Jane...OMG. People setting fires to find/kill game in dry season. Guam needs a law against this. I am glad church was good.

Lois...I hope heated indoor saltwater pool dissolves your aches and pains.

Karen....I agree this generation of men is better.

I taught my children to do laundry, cook, clean, etc. I told them they would thank me when they were in college and married. My son is a fantastic cook. Better than his sisters.

The phone my son sent me is defective. The slot that holds activation card is broken. I sent son photos. He said he would pick up phone. I waited for him to call/come on Sunday. He didn't. So I left for gym at 2 pm.

I ran into apt manager on my way out. She wanted me to sign a paper regarding bed bugs. I refused to sign since I hadn't read it. I read paper tonight. Own will hold me responsible for exterminator, losses, etc if I sign. I can't sue her either. Own suspects my neighbor may have bed bugs. According to CA law, if the owner suspects an apt has bed bugs, she has to call in bb specialist to inspect. Her inspection was manager going door to door to have tenants sign document. I don't want to sign paper since I read costs could be in the thousands. I shouldn't be responsible for a neighbor owner rented unit to that doesn't bath, clean, do laundry, wash bedding, etc. Plus a tenant across from my apt left country and returned with boxes that are piled to his living room ceiling. I have no idea if these boxes are from overseas, arrived via cargo ship, etc. I am afraid if I don't sign paper I will be asked to move or my rent will be raised very high. I have lived here for 21 years. More stress and probably sleepless night.

Lastly, my youngest daughter with disability is in college. She is having a hard time. College wants documentation as to her disability. She hasn't been tested since high school. We were told she is dyslexic. High school destroyed documentation. She is paying for expensive testing. She already underwent 2 hours of testing. She couldn't answer some questions and asked me for help with them a week ago. She decided to send me questions tonight. Argh! I ended up eating dinner in front of computer. Took two hours to answer questions about her 30 years ago. I researched dyslexia and discovered it is inherited. This led to me recalling I had learning problem. I couldn't read which teacher assumed was vision problem. Teacher phone mom to have her take me for eye exam. Wearing glasses and attending summer school where I had to read story card, self test and correct wasn't helpful. There was no such thing as learning disabilities and special ed than. I had difficulty telling time, and spelling, My dad drilled me in both, which was awful, but both improved. I had comprehensive and writing difficulty too. My sil, a teacher, helped me with writing and it improved. I don't know how I made it thru school. Making it was probably due to the nuns threatening student with corporal punishment that led to me passing state tests with 90s. My brain is burned out, but I hope my answers help DD receive diagnosis that will help with schooling.

I am listening to Joel Olson, which is calming me down.

My kids did some laundry. I worked & they needed sports uniforms washed. They are all good cooks. Younger son was a single dad so he did everything with his son helping. I do think things have changed with this generation of men doing more housework.

Funny you should mention those carpet gliders......because that is exactly what I was attempting to do! Was trying to pull the dresser out from the wall enough to put those gliders underneath. YES, they are great and work wonderful. Epsom salt is also a great idea but only showers in our condo.....but, have been using vibrator/heat frequently and walking slowly. PT son gave me some exercises to do also. It just occurred to me we have a salt water indoor pool here that is heated.....VOILA....my problem is solved! LOL......Now, where did I last see that bathing suit????

Cruises are not my thing. I get motion sick very easily especially on the water. Since I learned to drive I have been ok in a car or bus as long as I am in the front.

Thelma if we can’t complain here where are we going to that those listening really understand.

Because I was a single parent after my spouse left my sons learned to do housework and cook. They do a better job of it now than I do.

Lois, I am so sorry to hear you injured your back. I hope you like your new living accommodations. When things get bad for me I go to chiropractor which really helps. A few times he has suggested going to a medical doctor for some strong pain meds. Hope things settle down soon.

Tee, good that your son got you a cell. Hope you sleep better tonight.

Dry and warm here. Fire season can be the pits especially since some people set fires so when the new shoots come up they can find and kill the game in the area.

Had a good day at church with pastor preaching on the names of the LORD, Jehovah.

Jane..Glad fundraising calls were successful. My license was renewed in Oct and Real ID went into effect Jan 1st. Argh!

Celeste....I bought and used gliders under furniture, etc and they slide off while moving item. Maybe, I don't have the right type.

Lois....Congratulations on the move. Have you tried Epsom salt bath for back pain. It is the only thing that works for me when all else fails.

Thelma....Men! My ex paid bills and balanced checkbook, but did nothing else. He complained during marriage counseling that I did everything. I couldn't even get him to take out the trash or buy milk when he ran out. He was out of work. I was working two jobs
( 7 days a week). I stopped doing his laundry and catering to him. Either he did his laundry or wore dirty clothing and not use milk. His choice. Cruising doesn't excite me either. I get anxious when I do things out of my comfort zone. Then, I do it and enjoy the experience.

I slept little last night thanks to Claritin. Got up early to do things and son calls to inform me he bought me new cell phone that will arrive today. I had to wait for mail delivery and did nothing. I needed new phone and thankful for gift, but it brings new anxiety. I am on sil's account and have to wait until he is off work on Tuesday to activate since he has to give password, etc to carrier. Verizon no longer transfers stuff from old to new phone. I have to do it via internet. Transfer instruction are hell.

Beautiful day here. I am going to grocery than home to do few chores.

