Oh! One thing I forgot to mention. When my son went to sign his lease, they had on the lease that he had a dog---- a Boston Terrier!!!! We started to laugh and said we did have a Boston, but she was no longer with us and the agent said it was a mistake. She had just typed up another lease for someone else who had an 18 pound Boston moving in with her!!
Just thought that was funny.

HI all,
Back from Tallahassee and exhausted! We spent from Friday to Sunday night getting him set up in his apartment- thankfully, we found a mattress store right near his apartment and the mattresses we picked out were delivered on Saturday so he could sleep in there even though the furniture won't arrive for about 10 days. Washer and dryer will be delivered next week and Comcast should be hooked up this Thursday. My DH helped assemble his desk and an entertainment center. We got home last night around midnight and I dragged myself to work this morning. My feet are killing me! It was smart to go up there a month early since it takes so long to get everything arranged and he needs to be ready for school in August. So far he is very appreciative of everything we have done for him. Hope this continues. I had to dip into my retirement to help him out that's the only downside to the whole thing.
AJ- I read on Facebook you were trying something new, I know you will give it an honest try and hope you fill us in on it- especially if it's successful. I need to do something, just can't seem to commit to anything. This trip I really went crazy with food and I know I don't feel well because of what I ate.
Grand, Baba, Bog, Kayweb, Whimsy, Sandilee- whereever you are and whatever you're doing I hope you are having fun!

AJ sorry to hear of your depression. There must have been a Spring Fling and everyone came away with a case of depression.
Wishing you great success with your new plan ! Great increase on your bike!

Sorry I've been MIA. I've had the worst case of depression. It hasn't been this bad since 2007. Usually I can keep it at bay through eating right, exercising and progressing towards my goals. Since I haven't done much on eating and progressing it kind of snuck up on me.

We just got back from a vacation in Utah. We visited lots of family and friends, and even saw the Dump Fire. Another fire started that weekend, but we missed it. We drove through that town the day before the fire started and now it is entirely evacuated. Crazy.

While we were on vacation at our friend's house I skimmed through a book. I know it's what I'm supposed to be doing. It is exact opposite of what people tell me I should do...including sparkpeople. And especially related to my possible pcos. I found direction on a website so although I couldn't get the book for myself right now I could at least start. Day one down and I varied from the plan just a little and not enough to hinder me (I think). My numbers are in range with what the program tells me. I'll fill you in more later if all goes well. If not, I'll just chalk it up to experience. I probably won't track my food other than making sure I make the right choices, but I was interested to see how the numbers will line up when I'm doing it right. The only rough spot all day was the stretch approaching dinner so I know I'll have to get good snacks in at that time of day. It's funny that the more I study and the more I listen to my body the more I realize that the best plan has always been the one I started in 1999. I keep going back to that. The only difference this time is less meat and more beans. ha ha I LOVE beans!!!

One good thing...I got on the stationary bike tonight. Last time I tracked it (I won't say how long ago) I managed to get up to 16 miles per hour in spots, but struggled to get more that 7 miles in half an hour. Tonight I got up to 18 miles per hour a couple times and 7.42 miles in the half hour. Every improvement is exciting!

Hi all!
Thanks for the congratulations on my anniversary. Unfortunately right after that we got into a rip roaring fight about our 36 year old son. We allowed him to move back in and it's caused so much tension and aggravation - he has many issues- we will need to force him to move out again.
Summer school began today and only 3 kids showed up today. I'm expecting 8 so more should be there tomorrow. Seems the buses had route problems.
Grand- sure glad you had fun and yes one day we will meet at that beach you like to go to.
This Thursday I have to bring the youngest up to Tallahassee- he's moving into an apartment near FSU and getting ready to start Law school. We now need to buy furniture, etc and get him settled. So we will be up there a few days. Keep me up to date on your progress with the sleeve procedure. I still keep hoping to find a plan that will work for me, just not surgery of any kind.
Kayweb- you seem to have found a way to make it work for you! Keep up the great work.
Bog- try to rest as much as you can- love the theme you have planned for the baby's room.
It sounds like fun. Name choice sounds great too!
Take care all!

Bogdana; Glad the headaches are gone ! Sorry that you are understaffed at work, just should NOT happen to any one in your condition !

