I'm reading The Final Judgement by Richard North Patterson.

I decided to start going through books that have been around for a while that I never read. My husband is really into joining all these book clubs. He gets the initial books for a few cents plus shipping and then buys the obligatory 4 or 5 cancels and rejoins! :) It's not so bad now that the choices of books are better. I think a long time ago, their initial choices were not the really popular books or maybe they just sent you 9 of their choice or something. I found some books down there that I'm quite sure we would have not bought on purpose! It's been an interested "treasure hunt" to say the least! :)

Hello All,

Welcome to the team, Anita. We are happy to have you. Congratulations on your weight loss. Keep up the good work.

I am still currently reading the Outlander series. I am still on the first book. It is going to take me some time to read it because it is over 500 pages I think. They all seem to be very big. I will try my best to get them done in a timely manner.

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend, Hope that the week goes well too.

Hope everyone stays safe, healthy, and warm.

Best wishes to all!

Hi Anita -- welcome to this gang -- reading, reading and more reading. Couldn't get through the day without a good book.

MRI's are the pits - can't stand the noise, even with ear phones and music the vibrations are traumatic. Takes a couple hours to get that smoothed out. But, they do find things or rule out things. So they are necessary evils.

Deb -- are you still "carrying on" ??? We're waiting for news.

The MRI went better than I expected. The Xanax helped, and it also helped that this time, I had my eyes covered; it sounds like such a simple thing but it made a big difference in my anxiety level. I also had music to listen to, which helped to pass the time.

The Xanax made me incredibly tired though; didn't get my reading time in last night, and I went to bed at 6:30pm.

Feeling pretty good today though, even got out for a walk.

Hi - it's still cold here but it's starting to warm up a little. Yesterday one of the pipes in the apt water tower broke where it froze - so we had no water for a little while - we all filled jugs and bottles and jars and a bucket in the bathtub. They put a temporary patch on then are supposed to come and fix it properly today. I haven't checked on the water for a little while. A lot of people in Northern Tucson - or farther out have frozen water pipes and some no heat. So several churches in the area went around and gathered all their elderly and families and took them to the churches for however long it takes. Spriing should be here "soon"...

Welcome to the Book Worm team KATSLC!

I have my MRI in about 2 1/2 hours, I've had them before, but they still make me nervous. I have Xanax to take before it's done, but I still really hate being in that machine. Doing my Sparking early today; the Xanax makes me very sleepy so I'm sure I'll be too tired to sit at the computer when I get home.

Good Morning! Just wanted to stop in and say two things. First, I hope everyone has remained safe and warm through the awful storms that have occurred this winter. I know my sister in NH has been really slammed much harder than usual.

Second, I just love, love, love this team!

Have a great Friday!

Hello All,

Well we got at least 12 inches of snow. There is more coming for Saturday too. A couple more inches, and then there is suppose to be another storm for Tuesday I think. I don't know when it will end. We are having a real winter this year. But that is what is suppose to happen here in Maine. Hope you all weathered the storms ok.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend.

Hope everyone stays safe, healthy, and warm.

Best wishes to all!

I guess it's the season for gastric as well as respiratory problems. On the door of the hospital where I volunteer, I found a big poster warning that some of the wards were experiencing a gastric flu outbreak. I hope I washed my hands often enough while I was there...

Hi all! Hope you are all doing well. We got really lucky and didn't get hardly anything from this latest storm. A little ice Monday night/Tuesday morning and then a little snow and high winds late yesterday afternoon. Hope everyone else who got it worse is safe and warm.

Shari - sorry to hear about the additional mets, but you have a great attitude! Be careful with that shoveling!

Deb - glad to hear you are feeling a little better and making progress in your preparations. I'm sure it all seems a little overwhelming right now, but you'll be surprised at how it will all come together just fine. I agree with Echo...I'll be a spare grandma! I'm not ready for my kids to start having babies yet (and thankfully the girls (at 21 and 19) aren't either lol).

Have a great day everyone!

Thanks! I haven't thrown up since Saturday night, thank goodness. And I can't believe the time is almost here either! We did some shopping last night to get some things off our baby registry (like a travel system) and have our car seat installed. We're more ready than we were before shopping, but I still feel like there is so much more to do!

We had at least 8 inches of snow overnight. I had to do a little bit of shoveling, but I was very careful and took my time.

I'm was a little achy all over today, but it wasn't from the shoveling, just from the cold and the dampness. Looking forward to dinner, trying a new Spark recipe for a chicken soup with pasta; it's been in the crock pot all day.