Hi Gals......time got away from me......we moved 2 weeks ago and it has been a whirlwind of activity getting settled. I physically did much of the move myself....thankfully am strong enough, or so I thought......after we got in I tried to move a large dresser by myself and did something to my lower back.....walking at snails pace now, can't lift anything including DH legs to get into bed! Not good news! Praying this is temporary and all will heal on itself in time. Been using heat and back vibrator and doing some physical therapy stretches

I am not so worried about the Real ID thing. My DIL on the other hand having a hissy fit cause I am not worried about it. She has said for years to celebrate our 50th anniversary she will take us to Alaska as the one she and DS took back in 2001. I am happy just to be home. All that flying across country to get to cruise IS NOT what excites me...in fact it upsets me to think about it. I know, I know!!! I am playing the "WHAT IF" game but anxiety issues and heart issues does not make the cruise #1 on my list of to do things.
Tee, DH will be in there for 3 days from what I am reading on the booklet given to us. I have made him to take charge of some things I had to do around the house here but his head is harder than a brick. Tried to explain to him I need help in balancing the checkbook...I finally gave up on that idea....told him when the balance is $0 maybe it will get his attention....sorry girls for complaining...I know I am not the only female out there with hubby issues...it's that dang "macho" thing they hold on to that boils my butt. Us women can clean house and then get outside and rake leaves, pull weeds, get in firewood, etc. without any thought of calling it "Mens chores" but some men don't want to cross the line of "Women's chores" at all cost.
JoAnn, yes, post some pics of the wedding. Sorry to hear of your neighbors passing

Suppose to be in upper 70's today before turning cooler again so I plan to get outside to enjoy. Would like to wash off winter grime from vehicles but don't know if my back will let me do that. It has been giving me a real fit of late. Takes me an hour or so to get body loose enough to stand up straight some times. Got an ice pack on back as I sit here now and had the heating pad on last night before going to bed.

From what I understand the new drivers license ID will be needed to get into federal buildings and on the bases as well as use at airports. Most states are giving them out when you renew your drivers license.

Hang in there Jo Ann and take care of your family. You have been waiting for this wedding and family get together for a long time.

Tee, I hope you get the tape of the accident because this has gone on too long. Glad you were able to get some swimming in. Sorry your allergies have flared. Orchids can be fickle. What color are the blooms?

I got the calling done for the Charity Ball that GMHVA is having next Saturday. It is a big fund raiser for the group which helps purchase things for the hospital that it desperately needs.

Take care everyone.

Jane... You don't need Real ID if you have passport. Good to keep passport with you when traveling. I laughed over you never knowing where plane will end up.

Karen.....Your state DMV website should have information about Real ID. My understanding is you won't be able to fly or enter federal building ( PO excluded) without Real ID or passport. Ca kept getting extensions from fed gov't. Feds wouldn't give CA another extension. So, we have to get ID by Nov.

JoAnn....Congratulations on Daughter's Wedding and spending time with family and friends. Post pictures of the wedding. Beautiful weather to be here. Sorry about your WA neighbor passing.

My taxes are done. I had to make u-turn after leaving accountant and stopped at store with video of accident. The female clerk that told me about video was there. She asked if my car was fix. I said no bc her boss won't show video to adjuster. Clerk said she would talk to her boss. I told her if he won't let adjuster see video, ask if he will allow me to see and tape with my cell phone.

I swam afterwards. Ran into a few swimmers I know and stayed for two hours. I took Claritin this morning bc when I opened kitchen window above garden, I developed runny nose, watery eye, cough, etc. Claritin worked. News reported Ca having terrible allergy season due to rain causing plants to grow that haven't grown in years. The orchard on my desk at work has 6 buds. This is the first time is will bloom in four years.

Guam has messed up about the Real ID’s but I plan to get one when I renew my license. As long as I can travel I will keep my passport current because if a plane gets diverted I could end up anywhere.

Karen, I enjoyed watching the squirrels when I visited my sister in Portland. They would run across the power lines in front of her house.

Tee, I am so sorry the insurance people are giving you such a bad time.

I visited the chiropractor for the first time since November. I was too sick for a long time to deal with one more doctor… I was in a lot of pain yesterday but better today but still went to see him and I feel much better.

Thelma...You are better than me. When my hubby wasn't interested in equipment needed after surgery, I let him be and live with consequences. I didn't caterer to him either. You deserve a medal for what you do for others. How long to you expect him to stay in hospital? Hospitals here discharge replacement patients in 2-3 days. I am unsure about turning water off. I turn off my electric except for refrig when I go on vacation. My water heater is electric and water doesn't go into it unless I am using hot water.

Jane...You have a good plan when on vacation. Son back up is a plus. Keeping water jugs in refrig saves electricity when empty. My neighbor fills empty milk jugs with tap water and places in refrig. The cold water prevents thermostat from running frequently.

Celeste...Good that you have Real ID. My state has both licenses. My license had to be renewed before Real ID was offered here. My friend had to get new license when Real ID took effect here. She didn't have mail or pay check as proof of residence and received regular license. My state has been putting off real id. Gov't wouldn't extend deadline this year. So, we need to get it by Nov. I have expired passport and not getting another since I do not plan leave country. Plus passport costs more than Real ID. My state only asked for one form of residence the beginning of the year. So people that received ID will need to bring two proofs for renewal.

Karen...I hope you enjoyed your coffee this morning. I don't have energy in the morning either.

I didn't sleep last night. Got up in wee hours to take something so I could get few hours sleep. My brain goes into overdrive when my head hits the pillow. I am reading Brain/Body Diet by female doctor that had health scare before researching relationship and changing her life. Very informative. Did you know that mothers gray matter decreases after giving birth. No wonder we can't recall our kids name and remember to turn off the water.

