Forgot to put my Spark Tracker on my shoe and didn't get my glow getter award on 10/10 !
I would have to say that I did walk my 5,000 steps in 30 mins.
Here it is 10/11 and I only have one more day before I can turn the heat on in the house. Last night got rather chilly, but once in bed I had one of the best nights sleep in some time. I do enjoy sleeping in a cool room with blankets ! Woke this morning with to chilly willy pups under the covers with me. Those cold little noses woke me up !

Hope you have a great day and wonderful weekend ahead.

Need to put that tracker on my shoes and get outside and start my winterization of the house.
Starting with washing the dirty windows.

emoticon Walked the Pups today for the full mile ! They loved it !!!

emoticon Mowed the lawn 10/8 for 60 mins !

Today I raked emoticon for 60 mins and I also spent 60 mins emoticon emoticon . And then I wanted to get those 5,000 steps in and so I walked around the yard this evening for 30 mins and got all the steps in to get my Glow Getter Award.

I'm truly ready for a good night sleep.

When I got off work I picked up my son from school, then got the money from his friend to replace the battery on her car. Then started the walking, other that what I had taken time at work to do. Went to a huge store call Rural something, walked around until we finally found the auto dept. Went to pay for the battery, the guy said we had the wrong one, walked back to the auto dept, turned out we had the right one, walked back up to pay. Took time to have dinner at the pizza place next door. Took the battery to where her battery had died, NO start, walked the battery next door to an automotive store, they tested the battery, Yes it was good, so now what? Finally my son figured out the connectors to the starter were not tight, tightened them, grrrrrmp the car started. YEA!. My son then took the old battery back to get the core fee back. I went to Wal Mart to get my salads for the rest of the week for my lunch. While there picked up a few other things, kept going back and forth because once near the front, I remembered something I wanted from the back, last trip to the back was to get a phone card for my trac phone as the minutes expire today if I did not add minutes, now have over 3250 minutes. Finally got home 930p, I got off work at 430p. My son was home with her car and helped bring in the groceries.

Total minutes walking as near as I can figure 160 minutes. I am exhausted as the dogs decided to sleep with me last night and every time they moved it woke me. Tired.

WooHoo great going OHIOMOM! Yesterday I ended up doing another 10 min walk so it was a 20 min exercise. Today I don't know what got into me, but I did a 41 min walk. I'm paying for it now, but it isn't in the hip ! Yahoo !
Just put a new battery in my Spark Tracker and wouldn't you know it, the battery was new, and registered 20% full of power. I hate it when you purchase something thinking it will be good and you get a battery that isn't even 1/2 full ! So will leave this in for another day or two and put the second one in ! Sure hope that I do better with that one !

October 1 day total was 40 minutes, 10 at lunch and 30 after dinner.

I really need to start walking more, that 30 minutes at one time, well lets say it was not as easy as it used to be.

Good neighbor that helped you, most neighbors just don't get to know each other, at least that has been most of my experience. A few here and there who have been friendly and chatty.

Great to hear from you AJ ! I have not gotten a whole 10 mins of walking at one time in yet today. Yet I know that I will be getting that done rather soon this morning. But in getting the trash out to the curb I have made three trips and that added up to a 10 min walk but broken up. So I will call that extra steps today.

It will be a while before I tackle my stationary bike. Just thinking of getting on the bike hurts my left hip. My neighbor who I share trash container with, told me that she would help me with the stuff and I told her that I was going to do this myself this week. That I need to get back walking etc. She walked with me twice, I have some very dear neighbors who look out for me. I'm so blessed !

Glad to see you are back, kayweb! Little by little you'll get there. Good job on the A1-C.

Starting October off right...

rode the stationary bike for 60 minutes, 15.7 miles, 15.7 mph average speed. That is tons better than last year. I did two of the programs back to back. Last year I would do one, and was struggling to get more than 7 miles in that half hour. Today I did 7.7 and 8.

Since I have started the October walking minutes challenge on several different group sites, it will be easy for me to add my walking minutes to this thread.

Lets hope October will be a great month for adding lots of minutes to our exercise routine.

My routine to start today is to do 10 minutes at lunch, and at least 30 minutes after dinner. That is to start, I want to increas the after dinner minutes as I go along.

Okay guys ! You have done a great job and I'm so happy to see all this activity !
Here it is the 1st of Oct. and the doc has told me that I can start walking by starting with a 10 mins walk and work it up to the 8,000 steps I was doing before I was hurt.

I'm hoping that this will reach you folks that have been using this 10 min challenge daily and that we can start it up once again.
So here is a call out to BABA, AJ, OHIOMOM, GRAND ! Come one come all and help me get going once again.

When I saw the doc he was so happy that I'd taken my A1c reading from 9.6 down to 7.6 even with the fact that the last couple of months I wasn't able to do much but sit. Happy also with the 9 # lose.

This is day 1 and I have walked for 10 mins ! And boy am I out of shape!

Sunday I did about 30 minutes isometric exercises, then I must admit I have done nothing since. I am so disappointed in myself. Back on track today.

Just an aside, I found out Monday that a very dear friend who lives in Colorado died Monday, I am heart broken.

Then my son took my car in for an oil change in his automotice class, found out I was seconds away from having a blowout in one tire, a few miles away for another, those were the two front tires. Apparently I needed an alignment even tho there was no indication in the steering. Then also apparently I need new shocks on the rear (again no problems when driving), but because the shocks are bad they have ruined the two rear tires. Those I just could not afford to replace right now. I should be angry, but actually relieved the problem was found BEFORE an accident. Well, now just trying to come up with the money for all the repairs. At least I could get the two front tires replaced last night. Tired and stressed.

Just didn't get it done on Sunday. The day got away from me.

So, Sept 1 is Day 1...2:26:11 for 25.78 miles at 10.5 average mph. We rode to Lucky Peak. I don't think my legs will be the same.

OHIOMOM - super - just get it in when you can ! keep that new streak going !

Day 14 - walked 90 minutes

all this moving around - I sure thought I would be losing - not so - but I will keep going !!

Been off track for a bit of time now, but today I got in 60 minutes of walking. Maybe get a new streak started.

Day 12 - yesterday 25 min walk with hills
Day 13 - more walking 10 min

I think these are the right day numbers - I need to go back and check my days and dates -