Hi -- it's even a cold morning here in AZ. Actually have my heat on a little bit. there goes the electric bill. I was hoping to keep it down as long as possible. Do not want a whole lot of higher bills to have to finish paying when I move in June -- but the AC for summer will run it up anyway.

I think I'll enjoy the winters in MN -- That's when I can really do a lot more reading, writing, sewing and crocheting. I never seem to get as much done here as I'd like. Have had so much stress that I've not applied myself properly. I'm so thankful for SP because it helps me stay sane.

Shari - It's so hard to lose special friends. With Mom gone I feel I lost a special friend and the most important person in my life. Now that I'm getting ready to move I keep finding myself wanting to pick up the phone to call her and let her know what's going on. I feel she knows anyway, but it leaves me so bereft.

Deb - It's seems like just a few weeks ago we were so happy for you starting out incubating a new little life. Now, it's time. I know all of us are excited. Can we all be extra grandma's??

I don't have any more appts with my PCP or Renal Spec until May. I still have to have mammograms and followup with Ophthalmologist to see what the really say about my eyes. He and Retina spec beat around the bush - maybe they think I'm just imagining things?? And dental work on my upper plate. Dental stuff is going to take two or three visits at least.
Have some other issues with hip replacement and the other hip, but not messing with that until I get to MN. Need new dr.

Stay warm cuddled under your snuggies - hot tea, hot chocolate AND A GOOD BOOK!!! :) :)

Hello All,

Yes, we are getting plenty of snow. We are suppose to get around 12 to 14 inches. It is suppose to start to clear up tomorrow. Hope everyone stays cuddled up.

Shari, I am sorry to hear about the lose of your friend. It is terrible to lose friends. I am also sorry to hear that they found more mets in the bone scan, I hope that the doctor gives you something to help you with it. I hope it isn't a fracture either. Please keep us posted of the results.

No, I am not going to my appointment today. They called me yesterday and to reschedule my appointment because of the big snow storm we are getting today. They made the other appointment for next Tuesday, Febuary 8th, at 9:00 am. I know it was probably the smart thing to do so fewer people will be out in this storm, but I have been waiting so long to get information about the process to get the Stimulator put in. Now I have to wait another week. I guess I am just going to have to grin and bear it.

For those of us that are getting this storm, hope you all stays warm and hope you don't lose your power.

Hope everyone stays safe, healthy, and warm.

Best wishes to all!

Deb, I hope you get to feeling better soon, and I will keep you in my prayers that all goes well when the baby comes.

I got my bone scan results today. Unfortunately, there has been some progression of the bone mets. I have new mets in the spine, sternum and ribs. There is an area of the T spine that is either new mets or possibly a fracture, but my doctor does not really think it's a fracture because I am not having much pain in that area. I am getting an MRI of that area on Friday to check it out.

He said this is not life threatening, but it will mean a change of treatment. He hasn't decided exactly what he wants to do yet, but I will find out next week. I am doing ok; I'm not alarmed about this, but I am anxious to find out what the new treatment will be and what the side effects will be. I didn't have chemo today.

Shari, I am so sorry for the loss of your friend.

Well, the next couple of days will be good ones to stay inside and catch up on my reading. We had snow last night, now ice, and then lots more snow to come. I can't wait until spring has sprung!!

I hope that everyone is doing well and that all of you stay warm, dry and safe.

Snow here once again. What's to come may be even worse - the forecast is more snow then ice, freezing rain. Hope that doesn't happen.

Hi all! I know I came out here and read posts at some point over the weekend and I thought I posted, but hmmm guess not! We were planning on heading out to visit the girls at SRU after Kevin's concert Saturday but it was snowing quite hard and the roads were miserable, so we just came home instead. So Saturday afternoon/evening ended up being fairly quiet. Sunday was more of the same, so I pulled out a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle for something different to do...I finished it this morning! :)

Today I've been looking around more online for a job and filled out a couple apps. After my hubby got done working, we went to visit the local Snap Fitness. It's very small, they currently don't offer any group classes except 1 and the classes are not included in their membership fees and their personal trainer rates are crazy for this area where I live. Looks like we'll be heading up to the local rec center. It doesn't have as many hours, but it should still be fine and it's a lot cheaper and they have lots of group classes I'd like to try - and they are included in the membership fee.

Deb -hope you can find something to settle your stomach. How exciting to be so close to delivering! :)

Shari - I'm so sorry to hear about your friend and neighbor. Hugs...