Today I left kitchen faucet running (cold water) when I went to bathroom. Thank goodness I had to go back to kitchen before leaving for work. I don't pay for water. Handiman hasn't fixed faucet so it continue dripping. If owner doesn't care and she pays for water, I am not going to stress over it.

I received a notice from man's ins co to download their app and submit pixs of my car. I couldn't figure app out. I figured notice meant they accepted responsibility. I received email from adjuster tonight stating she would review photos I sent and get back to me soon.

I have chest pain, headache, anxiety, etc every time I get email or call about accident. Symptoms are awful. My car was hit four times by other drivers and this accident caused it to resurface. I am losing sleep and appetite bc of it and thinking of seeing GP. My left shoulder hurts too. It started two days ago. I told adjuster I wasn't hurt. Now I hurt physically and mentally.

Good morning all. Love the stories of running water. I smiled, but won't laugh because I know the water bills won't be nice!!

I had to google the info about the "Real ID". I guess I never really paid attention to it. Apparently in TX, they started implementing that type of ID in 2016. So I'm good to go (got mine in 2017). Never worried about it in NY because I still had a valid passport. It expired last year. I just need to get in gear & get it renewed. Not that I PLAN any foreign travel, but ya never know!!!!!

Karen, I hope not but who knows what else I will do. Gotta laugh at ourselves sometimes.

Tee, good to hear the granddaughter is through with radiation. Glad you are getting some time off.

When I leave island I turn of almost everything. I do leave the frig on but it is almost empty. I also leave instruction for my son that if there is a typhoon he is to come in pull the plug on the frig, open the doors and stick the broom in to keep the doors open. I can throw things out when I get home but I do not want to come home to a moldy frig.

I saw the movie Unplanned this evening. It was well worth the cost. If it shows in your area do see it and take your grands if they are in middle school or older. I went to a special showing as the movie comes out Friday, March 29th through out the country.

Love the confession of an old lady...I have so many would not know where to start emoticon We have well water so don't have water bill, but once upon returning from a shopping day long trip found the toilet still running....the chain got caught up and water ran all day! So now when we flush we wait until toilet is filled. I did tell DH the other day that when he goes in for surgery and I may stay at the hospital for the nights that I think it a good idea to turn off power and water to water heater. It is the original water heater when we got the house....32 YEARS ago....people are surprised that it has lasted this long....but with us being away that long I surely do not want to come home to that mess and have to deal with post op issues too.
Yesterday spent all day shopping for supplies he needs to finish up what job he started last summer then had to let go while in the deep winter......when we got home after putting away the few groceries we got I crashed on the couch and fell into a deep sleep. Who would have ever thought that shopping could wipe you out like that???
Looked for patio chairs that he could use after surgery and then we could use them outside as well...obviously he was not into looking for said chair so I just told him he better get used to the dinning room chair cause that is what he will have to sit in...so tired of him walking away and not paying attention. I tried to explain he needs 2 patio chairs....one for the dinning room table and one for the living room to watch TV because I don't want to have to lift and carry the chair from room to room .....not paying attention to me as always...GRRR
Today is cleaning day for elderly neighbor lady....last time I was there she upset me something awful....long story......I sure hope I don't walk into anything like that again today

Jane....Oh! Things like that happen to all of us.

My hubby turned on ingrown pool water to fill it up. Took pool area and patio flooding for him to remember he left it on. He did this several times before setting a timer.

I took 3 mg of Valium last night to relieve stress and slept 10 hours. No pain today. Shows that the amount of sleep makes a difference in pain level.

I completed tax information for accountant and ready for Friday appointment.

My boss is closing office to take her granddaughter, Tina, to Disney next week to celebrate the end of radiation. I am looking forward to time off work.

I read all your posts but responding is another matter.

I had a busy day with lab work in the morning, grocery shopping and church in the evening. Then there was this:

Confessions of an old lady. A few days ago we had not had rain for awhile so I watered some of my plants, had trouble with the hose due to kinks, got them out and went in the house. A couple of days ago I heard water running when in my bathroom, turned off the toilet and still hear it. I tried several things but kept hearing water running so made sure that there was not water on the floor or ground outside in back where the water heater is. This morning I called my son and asked if he knew a plumber that could check my place. He came later as he had someone coming about changing his front door. We looked around, check the bathrooms, outside and checked the water heater and then he went out front. He found the source of the water, that pesky hose that had had the kinks… The water was not running very fast but was continual. I am not looking forward to my next water bill.

Karen...Sorry you forgot to take pain medication. Good to hear you had nice visit and dinner with your daughter.

Thelma....I have same reaction to muscle relaxer. Your pain is probably from doing so much work. Glad DH tooth is out. I hope he exercises and decides on chair for after surgery. I looked in "Real ID" and felt it was a hassle I didn't need.

Jane...My ins premium didn't increase when I reported accident caused by another person and had my car fixed by my ins co, which I think has to do with my ins co being repaid.

I am glad you find handicapped plates easy. I have placard to use since others transport me sometimes. Plus I fear handicapped plate might work against me in a accident. I am glad your church is helping vet family. I do all my banking online. I only go to the bank
occasionally to deposit or get quarters for laundry.

I have had awful 24 hours. Started with trying to leave pool to make eye appointment. I called my friend on Sunday to inform her I had to leave pool at 3 pm. She showed up at 2:50 pm and had me stay 3:15 pm. Jane is right about saying no. This woman always leaves on time when she has appointment.

The eye doctor said right eye needs cataract surgery since she can't see in back of eye and if there is reason I lost my sight in Nov. I told her I don't have anyone to transport me. She said I only need someone 2 times. I got new rx for glasses, which doc doesn't think will not help.

