Hi all! I am back on track with my weight loss after being in denial for about 2 years haha. Hopefully the weather will start warming up so I can go on walks and enjoy our beautiful county! Also, kinda random, but I am also a new Scentsy consultant :) Scentsy is basically a wickless candle, where you have a jar that heats up by lightbulb and you put wax in the lid and as it is a liquid, it smells up your whole house! Its is amazing how wonderful the smells are and how much money it saves in the long run! There are a ton of different styles and smells as well as other products such as lotions, laundry detergents, soaps, even car freshners! I've been keeping up with my workouts but have gone to two days rest between them. To compensate, I've added two hr. cardio workouts a week. I'm very happy to say that I've lost 40 lbs. since the first of the year.

I am recovering from a week long Horrible cold.. the cough just won't go away and I barely have my voice back.
BUT I bought a new "workout" shirt on clearance at Old Navy and am motivated to get out and get walking!

Will check my schedule when I get it tonight and see who is free to walk this week!

Hi everyone, or just you Kosta. Hello is anyone else here? A walk at Veterans Park sounds great. When you get your schedule maybe we can plan a walk there or at the mall. I have been adding some walking time to my workout cooldown to build up my endurance for outside walks.

Turns out Veterans Park in Mentor has a one mile long loop trail that they PLOW in the winter if you wanted to walk there.. and smaller loops if you want to start small.

lots of dog walkers the two times I have been there.

Hope this team gets going when the weather perks up...

I bought the fixin's for tuna muffins but never made them. I hope to make them this weekend. I don't work at all this weekend so planning lots of cleaning, bit of yard work and Exercise!

anyone here do a vegetable garden? I am thinking of covering a icky area with Strawberries and then putting other edibles in a flower garden that never quite lives due to being shady.

I can walk Monday or Tuesday this week coming up ... any takers??

day 2 of can't stop craving carbs... it got just warm enough and now I am crazy out of sync.

anyone else find the weather really affects their eating habits?
I brought in oranges to snack on instead of junk.. lets hope it is warm enough for me to follow through.

Go Read "30 reasons to lose 30 pounds" from our member 777Grace. Great Reasons!

Looks like no walking this week but Next Week.. come on folks.. put in the nights you can go... lets get a list going! lets make a plan! I won't get my schedule till Friday but if you guys have your days listed already I can see where I can fit in.

I bought two healthy foods this weekend, chopped and baggied them for the freezer so that they are ready when I want them! This was my plan for Feb, to be more prepared and then I can still cook when the spirit moves me ..not I am stuck eating cauliflower 4 nights this week!

Who else is working their plan? Who is doing good? Share folks, we are in the county and the fight for health together!

Kosta, in answer to your question about doing it right, I have started(with mixed success) to plan my daily meals out a day or two in advance. I have always decided what I felt like cooking at the last minute so this is a challenge for me.

Hi - I'm a long time member who hasn't been around for a long time. But I'm back now. I lost 95 pounds in 2003-2005 on Atkins. I've regained about half that back and want to nip this before I regain it all. I have found that the ONLY diet that works for me is low carb. I can actually gain weight on 1200 calories a day if I eat carbs emoticon .

So I'm back on Atkins. I just have to remember that I'm allergic to carbs - they make me break out in FAT. emoticon

Where did everyone go.....

Today I can't seem to make myself drink water... I feel like I have been frozen for days. It is just way colder than usual and for longer than usual. Give me a couple 35-40 degree days PLEASE!

anyone else find the weather prohibiting?

dont' have my schedule yet... but hopefully we can get a walk in one night next week.

I printed out two Spark Recipes that can be frozen in portion size baggies. Plan to make them this weekend and hope to stay on track better!

Anyone else making plans, doing it right? wrong? any updated for Lite Living??

I have been logging breakfast and lunch & then I have an idea of what I can eat for dinner.
no time at night to log food.

Turns out I eat light breakfasts, even my egg & toast with cheese is under 400 calories.
Life cereal less than 200 calories since I don't use milk but it fills me for hours.

I doubt I have any jokes.. being Polish has always been joke enough on me. lol
just ask my Dad!

water up folks.. I hear by the Sunday we will be in the 30's.. a heat wave!

I've been tracking my food every day. It's a lot of work, but what a great feature. It has really educated me on my eating habits.

10 minutes of scraping today.. didn't feel like a work out... but moving is moving!

I am watered up, under my calories and hoping next week I have better nights available to walk.

Monday and Thursday are the only two nights that I definitely can't walk. Sorry. Any other time is good. Once the weather breaks if you have days off during the week we could walk the parks. Good Idea about the exercise challenge. Scraping car windows only counts as exercise if you're cleaning my windows. Have a good week and keep chugging the H2O.

