I found some protein powder at walmart for $20.00 today, I think almost anyone can use it. It is in a green container and says great tasting plant based all in one nutritional shake. I bought the berries flavour to try as I add berries to most drinks. It has per. serving 24 grams protein, 25 different vitamins & minerals, 2 billion probiotics from flax seed,2 grams fiber, 3 different non -GMO plant proteins, 5 different nutrient rich superfoods, 500 mg omega 3 from flaxseed probiotics, non dairy, non soy, no sugar, organic stevia added for sweetener, all natural flavours, 200 mg potassium, 550 mg antioxidants. You must take it with food, eggs have 5 grams of protein each, so if you have 2 eggs you could use 1/2 a scoop. If it tastes good I will buy it again, being it is based on all real food & very good for you. I did not like the chocolate hemp, I will use it up in my healthy baking.

I have pleurisy, 2 types of anemia, macrocytic anemia, Iron deficiency anemia, from blood transfusions with wrong antibodies, causes blood to replace daily instead of 100 days, chronic pneumonia, pleurisy, chronic kidney disease, a partially collapsed lung, low blood pressure & blood clots in both lungs for 3 years. Now formed scar tissue.I am 56 years old. I had cervical cancer 6 years ago, no signs last 4 years as well. I have new blood clots now,2019.I am on P.S.T. time zone.

I bought chocolate hemp protein at winners, it says it can be added to baking and says it is smooth & mixes well.

I have a protein shake out of pure hemp protein. Definitely not as yummy as the whey varieties but I add in a half cup of orange juice with almond or coconut milk and it tastes pretty good. There are also some great rice protein powders too. I have a pea allergy and a lot of the dairy free ones tend to add Pea Protein so this has been my solution. I use the Manitoba Harvest Hemp Protein. Hope this helps, I know how hard it can be.

I always have an on the go snack with me for when I go too long without a meal. Just get some rice cakes, put on some peanut butter (or any other nut butter), and I add a drizzle of honey. I stick two together like a sandwich and when I'm ready to eat, I just pull them apart and I got me two rice cakes. It's really filling, quick to make, and very transportable.

I've been using rice milk and I think it helps a bit.

yes, I need a protein shake. it was actually at the recommendation of my nutritionist - I was going toooo long for a meal.

it was too many hours of exercising, getting the kidz ready, etc. until I had breakfast

and I'll be looking into something alternative.

I agree, do you NEED a protein shake? I'm also dairy and soy free. You could try making your own with coconut milk and adding protein powder - but I know a lot of protein powders use whey protein. I'm sure some health foods store as a dairy free/soy free protein powder you could add. As another alternative, you could do a coconut milk based smoothie and add chia seeds to get the protein.

Hi Brenna
Is there some reason you feel the need for protein shakes? I too cannot eat dairy but was told that unless I was doing mega gym workouts they were a waste and getting enough protein from the foods I ate was more than adequate. Have you tried Goat Dairy. I find that cow dairy makes me break out in hives from the protein in it but goat dairy does not, different protein and much much less lactose. Try just a goat milk shake, goat cheese and even goat milk ice cream, all yummy. Hope that helps

I'm trying to go dairy free because it upsets my tummy and I think its giving me bloating and gas.

Now I have no idea what to get for a protein shake since I can't have whey or soy. oh boy. I would love ideas or tips.
