My healthy food(s) today was my snack. I had Oikos Zero Greek yogurt with blueberries. It's my all time favorite snack and I have it several times a week. It really helps with reaching my protein and fiber goals.

For the healthy ITC Bingo:

Made Tofu Stir Fry with lots of fresh veggies. Instead of using seasoning packet stuff I used chinese 5 spiced powder, garlic, and low sodium soy sauce.

It's 79 but started out in the 50's this morning. It's the only thing that truly exists. Never look back unless you are planning to go that way. Almost all green yesterday just missed floors, miles and active minutes and came up 129 steps shy of achieving my steps per hour goal but had 13,569 steps. Got in a great Legs and 10 min treadmill walk, 5 min jog at 4.0 and 5 min walk to cool down for a total of 20 min. Tomorrow's workout plan is Chest/Shoulders and 10 min row. It's 4PM and I'm almost all green just going to miss floors today but will achieve my steps per hour goal and have well over 13K steps.

On the salt issue..I have had to be a salt detective for a long time. I try to do as much as can to eat clean. Agree with others, if it is processed it is salt! I have looked up menus at favorite dine in restaurants. Each one has one meal that I will order. Dont think grilled chicken salads are low. They are 1,000 or more due to chicken is shipped in a salt brine. There is one name brand I have discovered is that does not ship in salt brine. I even have called and talked to them. Some grocery stores have a natural line. These are sometimes low. If you are buying from a meat department , check out your label.

Healthy food I ate today: 2 egg omelette with 1 Sargento reduced fat cheese stick chopped up as filling. Good low cal protein punch to start the day out right!

I do not salt my food once it is cooked and only add a tiny bit when I do cook. I try to use other herbs and seasonings to replace salt. Also, I eat my salads plain--no salad dressings. Rarely do I go over my sodium allowance but when you eat out, you have no idea how much has been used. I also try not to buy can veggies--I prefer frozen as they don't add salt to them.

BELLAMEMAW, I started tracking my sodium about a month ago, and I was SHOCKED at how much I was getting. Now I'm trying very hard to keep it under 1300 (I am 62). There's very little sodium in fruits and veggies, and unsalted nuts and seeds. Animal protein has sodium, and anything that's been processed - in bag, box or can, it's got sodium. Have you looked at salad dressing? I'm oil and vinegar only now! Convenience foods like frozen entrees...ridiculous! Now I'm putting up my own freezer meals, and for things like beans, I'm cooking up a batch and putting in the freezer in the equivalent portion of 1-can (about 2 cups beans). Most days now I am under 1000, except when we dine out. And there's just no telling how much sodium you get in a restaurant, because standards are as varied as the cooks.

I've been tracking my sodium and have been very surprised by the amount of sodium in some food items! I'm not one to add salt to my food and my blood pressure has never been an issue so I was really taken aback when reading labels and doing some research. I haven't been at the high end of the sodium (I'm 59 and shouldn't have over 1,300 mg sodium) but still in awe of how much salt there is in food!

I keep cut up veggies to keep on top shelf of frig. Baby carrots, celery sticks, mini cukes, grapes tomatoes, and/or sugar snaps when want a snack or grab a handful whenever open frig.

Won't know my work schedule for next week until sometime later today to plan my workout times of day and number of days. Results of yesterday's AMRAP Legs Circuit I did 5 full rounds and 2 exercises into the 6th round in 20 minutes. Going to try for 6 full rounds in 20 min next Friday.

Hope all are enjoying the Bingo ITC this week. It is one of my favorites. For my healthy food share, I always have nonfat plain greek yogurt with fruit and a little granola for breakfast.

Didn't get my workouts in yesterday please refer to my blog for 4/4 to see the reason why. Today's workout plan is 20 min AMRAP (As May Rounds As Possible) Legs Circuit. This is a cross-fit inspired workout is one of my least favorite that we did for the women's class several years ago. Won't know my work schedule for next week until sometime tomorrow to plan my workout times of day and number of days.

I went to the grocery store 1st thing this a.m.
Praise God! I didnt buy the tempting foods that I wanted. I bought the healthy foods I needed. My plan for the UVA game tomorrow is to slice squash thinly and eat that with a low fat dip instead of chips.

As for what I have eaten, spinach...I finally made spinach, and I have boxes in the freezer to use. It is so good and good for me, and so easy. I should be having this a whole lot more often. It is so good with eggs, and I had it on pizza the other day when being half good. Here's to Popeye! (B-I-N-G-O)

Biggest challenge for me with the Bingo card will be taking 20 mins to eat. I eat way too fast so I'll have to set a timer on my phone and be mindful emoticon
