Ditto here. I work out 3x a day so I readjusted my calories to fit that. Which you can do by changing your fitness goals. My biggest problem is getting enuff potassium and magnesium what a pain. But the for the last 2 days I've fallen under the amount of calories I should be eating. I'm just not hungry anymore. I'm not a huge banana freak but I'll eat it if I really really have to.

It does make sense that too few calories might be a problem, but how few are we talking about? I've heard that you really don't to go lower than 1200 on a regular basis, and it's been a while since I heard that number, so there might be different opinions out there now. Just a really quick internet search just now came up with an interesting article:

ightloss-articles40.html

If you don't get enough calories, your metabolism will slow. It goes into starvation mode and tries to store calories rather than burn them. I think, if I remember correctly, you also won't be building as much muscle, which means you would be burning fewer calories. Building muscle will rev your metabolism. I'm not sure what kind of exercising you're doing either. Are you getting in some strength training?

I think a few days too low or even a few days too high once in a while isn't going to stall you, but eating too little on a regular basis is counter intuitive. You'd think eating less would mean weight loss but as screwy as it sounds, you might need to eat a little more to lose.

I am not getting enough of any of it. I was not coming anywhere near the calories, carbs, fats, or protein. I added the smoothie to boost the protein, carbs, and calories with something healthy.

I feel fine on that amount of calories but I have noticed that my weight was sort of stuck. A friend told me that I may have tricked my body into thinking it was starving going from way to many calories in a day to to little. Does that make more sense?

You said you seem to get a lot less than it's telling you that you should be eating. A lot less what? Protein? Because you then mentioned a protein smoothie. Is there something else in that smoothie that could be increasing your calorie intake more than you realize? Are you drinking it just for the sake of matching numbers that a program is recommending for you? If so, I'd just go more by how you feel than what a program says you should have.

Everyone is different. Most programs recommend around 60 grams of fat, but I know that if I had that much in a day, I'd get sick. I don't tolerate fat very well and I set a lower limit for myself. I try to find more sources of lean protein because I don't eat meat (just some fish occasionally) and so I need to be careful about that. But I also pay attention to when I need it and for what. I always want some protein for breakfast and lunch so that my stomach has something to work on for long stretches and so I have energy for the day. When I'm feeling a little draggy in the afternoon, I need some carbs with that protein, like some crackers and cheese, or yogurt and fruit.

Do you feel you need more of whatever it is you're supposedly not getting enough of? Are there calorie restrictions on the program, too?

I have been monitoring my food intake. I seem to get a lot less than its telling me I should be eating. I am not really sure what to do there. I have tried boosting my protein intake with a smoothie most days. Do you think this could be why it is so hard to lose weight? I am just not sure what to do here. Ideas?
