I love, love coffee. I can drink it black with nothing in it. I love the taste of a good strong cup in the morning when first get out of bed and sometimes I don't have to wait that long. My husband or son usually prepare a cup for me and put it on my nightstand. I get to wake up to the smell of fresh coffee as some as I open my eyes. I have been a coffee drinker since I was 12. I like 1/2 caffeine, I don't like the caffeine withdrawal symptoms which for me are headaches. I decreased the amount of caffeine and now I have no problems if for any reason I can't get the morning cup.

I have one 16 oz coffee M-F mornings and on the occasional Saturday. If I want a warm drink on a chilly MI evening, I drink tea. I buy a medium local brand & it's yummy w/ either sugar free carmel macchiato or butter pecan creamer.

Nope as it's too bitter to me. emoticon emoticon I watched my Mom drink it black and my Dad with cream and sugar. Shouldn't have to add so many additives to get a good taste...and now flavered creams?!?!?! I'm a emoticon drinker! emoticon

I drink a cup EVERY morning. It's part of my "quiet time" routine. I'm finding more and more research showing the benefits of coffee; of course, the cream and sugar I use probably offset some of those benefits..

I drink 1 - 2 cups of coffee every morning. I use the sweetened non-dairy creamers, but stick to 1 Tbs, instead of the 1/4 cup I used to put in my coffee in the past!

I drink water and herbal tea during the day.

I drink coffee and is still losing weight. The only difference is that I drink it black with no additional items like creamers and sugar. I also find that coffee suppresses my appetite.

Thanks for your reply, but I don't want to give up coffee. I still need to know if coffee and tea count as water. Currently, I'm drinking 8 ounces of water and having my coffee and tea.

I love my coffee, but since I am committed to losing this weight, I gave it up, because I also love my vanilla creamer, and not the fat free kind :-) I drink herbal tea instead, because it's far less calories.

I am new to SparkPeople. Does coffee and/or tea count as water in the nutrition tracker plan?

I am an ex WeightWatcher and WW counts as water

I limit myself to 2 8 oz cups of coffee daily, but have been drinking an additional 8 8 oz cups of water too.

Please advise.

Thanks

I am more of tea drinker, chai or green tea to be exact. Coffee I may have about 3x a year and then it has to be a Starbucks mocha drink.

I love coffee, I have to have at least a cup every morning. I use a little cream (half & half or powder) and splenda and I am good to go. I have started drinking green tea and that is just as good. By the way, I heard that coffee can actually help in losing weight because of the caffeine. Is this true? I think coffee is good to drink as long as you don't add all of the bad stuff like whip cream, sugar and all those other types of flavors (i.e. Starbucks).

I love herbal tea and drink it all the time, both hot and cold. I also drink coffee, but only when I go out to eat. I was never able to get the brewing right at home, so it never tasted as good making a cup at a time in a machine designed to brew a pot at a time. I stay away from the pod coffee makers - I am SURE I would drink way too much!

In moderation, but personally for me I used to drink about 8 - 10 8oz cups per day, but I have cut down to 4 and trying for 2 cups. Tea and water takes the place of those extras.

I am a coffee drinker and actually gave up coffee and tea for lent. My great aunt gave me my first taste when I was about 5-6, and I've loved it every since. I had convinced myself that it calmed me and eased me into my day. Now that I don't have that cup (maybe 2) a day that I used to, I don't really miss it as much as I thought I would. I think I'll occasionally have a cup but not everyday like I did.

I am a tea drinker at home always. When at work I may have a cup of regular coffee, but this is rarely I can honestly say I may have 5 cups of coffee a year. I am not crazy about the taste so when I drink it I use a lot of milk.

About two months ago I was drinking a pot, daily. Decaf Hazelnut and Irish creme. Decaf or not, it was too much, so I had to cut it down. I now drink 1-2 cups a week. Sometimes not even that much. It was hard, but I kicked the pot habit!:)

No coffee for me, either. I grew up in a religious denomination that eschewed caffeine. As an adult, I may not follow many of the religious tenets, but I still stay away from caffeine--not sure my body could tolerate it now (in my 30s). Also, I figure coffee can't taste that great if people are always adding sugar, cream, or half-n-half.