Shekirk: 29 wonderful years together congrats ! I have 3 50th wedding ann. parties this summer. One is my brothers. They put their wedding together within 2 weeks the first time and most people couldn't make it. So when the kids said that they wanted a surprise party I told them this wasn't the time for that. I was more or less told it didn't matter. But then their MOTHER asked if they where planning a party because there are many people that they want to invite with plenty of time to do so, they had to back down from their idea. I'm so glad because many people from the Southern branch of the family had hoped that they would get news of the party early to get cheaper tickets to come up !!!!! WOOHOO !!!!

Hope that everyone is doing well and working to move the scale in the downward postion ! If not, I have found a way to lower the scale, just lean on something when you get on and DON"T Let Go !!!!! TEehee ! Have a Grand Day All !

Sorry i havent been on much, I fell off my calorie tracking. Not doing it today either :P work has been cruelly busy and understaffed so I'm not even eating enough OR healthy on those days. Grr. Good news is my headaches are MUCH better!! I haven't taken any meds for it in weeks. Thank god. I was getting hopeless! I have new pains of course! But nothing as disabling as those terrible migraines. Ahhhh!
Shekirk congrats on 29 years!!
Grand, we are doing an ocean theme for the baby's room (one of these days)! And we like the name Gunnar. It's Scandinavian without being too weird lol.

I have made it through two parties and this is day 4 of the Challenge. I have logged in all my food, water and exercise! I was very surprised to see that I have not been eating enough calories according to SP so I let the flood gates open on Sat. for the parties and ate my healthy foods and when the day came to an end for eating I logged in everything that I'd written down. Surprise I finally had the daily report tell me that I had eaten enough calories, carbs, protein, fat and fiber ! That was nice, so why did I get on the scale this morning? Really have to keep off that thing until I have completed the week. This morning I was a pound up :( ! Seeing that I started on a Thursday has me upside down and inside out! So, I'm not going to change my tracker.
I have visited my stationary bike, my urban rebounder, and walking again. Doing some videos from the challenge for strength trainning and I hurt from inactivity! Happy Days are here again !!!! Hope that everyone is doing well and seeing progress!

Today I signed up once again for the 8 week Diabetes challenge here on SP! This was day ! and I have been doing rather well. I figured that my calories would be way high and I should add about 300 for a balanced program.

Did some of the strength trainning video workout and was ready to fall over after my mile walk around the yard in this 100 degree temps we are having today.

Hoping all are doing well and staying cool ! Off to the pool now !

Hey, all. Lucky & I just got home from the beach. I had a great time. I went alone again, but I am used to it. I just walk myself in to whatever restaurant, bar, show that I want to go to and don't care. I dreaded coming back. Not doing well with food, but moving much more. Spending time reading & in the sun, my usual routine. I have several of the tests & appts set up for this summer for the sleeve surgery. Sometimes I am all for it 'I can't do it', and other times I am like 'go back to WW & hit the gym and do what you can at the gym'...so I've just been trying to do lots of soul searching this summer. I adopted another dog from the shelter, I can't remember if I told you guys or not. He's 6+, a hound mix (body of a boxer with a beagle head), and has definitely lived up to the name I gave him - Jesse James - he's kept me busy, breaking collars, slipping collars, chewing tie out lines, getting his tie out wrapped around trees down the bank of the creek, etc etc. My dad has been having good & bad days. My brother is busy with his ball camps, etc. He was rehired so he will be tenured this school year.

Shekirk - I've missed ya. Congrats on the anniversary. 21st would have been mine. Diet - the sleeve is supposed to be in the middle - it is not the band, but not as drastic as the bypass. I am seriously getting ready for it, doing the appts, but I am still torn about it...but I am too young to hurt like this all the time & I am so worried about my mobility. I walk like I am 90! Maybe one day you can meet Lucky & me at the beach or somewhere in the southeast.

Baba - I've missed ya. Sounds like you are keeping focused & moving this turtle train ahead. I read a great book The Girl with the Dragon Tatto. I am going to read the series. I also am going to start researching the Hatfields/McCoys - it is a local family feud, but Kevin Costner did a miniseries on the History Channel last month - and it has really got me curious, I may even have a family tie with them.

Bog - I would say your hormones are going crazy...so sorry, but it will all be worth it when the baby gets here. Baby names? Baby room colors/theme?

