Today will be a little warmer and it will be a little more humid. It is supposed to be mostly sunny and light breeze. Rain showers are possible for the next 4 days and I would like some so I donít have to water. Yesterday was a pretty good day. I did 60 minutes of walking and had a total of 8,622 steps for the day. I got out and got the garbage can back where it belongs and filled the bird feeders and watered the flowers. I did a few small chores in the house and just plain had a good day. Hailley is feeling better and canít wait for her haircut tomorrow. I am sure she will really feel good then.

Popping in to say hello emoticon emoticon ...I have been reading post just not posting myself.....I seem to be either in a hurry or just sit down and go to sleep...grrr. Today will be my first day back to clean for my 94 yr old neighbor lady since DH had his surgery. Since not being there she lost her dog so she wants the rooms the dog spent her time in to be cleaned thoroughly of hair and smell. I have had muscle aches big time for about a month now with each day seemingly to get worse.....this is gonna be a rough day I feel.
Hope all are doing well.....I see that the team did over 2 million steps in the step challenge... emoticon emoticon ladies!!

Sharon...Good to hear Hailley's skin improved enough to have hair cut. For a person that did nothing, you sure get a lot of steps in. LOL Good for you. Doing a little daily on bedroom is a good goal.

I received a nice surprise tonight. I have been arguing with landlord that rent raise was not given 35 days in advance per tenant's law. And increase was only 10 months since my last increase. I received call tonight that the increase isn't due until Oct 1st. So, I donated the increase money that was supposed to be due tomorrow to the brain cancer in Valentina's name.

I felt awful again this morning. Stomach ache, congestion and coughing until I almost vomited. I forced myself to leave home so I could get to work early. Saw ash on inside of my screen door. Remember seeing the ash on screen a few days in a row. I cleaned ash off door daily. Anyway, as soon as I turned car onto another street 10 minutes from my place, my symptoms subsided. No symptoms at work either. Refineries in my area burn things at night. I wonder if the burning is causing my symptoms.

Sunny and 70s today. Suppose to be 80s on Sat and Sun. Heat is why I get nothing done on my day off. I don't have ac.

I canít believe it is already Wednesday and I have done just about nothing around here this week. Today will be a lovely day with temps in the low 80ís with sunshine and light breeze. We are going to have some rain starting to move in later today with chances of showers for the next 3 to 4 days. We could use the rain. Yesterday I didnít get anything done but go to the vet and that seemed to be it for the day. Hailley got an excellent report that most the of bacteria is gone. She is not 100% yet but the vet was impressed and told me I had done a great job with her and she was better than what she had expected. We will continue with the bleach baths and regular baths for another two weeks and then we will have another actual culture done to see if the MRSP is gone. She can get her hair cut and is scheduled for Friday. I did 60 minutes of walking and had 7,463 total steps for the day. I guess I did get the grass clippings and garbage out to the curb for pickup today. That is all I got done.

Tee, I have a wedge pillow and will try it when I am able to get the bed all cleaned off and bedding washed. I am a side sleeper too and will love trying to get into bed and sleep on my side again. That is kind of why I want an adjustable bed because I know I can sleep on my side in one of those. I don't think it will be more than another week before I am trying it.

JoAnn.....It is good you and DH walk in the morning. Thanks for sending Linda group sympathy.

Roz...Nice that your family stays physically fit. Congratulations to your GD for placing in race and dance.

Sharon....How did Hailley's vet appointment go? Can you sleep in bed with wedge pillow? I bought wedge pillow for my dad to use when he came home from hospital. I have one too that I rarely use since I am side sleeper. My friend with COPD bought adjustable bed. I would love one if it weren't so expensive.

I noticed several members gave Linda a sympathy goodie. I am sure she appreciates them.

I live in So CA. I am sure air pollution or allergies is reason I feel ill. Everytime a plane flies past my apt, I start sneezing, etc. It happened again this morning. I took liquid Mucinex fast max today and feel better.