My neighbor called last night at 7 pm to ask if I wanted dinner. He said it would be ready at
8 pm. He must have fallen asleep because dinner arrived at 9:15 pm. I didn't have anything in the house to eat and had to wait for the meal. Eating late led to me falling asleep in the wee hours.

My son called at 7 am today. I heard phone but was too tired and in pain to get up. I planned to phone him when I went potty. Heard knock on my door when I was on potty. I yelled, " I am coming" but person didn't hear. So she got manager and handyman to come to door with her. I open door and see son's girlfriend and two others. I am useless until an hour after taking thyroid med and didn't recognize her, but convinced her I was okay. It was nice of them to be concerned and check on me

Then, man's ins adjuster phones next. Store refuses to let her see video of accident. I gave a recorded statement and emailed her car photos. The man still claims he isn't responsible. I will hire attorney if his ins doesn't accept liability because I can't take the stress, headaches and chest pain every time I discuss accident with adjustor. I couldn't eat, work, etc after talking with her today.

Foggy here in the morning and night makes my joints ache. A friend saw well known infectious disease doctor last week. He said pain is from virus and shows immune system is doing its job. He recommended Russian Rejuvenator. I am in the midst of researching this supplement and may give it a try.

Time for me to knit and relax.

Good Wed to all.

Karen...DH having hip replacement surgery...got so many things to get done before May 6th.
Anyone familiar with that "Real ID" thing that has to be done before Oct of 2020?? From what I am hearing it is a real pain in the arse.....the things that can be thought up to drive us hard working people insane!
Spent most of day cleaning out DH's van...that thing was in need of soap and water on inside and out but not warm enough to do the outside yet. Was a bright sunny day but a bit cool...oh well it is done now so once it warms up a bit more will get outside done
Spent the morning putting out Easter decorations....downsizing on those items....I have a large tote of items to donate after going thru 4 closets and Easter decorations

I am with you on tired of winter weather. So ready for spring . I forget what kind of surgery your husband will be having. Glad that tooth is out. I had a nice visit with my daughter over supper last night. It was nice to hear about her old classmates. They are doing well but have been through many battles.

Still cold and raw here...I find this time of the year I seem to mind that more....maybe because we had a few really nice days that we got out to enjoy. Have had pellet stove burning but think I will fire up the wood stove today and get some real heat in here...need to do some laundry anyway and I hang clothes on a line in basement so the stove helps to dry them faster.
DH made 3rd trip to dentist yesterday for that tooth that has been bothering him...It is now OUT but he has stitches to come out next week. The dentist worked really hard to save it but time is running out to have any dental work done before surgery date. Was given appt. for day to go for surgery education classes. DH still dragging feet on getting chairs that he will be able to sit in after surgery...AND has not done anything toward doing any exercises except to turn the page to look at the pictures of the exercises....GRRRR. It's a man thing combined with a lazy thing here
We have had insurance with same agent for over 50yrs. I have tried to get other quotes but so far none have been able to beat what we have...we used them 2X's and yes just like all insurance companies the rates go up. I was really upset with the company years ago when the Cabbage Patch Dolls were in the spotlight ...the newspaper ran an article on a lady that had a large collection of dolls and the insurance company cancelled her saying she was a liability having that many in her home emoticon emoticon emoticon .
Yesterday while talking to my SIL I got up from chair and felt a pinch in my back...later on my back started to tighten up so I took a muscle relaxer before it got out of hand. Don't know why they had the effect on me that it did but I could not keep my eyes open...slept most part of day on the couch....today is a bit sore yet but refuse to take any more of those pills for a while.
My nephew found a place for his son to go for rehab....it broke his heart to leave him there...he said he looked like a scared puppy when he left and called before he was home begging him to come back and get him. My heart aches for both of them but the boy is where he needs to be before the drugs take him from us to a place that he will not come back.
A drug bust not long ago found enough fentanyl that it would have wiped out 1/2 of our county...and that was just in "grams"...it is really scary how this drug thing has got out of hand

Tee, when it is not your fault having to go through your insurance and then get the premiums raised the next year is the pits. I have handicapped plates and have to follow the rules as everyone else does. The big plus in not needing to remember to put the placard up on the window when I park.

Tee, the father of the family is a vet and that really made a difference in many ways along with six children. We have a lot of Guard members in the church. We have had cities and other communities actually put homeless people on a plane and send them to Guam. A lot of them sleep on the beach.
Taxes, gotta get the papers together…

I can check my bank statements on line during the month and yesterday saw I had less than $100. in my checking account. I am supposed to be able to take money from my savings and put it in my checking on line but I never remember how to do it so I called and had it taken care of. The lady would have walked me through the procedure but I would not remember if I had to do it again in six months so I asked that she take care of it.

I find I have less pain issues if I get plenty of water.

Hope your area is warming up and spring has sprung for you all.

Tee.. i hope your pain flares are gone. I forgot to take my pain meds & my body is not happy. I guess i really need those meds. I am taking 2 less than last year. It is windy out so feels cold. Looking forward to our warm up later in week. I will have supper with my daughter & get to hear all about her trip to Nashville with her high school clasmates. I am sure they have all changed since graduation almost 35 years ago.

Jane...It is nice for your church to help homeless family. Good the family attended services today.

We have so many homeless here there is no place to put them. We have been trying to get city to open a brand new jail that is unused. Haven't been able to get them to agree. Residents collected food, clothing, etc for the children. The parent(s) wouldn't accept it.

