Dr Koch said it should be 3 tblspns to a quart of water. He said best to use a rough face cloth because it will wipe away the pollen with one wipe so you don't need to rub.
I hope it works for everyone. I'd rather not try the Emu oil because the emus are killed emoticon

Hope Louie's legs are better soon.

Thanks for the baking soda tip.

Oh, poor baby. emoticon I hope things work out for him. It is so frustrating when our fur-babies are not well.

We lost our last kitty, Ebony, a month ago. He was about 16, and the last few years had several medical issues. We really miss him.

my Sweet Pea goes in streaks of over grooming and I often wondered if she had allergies. I'm going to try this with her. Thanks

So, last night Louie and Lily had their visit to the vet. It was probably more traumatic for me, although Louie would disagree, I'm sure. I would have put it off a bit longer, but Louie has been pulling the fur out from his front legs more than usual. He had this issue when I first got him from the shelter. They said it was from a bad declaw job (don't get me started declawing!). It left his little foot a bit deformed also. As the fur had grown back and he didn't seem to do it anymore, I kept an eye on it, but that was it. Also, he's such a nervous little boy I thought that may be the problem with many of his issues.

So Dr. Koch, whom I adore...he's like an old country Dr. who believes less is more and to go natural wherever possible . . . he took me through Sushi's final years..wouldn't let me put her down too soon, but didn't let me go too long . . . and then Smokey...

Anyway, as soon as he saw Louie's legs he said...Pollen Allergy!!! Last thing at night, after bringing them in from the Lanai... take a rough facecloth and wipe his legs with a solution of warm water and good old Baking Soda. Don't rub, just wipe once. Should clear it up right away. If it doesn't do the job, next step is to try Emu oil. Also, non-toxic and helps any itchy dermatitis situation from allergies.

I wanted to post in case anyone else is having these issues...with cats or dogs.
