Thanks Suz.

My brother is now home. Been following the Royals since we are fans having lived in KC and my husband being from Kansas. Tonight I was on the treadmill and they were doing so well while I walked that I was afraid to stop walking. lol So, the plan should be to walk on the treadmill for all the rest of the games. lol Not sure how much of an effect it will have for the Royals, but might help me.

Lee, I'm so sorry to hear about your cousin's wife. Prayers for your cousin and his daughter. Cindi, prayers also for your brother and your family too. I'm sorry I have been so absent on this team and have missed so much of what is going on in your lives.

I have just been working and sleeping and no real news to share. We did move the office to a location that is half as far as where it was and no freeway to drive in the morning now:) It is really small and is upstairs but the exercise will be good for me!

I hope you both have a good day!

It's been one of those days. Yesterday my brother had his second knee operated on. His son has been texting me (and probably others). My brother was taken to cardiac ICU after surgery. He is being released to a rehab/aka nursing home to help with his recovery. I guess he is still confused.

Oooo Cindi, let me tell you - you are not the only one! And then there is the feeling of, "I need to stop and get my sh*t together." Everything just feels totally out of sorts.

There has got to be something going on in the planet or in the Spirit that so many people are feeling the very same ways for such a long time!

Gotta go take a nap before it is time to go hang out with Da Gurlz!

Prayers and hugs, Lee. It sounds like a very mixed bag of emotions. That is so sad about your cousin's wife. Prayers for him and his daughter.

Not much here. I'm kind of feeling stuck. I go back and forth between hope and being stuck.

This is a day of very sad news, some very good events, and continued frustrations.

First piece of news I got was that my cousin's wife died in a car accident in the wee-hours of the morning. They have a 7 month old girl; he is now a single dad, and she will not have any real memories of her mom emoticon

The rest of the day was fairly productive. The program director of my anchor contract called to tell me that the work I am doing is "just what he wants to happen." emoticon That was really important for me because I have been struggling with some really difficult feelings around my work with them.

Then I had a great conversation with a guy who wants to do a huge project in one of the neighborhoods I am working in. He has a fabulous vision and I am going to help him get what he needs to make it happen!

DH slipped into another difficult conversation (money, business, income, working). I see my therapist on Monday! He is supposed to schedule our couple's session, and I'm going to be patient.

Overall, I'm still abundantly blessed and have a very good life.

Hello team! I have not been on here much lately. I don't know why....just lost most of my interest in the computer lately. I do miss SP, but just not in the mood to turn on the computer most days.
I have lost weight on this new diet but I am now off the diet and still losing rapidly. I have gone from 175 to 148 in about 2 months. Last week I lost 3.4 lbs and I was down 3 more lbs. this morning. I'm not sure what's gong on, but I like it! haha

I'm glad to read everyone seems to be doing well! It's still in the 80's here but so much better than the 90's or 100's!

We have some warm days before the next cool down, but no frost or freeze for a while.

Headed out to work out at the Rec Center.

Today the key was the power of positive thinking.

No snow here. I remember as a kid here in Iowa we would have a dusting of snow in October. We are warming up some now. I think my garden made it through the threat of frost. We didn't cover it or anything. We decided we'd just see what would happen.

Today we went to my husband's sister's where we have things in storage. I got out a wrap I got in Mexico 25 years ago. It's very much back in style. I had it in a tote of different pieces of clothing from different places we had been.

I'm in NE Ohio near Cleveland. Home of the "Lake-Effect"! We are looking at frost in the forecast too. I just put some framing around my basil in case I want to try to cover it with garbage bags tonight.

My question is, when will I actually make the leap of drying basil, and or making pesto out of it?? I really didn't use it much this year. DH eats it on Capris sandwiches with fresh garden tomato during the summer. He loves it.

Well, my exercise motivation is ALL gone, already. I even chose to go take a nap instead of gardening tasks today. Maybe I'll get out for some tasks tomorrow. I have a rose of sharon bush to get in the ground, and I don't know where to put it - at least for the winter. I still have mulch that needs spread and stored too.

Oh well~ another summer gone, huh?

Lee: Where are you?

We are suppose to get frost in the next couple of days. North and west of here they are suppose to freeze. I think tomorrow after work I'll probably strip more of my garden. The Fall weather is changing faster than I'm ready for.

We are a few hours apart, but we could get some of the same latitudinal stuff, Cindi. Just a thought...

No frost here yet, but the heat is on in the house. I need just a couple more days to get some stuff done in the yard!

Lee: I am in western Iowa.

We had a hot day today. Now it will cool off . I started to get the garden ready for frost today. I think Friday we will get pretty close to frost. Today, was deciding what to hang on to and what to let go in the garden. The cucumbers were looking pretty rough, so they went. I have a tomato plant I thought was done a while ago and cut back and it is growing very well with a lot of new leaves and branches and tomatoes.