OK .. what about Thursday? I can walk on Thursday any time after 6:30 at the mall.

Today I am so close to having all my water in I am sure to make that goal.
I got in a walk yesterday out with my Spark Friend at the park.. boy howdy was that chilly.
But 2 miles in one hour! new record for us!

go log that food! and then lets plan in two weeks the exercise challenges. If we do it by minutes rather than type of exercise it can include beginners to old hands!
What is the general thinking? I am definately in for walking other than the mall once the weather breaks but only so much can be done in the dark.

I wonder if scraping my car this Sunday for 20 minutes is some kind of work out! I truly felt it in my arms! lol

Let's do the food track this month then next month we can do exercise. maybe we will get a weather break and actually be able to walk outside without parts freezing and falling off. Do we want a seperate page to track outr days or just do on our own. I think next month I will do a seperate page to track ex and min? sound good?

Sorry I have been AWOL.. out sick from work and life! Back in today and hoping everyone is staying warm & off the roads if they can.

I feel ya MAH712RN... I work two jobs too. It can be tough to keep a regular workout/dining/social schedule with all that going on.

Everyone logging food? We aren't gonna grade you.. these are Personal Goals to help the process! Even if you just write them down & it never makes it to the site.. know what you eat! portion control counts! less emotional eating & more healthy eating!

When I get my schedule on Friday I will see what nights I can work & if anyone can join in!

I just passed up a donut in the kitchen at work for a cup of Life Cereal! woo hoo! good girl.

Just wanted to let ya all know that my post may be sporadic. I work 2 jobs, 65 hrs/week between them Il do most posting when I have a day off one of them or quickies.

One thing I was thinking today is we need a team challenge for the month. we are 2 days in (almost 3 at this point and its a short month. How bout something easy track food once a day?

Just got my schedule... I have Monday night off and Thursday.

Would like to. Not off on a Wednesday night until the 9th. I have a crazy schedule between 2 jobs one 40 hr/week the other 25. getting exercise in has been my real struggle. I am looking to make a commitment to 3 days a week starting saturday and go from there. BABY STEPS

ok.
looks like we have an action plan.

lets step it up a notch.

tomorrow night, wed the 26th. any one free to meet me at the mall to go walking at about 6:30?

I need to get moving. I found a friend who can walk on sundays with me. I need one more day in the week.

who can walk for an hour or so at the mall tomorrow?? We are talking the talk, can we walk the walk??

As far as the religious aspect I just think we have a few members that are very proud of their faith and wear it on the profile which is great. the group itself I never felt was overly religious in any way. I think that's what RRinmaster was talking about (correct me if I'm wrong).

I checked I cant clear out old posts and forums but if we use the ones we want they will stay bumped up on the list ahead of unused ones.

I kind of like the Idea of breathing new life into the team and starting with a new name. Dropping the loser sounds like everyone likes that so we'll see what we come up with.

once we get a new name I will put us out there on a few other Ohio boards as suggested.

I can't see the religious angle you see.. am I missing something?

oh, and can the current leader delete old forums or postings?
maybe if we clear out the old unused forums it will streamline the page.

I didn't mean we should rename the whole group, I meant clean up the old stuff and just use ONE forum. Not a chat page, a suggestion page, a challenge page.. I think no one has time to go to 3 or 4 pages on just OUR team page along with logging food & exercise, checking blogs, new recipes, reading articles... etc.
I thought if we had it Easy to Use.. others might stop in more and stay interested.

I guess I should have been more clear.
of couse, the word Loser does bug me a bit so nice if we can get rid of that.

Ok i will put up a new thread for name suggestions. I think it's a great idea. I know we have a few members with religious based names but I'm not sure the site reflects any religious message in particular.

name suggestions until 02/01 ya think? see if we get anymore activity from members filtering back.

I definitely think we should change the name, but still have Lake Co. in the name in order to attract more locals. There are some who will probably take offense to this, but I think the current site looks too religious oriented. It could be putting people off the just want to join a local group that wants to improve their nutrition and life style.

We should create a NEW post page to use.. with a Great Name like Losing 2011 so people know it is new!

what did you have in mind to reinvigorate us cuz I think most of the group (says 95 members but more like 10 active at any time) has gone on to other groups.

lets see what you got as team leader to make a better go of it!

today is not in my challenge.. there will be no cardio or strength training.. it is my birthday and there has been Bad for me lunch and a small cream puff for breakfast! lol Will have salad for dinner... with my Alfredo and then cardio tomorrow!