Kay - I hear ya on the computer trouble. I pay way too much for the internet & cell service I get here...I've complained and complained. I think I may switch companies.

AJ, Sandille, Whimsy, MVS, and all else - Hope all is well. Take care.

Have a great rest of the week & weekend. Keep the turtle train moving! Good luck & take care!

One day Baba we will be together!! Right now we are like bookends one at each end of the country. Baba you sure sound busy. I have to clean out draws and toss stuff but having trouble tossing things. It seems I can't part with any of the stuff my kids made over the years.
Need to unload a ton of books- the library will take some of them, but not any of the reference books or college text books the kids didn't sell back. I look at all my stuff and am starting to feel like a hoarder!
Trying to pull all the essentials for Aaron together that we need to take and list everything we need to buy when we get there. It's exciting, but also nerve racking. Money is so tight so I have to be careful, but I know he's finally on the right track. Working this summer will be helpful.
Trying to watch what I'm eating but it's hard with no set routine each day. Need to work it out.
Regards to everyone!

Shekirk - was hoping you would have more of a break - of course you can always come and see me !!!

beautiful day - sun is shining - slight breeze and about 70% - the skies are clear - there has been rain daily for weeks and very chilly - I do live it but today reminds me of how much I also love the drafts and brightness -

Things are crazy - I am having a few things done to the house - I have this long list - I am rearranging things as well - My piano will now go in the back office which will now be my studio/study/office etc - I had tons of shelves put in the large closet to house all the piano supplies as well as whatever else is in there - - My big entertainment center finally made it to my house after being shuffled around to the kids because it is too big and too heavy - etc - I am having my repair people come and somehow get it in the house and make some minor repairs to it - I love the piece - had it in FL where the ceiling are high and rooms open - I am excited to have it back again -

going to doc about 3 times a week - walking better - yippee

Have a great day !!

Hi all
Love being on vacation, but also busy getting Aaron ready to leave for Tallahassee.
It's a long trip - about 7 hours, but we will stop in Orlando and then continue on the next day.
Somehow we have to buy furniture, get his apartment set up and hope it's all delivered the next day so he can stay up there instead of coming back with us. I do go back to work for the summer in a few weeks so I can't just stay up there and help him.
Hope everyone is keeping cool!

Last day of students today and our end term dinner was wonderful.
Of course it was way too much food - delicious Italian family style meal. Tomorrow is a teacher work day and then summer vacation.
I need to start fresh on my goals to lose weight and get healthy!
Still trying to get used to these new progressive lenses and having a hard time. If my brain doesn't accept it soon I'll have to return them and just keep using the over the counter readers. Sad, since the distance part does makes things a bit clearer.
Hope all is well with everyone!

Maybe our next theme should be "ease on down the road" since so many of us are dealing with our own stresses - I like that and am singing the song as I write !

So -hip is doing a bit better after the shot - should take another week or so to really see if it works - hope it does because surgery is not on my bucket list -

took out meal plans today - finally will get to them - I need to make a plan or I do not do well - I did weigh over the weekend and gained 6 pounds - yuck - but now that I am hoping to move better - I will be able to stand and cook etc -

I read something interesting that really got me thinking - it was about photography which I am not into because I am not good at it -but then I never really tried - the message was - you do not "take" a picture - you "receive" the picture - At first I did not get it until I was driving home from the doctor this morning - I saw a beautiful flowering bush on the side of a dilapidated home - At first glance - the house was ugly and a mess - but then I zeroed in on the bush and I did receive such an uplifting feeling of beauty - that little message about photography has me looking at things differently today - now -can we all look at ourselves and "receive" the wonder, the beauty and the good ?- just a thought

Have a great day!

One more week of school and this year will be over.
Weigh in this morning was 226.6. Down a couple of pounds, but not sure how.
Youngest son has come home for the month and then we will move him up to Tallahassee in July. Another apartment to furnish - another place to visit once in a while.
Sorry I've been so scarce around here, work has been exhausting and I get home tired and usually stressed out.
Hope the summer will allow me to ease up a bit.