My friend phoned several times early (7 am) this morning. Early calls are usually teller markets that I don't bother answering. After several calls, I got up to answer. She was hyper and said she found an envelope and was sending the money she owed me. Then proceeded to tell me her schedule activities and entertainment for the day. When she asked for my address, I couldn't answer. My brain does work until my meds and coffee click in. She is in some sort of a home. I don't know what type since her stories change. I hope the check arrives so I can rejoin Costco since I ran out of supplies I buy there and tired of paying cash for gas.

I worked a few hours today. I need to go in early tomorrow since office will be closed two days next week for boss's grandchild's memorial service.

Sharon's declutter bug bite me after work. I went to look for something and ended up tossing four blankets into bag for thrift store. I would love to give them cups my manager gave me but she shops at store and I don't want her to see that I gave them away.

Roz, so nice to know you did so well raising your kids and they sound very active.
Tee and Sharon, I really do notice that allergies make us feel worse. That is true for me and my DH. We don't go outside much in the afternoon because it is hot and dry. The past two days we have walked in the morning.

Thinking of Speedy and I did send a team sympathy goodie to her. Praying for her and her family.

Good morning. It is going to be another lovely day today with temperatures in the upper 70ís with sunshine and light breeze. Yesterday was the same and it felt so good to breathe in the fresh cool air. I did 48 minutes of walking and had a total of 7,001 steps for the day. I did 4 loads of laundry so had lots of up and down stairs. Hailley had her bleach bath and today is the vet so keeping my fingers crossed.

Tee, I sleep in my recliner and have for a very long time now. It is because of my COPD that I have done this, I don't know where you live but we had a few days where the smell of smoke and the haze outside was so bad from the wild fires in Canada blowing down with the wind out of the north and I had to keep everything closed up because of it. Allergies can cause so many sick feelings and hope you aren't getting sick.

Good Tuesday morning everyone,
Taking life one day at a time.
My older daughter and oldest granddaughter seemed to have taken up the baton where I have left off because they are so active and are always running 5Ks. They did a fun 5K two weeks ago and my granddaughter placed 3rd in her age group there was also a kiddies dance off and she was 1st, She is 11,
My daughter is 44 I'm glad that they are keeping fit She is presently training for her first Triathalon. My younger daughter who is 40 is also busy with Spin classes and lots of walking.
Did I do something right? emoticon

My condolences to Linda (Speedy)

Much Love,
Roz.

Sharon...It is good to read it is cooler and your breathing is better. I hope Hailley's vet appointment goes well and she can have hair cut. Where do you sleep if not in your bed? I use to fall asleep on my sofa until I replaced it.

I am not feeling well again. Think it is air quality or allergies. Members of my pool class said they woke with sore, scratchy throat and stuffy nose, headache, and didn't feel well. There was terrible burning smell last night. It smelled like my place was on fire, but it wasn't. I couldn't stop blowing my nose and coughing this morning. I felt fine in the pool this afternoon. Then around 8 pm tonight, I started sneezing while watching tv. Sore throat and headache followed. Allergies usually strike in the after sunrise and at sunset. I will try taking Claritin tomorrow.

It is another week and today is going to be better. I am breathing better today so far and will stay positive that it will continue. I have lots I want to do and hope to get at least some of it done. Yesterday was a really bad breathing day and I can only contribute it to the weather. I only did 33 minutes of walking and had a total of 5,562 steps for the day. It has cleared and is cooler today and very low dew point so that is the difference. I hope to get some things done outside and inside. Time will tell. Tomorrow is Hailleys vet appointment and looking very forward to it. She is looking pretty good except she needs to get her hair cut. I will do that as soon as we see the vet and get the okay to take her to the groomers.

Tee, I slept good but just not in my bed. I haven't slept in a bed except at the hospital for over two years. It will take another week before I get all the bedding and the room ready to sleep in again and then I will try it.

Karen...Glad you enjoyed vacation with daughter.

JoAnn. Yeah for pancake breakfast, cooler weather and hubby not needing glasses. I hope colonoscopy goes well. I was allowed to eat fiber, etc until prep day. No red, brown, green, purple, blue food or drinks on prep day. Clear chicken broth, jello and apple juice and lemonade or Gatorade and Miralax on prep day. I was dying for a cracker or pc of bread by bedtime and ate chinese lunch comb after procedure. Good luck.

