Christina-a head doll that you could comb her hair and put makeup on. Believe it or not I still have her and I recently taught myself how to do kinky twists by doing it on her. (LOL)

Jacks, etch-a-sketch, and a chemistry set. I also use to get a monthly project from some company that my mother ordered from. I would spend hours putting together clock kits, etc. The good old days indeed !!

I played skully (sp?) with the neighborhood kids and got rope from the NYNEX (now Verizon) van to play double dutch. Most of the time, I was so rough and tomboyish that I played football with the boys.

In my girly moments, I played with my Baby Alive doll and Easy Bake Oven (the susie homemaker in me now, lol).

NU-MEE33 lol... y'all uses the beads, we used rocks for our jacks of any were missing. I remember Ring-Around-the Rosey, The Name Game, The one you also did with the alphbet is "A" my name is Annie my husband's name is Andy and we're from Alabama and we are selling Apples, and so on, remember that one???

The old people told us if you see a shooting star make a wish and I saw five while we were playing hot bread and butter and I got all of my wishes by the age of 42. I really felt blessed.

Remember the Slinky? Go down to the creek and skip rocks across the water, yeah! I was a tomboy! To be honest with you i think the best of best toys I ever own was my skates because that was means of transportation to get around fast through the other neighborhoods and run the ice cream trucks down. and when they got old I recycled them into a skateboard. We use to play boxing too, with the gloves and used a fenced in yard as the ring.

We could only use the clothesline for our rope on days that wasn't wash day again we. Remember the different tricks you could do inside the rope especially doubledutch, collected enough bottles together and brought our own rope. You know evenually I'm going to think of something else, I'll be back!

I'm glad somebody else said the clothesline and jumping rope. I'd give anything to find an adult group to turn a rope with. And I'm jealous, BABY_GIRL69, I always broke through in Red Rover, so the opposite line stopped calling me.

Okay, anybody remember Sit'n'Spin?

I had a woody woodpecker doll that when you pulled his string, he would laugh just like the character on tv. I loved freeze, red light green light, rock teacher, london bridges, chinese jump rope, hopscotch, tag & red rover, red rover. I was never taken down to this day! emoticon emoticon emoticon I had a generous childhood full of fun & play.

One more thang remember we didn't have a pool or live near the beach so the closest thing to it was when one of the adults took a wrench and turn on the street fire hydrant, stayed in it until they turned it off.

I forgot about 1-2-3 Redlight,Simmon Says and Dodgeball. We use to get a jar and catch our own lighting bugs and call it our lightbubs, Hyde and Go Seek, when lunch time came in the summertime we would all go home and get one or two potatoes and 1 to two slices of bread and meet over at the Washington's house and have french fires and homemade french toast. Everyone in the neighbor hood had some type of fruit tree in thier back yard so dessert was on the house.

I forgot about jacks, but we were so country that when we would loose the jacks we would make some from the Mardi gras beads that we didnt sell. I remember I could walk the dog and pick up about 10 jacks at a time. Those were the days! I am smiling just thinking about it.

some of my favorites were the clothes line with the plastic covering (for double dutch...had to get that "whip" action), cabbage patch kids, Calicovision (not sure of the spelling), and of course Barbie.

Wow, my favorite toy was the easy bake oven & the etch a sketch board! However, my favorite games were 1-2-3 redlight & I think it was called "move to the head of the class." We would all sit at the bottom of our outside steps except for one person that stood in front of us with an object hidden in their one hand. One by one we would try to quess which hand the object was in, and we would move up one level of the steps until someone reached the top & they would become the head of the class! We used to play that all day long with kool-aid breaks in between. emoticon Good question!

First of all we were poor and had to make our own toys, but I did have some jacks and a bat and ball every once and a while when I collected enough bottles to take to the store to get the deposit from them. I made my own stake board from 2- 2x4's and an old union 5 or union 7 stake taken apart and put at both ends of the board that was closest to ground. I wasn't into dolls. WE played house and doctor and we made our own towns on the side of our buildings from the furniture cardboard that someone discarded when they got a new piece of funiture or if someone new moved into the developement the men would leave behind the plywood that they took off of the windows and we would lean them against the houses with blankets as tee pees or shops when we played storekeepers. I was also an artist in my own way so paper pencil and crayons were my choice. When we played shop we had a beauty salon and everyone wanted to be my beautician becuase I had long thick hair, one day I came into the house with my hair in a donut ( I loved the donut) and my mother said, Who in the hell put that Mammie Made hairdo on your head, that makes you look like an old woman. We also played "Mother May I", "Hot bread and Butter" Hopstotch, cards and Giantsteps. If we were up late at night on the weekend four of the ice cream dealers with thier trucks would come back around and thrown ice cream in the air for the children to catch. Everything was makeshift for us. So the kids today have it made, ready made at that. I forgot we played jumprope too and doubledutch.

Cabbage Patch Doll, Atari, Big Wheel, I dont know the name of it but it had a loop that you put one foot in with a lemon shaped thing on the end. You would jump while it spent around on your ankle. Boy I was the queen. I played with everything I didnt discriminate, but these were my favorites.
