Grateful for: friends who share good news on their FB pages about new kittens and pups. So much fun. And grateful for dear Rosy's continuing good spirits and happiness. Also, that the days are no longer as hot, even though I know that means winter is coming.

blessings be in all your lives!

On this rainy Friday afternoon, I'm grateful for:

-Cooler temps due to the rains (flooding, actually)
-Great dental care and all who've had to revamp work processes and flow
-Making an appointment (drive-thru, no less) at my very wonderful bank to have my mail-in ballot notarized
-My ballot is cast into the world of prepaid mailings ... decisions, decisions, decisions (is it better/surer to risk the crowds?); I can only "hope" my vote will count ... that word appears to be popping up pretty regularly for us, team
-Knowing that working from home brings extra challenges at times, just going with the flow, but happy a weekend of R&R is near
-These little whisker faces I live with ... maybe, just maybe, I can get their Christmas gift/toy machine from their grandmother set up for them (?????) ... if not now, ...

Have a great evening all,
Stephanie

Last night late I wrote out gratitudes and posted them...never to see them again. Guess they're off flying around in cyberspace. I had no energy to try again then, but I'm here this morning, bounciy and energetic, to try again. So much gratitude~~

~ as I went through photos beinning in the late 70s (to find ones with my beloved departed friend to send to his daughter) I began to realize that my life has been quite fabulous with many great adventures, and it's not over yet!

~ dearest Ann, I can SO relate to your gratitudes fro yesterday

~ got out just after 7am for a wonderful 7-miles bike ride, with a delicious baby breeze making it even better

~ fascinated by yesterday's viewing of Hamilton, thanks to a friend's kindness

~ an entertaining book just arrived, The Queen's Corgi, by the author of the Dalai Lama's Cat series

Blessed be,

Grateful
* For my aches and pains. Reminding me everyday of my aging process and the fact that it is a PRIVILEGE to get old. So many people do not have that opportunity.
* For my guaranteed "swim slot" (1 hour use of the wonderful pool!) 3 x week, since I am working as a monitor ensuring COVID safety guidelines are followed.
* For living in a county that has had little impact from the pandemic.
* For my financial security, when I see so many people struggle
* For my upbringing, which taught me the importance of morality, civility, social skills, education, generosity, and the ability to love.

Tonight I'm grateful for:

-Rainy days, especially those that give a small break in heat and humidity
-Calling 1-800 pizza; some days are just like that (and I'm supporting a local pizza shop doing a contactless delivery) and refraining from ordering a dessert, one treat is enough!
-Cassie and I having a lovely chat in Cassie speak, which apparently I do just fine in
-Rosie's delight when I dug out her long lost toy from beneath the entertainment center
-Cleo, who catches a break starting tomorrow as another one of her eye drops goes to every other day
-My comfortable home, a solid roof over our heads, sheltering us from all storms

Stay Mighty!!

Grateful for: two nights in a row of good sleep. That Rosy continues to be happy. She just played with my sister, picking up an empty tissue box and chucking it around happily, while roo-rooing. Fun to see her play. And for good hamburgers for dinner tonight. Family enjoyed them, yay...

This Monday I am grateful for cooler temps expected this week - not cool, but cooler. I was born for winter, so summer is hard for me.
I am still reliving bits of the four hours we got to spend with the grandsons yesterday. Wylie, at almost 8 months, wanting to touch (and savor) everything. Sy, at almost 3, explaining to me that Clayton is his "old" friend. And hearing him quote a book I gave him "Batten down the hatches, a storm is brewing" as we sat on the sofa with our plastic golf club pirate swords.
I am grateful too for the fact that I actually have some plans this week emoticon

~ SO impressed and glad about your walking "laps" Sandra!

~ a phone call from the daughter of a dear friend, her dad, who died on Friday. She wanted me to share experiences from the years of our time together, because she knows nothing of his younger adult years. We had wonderful dialogue, tears, and sweet sharing. And I'm texting her photos.

Tonight I'm grateful for:

-Absolutely, the best company here ... ever!!!! Bowing in gratitude for my partners in gratitude
-What I call a slug day ... a day of doing, really, nothing, mostly playing my word games nearly dozing on the bed, with kitties snuggled next to me ... a true day of rest
-Listening to the light dance of the rain on my roof ... aaaaaah .... needed rain
-Free water garden refills
-The last of the sliced home grown tomatoes gifted to me ... so tasty
-Continued enjoyment of my current mystery novel
-Having enough space to feed the kitties separately; it's truly the best way

Stay Mighty!