Thelma...Your canned peaches will take delicious this winter. Good to hear that DH is helping you. Sorry about neck pain. Hopefully it will let up from doing less.

Sharon...Good to read your weather was cooler and you decluttered. I hope you finished bed and got good night's sleep.

Thanks for kind words about Tina's passing. Her family appreciates the prayers.

Speedy (Linda's) mother passed away if you want to leave a message on her page.

I felt good while taking antibiotic. More energy. Early sleep/ waking and weather was hot. Three days after finishing antibiotic, everything changed. I lack energy, have insomnia, more apnea and wake late. Go figure.

The weather finally cooled down here. This is first day I didn't need fans.

It was a nice day. We ran errands and then went for a walk and chatted with a neighbor. The weather is warm and sunny. DH is getting used to not wearing his glasses as much. I have a colonoscopy exam on Friday and so no eating foods with fiber and red coloring is not allowed for a few days before. I bought some applesauce, canned peaches , lemonade without dye in it. I have plenty of white bread and I will eat cornflakes. I usually eat wheat bread and oatmeal but I can change diet for a few days.

Good morning. It will be a cloudy and rainy day today. Winds will be switching to the NW and it will be cooler. I will like that. Yesterday got pretty warm but was a lovely day. I got out and did a few little things in the yard while Marshall mowed and that helped. I walked for 55 minutes and had a total of 8,719 steps for the day. I got most of the stuff off my bed and will finish today and try get some of the bedding washed. It will feel good to get it cleaned up in there.

Tee...so sorry to hear of the passing of the little one....makes you wonder WHY.....with so many evil doers why is it the innocent suffer and die
Well seems the nasty weather got a break for some...I certainly was enjoying it but hey it is summer and the heat & humidity are returning starting today....but it IS summer....and the white stuff to deal with is just around the corner
Worked on freezing up some peaches yesterday...they will taste so very yummy when that white stuff is falling.
Hung laundry on clothesline yesterday....the first load I hung up was nearly dry when 2nd load ready to be hung!!!!
Did some mowing the day before yesterday....now that DH is helping I don't have so much to do on my own.....I am so glad cause I was wearing out and down with the heat and humidity.
DH released from PT this past week so now not so much running the roads.
My body is achy big time this morning...been dealing with a stiff neck for nearly a month now...use heat at night before going to bed....seems to be easing up some days only to be miserable the next day....This getting old is just getting old!!!!

Welcome back Karen. I am glad you had good weather.

I am so sorry about little Tina. Sending prayers for her family.

Sharon good news about Hailley and that you are doing well with decluttering. I have made a little bit of progress and will continue with my donations to the thrift shop.

We went to a pancake breakfast fundraiser at the grange this a.m. They had a good turn out.

The weather is dreary but it's nice to be cooler this afternoon. I did water the flower beds. Grass is dead but will purk up with some rain I am sure. I do need to pull weeds this week.

Today the humidity is down and it is sunny with light breeze and going to get moderately warm. I am doing good. Marshall has been here and mowed and I did a little dead heading and weeding while he was here. Now I am ready to work around in the house. Yesterday I had a good day. I did 55 minutes of walking and a total of 8,667 steps for the day. I got groceries in the morning and then did some decluttering in the bedroom. I am almost able to see the top of my bed. It makes me want to try sleeping in it again. I am still considering an adjustable bed frame but still now sure. I might suggest to the kids that it could be a Christmas or joint birthday present for me. Hailley is doing good and hope to continue with her improvement.

Tee, I am so sorry about the passing of little Tina. Prayers go out to family and friends and no her pain is now gone.

It is clear this morning and the humidity is going to go down and it will be sunny and warm with a nice stiff breeze. I like the low humidity. Yesterday I did 55 minutes of walking and had a total of 8,416 steps for the day. I got out and finished cleaning the garbage can and filled bird baths and watered the plants that were in pots. I then came in and made a shrimp/pasta salad and washed a load of dog blankets and my chair blanket. I need to keep the bedding clean because of Hailleyís skin problem. He vet appointment is getting closer and she is starting to look pretty good. She needs a haircut but wait till I see if the vet thinks it is safe for me to take her to the groomer.

