forever I sometimes think you are better off if you can just watch what you eat rather than "diet". Unfortunately for me I've never been very good at that..... either I'm ON a plan or totally OFF. Good luck with the job offer!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

weigh in - the same and I really thought there would be a gain - so I guess I am on a plateau - altho I have not been eating the greatest I have been more than busy so maybe that helped - I still need to get another 10 pounds off before the wedding so I best do something -

great going to all the weight loss !!!~ wow this new train is something else - YIPPEE

Little one is still sick but the fever is now much lower - It is odd that there was no other symptom - nothing - just the really high fever - They sent out more stuff to a lab for a further look and will call us - yesterday the sweet one slept most of the day but when she was awake we cuddled - try as she did to get up and moving - just a few steps to the kitchen had her down and out again - but I do see an improvement and will be with her this morning for a few hours - wish I had a camera - she was lying on the floor with dogs surrounding her and giving her a safe warm place to sleep -it was heart warming -

34 degrees and cold !!!! supposed to be in the 50's today

out of the blue I was offered 2 jobs yesterday - the one is definitely not for me but the other I am considering - another church position -

I am not following a specific diet - just trying to eat good things and watch portions - I get too confused with a "diet" and it seems to take so long to figure it all out -

GREAT DAY TO ALL !!!!!

Good morning all!
Weighed in and down about 3 pounds this week - 225.0 . Next weigh in will be in a week.
Still learning what to eat.
Sandilee- congratulations on receiving your 10 pound star!!!! That's a great acheivement!
Baba- hope the little one is feeling better. Seems some virus is really going around. So many of the kids and faculty have been sick at school - high fever, stomach aches, etc.
Whimsy- good luck on the blood work, hope it comes back all good!
We are supposed to go boating tomorrow, but the weather may prevent it. Last night's thunderstorm knocked my right off the couch!!! It's stll rumbling today.
Have a great weekend all!!!

Baba - hope your little one is feeling better!

sandilee - great job on the loss! Good for you.

had my physical today - bloodwork etc. Will get results in a day or two - don't expect anything too bad. The good news is my scale and the doctor's were the same - or maybe that's the bad news - since it was higher than I wanted! Oh well I'm working on it and that is the most I've done in months!
Good to be back.

Baba, prayers going out for your little one. Sure hope she's ok. I must have missed something....how did you dislocate your finger??

I ended up having to go out and but a new computer. I hate having to get used to a new one! I did good at WW this week .... down 1 which gave me my 10 lb star ..... YIPPEE!!! My next goal is my 5% which I'm hoping for this coming week .... I only need to lose .4 to get that.

Our weather has been wet & cold. It's supposed to start warming back up after the weekend .... I sure hope so!

you must have all felt the emergency stops on the train - my sweet little grand daughter was in 2 different hospitals this week - fever 106 for 5 days - no other symptoms - lots of tests - did not know they could test for the virus activity in the area - all negative - stopped eating and drinking - no wet diapers - DD took M - TH off but had to work today so little one spent with me last night and I will have her all day - oldest daughter coming over tonight to help until youngest DD gets about home about 9pm - the doc is calling first thing this morning and if he does not like my report - back she goes - but I think she did better last night and at least was asking for water - YIPPEE

My dislocated finger kills - nothing they can do about it since the ligaments are "blown" - nothing there to hold the finger in place - so now it looks ridiculous and really hurts - The doc said I would get used to having it dislocated - sounds odd to me - toes are getting better -

ordered Greek food in last night for everyone who was here - It was Ok but had a very different sauce on the gyros - baklava did us all in -

the 80 degree weather is gone for a bit - cold this morning - heat popped on - lots of rain yesterday -

Happy day to all - glad you are all here !!!

HI all,
FCAT over, but work is so busy it's hard to even squeeze in lunch -
Still doing OK, trying to stay as close to Phase 1 of Atkins as I can- I've almost completed 1 week - I know I won't lose the amount of weight they say you can lose, but I'll take anything.
Baba- just as Sandilee said- this would be one empty train if we threw people off when they hit a bump in the road. That train will wait for you to climb back on no matter how long it takes. We've been together a long time and you've been there to encourage us too.
Funny the weather in Washington is the same as in Florida - 80's during the day and dipping into the 50's at night. It was actually down to 40 the other night! Where is our heat?
Sandilee- congratulations on going down 1 size-- Wow!!! Great job! Woo Hoo!!
Whimsy - thanks for the info on the low-carbs - I'm enjoying it so far. I really don't feel hungry and I do feel I have more energy already. Right now phase 1 is pretty restrictive, but after two weeks I'll move to phase 2 and stay there until I get the weight off. My blood sugar was climbing and now it's coming down a bit. Low-carbs help that. I've got to watch the protein and products that could raise my cholesterol.
Bog- glad - no headaches! I hope they never come back!!