We actually has sunshine today, but now it is snowing/sleeting out. It's supposed to be fairly miserable for the next day or day-and-a-half....snow, sleet, freezing rain...oh joy...NOT! Some days I'm glad I don't have to get out and go to work! lol

Welcome new members!

Shari, so sorry to hear about your loss. Even when something isn't unexpected, it can still hit us hard. I hope you get support to help you through this difficult time!

My nausea and vomitting have increased the past several days. I'm not quite sure why, but I have noticed myself feeling quite hungry a lot lately as well. I am just trying to figure out what it is my body wants and needs and get some nutrients absorbed before my stomach expells them!

I'm officially full term today. The baby will be here before the end of February! EEK! I don't feel prepared at all!

I found out this morning, that my friend Toni who I had posted about this weekend, passed away on Saturday. It was not unexpected, but it's still hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that she is gone.

My name is Shari; I have been a Sparker since July 2006, I am now in hospice care for metastatic breast cancer, but I'm not letting cancer stop me from Sparking!

Promise me you'll always remember: You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.

I am short on time for reading all of the previous posts......but I've been trying to find a group that's fairly active an where I might fit in.
I'll be checking back as soon as more time allows....possibly later this evening.
Anyhow, my name is Erin and I look forward to getting to know you.
BTW...I found the SPARK book at the library by chance and almost put it back on the shelf! Thank goodness I did not!

Hi all -- Happy Monday -- called mechanic but said he can't get car in till Wednesday morning. told me not to drive it - have AAA tow it. Then I won't have to go with it and he can take his time working on it.

I hope all you are going to have a good Monday.

got all 3 applications filled out for special programs for housing when I move to MN. Just have to make copies of some other paperwork to attach and have asked Pastor and couple other people to write letters of recommendation. Need all the ammunition I can muster to be sure to be accepted. They have a lot of apt complexes on their list, so that hopefully gives me a good chance of having at least one of them come available July 1st.

Hello All,

Nomis, it is good that you will be going out with a friend to see a movie. I hope that you have a really good time. Have all the fun you can.

Shari, Glad to hear that you were doing better by Saturday. I can just imagine how hard that must be. Take it easy shoveling, even if it is a small area. You don't want to overdo. If you start to get tired soon take a rest.

Darla, Congratulations of the weight loss. That is very good. Keep it up and take good care of yourself. That is what is important. You come first, because if you don't you won't be able to help anyone else.

Echo, I hope that your repairs on the care won't cost you to much. Hopefully the mechanic doesn't have to order anything. Maybe it just might need some tightning. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Hope everyone stays safe, healthy, and warm.

Hello Everyone!
Thanks for the kind words! It is all very stressful to me and I just have to take care of myself and focus on my family. I went to Weight Watchers today. I missed last week but I lost 4.2 pounds the last 2 weeks!! I was happy about that!! A really nice lady at WW has give me clothes in my size twice now! She gave me 2 bags again today and they all fit! She started out in my size so I am very happy she shared them with me. I didn't really need them but I am very grateful for them. I have a really good job now at Office Max making pretty good money so I will be able to save money and be able to move to San Antonio sooner I hope. oh my daughters boyfriend bought her a Kindle!!! I think I want one now after the way she described it. But we are both afraid that it will wipe out bookstores some day. But it does sound really cool! And Erin has read the Outlander series and really liked that. I have not read them yet. Take care everyone! Darla

Nomi, I felt pretty ok this weekend; usually by Saturday I'm recovered from the chemo, and for my shoveling, I don't have a big area I have to shovel. Just a short walkway and it usually takes me less than 10 minutes.

Hi all -- Had to call the library on the renewal line and renew all my audio CD's and one book. they were due yesterday and I won't be able to take them back for a few more days. Plus, I haven't listed to all of them yet.

Have to take car to get repairs tomorrow - some kind of gas leak in the front. A man who goes to our church has a car repair and he's going to check it out for me. Cross fingers it won't cost an arm and a leg.

Hello All,

Nomis, It is a big job to sort out papers from who now where. I am making some progress though. I still have a long way to go. I will see the end some day.

I have just started to read the Outlander series. So far so good. I am already interested into it. It will be a hard one to put down.

Shari, I am sorry to hear about your neighbor and friend's conditions. That is just awful.

Hope everyone stays safe, healthy, and warm.

Best wishes to all!

Shari – I can’t believe you did shoveling and heavy cleaning – hope you are feeling okay. Sorry to hear about your friend and neighbor’s troubles.

Got some more reading done today and also did some paperwork. I am so disorganized with that.

Have a good evening.
