Good late evening,

It has been a long day and I'm weary, but I decided to stop by before turning off the computer~~

~ Sandra's generosity in spending many hours making graph charts on pre- and post-tests for my work assignment, because I'm not familiar with Excel or PowerPoint

~ a delicious salad for lunch

~ an amazing gathering of women in circle at the prison tonight

~ some communion with the woman who went to the prison with me

Steph, thanks for your concern sister, on the 2nd. The long and short of it is I am having a bout of brevityitis. I think it’s the 1 week kind, and it should clear up and my verbosity return soon. Super yeah for belated 11th!

Yesterday, and Today I am thankful for:

*having a really creative laying out at an entrance garden yesterday- hello it just flowed! I also really enjoyed all the training of the folks since two hadn’t planted for me before, and my foreman on this crew, hadn’t done large shrubs before.

*ice- lots of it, and pain killers for the aftermath of a nice day on site.

*continuing to invoice.

*an amazing caucophony of owls this morning. I think there were three, and there might have been a territory dispute, because they were really going at it. One sounded really different, like a howler monkey.

*being off my feet today, which are killing me. It’s great it’s due to rain, and not “me”.

take care, bob

Good morning,

Always much to be thankful for, even if that's not where my attention is~~

~ Spanish Lit exam is history now and regardless of how I did, it has, as always, been an occasion for learning on many levels

~ awareness cultivated over the years, which is what is, for instance, what is needed to use judiciously today and tomorrow, with another exam ahead on Thursday

~ a very healthy breakfast, full of protein and nutritionally dense

~ a great haircut last week, particularly evident when I wash it, as I did this morning

~ a friend confronting many challenges and moving, step-by-step, toward greater wellness and independence

Blessed be,
xox

At the end of my work day, I focus again on gratitude for so many things, including:

-A wonderful 11th anniversary celebration this past weekend
-The longest and healthiest relationship I've ever had with another human being
-Tracking each and every bite of my planned splurge at our celebratory dinner yesterday
-Plans, including backup plans, for how to deal with 4 days flight on my back with feet elevated after foot surgery this Friday (this will be very interesting as it's normally very, very hard to keep me lying down for any length of time, but I'm also halfway looking forward to it)
-The gift of a Fit Bit, which I plan on exploring while flat on my back!!!
-Good friends in abundance, available for deliveries or company, as needed
-Friday officially ended "first quarter madness" at work and things will get a bit easier now for awhile
-All of you here and this amazing gratitude practice (although I'll admit to being a bit disturbed at the brevity of Bob's posts lately - Bob, clearly you're suffering with your kumquat being gone)!!!!

Thankful for...

plans to meet my brother for lunch and dinner at MIL's for dinner means Mommy doesn't have to cook today.

children dancing with glee over planned trip reminds me to chill out a little over my stress with logistics of making it all come together on my own coordinating plans for four pets and four children.

possibilities and opportunities.

Today I am thankful for:

*”a lovely gentle rain falling”, as my wife would say, or “Yeah, I don’t have to pay to have the nursery watered”, as I might.

*an ok B Si-Fi movie to watch while doing accounting.

*wife coming home eve!

*doing some invoicing finally.

*having quiet for part of my afternoon. I always have noise on- movies, podcasts, music, audiobooks, etc.

ttfn, bob ps. off to shovel out the kitchen, before my wife gets back

This April Fools day I give thanks for ...

* regular correspondence with my two favorite cousins, despite the distance we share our lives from the mundane to the big issues

* brunch today with a friend and new moon sisters tonight

* the luxury of a nap yesterday afternoon

* air conditioning (yes, I turned it on last night -- March, can you believe it?)

* laundry done ... cleaning for this afternoon

* gaining a pound (too much social eating) reminds me how vigilant I must be in order to change my lifestyle and improve my health. More exercise would help!

* As always, a life worth living, all kinds of possibilities, freedom to choose and the growing capacity to make each moment count.

Shine,
Sandra

And so we forge ahead, well into spring, as we begin another month in this community where thanksgiving is the only premise of the team!

Speaking of gratitude, Louis Schwartzber's no fool on April Fool's Day. May this presentation on the life-changing gift of living in "Gratitude" bless you. Check it out...it's worth the less-than 10 minutes you will invest in watching:

The film was released in France (March 2011) under the title Pollen and won the Roscar Award for Best Cinematography at the 2011 Wild Talk Africa Film Festival.