Baba - don't feel bad. Friday I was full of ambition - got back on this site and recorded, updated etc. Then fell off the wagon with recording - so don't know how my calorie count went.

Usually work on Tuesdays but off today so trying to record everything today to start the week better.

Shekirk- eating lower carb has always worked better for me - in terms of weight loss, energy. Folowing Atkins pretty strictly for 4 months helped me loose weight both times I got really heavy - and then eating carbs in fruits and veggies but avoiding all the starchy veges, breads and processed foods (with occasional exceptions) really keeps me not only a a healthier weight but feeling so much better. You have to give it a while though - before you realize how sluggish all of those carbs make you! I am relearning that becasue I have been eating a lot more over the last few months - DH is a major carb eater! I was having a big pity party for the last few months so joined him. Now got to get back on track!

You don't have to see the whole staircase - just the first step.

Be kinder than necessary. 'Cause everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

Baba you know this train doesn't put anyone off for going through rough times ... if it did it'd be empty. So hop back on here RIGHT NOW!!!

My computer bit the dust so if I'm not around much that'll be why.

My sad news - the train has kicked me off ! and won't let me back on today as I messed up sooooo bad-

GREAT GOING with the pants !!! Wish I could fit in my size 12 and 14 - I carry all weight in hips and legs and have to be at my lowest weight to get those sizes on - yuck - then my face looks like skeletor - but I am working towards those sizes anyway !!

Bog - no headache - yippee

Shekirk - stall the train until I toss my gumdrops - don't know what happened to me the last few days - I was so on target for over a month - need to remember I am headin to the weddin !!

In the 80's today - air is on - then we go back to 50 - 60's. Yesterday was warm as well - sun out and love it but not the heat --

Hi to all - I promise not to snack tonight - hold me to that !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi All! The train is still chugging away here. I decided to go closet shopping this morning and tried on jeans .... I'M DOWN A SIZE!!!! I was able to put my 14's on and they zipped with ease. I tried 12's on too and I could get them up and probably could have zipped them with a real struggle but they would have been way to tight to wear, but it won't be long!

It's a rainy, dreary day here. My DD & I went to the movies and saw Mirror Mirror, it was really a cute take on Snow White. We had planned on making it a double feature and seeing Chimpanzee but that show was sold out so we went shopping instead. LOL, I spent way more than I should of but we had fun.

Shekirk, I love muffins so I'm looking forward to the recipe.

AJ, I just saw your recipe for brussel sprouts on the recipe board ... can't wait to try them!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Hi all
Baba - wow maybe you need to rest that foot! Those toes sound really hurt.
I started yesterday trying to follow the first phase of Atkins - I thought I did fairly well = even with a few mistakes in the morning ( had some milk instead of half & half in my coffee and ate a piece of light wheat bread - the carbs weren't too high) did great for lunch but dinner DH said let's go to Chili's we can eat on on the plan there. So off we went and he ordered a steak with broccoli and a salad - that was fine. I ordered the Fajita trio - no tortillas - ate the beef, chicken and shrimp and some of the onions and peppers - came home to find out that there must be something in the cooking that added a huge amount of carbs to the meal even without the tortillas. Ugh.
Started fresh this morning. Made a "muffin in a minute" from flaxseed, cinnamon, etc. - it was so delicious with eggs and a bacon - Still full and it's hours later!
Even DH loved the muffin. I'll post the recipe on the recipe forum. It really was delicious and I was looking for a way to get flaxseed into my diet.
Bog - sorry you are still plagued with headaches. Regards to Jason. Hope you are feeling better soon.

I remembered to weigh in today - no change - need to get the train moving a bit faster and not take so many trips to the dining car -

It will be in the 80's today - hard to believe because we skipped the wonderful 60 - 70's for spring and those are my favorite temperatures - but the sun is shining and it is bright and uplifting -

Hope you all have a great day - I am doing more work around the house even tho I think I really injured 2 toes yesterday - I remember pain but put it on the back burner and kept working - last night I looked at my feet and was shocked at how red and swollen 2 toes are and another is just red -

Hey all! Today I stayed under 2000 calories, and we even went out for dinner! I'm lucky bc I can't finish a burger from a "real" restaurant so I ate half and Jason had half. He had a salad too. He's back to counting and d/l the sparkpeople food tracker. He said if I'm going to watch it and I'm pregnant then he really has no excuse not to try! He's been feeling down about his weight so I'm glad we can do this together.