Thanks for auto accident stories. I have been with State Farm for 40 years. I reported an accident to them years ago. I was sitting at a stop sign when hit. I was able to go to repair shop of my choice near home instead of taking my car into LA for estimate and repair. The only drawbacks was I had to pay $500 deductible, wait for reimbursement and no rental car.

I had to undergo physical exam and deposition with incident lawyer even when I didn't cause accident and unhurt. Plus a state law requires lawyer to report accident to Medicare. Case can't settle without dealing with Medicare. Medicare wanted reimbursement for every treatment from incident to settlement date and I was uninjured. The lawyer didn't know what treatments were for. So, I had to deal with Medicare. It took a additional two years after settlement to get Medicare to remove accident from my records so they would pay for treatment. It was a nightmare that I won't go thru again.

I assembled tax information for accountant yesterday. I always rely on credit card end of year statement for some information. Well, both cards I use changed the report. Took an hour for me to find information on one ctard due terrible instructions. I just need to type info and meet with accountant on Friday.

I had two day pain flare. Lower flare yesterday. Upper and lower flare today. Soaking in jacuzzi provided little relief. Pool helped the most.

Good morning ladies. I had an accident, back in the late 80s where my car was hit. I had some soreness, but no major injuries. I was really shook up because the car that hit me had handicap plates on it. I thought the I would be the one ending up getting the blame. But I had witnesses & police took down all the info. So, I contacted their insurance company & they weren't going to do anything!!!! I called my insurance co (State Farm) to see how this needed to be settled. They told me I needed to file a claim with them & THEN they would go after the other company. I was flabbergasted!!!!!! This was a major problem for me. I was NOT about to make an insurance claim for something that was NOT my fault & the other drive has insurance!!!! So, after fuming for a couple of hours, I called one of those lawyers that advertise on TV. Made an appt., brought in all the paperwork & they handled it. OH, I did NOT want to go that route, but I also refused to file on MY insurance. All I wanted was to get my car repaired!!! I told the lawyer that this is one of the reasons insurance rates were high. Everything was settled. Believe me, I did not get rich off the settlement - not by any means. But I didn't have to deal with any insurance companies. My agent was a personal friend & she totally understood - but local agents don't deal with this. Some 800 number is who you talk to!! I know - long story, but Tee's post brought it all back emoticon

Texas doesn't have the true 4-seasons like they do up north. Yes, sometimes snow/ice, but it's gone within a day or so. Cold temps? Again, not long lasting. I guess Springtime is the best as far as scenery/temps.

Everyone have a GREAT week!!!!

We have good insurance here. That can be a blessing.

I had a good day at church. We are helping a homeless family with six children with housing until they get their clearance for housing. Our Pastor could not see the children on the streets. They came to services today. Probably the first time they have had the Word preached. Or at least the children...

Tee. . about 10 years ago I was t-boned by a small truck. We both State Farm insurance. I had to really fight to get a fair offer so I could by a decent car. I changed companies when it was settled. Hope it gets settled soon.

Celeste, glad I got a laugh. I live on Guam because cold weather makes me miserable. When the weather gets bad in the summer I can hardly wait to get home.

Karen, your fish fries sound good.

Tee, I am with classmates but I do not pay the fee and seldom even look at the pictures put up. One of the few things I have from high school are my yearbooks.
It does not seem right that the other guys insurance company is making you do so much work to cover your claim with the police report should take care of it.

I have done little today although I did go out and water some plants. It is the dry season and we are having brush fires, many of which are set so hunters can catch wild animals. It affects the water run off when the rains start and affects the reefs with undue soil clogging them.

Take care everyone. Hope it has stopped snowing where you all are.

Jane...I am happy teacher that left island found you on facebook. I was on classmate, but didn't pay fee and limited in what I could see. I received classmate notice yesterday that my grad yearbook was on their site. Yep, it was but I have hard copy in my drawer.

Karen....I hope you were able to enjoy fish fry. Thanks for mentioning liquid silver. I took twice today and feel better.

Celeste...Aren't there seasons in Texas? I read there was snow and heat there. Not sure about fall leaves.

I don't miss the snow or seasons. Raking falling leaves, cold/snow and heat/humidity isn't for me. I am outdoor person and will take rain and fog any day. People that live here and crave seasons can always drive somewhere in the state to enjoy it.

I called man's adjuster today. Man that hit my car refuses to accept responsibility. The adjuster said she is investigating. Dig this...In order to start investigation, I have to give her a recorded statement. Install All State app on my phone to send her pictures of my entire car and speedometer. I told her about the video of the accident, police and gave her store info. I am fed up and thinking of making claim with my ins. Let the adjusters hash it out.

I only slept a little last night and heading to bed.

I pretty much hybernate in the winter. I rarely go out unless someone comes for me except to grocery store, library & drug stores . It is sure a blessing to not have to drive to work, scrap snow off of windows & worry about sliding off road on the way home. It is windy out today but I am thinking some fish from local fish fries would be a Friday night blessing!

I'm sitting here cracking up over Jane's comment to Karen about "the 4-letter word". I could NOT even imagine what that post was about . . . . . . So away I scrolled emoticon emoticon emoticon Karen - I'm originally from Central NY. I moved back there after I retired in 2007. The ONLY reason I'm now back in TX is to help with the grandkids. I LOVED being back up in the land of 4 seasons. Like I told everyone (who thought I was crazy to make the move in 2007), I'm retired - - - I don't HAVE to get up at 5AM to shovel snow to go to work emoticon Will I move back to NY??? No telling what's in the tea leaves emoticon Just not sure I want to do another major move at this stage of the game. But, never say never!!! emoticon

Thelma, what a blessing that your brother is out of the hospital. And another blessing that your SIL takes such good care of him. I enjoy seeing the varied wildlife when I am stateside. Enjoy it while you can.

