Last weekend I received a notice that my Chevy Spark was being recalled. The letter gave some kind of crazy thing and said it would take them about 30 mins to fix. DH had my car at the Chevy dealership when they opened at 7, Monday morning. They told him about 1/2 hour later that something else was wrong with the car and he could pick it up Wednesday. They did give him a ride home since I had his car. DH couldn't get hold of them today. so when DH picked me up from work we went by the dealership. When I got to the counter, the guy asked if he could help me. I didn't give my name, I just said. I'm here about my car that came in for a 1/2 hour fix 3 days ago. "Well Miss Tillman, he knew who I was by my problem, problem is that you brought your car in on a software recall that should have taken 30 mins, but when we uploaded the data, it fried your, what ever they called it, and we can't find a new one. Let me get you a loner, I expect it to be about 10 days" So my 30 min repair looks like it will take 2 weeks. My car is 6 months old!! So now instead of driving my little white Spark, the smallest Chevy makes, I'm driving this big black Impala. It is bigger then anything I've driven in 30 years.

Tax season, not much fun reading getting done

another dreary cold day - I should be reading something dark while cuddled in blankets ! BUT - I am on my way to get some shots and then PT in the pool - back home to do something with kale - and then settle in and read for a bit - My present book is historical fiction about one of the first female sheriffs - and - WOW - was I surprised a few pages in when I saw that it takes place in the town where I grew up in NJ - and I know exactly where her street is - it is still there - even tho the setting is early 1900's -

I have been reading more and more and really enjoying it. Things are going well here, I am actually going through the house and getting rid of things. I' getting organized which is wonderful. Today it is snowing outside and very dreary. I'm taking a day to myself which is nice. We are just having dinner at home and relaxing. Hope everyone is doing well.

EXTREME COLD WEATHER WARNING in effect. -39C this morning when I showed up for bus duty at the school. One degree colder and the buses would not have started. Thankfully it will be indoor recess. Have a fabulous Friday everyone!

Hello Everyone!
I am starting back on Spark after a long time away. Nothing wrong just kind of forgot about Spark but ready to be back! I read a book on my kindle that was hard to read because the kindle is on my computer and phone. So I ordered this book I finally got in the mail and can read now. It is called 31 days of living well and spending zero freeze your spending and change your life. I am going to start this in March of no spending except on bills and necessary things and follow her plan for getting my whole apt organized and giving away or throwing away a lot of things. It is a very motivating encouraging book! It is by Ruth Soukup. Hope everyone has a good evening! emoticon

Taking every day as a gift from God and being so thankful for my kids and my very funny granddaughter! Each day is a new day and I am thankful for it.

I read Christian Devotionals and Weight Devotionals on the treadmill at 2.0 mph up to 30 minutes before coming into work each morning and just started a new book called "The Perfit Fit"by Sunny forgot her last name. I combine my love of reading with my exercise. Last nite to get in altogether for the day 60 minutes I watched on my Kindle Fire with headphones to be able to hear but again, the time flew by. I just can't walk without doing something else and I moved it from my tv room.

late start today - not much sleep - It is quite a dreary day with fog and spots of snow here and there - a good day for catching up on "things" - paper work - reading - might take a quick trip to library - and I intend on "reading" through some cookbooks - I collect old ones - Today will be--The Victory Cookbook - wartime edition (1944)- this one has been passed down through generations of my family - I love reading the notes written so long ago about how to change it up with what is at hand due to rationing - a history lesson through food -

find the magic today - find the joy -

At 5 this morning when I walked the dog. It was so still it was spooky, 63 not a bit of wind, not an animal sound, no owls, roosters, not even crickets or dogs and the fog as thick as pea soup as daddy use to say. My phone went off that I had a message. I figured it was just a fog advisory and wasn't going to mess with it then decided it might be my husband so checked it. It was a water advisory. A high wind weather advisory. Well it is almost 5P and the wind is catching up with the advisory.

Morning folks. Just checked the weather network and it's official: EXTREME COLD WEATHER WARNING IN EFFECT. Temperature -32C; with windchill -40C. Another day with no outdoor activity. At least I have a stack of books on hand to keep my mind occupied. Finished TWO RIVERS by T. Greenwood last evening and starting GRACE by same author today. I have yet to read a Greenwood novel that I haven't liked. Keep warm out there.

I do chair exercises, there are some great ones on SP that don't do much with you legs. There are quite a few on YouTube. Remember just because you pulled it up doesn't mean you have to do it and if you like most of it and there is a part you can't do skip it. There is a SP team of chair exercises.

so glad I joined this group - and I love your word games !!

cold and snowy by me - I have a wonderful view of mountains in the winter - summer finds trees obstructing the view ---but then I have songs every morning from the birds - so no complaints here -

I am figuring out how to exercise since I have a new health issue that does not favor doing much with my feet and legs - so even walking is a challenge - but I am doing stretching and seated exercises - I figure something is better than nothing - just takes a bit of creativity to get used to this new me - still - I am so very grateful for so much -

Find joy ! great day to all -

I don't do the gym scene, Those places make me break out in a sweat just amazing the torture chambers. Just give a nice quite walk down a country road anytime over a noisy machine. Only thing is right now it is below 0.