Absolute surrender lets new possibilities emerge - I got to thinking about that statement - it like the phoenix rising from the ashes after complete destruction - do we have to reach that state in order to see the new possibilities - or perhaps take action against things we see but let slip by ??? how do I define absolute surrender? and what is it called when thinking is in between ego and that surrender?

going for my massage this morning - then running errands - I have needed a new battery for my laptop for months -

gained 4 pounds since the hip went out - but going to hospital for a guided shot on Friday - looking forward to moving more

have a great day - give yourself permission to change - to take that big step in health and well being - you are worth it !

I just get started up again and it is looking like I'm going to be losing my computer again! Hope that it isn't going to be a drawn out affair! Good Day to all !!

June is almost here and I am in sweats - freezing with the heat up and up -- There are several June birthdays in my family so I am trying to figure out something fun to do - no one likes parties but I thought some kind of adventure might be fun -

I have decided to read books over the summer - but these books will only be ones will be followed by a movie - I am picking one up today at the library today - I think the movie comes out in OCT starring actors from Vampire Diaries and Twilight as well as others - I thought that was a neat combination - and the book is not about vampires - but about wallflowers -

Have a great day - make wise choices - be grateful - and find joy

Oh my B0GDANA ! Do you feel better after your bawling? I know that I do! Some times we just need to clear out the tear ducts !

Please ladies, take a look at Zeldabee's vlog on her blog! Zoe just loved looking at Chloe on the computer!

I'm not proud of myself today, there must be something about weigh-in's on Wed. For I just had to know where I was on the scale today and it said that I'd put on 5#'s ! One day I will learn to stay off the scale on Wed. I have an apt. with the Endo on Tues. next week and had the blood work done yesterday and wish that I knew how my A1C test right now. Will have to wait until Tuesday to get the results. Then I'm hoping to start once again with eating healthy and doing a little more exercise again.

Going to have to get this computer set to sparkpeople again. I don't get any info from them any more and so i don't know when someone has stopped in on a chat that I have been too. I don't even get the spark mails!

Computers are good when they are working perfect, but other wise they drive me to eat !
Sounds like many people have been really working under pressure here!

So to get back on track I'm just going to say that my heart goes out to each and everyone!

The answer to our troubles lie within ourselves. We all need and must connect with the healthy living lifesyles that we all know so well. I have been holding my own, but can not to any form of exercise due to my blood sugars jumping up into the 200-300 range when I do anything other than my 30 min dog walk in the early morning hours. It is driving me crazy now that the lawn has to be mowed and it has to be done weekly and it takes an hour. I have twice now started out the day at 98 blood sugars and come back in after mowing the lawn to a 220 reading that stays with me most of the rest of the day. And the endo doc doesn't know what to do with this. Except to tell me not to work out. So no more 3 mile walks, etc.
I have been holding my own at 260. I'm happy that it has been staying around that mark week after week, but I'm really wanting to get down to the 250''s so badly that I'm ready to just stop eating! Know that I can't do that either. Glad to be back and happy to see that so many people are around to chat with .

Hi all!!
Wow Kayweb so glad to see you back here! Missed you much!!
I was worried that you weren 't feeling well, so glad it was just the computer.
Baba- sorry to hear about the wedding. I know how much you were looking forward to it and all the work that went into it. Hope your DD resolves the situation and moves ahead with her life- she sure deserves some happiness. How is the baby doing?
Grand- I never heard of the sleeve - I'm so afraid of surgery, so not sure I would have the nerve to do it. I do have a few friends (teachers at my school )who did the bypass surgery and lost a lot of weight, but it was a rough go for them. They are fine now, but need to be careful because they do start to gain weight again. Hopefully, the sleeve isn't as drastic.
I wish I could meet you at the beach! We finish work June 8th and then I have to help my son move to Tallahassee, come back and work this summer in summer school. Then back to Tallahassee to help him set up before law school. No vacation this year.
AJ - glad the doctor is working with you. It makes me think about my high blood pressure, cholesterol, etc. I read your blog and I had so many of the symptoms that you mentioned when I was younger.
Weight wise I'm still sitting at 228 and can't get it down. At this point, I'm waiting for school to end and start again in the summer on what I'm eating.
Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! Stay safe all!!

It is not immoral not to finish a meal, but it is of questionable morality to treat yourself like a waste-disposal system.

HELLO EVERYONE!!!!