I ended up going to my ER I work at to get a fioricet rx and a neuro referral. The fioricet helped a lot. I'm sad about having to take so many meds trying to control my headaches. If only I could have ibuprofen and excedrin and imitrex!

Keep on track everyone!! Choochoo!!

Hi - I love the stories about how many times certain famous people tried and failed before they MADE IT ! Never give up because it might very well be the next time that is the winner !!

Busy day yesterday and wee one was also with me all day - but my lower level is painted and looks fantastic - One of the guys is coming back today to set up the surround sound and program the TV etc - because I have no idea how to do that stuff - He is also going to program a new garage door opener - The father and 2 son team were here for 2 days - I still have so much more that I need done - I finally have a ceiling fan in my bedroom - had them all over in FL and was determined to have a few here as well - I love it !

forgot to weigh in this morning - good thing - I had a ton of chocolate yesterday - I think one reason I do that is because I get so tired that deep inside I think that if I eat something I will get energy back - I have always known that is one reason why I eat when I shouldn't - but I feel like I am going to simply drop - but then I push real hard and do not take breaks- too impatient since I want it done fast !!

So - the train is moving - still slow because we are adjusting and picking up new passengers - Let's make sure we keep pushing ourselves - and please do not be afraid to offend me when holding me accountable - I do not offend easily -

Nice day today - I am cleaning and tossing -

SHEKIRK - let's do this - finally and forever - We can still stay on the site and maintain - so no worries about losing our friends -

Ok, reset my tracker. Back up a few pounds again.
DH is seriously watching and I think this will make it easier for me too.
So, Day 1 for the 1000th time begins. I keep thinking of our shiny new train and the new track we are on. BABA and gang- keep pushing me.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Weekend! Only one more day of testing on Monday and then a very difficult meeting on Tuesday and then back to the normal hubbub of Special Education.
Hope all have a great weekend!

It is not immoral not to finish a meal, but it is of questionable morality to treat yourself like a waste-disposal system.

Hi all!
Sounds like this train is on a shiny new track!!!
I need to climb on board - been having a crazy exhausting testing week -just tomorrow and Monday and the testing fiasco will be over until finals! Thankfully, the students have been very good about it all.
Me - too many snacks - school administrators keep bringing in bagels and donuts to keep us happy while we are testing the kids.
DH went to the doctor - sugar was up too much- doc wants him on a low carb diet. My endo wants me on one too - so now we are getting ready to start again. Looking at the new Atkins diet ( which really isn't so new) just a healthier version of the old one. We shall see.
There's a free Quick Start Kit at Atkins.com/freekit ,so I'm going to order it and see what it involves.
Buckley - glad to see you here and you will do better. Don't be so hard on yourself. Venting here is always allowed!
Baba- you are amazing - love the vision of a new train, new conductor, etc! I'm hoping to create a new me and get back on the train.
Hi Sandilee and AJ!!
Grand where are you?
Bog - enjoy your pregnancy. I had a craving for nachos!! My first pregnancy I only gained about 30 pounds and lost more than that and back in my old clothes in 8 days! Hope you are feeling great, sorry about the headaches not sure about that.
Regards enjoy the rest of the week!

Oh, Man! Oh, Man! Oh, Man!

I made homemade pot pie for supper. I ate 1.5 servings. With everything else I ate today I went over my high calorie range. Ugh!!!! I should have only had 1 serving. emoticon

Oh, Well. I'll do better tomorrow. I hope.

I'm glad you're feeling better B0G.

I've had a good day so far. I danced (if you can call it that. LOL) for 25 mins & walked 1.25 miles on Gazelle.

I've had 5 cups water, can you count tea as a water?, 2 fruits, 1 veggie. Will get the other veggies at dinner.

I finally good today! That was a four day long headache WHAAAAT CRAZY! Eventually I took a bunch of mostly safe drugs and it broke the headache yesterday but I was very exhausted and had a heavy feeling in the head. But I'm all good today! I pray it stays this way for awhile!

Today's my third day of documenting what I'm eating- I didn't realize how much I'm eating now! At least the documenting is helping with what I choose to eat. Choo Choo!!!

CHOO!!!! CHOOOO!!!! The train is moving on down the track! I lost 1.6 this week. I sometimes wish I could get the "big" losses like some of the others but my average is 1.2lbs/wk so I'm right where I should be to do this healthy and I'm happy with that.

Becca! I wanna hula hoop!!!! LOL, I'll have to think about that one....haven't done it since I was a kid but it sounds like fun!

Baba, I just picked up paint chips this morning for my bathroom. I love doing that sort of thing too but I'm finding that it takes me 3 times as long these days!

