The desire to do better is always a good start. Good luck and let me know if you need anything. I have a hard time keeping a routine in the morning or before bed. So I understand, but don't give up, some day you'll get there, but if you give up, your guaranteed to never get there.

I have to figure out how early I need to get prepared in the morning. Too early does not seem to work. Too late and it does not help either. Serious thought is needed. Punctuality is desired.

Today's struggle is something I have no control over. My parents, who just retired a couple years ago are looking at getting jobs. I'm concerned for them and wish they could simply enjoy their retirement. They are awesome parents and they deserve better from life.

CJBIRDJO - look on the bright side. You may not have the energy / motivation level you want, but you had enough to do a toning video and a load of laundry. Some people have fits of depression that leaves them bed-ridden for days or weeks at a time. Also remember each time you do something (even if you have to struggle to do it) it creates a 'block' for you to build on. Don't compare yourself to what you want to be, be grateful that you are better than you were.

It's a great day, albeit chilly here in Northern Wisconsin. c:

I've a day off of work today, and have done a couple of things, but seem to be struggling with lack of energy.

I did manage to get in a toning video, and a load of laundry, but haven't really done anything else.

Great advice and I know because I followed it! Yep, I am feeling so much better. At first, I was resentful because it happened during my mini-vacation. But, I soon realize that since I was off work, there was no excuse for not taking care of me FIRST. Sometimes I think I get too focus on others and other stuff.

Thanks again.

4EVER21B - Take care of it as soon as it comes. It's like cleaning, if you keep on top of it, it's not so bad and doesn't take too much time to maintain. Drink tea with honey and/or lemon, gargle with warm salt water and make sure you get plenty of water. A sore throat can often become something else if you don't care of it right away. Good luck and keep us posted as you how you're feeling.

SUESMITH73 - Motivation is hard, but it's even harder, if not impossible, if your completely drained of daily energy. My suggestion is to start with something that is relaxing and recharging; read, take a bath, light a candle, sit and do nothing for 5-10 minutes - anything that makes you feel like you again. Without it, motivation may be impossible to find - take care and good luck.

Laziness is okay if it's justified and minimal - it's called a break or relaxing. If you had a stressful time at your moms or a stressful travel to or from your moms, your body might be telling you it needs a break. And if that's the case, give it a break.

Regret (and worry) is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do, but doesn't accomplish anything. So learn from the past, but don't dwell there or your depression will get worse instead of better. Many people think they have to dwell on regrets to motivate them, but it actually works in the opposite direction. Regret pulls you into the past and starts a cycle of reminding you of all the things you should have or could have done. Sometimes it's even desperate enough to make stuff up. Try to use the feeling of regret as a trigger to take a minute and think it through realistically. Ask yourself; Could you really have done anything better or different? Sometimes we honestly can't and our best doesn't always look good until we compare it to our true worst. What can I learn from this? You can always lean something, even if it's as simple as 'some people are rude and I can't change them.' Do I need to take any action in order to move forward? Do you need to forgive yourself or someone else or even ask for forgiveness (be sure your ready in case their not ready to forgive) in order to take the next step? Regret is not the end of something, it's a trigger that something else should begine - growth.

On Lethargy - You may want to look at a few things. #1 are your sleeping habits working for you? If your not getting 7-8 hours of sleep, you're probably not getting what you need. You may want to work on that. Try setting a 'night' routine. Sometimes your body gets use to it and it can be like a trigger to 'get tired.' #2 Be careful of what your eating and drinking in the evenings. It's hard to sleep on a full stomach and it takes at least 7 hours (for most people) for caffeine to not effect their sleep. And finally #3 if you've looked at all your habits and none of them seem to be the issue, talk to your doctor. Lethargy can be a side effect of so many things and if it isn't than you can work with your dr to fix it.

On having a Sense of no Accomplishments. That's just crazy. We all accomplish things every day. Even if they are little things we often don't count. Like for me, honestly, getting out of bed and taking a shower is the start of a good day. I suffer from depression and getting out of bad and taking a shower every day is hard. So just because your not creating a masterpiece every day doesn't mean you aren't accomplishing anything. And it doesn't mean you've never done anything big. My sister-in-law, who also suffers from depression, keeps a journal by her bed and all it has in it is a list of accomplishments, good qualities and blessings. On really bad days she takes a couple minutes to read a page or two and remind herself, she isn't as bad as she thinks she is. We all have bad days, but they don't have to stay bad if we're prepared for them.

MIDDLTEACH - Heck ya that is considered exercise - it's on the Spark list of exercises and look at the results. You can't argue with that. Just because your not doing 'exercise' that you have to force yourself to do and hate doesn't mean it isn't work. Be grateful that you found something you love and that benefits you so much. Instead of feeling guilty, rejoice in blessings your hobbies have given you.

ROCHELLE62 - Ahh, yes the wonderful world of snoozing. My husband use to tell me I could be an Olympic napper if it was a sport. But as much as I love to nap, I found that it messed up a lot of other things in my life. I use to force myself to stay awake during the day by forcing myself to do things ...anything. I would walk, clean, do dishes, plan meals, write letters. Another thing you might want to consider is making a 'plan' or a deal with yourself that you aren't allowed to read until you've done 5 or 10 minutes of exercise. Exercising will help get your heart pumping and help keep you awake while your reading and you'll enjoy reading more because you won't feel guilty that you should be exercising.

I struggle with the guilt I feel for not doing CARDIO. I'm active, work full time, and garden whenever I can (usually several hours a week). My weight is dropping steadily, so do you think my gardening is my cardio? (I get my heart rate to around 110-115) I've been counting it as that- but I still feel guilty about it. I also wear a pedometer and manage to walk 3000-8000 steps a day.

Lord, make my words sweet and tender- for tomorrow I may have to eat them!