Have been having computer troubles and I don't know if anyone else has been having the slow down on the Sparkpeople site? It was taking about 10 mins to leave a huddle and I just finally walked away from the site. Today I finally got to thinking about everyone and so far I'm moving right along. I've not been getting any of the sites in my emails so I don't know what was going on. I have not taken the time to read the chats here and am just going to start up again Hope EVERYONE is doing well. Grand I did read your last entry!
Go for the surgery. I have some wonderful friends who have had great success. I'm glad to hear that you are with a Doc who takes the time to do all the tests and the pshy eval. It is the most important to a successful out come to the surgery. I have to say that I would do it tomorrow if I didn't have the medical problems that won't let them do it !
The Pups and I are doing well. Still standing at 260# wish it would drop down into the 250's !

Glad to see you too! Good luck with all that prepping for the sleeve! Hannahs as spry as ever despite being old. Always playing and acting crazy. Three more weeks til we find out the sex of the baby. We can't wait to find out! Today I had my first true hypoglycemic experience. Luckily it happened at work! Good day to be an ER nurse hahaha. I did a flight if stairs, went to the locker room and got dizzy, cold sweats, nausea... I almost passed out. I even had the confusion too which means that sugar was pretty low!! I couldn't figure out how to use my phone. Eventually I figured it out and called up front and had three people come back and give me juice! Afterwards i really felt scared. I could have seized back there and no one would have known. I have more experience than most folks seeing what happens to low blood sugar patients so I panicked after I felt better! From now on I'm to drink milk and eat a spoonful of PB before I leave home (usu on work days I'll pickup breakfast, which is why I didn't eat- I DID have water and juice before I left bc I thought I was dehydrated).

Hey, all. Enjoying my days in the sun! Diet horrible, but I have begun writing down everything I am eating/drinking in a spiral notebook...it takes one entire page & half the back to list..if that tells you anything! I kept my appt with dr about the bariatric surgery...she said I was a good candidate for the 'sleeve' ...between the bypass & the band. My insurance requires 6 mths being followed by dr, before it will pay for the surgery. The dr requires psych evaluation, echo-cardiogram, sleep apnea test, blood work, light down your gut...lots of tests. I scheduled many of them for this summer - the soonest I could have it would be Christmas break. I have been moving lots, lots more than normal - walking 4 dogs instead of 3...feeding/watering 5 instead of just 4 - but I love my new addition. I guess, where I don't have a hubby/kids - I've created my own little doggie family. Rented tons of movies The Vow, Ides of March, New Yrs Eve, Young Adult, The Girl with the Dragon tattoo (I'm going to read it now), One Day, new Footloose - all are pretty good rentals. I cannot believe I am considering surgery - I always swore I would never do it, but I don't know what else to do...I am over 45 BMI, I am 55% fat, and I am 298....I am tired of hurting with my back/leg/foot...I can't do it on my own anymore.

BOG - I am so glad to see you post. I tried to skim the posts - you're pregnant? Congrats, girl! Boy? girl? How's your dogs?
BABA - Sorry to hear about the wedding ordeal, maybe it's what is best, you know what I mean, but I hear you on the money and your DD. Let us know about your hip appt. I know what it does to you to hurt all the time.
SHEKIRK - I love being home. My blood pressure has been normal every day since school has been out! I leave for the beach June 9 - you ought to drive up & meet us...just Lucky & me going again. I did get a new vehicle, an SUV, so hopefully, the trip won't get me down in my back as badly. How's school going? My new addition is a cutie. I use my laptop so much now - I need to be on my big computer to upload pics - I do have some on fbook.
AJ - You always seem to do well with the naturopath stuff. I hope it is going well.
Whimsy, MVS, Sandilee, Kay and all else - Hope all is well!

Have a great week! Good luck! Take care! Positive turtle vibes to all!!

What a day - what a mess - The wedding was called off this morning only hours before the guests started to arrive. The groom decided that he was not ready - this - after postponing 3 times before - There are some really horrid things that his family did to my DD - but for now - the 2 of them are going away for 2 days to think about their lives and what they want alone or together - I am exhausted -

don't know about my weight - probably up but I will check next week - right now I am being miserable about all the lost money and the total disregard for the feeling of my DD by some very sick people -

The gardener is here putting in some plants and sprucing the place up a bit - My DS will be over shortly - he is moving closer to his work which will be great - I am anxious to see the new place-

Still going in for my hip I have a tear in the cartilage that surrounds the hip joint - both hips !!! yeee gads --- I said I did not want surgery so we are trying a few other things first -

Have a great weekend -

Right now he is reading my medical history. We have blood tests scheduled for 4 weeks from now to check my potassium and kidneys, etc. Hopefully, we'll continue with the tests that will tell us for sure that PCOS is what's going on.