Karen, so sorry about the four letter word. I am sure you do not want to hear it again for a very long time.

Tee, good that you helped a friend who in turn help you with the pizza.
FB can be a blessing. A teacher found me after she left island several years ago and we keep in touch with FB. No, I do not mix SP with FB. Are you a member of Classmates? They can put you in contact with high school friends.

Hope the weather stays nice for everyone.

My headache is gone, but tummy acted up. Tummy could be from taking coated aspirin nightly. Even coated baby aspirin gives me heartburn, etc. Neighbor asked me to order a pizza for him via internet tonight. He gave me some, which calmed my tummy.

Handymen woke me several times early this morning. They were working near my apt. I thought they were knocking on my door and kept getting up to answer it, only to find no one there.

I use colloidal silver spray Karen. This silver was the first antibiotic and not to be used daily. Only when feeling ill. That's what I read and I read plenty before buying/using.

I use white vinegar, tap water and squeegee to clean windows. Paper towel for drips. I was out of vinegar and used spray with paper towels yesterday.

I didn't see doctor about head pain since it is sinus and my doctors are useless. I ended up with sinus tumor bc they couldn't dx sinus infection.

I found a high school classmate on fb that I have been searching 20 years for. Our grad photos are next to each other in yearbook. I have her wedding photo too. I hope she reads message I sent her and replies.

Karen....I ordered tens machine with bigger pads for under $40. Using machine was the only thing that led to my knee bending when it was locked. No over the counter, rx or herbal medication, cream, spray, etc worked like machine.

Thelma...You do more than I do no matter how much you ache. I am glad your brother is home. God bless your sil.

Jane....Nice that you had lunch with Pink Ladies and celebrated 90 yr old woman's birthday.

It is good that your brother has someone to watch over his hospital care. Medical mistakes happen often. My knee sometimes locks up during The night. I am still taking curcumin & that seems to be helping with my knee pain...not sure how long that will last. I just watched local news & can you believe they used that 4 letter word for Monday. SNOW.

Tee...wish I were in better shape to get more done but guess I should be grateful I can get out and do what I do. Mine & DH's knees have been very painful last couple of days. Today is heavy rains so perhaps it is from that system...hopefully move the heck outta here tonite. Getting up and down the stairs to do laundry and put wood in the stove is very painful. Rubbed some pain cream on and it helped for a very short time. Sorry you have to wait in line to get water leak fixed. Did you go to the Dr after the man backed into your car?? If not then it is never too late to go especially if you are getting headaches and no relief from meds. I got up from table the other day and cleaned my patio windows. Sun coming thru just made my OCD go into over time. What is it with window cleaners any more that leave streaks?? I used white vinegar, water and a dribble of dawn, then used diapers to dry.
Jane, never heard that little ditty of spring...very cute! What a beautiful fish. Can't imagine not hearing song birds. I LOVE it here in the country where there are an abundance of different animals and birds. There is a bluebird singing his heart out as I type this. Of course I do get upset when the deer and rabbits help themselves to my plants so I guess you gotta take the bad along with the good...we have some unusal animals to come in the backyard...there is a fawn that will stand and stare into the wondows of the enclosed patio as if to say "I am waiting for the corn people!!" I tell DH that our Peeping Tom is out there. There is a squirrel that only has less than 1/2 of a fluffy tail...we call him "Stubby". And there is a doe that is very jumping so DH calls her "Crazy Woman"
My brother got home today after spending 13 days in there. I bet he is happy! I KNOW my SIL has to be....she never left the hospital once....perhaps that is a good thing since she had to tell them some things that his body does not tolerate...like the dye they wanted to use and it would have shut his weakened kidneys down for sure. She watches over him like a hawk. If anything were to happen to her my brother would be totally lost for she does EVERYTHING for him.
Got the wood stove going today after being in the 80's the other day....no wonder my body aches!!

Karen, I missed a lot of church when I was so sick. Sometimes I feel like staying home but I am always glad when I go. I could have someone pick me up but I do not ask very often.

Tee, hope you get the headaches under control. They can be a bummer.
I guess a staircase is more important than a leaky faucet but paying for wasted water is not good.
Hope you get things figured out with that man’s insurance. If the police report shows he backed into you then they will have to pay.
Glad it is raining in CA. No more drought!
Sounds like you are ready for spring.

I had lunch with the Pink Ladies today. We celebrated the January, February and March birthdays. One of the ladies I taught with years ago was there. Today is her actual birthday and she is 90! She has been sick for months and I was delighted to see her. She and her husband came out here in the ’60’s to edit the newspaper and they stayed.

Take care everyone.

Celeste...Eating at 7 pm is okay even for post menopausal with slow metabolism as long as you don't eat anything afterwards. I have cup of herbal tea before bed. Oprah stops eating at 7 pm and lost weight. I did too.

Karen....Glad Ohio is warming slowly. I hope you can become involved in church, sit outside and go to garage sales.

Jane....Good that you went to church and have groceries.

I took yesterday off internet. I have been experiencing shooting pain in the back of my head on and off for two weeks. I had headache too twice this week. Took a baby aspirin last night and got rid of lots of nasal congestion today.

The handyman still hasn't come to repair kitchen faucet. He is busy replacing staircase in complex. I received letter from man's ins adjuster stating they were investigating accident. Received phone call and email from adjuster today. Office was closed when I got home. Couldn't open email cause All State website is down. Argh!

It rained in some areas of CA today, but not my area. There were black clouds when I felt for work, but it never rained. Sunny and windy most of the day.