Bog, I have used the coffee remedy and it usually works for me but with being pregant I'd be hesitant about the caffeine. Hope you find something that works.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Sandi

rain - did you think I would say anything else ? After a few days of sun, it is now raining again- cold and yucky - but I still like it - Went out in the rain to clean up after the dogs as the garbage comes in the morning - next is the cat litter but at least that is inside -

cooking and organizing today - watching wee one was cancelled - so I have tons of time -

tomorrow the "repair" people are coming - a father and son team- they do all kinds of things - this time they will be painting a few rooms, building an entertainment center - fixing leaky windows - putting in a ceiling fan etc - I usually have them do a bunch of stuff once a year to fit within my budget - not huge projects but things I cannot do myself - I used to paint all the time - love painting rooms and wallpapering etc - but my hands, back and neck are not cooperating -

Bog - here is a list of remedies from the past that my grandmother and aunt swear by - for headaches - put VICKS vapo-rub on your temples and rub in - OR make a cup of coffee at least 4 times as strong as normal and sip during the day - - alternate cold and hot packs on top of your head - message your head - so there it is - I have tried all of these things - Vicks did nothing for me but heat/cold and message did help - I am so excited for you !!

HAVE A GREAT DAY - no cheating - think only good thoughts and remember that fit people think about what will nourish their bodies before eating - other people eat because it tastes good, they are bored, they make excuses, on and on with the rationalizations - Let's think fit today !!

Sorry I don't have any great suggestions for headaches, but I do want to support your goal for a great pregnancy. You don't have to gain a ton of weight. Just eat well, eat sensibly and you'll do fine.

I never gained more than 23 pounds in pregnancy. Veggies and fruits tasted great. Chocolate tasted like wax and alot of not good for me foods didn't taste good either. I ate when I was hungry and stopped when I wasn't.

So, im going to be using my sparkpeople app to track what I eat and my fitness, bc when you're pregnant you have to eat a balanced diet and only add 300 calories to your day. Now if I'm hungry I'm going to eat no matter how many calories I've already eaten. Hopefully, though, tracking will help me make good choices. I'm scared of gaining weight and losing control of it again. Pregnancy is an easy way to eat whatever you want whenever you want and then end up gaining 50 lbs (or 70 like my MIL! Yikes!).

Ladies do you have any ideas on how to make the headaches go away? I'm drinking a lot of water, taking vitamins etc but my run of the mill headaches ate becoming frequent migraines. I'm on a three day headache right now. It's really getting me down.

Loving the new train! Yesterday I cleaned my closet. Did the winter-to-summer switch and got rid of anything that I don't feel good wearing. LOL, I have 2 large bags ready to be donated. I have a pair of khaki pants hanging on the back of my bedroom door that are my "inspiration pants". I want to wear them so bad, right now I can get them on but lack about 2" of being able to zip them. I'm going to put myself out there and say I WILL wear them by Memorial Day!

wow - did I tell you that this new train has a car just for positive inspiration - another car for healthy eating - a sleeper for restful nights - 2 social areas - and an exercise area - BUT wait ! The train stops at all the wonderful spots so we can walk around and enjoy the moment -

The train has room for a few more cars - any thoughts? so far daily I WILL - think positive - eat healthy - not to lose quick weight but to gain greater health - go to bed at a decent hour - find some way to socialize ( not my best area ) - do some form of moving - and live in each moment as if it were my last - SMILES TO EVERYONE !!

emoticon -

I came up with a thought that I hope will help me stay mentally tough and 100% compliant -no excuses or rationalizations -

Today - the old train has been pulled off the tracks and the old conductor fired as he would stop at too many fast food places - too many donut factories - and stop the train in the middle of nowhere - Now of course, the train also had issues - an engine that seemed to always take the wrong track - and the notorious dining car where it was OK to make excuses. Well - today I transferred to a NEW train - a NEW conductor - a NEW - engine - this train has a dining car that is beyond imagination - there are signs posted that say - MAKING EXCUSES IS A LOSING HABIT - NO EXCUSES MENTALITY - TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY - STAY COMPLIANT - STAY TOUGH - I am sure more colorful posters will be added. I need to say that the old train is no longer in service so you all must transfer to this new train - It will be fun - we will look marvelous and feel energetic and glow with health -

looks like rain today - overcast and chilly - I am going to clean out the fridge - make a zucchini lasagna - and have fun with the dogs

Have a great day -

Thank you Sandilee!!! Great name with a positive message!
We are off and running again.
Baba- you have to continue being our conductor- giving that gentle push and encouragement.
Climb on board everyone! We are off again!