During my appointment he was going to have me look PCOS up online. I told him I'd already looked into it. He asked if it was possible that I had it. I said, "It's very likely." So much better than getting ignored when I bring it up.

I've been doing alot of reading this week. I have ALL the symptoms. Or have had...a couple of them have improved since I started seeing the naturopath. The best thing for it is to eat a vegetarian diet (started in January), exercise, and control weight. I'm thinking no wonder the Honduran diet was so good for me. What gets me is that untreated, PCOS leads to high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes and heart disease. It also can cause the thyroid problems I've been having. I always thought my blood pressure was a symptom instead of being the cause.

Hi all,
Not losing or gaining just staying the same.
Baba - hope you heal up quickly! Wishing all that pain away. Glad you got to the shower and had fun and ate that cake!! Once in a while you need that. One day we will share a chocolate chip cookie together!!
Bog- how is the pregnancy going? Are the headaches gone ? Hungry means your healthy so enjoy it.
AJ- so what is this new doctor doing? Most of the doctors down here are fast paced, although you wait in the waiting room for hours sometimes. Hope whatever he does keeps you free of diabetes, etc.
Work is slowly grinding to a close with all kinds of drama - can't wait for it to end. The more I do this, the more I can't wait to retire. Have to try to stick it out a bit longer.
Enjoy the weekend!

That sounds like a relief! My husbands urologist is like that. Fast paced, talks like a textbook but he knows his stuff and cares. We love him!

I haven't gone to the gym in ages. I'm being a slacker. In keeping calories around 2200 mOst days, best I can do right now I'm ALWAYS hungry!

Today I saw another new doctor because the last one moved. I'm getting very tired of this. However, I left this doctor's office feeling more hope than I've felt in a long time. He was faster paced than I am used to and it was a challenge to really talk to him, but at the same time he seemed to be on top of things and able to make a quick decision on what might be going on. He was the one who mentioned pcos and that made me feel good. Until now every doctor has danced around it, but never done anything about it...EVEN WHEN I TELL THEM I HAVE SYMPTOMS. It makes me angry! But I left his office today feeling like he really cares about my health and will help me rather than let me slip into diabetes and heart disease because it's inevitable.

checking in - I am using a walker and a cane - have been to doctors since last wee- going every day and twice tomorrow to see a specialist - seems my hip or back or something - extreme pain in hip and down I go - could not even take one step - have been sitting for days if not at docs - have no idea what is going on - xrays of hips are ok-

I did manage to wheel into the bridal shower - My oldest picked me up and off we went - sat through the whole thing once I got in and enjoyed every moment - I am determined to be standing by the wedding on Sat -

gained weight - no moving - and then the cake at the shower - wish I had a bag of choc chip cookies right now but will not give in since I can't get to the store anyway -

Hi to all - be back after the wedding or maybe before - ????

GRAND - glad to see you on here

Hi there,
Grand - so glad to see your post! Another fur baby - you are a brave soul.
We've been busy here. Orlando was fun, walked the entire Universal park - both Islands of Adventure and Universal - ate at Citywalk - had ice cream at Hard Rock where we stayed.
The boys all got me gift certificates to a store called Beales - It has a lot of clothes my size and loads of sales - can't wait to shop. Last time I went to Universal I didn't try to ride the Harry Potter ride because the test chair wouldn't close - this time I did ride it and had a great time! I also tasted Butterbeer- when in Hogsmeade - and all the shops mentioned in the books looked so real!! So much fun.
Still at work- school ends on June 7th for students and June 8th for me. I will teach summer school this year.
Youngest son - we told to stop working and come home- he will stay with us for one month and then leave for FSU Law school. He wants to move into his apartment July 1st - He also was accepted to Univ. of Fla Law School - ranked a little higher but no scholarship - so we will stick with FSU - can't turn down what they have offered him. And being at the state capitol will give him a broader range of opportunities.
Hope everyone is doing great! I did gain a few pounds and hope to shed them by this weekend!
Take care all!!!