I came straight home from work and washed windows. I wash windows twice a year. Bedroom window was so dirty, I used entire roll of paper towels. Then, I put away space heaters, crockpot, etc. Going to watch tv and climb into bed early.

I got my groceries for the week and went to church this evening.

Celeste, eating late should not be a problem as long as it is limited through the day. At least that is what SP says.

Karen, hopefully spring is finally going to come. My grand niece posted hummingbirds in her feeders in Vancouver, WA. They had snow a few weeks ago.

Thelma, did you ever here:
Spring is sprung,
The grass has ris’
I wonder where the flowers is.

Tee, sorry the guy did not show and now you have more declutteing to do.

I had lunch with the Tuesday Lunchers and had parrot fish. It is a reef fish with the bones all attached with the spine so easy to eat. I have included a picture, I hope.

Jane...Glad you caught up with the lunch bunch.

Celeste....I have same situation. By the time I get home and do a few things, I end up eating at 8 pm. Eating a late lunch contributes to me eating late dinner.

Karen...Nice of you to visit nursing home. I step on scale once a week since daily weigh in is discouraging.

Thelma...You must be in great shape with all the work you do in house and garden.

Handiman didn't come to fix kitchen faucet after I cleaned. I am sorry I reported the problem. Now I have a box of papers to sought thru, which puts me further behind. I knew which papers needed to be shredded/trashed or kept when they were in piles in kitchen. I can't stand it when several things need to be done at the same time like taxes, car repair estimates, new gym registration, etc. It really ticks me off when I have to look for health ins during the holidays. There is plenty of time in the year when nothing happens like the summer. Why can't taxes and ins be schedule then.

Tee - at least your scale shows a loss. I have GOT to get my eating under control !!! I'm exercising every day - thank goodness for that!!!! Part of the eating problem is that I'm eating late during the week. By the time I get home (after watching the grands), I have things I need to take care of & next thing I know, it's 7pm!!!!! Even the nights where I THINK I'm eating sensibly, that is still too late for me to be eating. Got into this habit one time (years ago) and it's a booger to break!!!! But I'll keep trying!!!!

Celeste, before I broke my ankle my main form of exercise was yard work. I had really gotten it cleaned up after years of neglect. Now I have someone come in and “mow” it and take away any trash that has come in from elsewhere.

Tee, I remember fog. So glad we do not have it here. Need cold wet weather for it.

I had lunch with the Lunch Bunch today. It was good to catch up with what everyone is doing.

Take care everyone and stay warm and dry.

Linda...I love the sign. It is so true.

Karen....Hope the ham/beans and movie was good.

Celeste....Nice to have spring break, and good weather for working in yard. Neighbor was male that lives next door to me. He is usually a hermit, but hasn't stopped calling me for two days.

Jane...Glad pastor's wife surgery was okay and she is returning. I need to get moving on getting tax info together.

I am exhausted. A new gym member that had trainer and lost 60 lbs taught water aerobics today. I participated. Then, swam, lifted weights and cleaned apt for handyman. I only lost 4 lbs since Jan. How can this be when I break my neck exercising and dieting. Argh!

80s here yesterday. Suppose to be cooler with coast fog today.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day emoticon to my Irish friends here. Me? 100% Italian emoticon – but thank you for the green goodie emoticon

Thelma – love, love, LOVE the picture of your little snow angel!!!! How old is she??? Just too adorable!!! My granddaughter is not quite 2 ½ yet & taking care of a child that age sure has “aged” me – LOL!!! Who ever said being around the grands keeps you young hasn’t had the pleasure of being around one 8-10 hours/day, 5x week emoticon

I did my taxes in February – as soon as I had all my paperwork.

Jane – I’d like to see the twirling cane too emoticon

Tee – the neighbor that asked you for a favor SURELY wasn’t your “problem” neighbor!! Have things calmed down with her?

We’ve had some really great weather this past week, so I’ve been spending most of the days doing yard work. Oh – this past week was Spring Break here, so I had the week “off” emoticon Even though I do NOT have a large yard, there is still work to be done. I don’t have the deer/rabbit problem here (like I did up in NY), but when summer gets here, I don’t want to mess with trying to keep up with everything in the HEAT!! Thelma – be VERY careful if you use the tiller. It’s been 10 years since I used one to help my Aunt with her garden. Those 2 summers about did me in!! I told everyone that now I know why I get my veggies from the grocery store emoticon

Thelma, no video of me twirling a cane.

I love your idea of encouraging the butterflies. The caterpillars have about wiped out my Crown Plant so I am going to have to figure out what to do to save it. My grandniece posted a video of hummingbirds in Vancouver, WA. They had snow in February so it was a surprise.
Your granddaughter is adorable.

Jo Ann, good to have your taxes down. Careful with the computer as we do not want to loose you.

Thanks for jogging my brain about getting my taxes done.

Tee, sometimes we need to learn to say no. I know that can be hard. Taking care of yourself should be a high priority.

We had some good Bible lessons at church today. One of our Pastors will be back with his wife tomorrow morning. She had suregery on her knee in the Philipppines.

Jane....Good that showers kept temperature down.

Thelma.. Precious snow angel. Sorry about sil. I will pray for his recovery. PB chocolate birthday cake. We only live once.

Karen...recipe sounds delicious. I used to make cookies, etc. Now, I buy or do without. I am too lazy to cook for myself.

Jo Ann....Glad you got taxes done. Sorry about computer.

I have appointment with tax preparer the last day of this month since I haven't received all information needed. My computer has been running slow too. I checked internet speed. It is fine. I think problem was my virus protector. I upgraded and computer working faster.

