seems I read to stretch afterwards when muscles are warmed up... it is a change from old recommendations

I try to eat a balanced snack 1-2 hours before exercising, or if I'm hungry, I'll have a bar (usually Luna Protein) immediately before to try to eliminate bonkage.

Sometimes I bonk while exercising, and then I either have to stop or have a snack (even a small candy will do, for blood sugar). Immediately afterwards, I'm not hungry. An hour or two afterwards, I'm ravenous!

I don 't notice being hungry after exercise unless it is close to meal time. But if it is a heavy workout I do try to have a healthy snack afterward. And lots of water!

probably not.... may seem like it IF/when exercise ends at a usual snack/meal time when I normally have hunger pangs... I have noticed more that I don't feel hungry after.

I have so much to lose that it gets overwhelming if I look at the end goal so a smaller amount really helps me and make it feel doable, possible, and that's very important. I choose to believe I can do this!


I read an idea of someone who just did 1 lb goals. another said 5 lbs at a time. sometimes my goal is just to stop the gain and maintain because that IS a huge WIN just to do that sometimes!

I use a food exchange program, and know what my ranges are for meals/snacks. I don't usually track when I know I am in range. I use food labels or look up info on the SparkTracker when I need to understand how a new2me food fits in my food exchanges.

Moderation for me. It's a simple mind trick: If I think that something is off-limits, I might obsess about it. I know well which foods I should avoid and which I should limit.

Back when I was younger, however, it worked to have forbidden foods. I was a binger then. I don't binge anymore, but I do tend to eat a little too much almost every day so the pounds are gradually coming back.

Moderation. That being said, some foods are off limits due to food intolerences (gluten and dairy). I DO still eat chips, chocolate, birthday cake, etc.

emoticon not a fan of super hot, dry, arid flatlands, especially in summer but the Grand Canyon was a breathtaking place to see, so I guess I don't mind visiting many places, just wouldn't want to stay...