Yesterday I walked and did some running in our annual Pink Walk. I haven't run for a while, it sure felt good to run.

I'm ready for some cooler weather.

Cindi~ where are you again? We seem to have much the same weather quite often!

More sun today. Spent time at the park and sitting in the yard reading.

Back to work tomorrow and I am going to try to RELAX about it all because I started my staycation with a lot of anxiety and stress about a couple of things. Well, I think I got one thing figured out. The other has just gone a way I hadn't anticipated and I am annoyed, but it isn't end of the world (yet!)

Today was a joy. Please be patient and tolerant with me while I savor it....

I spent much of the day out in the yard - no surprise. It was an absolutely perfect day to be out. The temps were wonderful, the sun never got too hot and there were periods of light clouds. I was able to take care of quite a few tasks and I am feeling like it would be okay if I didn't really get anything more done. Of course, I still have stuff to cut back before the snow falls, but that is easy. DH will surely help with that!!

I'll just say that my mulch pile has decreased by at least 66% emoticon That is a really good thing.

DH took care of the meals today, which was such a gift. . . and they were good meals too! Lunch was fresh picked green beans with onions, cranberries and goat-cheese in a balsamic sauce, corn on the cob with cilantro butter, and chili. I skipped the chili because I was full after the beans & corn. Dinner was a salad, so I had my chili with that. Every meal had something in it from my garden!!

So, it got dark noticeably earlier today, which is actually a good thing. I'm not entirely exhausted and I didn't try to "do one more thing" in yard since it was getting dark. I'm satisfied.

Tonight will be mulled cider and a good book as the closing act. This has been a emoticon day!

This week has been a usual staycation week, I guess. There are plenty of things to get done, and nothing seems to arise that I "want" to do.

I've spend several hours each day out in the yard working on getting the yarden ready for shutting down at the end of the month. The tomatoes and greenbeans are still going well though.

A couple of evenings I went out with friends. Had dinner and drinks planned for tomorrow, but my friend is sick. Went to dinner with DH tonight. It was very nice. We were still able to dine alfresco at the restaurant, which is what I wanted.

A few nights I have watched movies and some TV shows. It is odd; I am not getting as much enjoyment out of it as I expected.

The last thing I have done that has been enjoyable is cooking a few things. Made a great pot of chili yesterday, and I'm going to make a pot of beans tomorrow. I do enjoy putting together my one pot meals!

So, right now I'm feeling good about autumn. that made me think~ I should check "peak color" schedules so that DH and I get some leaf viewing in. I also need to find out when the winesap apples are going to be ready for picking emoticon

One of these days I'm going to bake something!!

Thanks, Lee, but I fell asleep after work and didn't make it to the meeting. I can go next week though. It's an open meeting and you can pay for the 12 weeks, or just pay at the door for the times you go. I was going to pay for the 12 weeks upfront, but I'm glad I didn't now:)

Travel safe picking up your son, Cindi. It will all work itself out. I think it is smart and courageous for him to pull out instead of trying to fight through it. The stress is also bad for health and isn't worth the damage it could do.

Enjoy your groups Suz. I could use one of those right about now!

So far I have spent time on these activities.
- relaxing
- reading
- journaling
- completed a few tasks toward shutting down the garden
- pick-up shoes from the shop
- cook some good healthy food for now & later, will do more
- watched some tv (picked up videos)

Tonight will be more TV, and some Zentangles.

Sorry your son has to leave college for awhile but I bet you're happy to have him back home again:) I hope he can go back in the spring and his health issues are better!

I am going to a women's group tonight on self esteem and hope to start feeling better. It's once a week for 12 weeks and I think it will be good for me:)

I hope you both have a great day and you get all those things on your list done, Lee!

This week has been a stressful one. I spent a couple of days at my son's college. He is withdrawing from classes due to medical reasons for the rest of the semester. Sunday we are going back to move him home. He wants to return in the Spring semester and have a better start. It's hard seeing your kids so stressed and anxious.
So, right now, I'm just doing what I need to do. I did have some success at supper tonight. I was able to limit my eating and stop when I was satisfied. I stopped at half my meal. Usually I pick at my food until I've eaten it all.

We had some frost last night, but the garden is still good. I think I'm going to start pulling out the plants that seem to have reached their limit. It's really Fall like here. Colder at night.

Just a quick check in. I'll be back to answer the questions and chat.

Have a great October! Our weather has turned cool and Fall like. I guess I have to put away a few more things. :-(

2015 is the year that I want to stop recovering and start living again!

Aug. 9th, I will start the Ideal Protocol diet. This is a high protein diet where you can lose weight in a healthy way. I hope to have more energy and feel good for a change, and lose weight too!
