Cindi~ Give your DS a hug from me. And tell him to give you a hug from me emoticon
College is a totally different world! Travel well, and keep the faith. emoticon

Suz~ how did you do that? Good idea to keep the boot on!!

I sprained my index finger a few weeks ago. I has taken it 3 weeks to heal up good so that there is no more "attention getting" pain or discomfort. For awhile I was too proud to tape it up. Once I did that for a few days, it got much better. The older we get, not only do the days go faster, but healing seems to take a bit longer. Now that is some kind of paradox!!

Have a great Wednesday!

Thank you Cindi! I will pray for your DS and hope you will find the right option for him!

My foot feels so much better, but I don't think I should take the boot off yet. I am tempted though....

Nothing much going on here and tomorrow is the first day of October, I wonder what our new theme will be?

Take care, Suz.

I'm off work the next couple of days. I have a family emergency. I am going to where my youngest son is in college. He has been having a terrible time. We will be considering options and most likely right now the best option seems to be bringing him home. He is terribly depressed and stressed. Pray for us. I don't have much else.

It still feels like summer here, but it is supposed to cool off to the mid 80's this week, then back up to 90+ on Friday. Frankly, I'm so tired of summer and would love to see the cooler weather!

I broke my foot and now have to wear a boot, and it is not easy to get around! It's getting easier day by day, but boy! I hope I never do that again:)

I can't believe it's almost October already either! The time just flies by now and soon it will be another year, it's just amazing how quickly the time goes by the older you get.

I hope to get the results of the ultrasound I had on Friday this week. I had blood in my urine and I'm taking antibiotics so I should be feeling better soon:)

Hope you both have a great day!

A Fall evening with a weather change on its heels. Tonight we have soft rain. Tomorrow begins cooler tempts. Nothing bad, just cooler. I think I'll still get some of my walks in.

Nothing much going on here.

It is definitely Fall. I am enjoying the weather and looking forward to wearing more Fall clothes as the weather gets cooler. I'm enjoying cooking some of the different foods I like. My husband and I were looking though a cookbook tonight at supper and talking about trying some new recipes.

We are watching the moon now.

Hello People~ Well, September is on its way out! Can you believe it. The leaves are turning, the red moon is tonight; there is even that autumn feeling in the air. emoticon A neighbor came by and gave me an invitation to their annual Halloween party! emoticon

One of my favorite shows it coming to an end tonight - CSI. My all time favorite character is going to show up on it - Gil Grissom. emoticon It's on the same time as my "new" show, Fear the Walking Dead. I'll record both of them and then fast-fwd through the commercials.I'll be up for awhile tonite anyway because I want to try to catch a glimpse at the blood moon sometime in the middle of the night. So, I'll just watch tv until 11:45, view the moon, and then go to bed.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Today I realize that I am not really getting enough green leafy veggies. It is time to remedy that - time for spinach, chard, kale, cabbage in any way I can get them each day. Even if it is just a serving from a frozen bag of the stuff.

I gotta start taking my vitamins more regularly too.

Work is good, but kind of frustrating and unsatisfying right now. There is something in the hopper that may have a positive impact some time next year after the two contracts I have expire. But I am just going to hold on to the possibility and wait to see if the stars line up the way I think they will.

We have had a string of BEAUTIFUL days here!

Ditto you Cindi, on what I like about autumn, and there is a certain kind of celebratory/fun energy that is different than summer (harvest fest!) It is like a peppy-cozy. A hot beverage in the garden, a fire in the pit and the crickets chirping; don't forget the rustling of the leaves. You don't have to stay up as late to see the stars emoticon

Congrats on the weight loss Suz!!

Thanks Lee. Yes, prayer is powerful. We saw prayers get answered in powerful ways this week.

We just got back from being gone this weekend to visit my son at college five hours away. Visited my brother on the way home. I got off track a little this weekend, but I don't think I was way off like I usually get. Need to get back to blogging about Beck Diet Solution and get back to the tasks.

Nothing else.

Glad to have a few things behind me now.
- Got the kick-off event done.
- Mom turned crazy 8's (88) and we took her out.
- Completed weeding and mulching the area between my garage and the neighbor's. It was important because that house is up for sale.
- went apple picking today. DH got his mackintoshes.
- and kept a promise/commitment around getting some stuff donated from my Dad's house.
It was a busy weekend and I am able to check some things off of the "to-do" list in a major way.

Suz~ glad to hear that there is nothing to worry about. emoticon

Cindi~ keep making your self-care the priority so that you can be available and accessible to your family. Prayer is powerful; remember that it works for everyone emoticon

The Zentangle is gorgeous! Cindi, I'm sorry you are having so much stress in your life right now. I hope things get better soon!

