Doesn't matter who we get- unless we beef up both lines they'll be crushed like a bug!

Never forget the 343 (NY's Bravest)!

I am still not sold on Matt. I initially thought he was a bad pick but seeing Culpepper and Stanton this year I think he is our best qb but that is not saying he will be a good qb throughout his career.
I agree that the lions can't protect anyone and outside of Calvin there is no receiver help.

I totally disagree that Smith is a great all purpose back. Smith is an average back at best and is terribly slow. He is best suited to be a secondary back or 3rd down back.

I don't think we need Ingram we need more of a speedy back to compliment Smith if we are going to keep him. Ingram is not slow as Smith but he isn't the fastest out there either. I am not sure how good Ingram is at pass protection and receiving either because Alabama used Upchurch and Richardson for passing situations. Given that I don't see why we would pick Ingram outside of it being a home town pick it doesn't make any sense otherwise. Ingram is not a fullback he would not make it in that position given his skill set.

It's not that Matt was a bad choice- he'll be a fine QB. The Lions just can't protect anyone, so anyone with us long-term is going to get beat up pretty bad. We need to fill in both lines- just that alone will let the people we already have improve greatly. They'll be able to take time to make plays and make better plays, until then, we're the same old Lions!

I do not agree that choosing Ingram would be to sell tickets. He is a strong FULLBACK to complement Smith, who is a great all purpose back. Smith is not big enough to handle both jobs. I still am going to say that I would rather see them take linemen, but I think he would not be a horrible long term choice. I think we would all agree that we thought Stafford was the wrong choice pre-draft, but now I am happy with the choice they made.

Totally agree!
While I feel for him and the teams he has had to endure over the years, he deserves to leave on his terms!

Drafting Ingram would be an awful decision. The only reason they would draft him would be to sell tickets because of the local connection. Jason Hanson has been here long enough to leave whenever he wants. He should not be forced out or cut.

Me too! Both the lines are like swiss cheese!
Heard rumors that someone wants to let Jason H. go- are they nuts? Without his leg we'd be done for!

Heard rumor that they may try Ingram. But would rather see them work on the lines...both of them.

The time of the year is coming where the Lions can be categorized in the top 5 of the NFL. That time is draft time. Who do you think we should draft? I like both DT Suh from Nebraska and McCoy from Oklahoma. I also like the OT Okung from Oklahoma State and to a lesser extent McClain from Alabama. I might give up totally on the Lions if they draft a QB,RB,TE, or WR in the first round.