Several days ago someone on one of my groups posted about having to get a degreaser product from WalMart to clean their stove because they just couldnít get the grease off. I sure would like to know what it is so that I can get some because my stove is such a mess and so hard to get the grease off from it. Did the product really work well and was it easy to use? Hope to find out what it is so I can work on my stove.

It was a little cooler when I woke early today. So, I dyed my hair. I didn't want to look like a skunk in front of patients. Went to work early to catch up on paperwork. Spent the first two hours on phone attempting to speak to new ins companies that popped up under Obamacare. Six calls to one company. All automated and no rep to ask claims mailing address. Next ins co automated system states my doctors tax id numbers are wrong. Third and fourth company weren't any better. Hospitals were no help. Send bill to patient(s) stating there is problem with their insurance.

I did virtual walk across the United States with my gym for two years. It was fun but gym gave up.

Inside handle on driver's door broke tonight. Now I can only open door from outside handle. Broken handle was part of accident damage. I received letter from ins co on July 5th that check for handle repair was coming. It still hasn't arrived.

Time for me to climb into bed and finish reading a book.

Invited my 94 neighbor lady to house yesterday evening to see the activity of my hummingbirds...they are very active now and she did so enjoy it when I brought her down last year. Very enjoyable evening but my goodness after that heat wave we had it came up a shower of rain sitting under the porch...it got rather chilly...I took off shorts and put on my fuzzy warm pj's, got lady a big sweater for upper body and fuzzy blanket for her legs. Was trying to take her mind off of her dog passing away a few hours before that.....when I took her home she remarked that her dog would not greet her at the door....felt so sorry for her!
Last day of PT for DH. He has not nor has he EVER done any exercises at home....even though he is active those exercises are important but he refused to do them...he is lucky he has healed well without doing at home....I told him he is the one to benefit or suffer from not doing them....but also told him I turned in my nurses badge.
Nice couple of days...enjoying the less humid for sure....it is mowing day tomorrow so best be getting to bed and rest up and be ready...Good night ladies....sleep with angels

Light rain this morning when I woke up and will have chance of thunderstorms today with higher humidity and partly cloudy. Will also be windy. Yesterday was another nice day with temperatures that were bearable and no humidity with a light breeze and sunshine. I enjoy ever one of those days. I had 55 minutes of walking and 7,233 total steps for the day. I joined a virtual hike page and think it will be a good and fun way to keep doing my steps. I will have to see how it works. Someone on one of my teams posted it so thought I would check it out. I did get some weeding done yesterday and some chores around the house. I got my outdoor garbage can soaking and will finish cleaning it today. It was nasty. Hope to have another good day,. Breathing has been pretty good but with humidity today may have to stay pretty much inside. I can work around the house so it wonít be a loss.

Mother nature turned up the heat in my area. It was unbearable yesterday and today. I went straight to storage yesterday to retrieve turbo fan and put in the living room. Turned on bedroom fan too. No coastal cooling.

Today was fourth day in a row I was in the pool for two hours. My hair looks frizzy from shampooing daily. I am surprised my skin isn't dry. Work was closed due to power outage yesterday. I swam.

I text my boss this morning to find out if power was on. No response by noon. The driveway under my bedroom window was being asphalted. The smell was nauseating. I figured work was closed since boss didn't respond and went to pool again. Text from boss asking if I am okay appears on my cell around 4 pm. Electronics can't live with or without them.

Burnt orange sunset which means another hot day tomorrow.

It is warming a little but so far the humidity and dew points are low. It will be sunny with a breeze today and about 89 degrees. I will try get out early and work some outside. Yesterday I didnít get out because they spayed the yard and I didnít want to be on it. I walked for 55 minutes and had 8,111 total steps for the day. I didnít do a lot but felt good. Barb brought in dinner and we had a lovely visit and got to enjoy some time together. Next week she will be out of town so will miss my night out.

