My best weight loss ever (two years ago.. sheesh) came from running outdoors in the dead of a New Jersey winter. That cold weather really kept me moving and being bundled up made me feel safe and secure that no one was able to see my fat and judge me. The pounds melted away week after week!!!

Now what gave me the motivation every morning to lace up and bundle up to go run? I have absolutely no idea.... I wish I could figure it out again!

the 30 day shred, high intensity interval training (on the elliptical or treadmill) and turbo jam seems to produce the quickest results for me.

Circuit training which included 12 weight machines and 12 cardio machines this was at the local community college. And aside from that I did the treadmill at home and the elliptical and my hand weights, jump rope and the occasional workout dvd such as Leslie Sansome. And I would walk in my neighborhood for a couple miles when the weather was nice. And if all else failed to inspire me I would turn on the radio and dance to the music for 20-30 minutes. Oh yeah and I have a outdoors bike that I rode occasionally. And I've also discovered doing beginner yoga, nothing strenuous but good for stretching out the body to reduce down on those crack and pops you mentioned.

Mind you I'm not an athlete so I don't want to sound like I was doing all of this every day or all the time. It was a combination of things or when I was changing up my routine, these are the things that I go to at least 5 days a week. Everyday it could be the same workout or I would change daily depending on my mood or the weather.

As you can see it took a combination of things to shake up my weight loss, which also included being mindful of my nutrition intake and making sure I journal my food, water and exercise daily.

The weight loss didn't seem fast enough to me, but all of these things made sure I loss weight the healthy and productive way.

I hope this helps you, it's about finding what exercise routine is right and fun for you, so it doesn't really seem like a routine but a lifestyle. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

No particular thing did it for me, just time and consistency and I changed up my workout every few weeks.

There is no one thing for me. Definitely circuit and weight lifting DVD workouts helped me to lean out. I don't do any machine work unless I'm doing intervals with my best friend and she makes me go to the gym. I don't think anything helped me to drop weight though. *shrugs*