The test results came back and the lung nodules are common and the dr. will monitor them for awhile but he said nothing to worry about, so I won't:)

Have a good weekend!

Been dealing with a couple of family crisis, both several hours away. Both appear to be resolving to being tolerable and workable. This has been an exhausting week. One was with our college sophomore son. We have been learning more about the stress and depression facing college students now. College appears to be more complicated than it was when we were in college. The other issue was my father-in-law who fell and broke his knee cap and fractured toes. He has a muscle deterioration disease that is related to muscular dystrophy that makes it a little more complicated. So, this week has been stressful.
Waiting for the weekend.

Completed another work event this evening. Glad that is done. It doesn't feel particularly satisfying for me. I always end up with more to do --- that kinda sucks.

I have another event on Saturday AM and another in two weeks, actually 13 days.

This weekend is kind of chock full of activities; Gurlz nite Fri. work on Saturday AM; Mom's birthday Sat PM, apple picking on Sunday.

I'm feeling like it is just about time for another vacation!

It's been a different sort of day today. Started the day with church and a baked potato bar fundraiser at church. We were going to go see our older son and eat supper with him. A number of things are happening right now that is making everything feel very uncertain. One we've been dealing with through texts all day. Lots of prayers are needed. On the positive side, we had a nice day with our older son helping him figure out a homework assignment.

Lee: I saw your Zentangle. Nice.

Well tomorrow is coming sooner than I want it to.

I was wondering about your test Suz. I'll keep my eyes open to see how it goes.

Cindi, that recipe sounds good! I was thinking about chili earlier today. I wonder if I am going to figure out how to do more pots of goodness for the cool and cold months this time around. I want to; I always want to.

Spent some time doing a Zentangle today for work. It turned out pretty ok.Here is a link to a post I made in one of my other teams. Let me know if you can get it without joining the team. www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_mes

Doing it actually improved my mood and energy in a way. After I was done I wanted to do more art stuff, then I thought about cleaning the kitchen floor, running errands, exercising. . . I just went and took a shower instead. emoticon

I'm heading to bed; I'll have to run the errands I didn't do tonight in that AM.

Happy with the weather today. Not hot, but not cold. Perfect.

I'm seeing success on the scale, one pound at a time.....

Made a pot of the Spark recipe that came in my email today, Butternut Squash and Black Bean Chili. It looks really good. I have it cooking in the crock pot while we go to do a "Feed Just One" event at our church. Hopefully we'll have chili when we get home later.

Have a great day everyone!

Hello team! I love to see all the good conversations going but sorry that I have not been on here very much lately. I was supposed to have the second scan the other day but the machine broke and now I will have it on Monday. MY doctors appt. is on the 16th for the results but I don't know if they will have them in time.

It has been so hot here all week. 105 or more almost everyday this week. It is supposed to start cooling off after today, but it will still be in the 90's. I wish I could trade some of his heat for some good winter like storms. lol

Thanks Lee. I'm not sure it's for sure. I've had a pretty stressful day yesterday. I think it came off because of stress.

Not to put more gloom on the moment, did you hear that they are getting snow in the Black Hills? There is something exciting and depressing about the first snow, all at the same time.

I had a walk tonight. We had rain and I still went out for my walk in the rain. I saw a pretty cool rainbow. If I had turned around and gone home when I was going to, I wouldn't have seen it. And the place where I was, I got to see a complete rainbow, not just a piece. There is a blog in the story.

Lee: I'm glad to hear you had a good day.

I just hate the passage of time. I like this time of year, but the rush to the end of the year is depressing. I have gotten my worst depression after the holidays. Like you because of the cold and darkness. I live for the spring and longer days and I hate that. Right now I am pretty dissatisfied with some things in my life and so, that makes me dread the darkness and cold months.

Had a nice day with my son and his girlfriend. Got two walks in and now I am just hot! emoticon

It is a bitter-sweet time of year, Cindi. I can admit to you that I like all the seasons; they are all beautiful and wonderful in their own way. What I hate is the bitter cold and the emotional impact of the winter months. I even kind of like the coziness of the long nights - candles & fireplace, warm drinks, and cuddly spaces to "nest." It's nice. Even going out to shovel in the sunlight is kind of nice, and good exercise. The tough part is the feeling of sadness that descends, and and malaise.

OK~ I'm going to stop thinking about it now because in some ways I am romanticizing it.

Spend the major part of the day in the yard. I had a realization that I was pushing myself to close things down because it is how I am feeling, not because it actually has to be done. So, I reigned myself in a little bit. I did some work on organizing the garage today. Hopefully, it will make it easier to get cleaned out so that DH can put his car in when the weather turns. I have to figure out how i am going to deal with some wood (sticks, not logs) that have been stored for the fireplace. I guess I'll just move it in next door, or pile it up some how...[let it go TT. Now is not the time to solve that issue].

