the YMCA has a free daycare called Totwatch so while I work out she gets to play with other babies her age. I go everyday before work and on my days off I go later in the day. So far it has worked out great for me.

Getting everyone out the door in the morning is hectic. I get up at 5 but that involves showering and getting ready for the day, sending hubby off to work and dressing a toddler and infant. So I have no time in the am. I put the kiddos to bed and then do a workout. Either walking on my elliptical or doing the next move dvd from Weight watchers ( i am not on that program though) it combines cardio and weights and is awesome.

I'm so worried about this as well. I'm starting back to work on Monday and I dread having so much less time to be with my son. On top of that he has reflux and we spend so much time feeding, and keeping him upright after feeding.

I wish I could combine everything into one massive multi-tasking day. Fold the laundry while holding and feeding son, all while walking on the treadmil. Sure, I can do that!

I am going to try starting a new workout before anyone gets up in the morning. I also take my kids with me when I go on walks.....it's keeps me going knowing that I have them with me!

I work out at home, but just don't seem to see any change. I have lost 44 LBS since I had my son 8 months ago but have not dropped any sizes. As crazy as that seems to me. Anyone know any good size dropping workouts? I walk 3 1/2 miles every day (7 days) then I do a 10 min ab dvd 4 days a week and I do some weight lifting 2 days a week.
thanks

Exercise bands can be used while watching TV too. I figure if I am just sitting on the couch why not get some exercise. Walmart and target have them and they usually coem with a little booklet of exercises. Of course I haven't used mine since I got pregnant, but now its time to break them out again. I also use a push mower instead of a rider, if I have time. My lawn is 4.4 miles to mow with a push mower- we checked with a pedometer. Takes at least 3 1/2 hours to do. Now that burns TONS of calories.

They have 10 minute work out videos on On Demand for Comcast that are free. And I also do 15 minutes on the elliptical in the morning and at night when the boys go to bed.

The ankle weights are a great idea!!!

Nursefroggy, the ankle weights while doing housework was a great idea. Thanks for sharing! I will have to get some and wear them while I watch tv and walk.

I have been able to find some great workout tapes/dvds on ebay. They are cheap and it doesn't matter that they are used. Also sometimes I will put on little ankle weights while I am doing housework to burn a few extra calories.

My grandmother has a pool, so we take the kids swimming a lot. I play with the kids in the pool when we first get in. Then I have my husband or mother watch the kids while I swim some laps. This is great exercise for our entire family. Oh, my 3 month old hangs out on a patio swing under fans with great-grandmother.

I agree with Irishnavylady. Workout DVD's are the greatest when you can't/don't get out to a gym. Alot of cable providers now have workout vid's available all the time. So you might want to check and see if your provider does the same. I know ours gives us a ton of workouts that are all different for free.

Most of us work out at home. We get DVD's and do them with the kids right there. I use the exercise ball so that my kids and play along. I hope that helps.
