Hello My SparkFriends! Happy Last Day of 2015!! emoticon
Had a good day so far. Spent some time with DH, went out with a couple of girlfriends for a drink. DH and I are going to have dinner at home together and watch some TV or play some Scrabble. We'll see how we feel.

If my whole year felt like now on most days it was great and if it ends up true for the next year, it will be great.

Appreciating my blessings, successes and the abundance of love that has permeated my life, and looking forward to more.

I wish the same for all of you! Blessings, Success and Much Love~ EVERYDAY!!

One last day to celebrate in December and then January. Any plans for tonight or tomorrow? No plans for tonight, but tomorrow we will celebrate my younger son's birthday at his favorite place to eat.

I'm reading The Sugar Smart Express. Getting ready to focus on getting away from excess sugar.

Happy New Year's Eve.

I will be on break from my anchor contract starting tomorrow afternoon. The smaller contract I have is going to require me to work at least 10 hours each week during the holidays. It isn't a bad thing - it isn't that much work. I'm just spoiled because for the last 10 years I have taken a full 2 weeks off - the week of Christmas and the week of New Years.

I'm going to have to hold that in a special place right now because I hadn't paid attention to how many years it had been! WOW~

-- On a better note - I was fitted and purchased my first pair of contact lenses today. I have 30 "wears" to test them and see if it is something I want to use regularly. Then I will have to order a new "box" (1 pair of lenses)

Just finished a gift for my younger son. I spent the day working on it. It's a set of pockets that can be hung off the bed to hold things like his tablet, phone, etc.

Right now I'm enjoying my home looking so nice. My husband and son are talking about some building projects to add some of the things I would like to our home.

December is sure a mixed bag of emotions for me. I so enjoy watching my nieces, nephews and my husband's grandchildren grow and change- there is quite the age range ( 2-17) so we get a little of everything. I find that I miss the grandparents and my dad a lot this time of year- I hope they are proud of me- I tend to do a lot of soul searching and re-assessement at this time of year. I find that I value experiences rather than things. My husband and I gift each other a holiday show at the local theater and then either have dinner or breakfast out. My nieces and nephews want to make cut out cookies, fudge and Puppy Chow, so that will keep everyone busy. I love the holiday movies- it's tradition in our family to watch everyone's favorite holiday movie, so The Bishop's Wife, White Christmas, Holiday Inn, Boys Town, A Christmas Story, Charlie Brown, The Grinch- we love 'em! Costco has fabulous HUGE poinsettas that help round out the decorations. I love old school outdoor holiday decorations, particularly the blow mold kinds. My husband would have our house looking like Vegas if he had free rein. Presents are what I enjoy least about Christmas- I want company, food, drink, movies, lights and a reverence for the season.

LET'S DO THIS!

Wow~ what a day. Actually experienced some good conversations and feel like there was some progress with work stuff.

This is the first day in a week that I haven't seen my Dad. It felt weird, although he called me at 3pm to tell me that he is "FINE!" emoticon

Put another meeting on my schedule. Why? Gotta get the work in before holiday break!

Hi Lee. Sounds like you've had a lot to think about this past week.

Just got back from the city. We go in to a contemporary worship service geared to college students every Sunday night. Interestingly, I think most of the people in the service are our age group. But, it has a band and praise music and very much to the point and a shorter service.

I'm kind of getting excited about decorating my home. Something I haven't been for a long time. I've been scouring the decorating magazines and I'm finding combinations that reflect what we have and who we are. Right now I'm excited about our living room and how I did it this year for Christmas. I hope this excitement continues through the New Year.

I've also been thinking about my diet again. I notice something about myself. When I am feeling desperate I always start looking toward extreme types of diets. This morning I found myself thinking about more tried and true approaches that have worked in the past and aren't extreme.

Feeling on track, at least tonight. Tomorrow, back to work, so we will see how long this lasts. Work is still pretty stressful.

Got my hair cut today and loving it!

Great stuff Cindi! emoticon
Well, my family had a "moment" this month. Dad went into ER Tuesday night. Came home yesterday with a pacemaker emoticon emoticon Actually he had a very small stroke Sat night, and in all of the observation, testing and monitoring they decided to go ahead and put in the PM. He is doing quite well right now. I took him to church this AM and he got his healing anointing, and I get to continue to reflect upon my blessings!

Soooo~ today, DH got me out for a good walk and we talked about how I might tap into the network of support and find ways to get additional folks involved in getting Dad where he wants to go. I'll also have to ask him to make sure he asks other folks for support.

I will work on paying attention to my snacks and try not to eat junk instead of food to sooth myself. emoticon

Counselor appt tomorrow afternoon emoticon

Hey everyone! Its December! What are you doing to celebrate this month? For some of us it's a month of celebrating the season. What are you doing to take care of yourself in the midst of the month? Remember that whatever your activities and all that you do for others, you can't forget yourself and your fitness goals this month. Let's celebrate together!

Got through decorating the Christmas tree yesterday and like always I am enjoying just sitting and looking at it and my nice clean living room. We'll see how long the clean part lasts! Right now I am wondering why I dread the process of decorating so much because I sure like looking at it when it's done.

I got off track with my work-outs this week. But, I have a lot of things going right now. But, today I am reminded I have to take care of me in the midst and focus on more than just the doing of the season.