I guess I'm feeling rather satisfied today, overall.

Lee: I have mixed feelings this time of the year. I'm not ready to give up on summer, but I do get excited about the changing seasons and different colors both in my clothes and nature. You see, I have some SAD also. It seems like stress in my life makes it worst and beginning in October I watch myself. One of my tricks is trying different clothes in different colors to keep myself from getting bored. Right now, I am dreading winter because of some of the stress in my life.

Suz~ emoticon on dropping the pounds. I'm sad that you had a couple of emoticon days. And I hope that your tests go easy and that things get quickly and easily resolved.

Cindi~ I'm not giving up "summer" yet though.

Today my Stepmom and Dad stopped by to just see what I had going on in yarden. It was a nice quick visit because it was HOT outside. They knew it would be a short visit because I got to my Mom's on Sunday. It was a pleasant surprise.

I thought I would spend tonight doing some Zentangle, but I'm too tired. We ran shopping errands after visiting my Mom, and then I went back in the yard until it was too dark to work any more. Still putting mulch down emoticon Yup, the days are shorter! I'm going to go read a book and go to sleep.

Suz: Sorry to hear about the tests. Hope they are better this time around.

Lee: I agree. This is the time I get anxious to cut back on my garden. It begins to drive me a little crazy. As long as things are bearing and good, I'm good, but the plants get looking a little too rough. And I get burnt out on gardening.

We are going to have cooler temps now, but when I looked long range we might be more than a month away from frost at night. Yay!

Had a busy day yesterday, so I am behind in my Beck Diet Solution Challenge, but that's another team. Went to a friend's home and he cooked a wonderful Spanish meal. He loves to cook and told us it was a whole day of playing for him. And we got to eat very well. Leftover mango gazpacho and paella came home with us for another meal. Ummmm

Lee, it sounds like you are really enjoying the 80 degree weather! Too bad about your garden though. I did plant thyme, rosemary, and oregano but the oregano is not doing very well. I don't think it is going to make it, I do have beans and small potatoes that seem to be doing well:)

I have to have another CT scan on Wednesday. They suddenly put a rush on fixing my port and having me get blood work done so I can have the test with contrast this time. My last test was on June 24th and I wondered why they were doing another so soon. Well, I found out on Friday that those test results showed "numerous new nodules" in both lungs. They didn't say they were cancerous, but any new growth can't be good. They measured 7 of the nodules and they range between 3mm-6mm.

On a good note though- I am down 9.6 lbs this week. I was sick a lot this week and threw up my lunch one day, and didn't eat dinner the next. so I should have lost more than that:)
I will do better this week!

There are a few things that I have done this weekend to create a certain amount of satisfaction ...

I went to a community festival to check out some live music. Glad I did that! My Dad and Stepmom came with and they had a good time too.

Spent some cleaning around the garage, a task that I usually wait until later to do. It went well and things are looking better in the yard already.

I'm just not quite ready for Summer to over! The temps here have gone back up so we are having a very summery Labor Day weekend. And it is supposed to be in the 80's for the next 5 days or so. So, summer isn't over!!

So, to get some satisfaction - I think I am going to shut my veggie garden down early. Mostly because the emoticon look horrible, and the emoticon have also gotten some kind of blight and aren't bearing fruit. I'll just let them go and move on --- my basil and parsley and emoticon will pretty much take care of itself. Later I will figure out about getting some new frames and stuff, but right now I'll just stop growing. DH will pick the beans. I will still take some time to weed out overgrown beds, spread mulch move and plant some flowers and stuff.

Well!! Look at you two working of food, eating and lifestyle changes! emoticon on your successes!! Keep up the emoticon work.

I'm gonna close up now and see you all here tomorrow. Have good evening and a blessed Sunday!! emoticon emoticon Keep me in your prayers please emoticon

And btw~ I bought a new phone emoticon

I am down 8.8 lbs with this new diet and weigh in tomorrow to see if I have lost even more! I did cheat yesterday and had one chicken mcnugget....I don't think one piece will derail me, but I'm not going to do that again-I hope.lol

Right now I am living for the weekend. (that would be a good song lol)

Got out for a walk tonight.

Staying caught up with my Beck Diet Solution activities. I have my workbook out from previous times and we'll see if I can keep going past where I've stopped in the past. (oh my, that was a sabotaging thought!). Actually, I'm having fun with the blogging.

Lee: Hope you find your phone.

I got nothing.
It was a beautiful day. Had a couple of really good conversations. I'm making a little progress on some new work.

The thing that is most prominent right now? I lost my cell phone today. emoticon