I haven't been doing so good in the weight loss department. I eat right and put in the exercise time, so I decided to look into a gym and up my intensity. 30 mins in the cardo room and it was time to go upstairs to the track and cool off. That place will kill you. I'm not sure but it is a torture chamber. I had a day pass and have a couple more I'll use them before I decide this is the answer.

I mentioned to a lady I work with that I had just finished my comparative religion book and was going to read something light. She went in the back and came back with a book a friend of hers had written, of course it is comparative religion. Looks like I'll read something light and then it will be Feel Free to Prosper. A book about mantras to help you make more money.

Just finished UNDRESSING THE MOON by T. Greenwood. Will likely read the latest by Kate Morton, THE LAKE HOUSE. It seems I've had it on hold for ages at our library. Having a more restful day today; I have been really pushing it for a couple of days with flyer delivering. My legs have been complaining and I am listening to them. Hope you are all fine.

Well the holidays were wonderful and I found out my nephew and his wife are expecting their second child. I'm so happy for them and excited. Now it is back to normal and everything is put away for another year. Things are going well here, busy with going through the house and I'm doing a lot of reading which is great. Hope everyone is doing well.

Good Evening to All,
Sorry to hear of your loss Leona. I wish a Healthy and Safe New Year to all.

I have been off the grid too much and need to get back on track and make more time for "me", I really want to be more in touch with my Spark Team Forums as well, they are so encouraging.

Just finished a short book called Coffee, Cupcakes and Murder by William Jarvis. It is the first in a series called Sky Valley Cozy Mystery Series. I am now reading A Season of Angels by Debbie Macomber, very enjoyable.

After a holiday season of eating too much, not exercising enough and as a result gaining weight, I am ready to be more determined about turning myself around and getting back on track.

Tomorrow it is back to the gym first thing in the morning and PLANNING my meals and snacks.

Good Night All emoticon

Some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again.
--CS Lewis

Good Morning For those that don't know, I welcomed my 8th grandchild into the world Wed. Oliver is my Daughters 4th son. Like all but one of my grandchildren he is born on a holiday, ok a day early. Makes it easy to remember birthdays. It's a holiday who's birthday is it.

While their mother was in the hospital I had the 2 youngest boys and one of them decided to share the crud with me. At 8 this morning I had the same number of steps as I got all day yesterday.

Still waiting for new glasses, getting andy that book is calling me.

I am new here, I love to read, and usually have a couple books at a time going. Right now one is Dean Koontz, Seizure, and the other is Glen Apseloff, Overdose, the first one I have read of his, and it is a very good medical drama. Of course Dean Koontz is one of my favorite along with Steven King, Janet Evanovich, and so on and so on. The list is endless, my favorite author is the one I am reading at that moment. lol Hoping to get to know all of you. Linda

I'll check her out. I don't pay much attention to authors. The back cover of the book is what is important to me. Reading still is uncomfortable and my new glasses won't be in for another week at best, but over the weekend I couldn't stand not it any longer and over the Christmas brake read a couple books, ok they were short kindle Christmas books, but I read.

I really enjoyed both books by Jojo Moyes (ME BEFORE YOU and AFTER YOU). Just started THE FOREVER BRIDGE by an author who is new to me, T. Greenwood. Has anyone else read anything of hers? I believe she's written a total of 9 novels.

Mom is 83. I sent her a kindle. She took it to the library. Since they want people to read their e books, they have someone whose job is to teach you how to use your e reader and then how to down load library books. If I remember right, you turn it on and it tells you how operate the e reader, to get books off Amazon and read them.

I have been picking up my book, reading a paragraph and putting the book down. DH said it must be the worlds most boring book. I told him I thought it would be interesting if I could just get into it. It is time to get my eyes checked so went to the eye Dr Friday. It is a new DR. She spent an hour with me, told me my distance hadn't changed much at all, but my near had changed enough so reading won't fun anymore. She then wrote out a prescription for me. Not just the lens like all me Drs before had done, but what kind of frames would be best for me and what kinds of tint I needed on. So the Sat before Christmas I braved the mall traffic, went to 6 eye glass store and not one of them sell the glasses she wants my to have. One tried to sell me two pairs of glasses, 3 just shook their head and 2 said I would have to order the glasses on line and bring them in and they would send them off and get them made for me. Looks like I go back and ask her just were I'm going to find my glasses.

Objects in the mirror will get thinner than they now appear

Just turn it on! I was worriedabout figuring it, too and it was very simple.

I got a gift of a kindle a couple of years ago and was busy with other things, and the training the giftgiver gave to me, I forgot.

So I have this nice gift and I don't know what to do with it.

Took a break from Lauren B. Davis to read INSIDE THE O'BRIENS by Lisa Genova who also wrote STILL ALICE. Just started AFTER YOU by Jojo Moyes.
I truly don't know how I would cope without books to occupy my mind.