Grateful
* For my life...as I have said so many times before, it is perfectly imperfect. Full of ups/downs/surprises/disappointments/laught
er/pain/and love.
* That the demons I struggle with are somewhat controlled today
* For the residual relaxation from a weeklong get away to the coast
* For my dad staying healthy in his assisted living facility...
* For my "isolation buddy"
* For being able to obtain a "swim slot" (1 hour on M-W-F) by volunteering to be a safety monitor. Our community pool has been closed since March and has re-opened for 8 hours a day Monday thru Friday. But only 4 people at a time, reservations only. TOUGH to secure a spot. But I did it!!! And my body is loving it!

grateful
-for good company here
-definitely! for music and musicians
-for a long call with my mom, who is happy and healthy at 96
-for straight talk with M
-to be creative with movement that doesn't hurt, since it's clear walking for exercise isn't wise just yet
-it's cool enough for soup, which I love

Tonight on this lovely Saturday evening, I'm grateful for:

-Musicians who freely shine their love and light and soul out into the world, healers, they are!
-Two kitties out of three joined me for the Kelley Hunt Facebook live concert (the third is listening from across the hall, already stretching on the bed, I can see her sweet little ears)
-Getting little pieces of yard chores done, as the sun falls in the right places
-Words With Friends fun, me and my word games!
-Back scratchers, yes, those long wooden ones! Relief!! emoticon
-Long, luxurious, hot showers after doing yard work in the humidity

Stay Mighty!

Grateful for:

accomplishing two home projects (well, mostly!) and making room for new food coming in for Rosy and just the pleasure of seeing something be more accessible and better organized.

That Rosy continues to do well and be in good spirits.

That Mom is feeling better. She had a bad migraine, and it was not fun for her. Poor woman!

Good morning dear friends,

~ being a classic Pisces, I'm so grateful that Ann not only has a river nearby, but is also a mere drive to the mighty Pacific.

~ making my peace (mostly) with the reality that these unwanted pounds are not going to be easily shed, but knowing that I will be better served (as I near 80!) to be lighter

~ so glad to have air conditioning when the current heat factor (at 10:30am) is 95 degrees, with 70% humidity (ugh)

~ cooked up a batch of black beans, seasoned to perfection

~ even though my material resources are scant, I feel rich

Blessed be,

This morning I am grateful for you all. I love reading the parts of your lives that are good for your hearts. I acknowledge that my life seems to be pretty easy in comparison, and yet you are grateful. I appreciate your honesty, and know that it makes me dig a little deeper.
Thank you all. emoticon

Grateful for: being reminded that practicing gratitude is just that, a practice, and that it does wonders for resetting your mind into better perspective on the world.

Grateful that: dear Rosy continues to look and behave like a healthy dog. Praying that ocntinues.

Grateful that: I am not alone in this situation.

Maha!! Waving wildly below to you!

Tonight I'm grateful for:

-Breathing easier on work projects due to working hard; heading into the weekend tomorrow on good terms with my deadlines
-EXCELLENT news from our CEO at our monthly company-wide dial-in meeting today: nobody is going back to work in the office in 2020 (could be longer, but at least year-end). I am BEYOND grateful for this one as so many have NO jobs or have to go deal with the world, while I can just cocoon at home with the kitties!
-My admin Fed Ex'ing paper resources/tools to me overnight that will make things easier working at home
-Getting some much-needed weeding done by the water gardens after the sun moved to the other side of the house
-My amazingly well-behaved kitties ... part of it is being nearly 9 now, so they've settled down LOTS
-Sweet Cleo tolerating the eye drop treatments SO well

In the words of Mary Chapin Carpenter, "Stay Mighty" everybody!

Grateful today,
* For a lovely week away, ocean front on the cool coast of northern CA
* For being pretty much disconnected from phone and wi-fit for the week
* For a temporary break in the HOT weather we have been experiencing these past few weeks
* For finally finding the motivation to eat healthy and rid myself of the pandemic pudge
* For my garden which is providing me with more fresh veggies than I can eat or even give away!
* A freezer for garden veggies later this year.

Grief will come to you.
Grip and cling all you want,
It makes no difference.

Catastrophe? It's just waiting to happen.
Loss? You can be certain of it.

Flow and swirl of the world.
Carried along as if by a dark current.

All you can do is keep swimming;
All you can do is keep singing.

(How Beautiful the Beloved)

I heard from a dear friend this afternoon that his mom is very ill and I thought of Gregory Orr's poem . It happens that my friend is a gifted musician, so I'm sure he turns to music for nourishment and solace. (Me too.)

Today I am grateful for so much, iincluding~~

~ Ann playing the piano! (I didn't know)

~ my beautiful piano that looks longingly at me, hungry for my touch (lol)

~ getting out for a 6+ miles bike ride at 7:30 this morning and it was quite magical

~ helath is wealth, as my teacher, Swami Satchidananda, often reminded us

~ a liqud lunch, one of my delicious and nutritious smoothies