I know why I can't get anything done on my day off. My neighbor asked me for a favor when I was leaving to food shop. Then, manager cornered me and asked me for favor when I came home. These favors always internet related and consumes a lot of time. I was suppose make sheet of tax deductions and tidy apt since handyman coming to replace kitchen faucet on Monday. Never got around to either.

The heat is on in Ca. It was 80s on Sat and hotter today. Nose and cough acting up. I took 1/4 tablet of benadryl, which stopped both. Hopefully, I will have a restful night's sleep tonight.

Good morning girls! Spent all day yesterday outside cleaning up the yard...was sunny and dang near 80 so my thermometer said. I am stiff and sore today but my gosh I was so much in need of getting out of the house and cleaning up the yard after winter's wind and ice. I know March can be a fickle month. When at home on my birthday we wore shorts...9 days later on my sister's birthday we wore snow boots....so anything goes.
BD still in hospital as having breathing issues...took him to ICU yesterday...removed 25 lbs fluid..NOT coming home this weekend for sure
I have seen some ingredients for healthy desserts and I am like..."Well NO THANKS!" I was reminded the other night that birthday cake has no calories.... emoticon DS stopped at market and bought a chocolate p-nut butter cake....OMG so good!!! emoticon emoticon
Jane you must send us a video of the twirling of the cane....my arthritic fingers/hands likely not be able to do any twirling....Arms and fingers ache from using rake all day yesterday
Tee...yeah I could swim all day without kids jumping on me.....today's parents don't watch or correct their kids the way they should....and then they wonder why they are out of hand or gt into trouble.
Much cooler today so think I will finish up the painting I started of the office.....been trying to repaint all the trim throughout the house....just did not think it would take this long
My flower beds look sad and guess they will stay that way since DH will not be able to get the mulch to put on them this year...and I won't have time to plant or tend to the flowers anyway. We may not plant a garden this year...I am not happy about that...but then again never happy when the deer and rabbits help themselves to what we do plant. I told DH if I can handle the tiller I may just put rows of flowers out.....the butterflies went crazy over what little I had in edge of garden last year.
Getting ready to watch for the first arrivals of humming birds in a month...Can't wait!! Bought some new feeders last year at end of season when on sale

Karen, a healthy chocolate chip cookie? Sounds interesting.

Tee, the new gym sounds great. Not having kids jump on you while in the pool sounds good too.

It has been gray here with some light showers off and on today which does help keep the temperatures down.

Twirling a cane can be tricky but it is fun.

Have a good day everyone.

Karen...I wished I lived near you and taste the food you make. What did you put in the health cookies? I have been dying to make black bean brownies, but my urge left after tasting bbb bits. emoticon

I was suppose to get car repair estimate today, but woke too late due to not falling asleep until 5am. The delay gives me time to clean car before estimate on Monday. I went to the gym late. My friends were gone, and I had a great workout.

I stopped at Walmart afterwards to return frying pan that was too small and ended up buying a multicolored top for same price as return. I bought better frying pan at Marshall for less during the week.

A new gym opens here in April that is only a few blocks from the Y. I like new facility. It is an adult gym with two pools and cost less monthly than what I pay for the Y. The Y has become a kids gym that raised membership fee twice last year. More and more adults are canceling their membership due to noise, splashing and jumping on adults in pool, etc. A lot of my swim buddies are gone. I may be next.

It was sunny, warm and windy here today.

GOOD MORNING. It is very overcast & a bit chilly this morning. Not complaining. Many parts of the world have much more serious problems to pray about. I made a healthy choc chip cookie recipe yesterday. I am really trying to prepare more of my food & my body seems to appreciate that. Hope it is the start of a nice weekend for all.

Lois, beautiful!

Roz, it is good to hear from you. Sounds like you have been busy. Yes, old age does that. I was wanting to skip on Wednesday but it ain’t going to happen. But I can still twirl a baton even if it is a cane…

You all are blessed to have Medicare.

Tee, sounds like the guy’s insurance will cover your needs.
Cpap machines can be a pain. I need to order new supplies and keep putting it off. I need to get my act together.

Yes, it looks like CA is going to be okay this summer.

Jane...I am glad you are able to go back to sleep. I have trouble putting books down that I read.

Lois...The cabinet looks beautiful in white. Well done.

Roz...Sorry about the slump. I can't do jumping jack either. At least you tried. I did an easy HIIT (high intensity) video and was shocked about how out of shape I am since exercise regularly.

Karen...The general rule about Medicare benefits is that they do have some general similarities between states. However there are a few exception states that have crafted Medicare plans of their very own. Those states currently are Massachusetts, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. Those three states have created their own internal health care systems that are still similar to the Medicare program, but they do everything themselves. I had doctor's visit, tests, hospital and ER in Pa and Medicare covered all. I learned about reserved hospital days when my dad was in the hospital in NY for a long time. The biller told me that Medicare had lifetime reserve days he could use while he was there. He used half of them. My friend wasn't as lucky. She returned to hospital less than 30 days of discharge and couldn't use her reserve days.

I stopped by store that had video of accident to see if they tape over it. They don't. Clerk said his boss can show video to adjuster and the man is always in bad mood when he come into store. I called man's All State ins when I returned home. Surprisingly, he reported the accident. I gave all the information to rep. She was nice and said adjuster would phone me next week.

I received used new cpap supplies yesterday. The headgear slipped and nasal pillows leaked continuously thru the night, which caused sleepless night. I had stomach ache today. Don't know the cause since nothing changed. It is always something.

Good news is CA is out of drought.
