Wendy, I think you hit the nail on the head... it's been much drier out - I'll bet that's the culprit for the sudden chafing. And Zorbs, it's only about a year old.

How old is that bra? It might need replacing.

Consider yourself lucky, many of us have that issue!
Most days nary a thought to that, then one day OWWWW when you get in the shower. Seems to be worse when it's not quite as humid, for me anyway. Keep the surface moist with something like aquaphor. Be careful of using antibiotics like Neosporin unless you suspect a bacterial infection....short term probably no problem, longer term you might get a secondary yeast infection.
If it's bad enough you might be able to get a transparent film dressing like Tegaderm or Opsite, not sure if it's available OTC.

I swear by this stuff:

www.monistat.com/soothing-care-powde
r-
gel

I use it before runs to prevent, and after runs to soothe (although, when I use it before, I rarely need it after!)

Diaper cream feels good too, but it's messy - so okay at bedtime, but not during the day :)

Aquaphor ... I use it all the time before my long runs and races...then use it after when you are chaffed to speed recovery.

LOL, Sueann!

Thanks to both of you for the advice. I've never had this before. Sadly, I think it's because my boobs have shrunk even smaller, if that's possible.

Keep it clean and dry and apply antibiotic ointment. Try to wear something that does not run in the same area.

So, none of my sports bras have ever caused chafing. I have worn all of them at all distances with nary a problem.

Yesterday, the same bra that I always run in caused HORRENDOUS chafing on a long run.

Now it's simultaneously painful and itchy. Any suggestions to help speed the healing?