Hey, all! Happy Summer! My last day of work was this past Friday. Sorry, I have been MIA. Work - testing- was insane the last ten days of school; it was a really busy time. I have been worn out - sleeping way too much. Lucky was sick again - not a seizure - throat infection again. He's doing better. My brother's b-day was today - so a little party - so Lucky is loving it. I rescued a dog...his name is Jesse, a hound-mix. He's six plus years. His owners took him to my neighboring county's animal shelter - just didn't want him anymore; he had been there since November - they were going to put him down. I saw him on the Adopt-A-Pet program on local tv here - it was like he was looking right at me through the tv screen - I went to get him! He has been a handful - he's not used to wearing a collar at all - slipped 5 different types - I had to chase him Sat/Sun ( I got him on Sat)...now he is wearing one of Lucky's old harnesses til I find one like it, a size bigger. It's snug on him, but he's not been able to slip it and take off. .so I am a Momma of 5 now. DIet is not good at all. My appt is May 17 about the surgery. Since school is out I have been moving alot more; I've walked all the dogs every day I've been off...it's been dreary weather here..can't wait til my Mr. Sunshine gets here. I also had 5 inches cut off my hear...it's a little above my bra strap now ...which is super short for me...I feel like a big ole boy! I leave for the beach June 9 - can't wait!

I will get caught up on posts! Missed everybody! Take care! Have a great day! Grand

Life has been crazy and I've been maintaining. I stopped taking the Real W8. I wasn't losing anything while taking it, and I think it was making me more sensitive to carbs. The next step would be to not eat starchy foods at all in order to lose weight and I won't do that. If I did, I'd just gain it all back when I started eating starchy things again.

So my goals:
Eat 4 veggies and 3 fruits daily.
Eat sugary things once a week or less.

I know I make poor choices when I am very tired - for some reason I think that sugar and even eating extra good stuff will perk me up - It is not that I don't have a thought in my head - I just want to feel better so I eat -thinking I will get some energy -

Shekirk, your statement "Just seem to be making poor choices on purpose." was me exactly last week! A friend asked me WHY and I couldn't give her an answer. I've been back on track a couple of days now and feeling better about it all.

I am also up - but then I take full responsibility because even thought we have a new shiny wonderful train, I neglected to take a glance at the tracks - Now I know - the train was on the same track !!! no worry - I fixed it - now we are on the "fast track" - the new and improved track - taking us straight to the YIPPEE town - so strap in - it's going to be a fast and furious ride !!!

Really cold here - woke up to a 60% house and had to turn the heat on -

Going to oldest DD house where the wee one is this morning - It will be fun to spend time there - I don't see the oldest DD often as she is way too busy - then home to cook and redo the fridge -

Having mattresses delivered this morning for the guest room - of course I think I am being ridiculous as I never have guests !! but I hate to see the room set up and no mattresses just in case ??????

Well - the new job seems to be more than a in and out consulting position - guess I am there for a bit - It is exciting to begin new programs from scratch -

Have a great day --

Well, I'm up 2.6 pounds this week. So, I guess I'm causing this train to slow down, too!
I really was a loose cannon for the past few days. Today, I'm watching a little closer.
Just seem to be making poor choices on purpose.

Oh boy! Hope my weigh-in didn't slam this train into reverse! I was bad all week so not too surprised with my 3.4 lb gain! Very disgusted with myself. I won't be going to WW next week so I'm hoping to have that gain back off when I go back in 2 weeks.

Bogdana, hope they find something for your headaches soon.

Well the neurologist was a bust. He was not up to date about headache treatments, nor was he very professional. I kept my original appointment with the highly recommended one for may 30th. I hope he is better.
I ate 2,691 calories today- and ate out for both lunch and dinner. On one hand whoops I went way over. But on the other I ate out twice and still kept it under 3k there's something to be said for that hahahaha

Babas- congrats on taking that consulting job. It's perfect for you!
Whimsy -I sure wish I would use my Wii. I bought it, used it for a short time and now don't use it at all. It sits by the TV and my dh keeps threatening to sell it. Of course, when I did use it he would laugh and take pictures!!
Sandilee and AJ - you guys seem so busy and helping keep this train moving!!!
Hello to Angie - welcome glad you've climbed on board!!!