JoAnn, glad that husband came through okay. He will be impressed and now it is just the drops to get through and they are tiresome but not a problem.

I'm personally doing a walk with Walk4Fun. I'm walking across the Florida Keys. Someday I'll make it across if our heatwave breaks!

Heat wave has broke!!!!! I did cancel Dr appt since bad storms were predicted when front went thru along with flooding. Guess what??? storms not bad and no flooding here or where Dr office is located....but I was not willing to risk that. East of us got slammed with severe storms...what a mess they have to clean up.
On another team I am in they do virtual walks.....they pick the trails from the site of Walk4Fun..

www.walking4fun.com/

Yesterday I finished the 2,202 mile hike on the The Appalachian Trail

Total Counts
Steps: 10,634,171 steps
Distance: 4,441.9 miles
Burned: 448,002 cal (128.00 lbs)
Avg steps: 9,279 steps/day
Avg distance: 3.9 miles/day
Avg calories: 391 cal/day
Days walked: 1,146

I jumped the trail to join in on team walks then go back to this one so it was not a continuous walk. My hat goes off to those that do the actual trail! My feet hurt and it was only virtual... emoticon

It will be another lovely day here with low humidity. It will be sunny and 80 degrees which is so tolerable. Cool nights which I love. Yesterday I did 50 minutes of walking and had a total of 7,122 steps for the day. I did a few little things around the house and finished reading a book. Did get to into housework so enjoyed the day. Today I really have to get busy and get something done. My breathing is pretty good today so far and hope it stays that way,. I am going to make a shrimp pasta salad and get out and work in the yard. It really needs work in the garden and around the house. The hot humid weather sure is good for making weeds grow. Hailley is slowly improving and the bleach baths seem to really help.

JoAnn, I don't own a cell phone and really do prefer to email or have direct contact. People spend so little time with face to face contact or talking to people in person that we lose so much. Will be think of you and your husband during his surgery and know he will be happy with the results. I sure was.

Tee, sounds like you had a busy day planed with family and hope all went well and you had a good time. The earthquake doesn't sound good but the day off work sounds like a treat.

Sharon...Good daytime temp and lovely cool nights. Great reading your breathing is good and bath helping Hailley.

JoAnn...We seem to have the same weather. Good luck with DH surgery. Nice your DD will visit soon.

I spent nice, active day with my DD and grandsons from Palm Springs. Day started with packing their car, and breakfast at Norms. Followed with trip to World of Dinosaurs and swimming. Ended with dinner at Islands before they drove home.

There was earthquake this morning that knocked out electric at work. Won't be fixed for 1-2 days. So I am off tomorrow.

Praying for Linda and family.

It's good your doing well Sharon and the baths are helping Hailley.

Thelma, I hope you don't get flooding where you live.

I don't text message but I do still like getting emails (I am an oldie).

Sharon....Good luck with cardiology appointment.

Karen....I read stormy weather will follow the heat wave.

Phone conversations are better than texting for me. Have you ever taken the test where words are spelled incorrectly and you can read the sentence/paragraph? The ability to read it has to do with the brain only using first and last letter of the word to recognize it. That is what I think I did when I read text message. I read text message three times. I saw S and y and my brain though luncheon was Sunday instead of Saturday. The bday lady comes here only on Sunday. Argh!

I went food shopping, did laundry and cleaned yesterday. I cleaned out my dresser drawers. Two bags of clothing going to thrift store. I won't have anything to wear if I keep this up. lol

Sunny and 70s here. I am off to pool.

Sharon, I guess I can figure relief is on it's way to the east coast?? 99 degrees now with real feel of 159...I do believe you could fry an egg on the sidewalk ....I put fresh cold water in birdbath a few times a day during this heat. Sure hope storms that pass thru are not too nasty! Have heart Dr appt tomorrow so if they are calling for anything to be real nasty I am tempted to call and cancel
Not much going on today...DH put in a few DVD's...earlier I did about 30 minutes on Health Walker. Have a veggie platter to snack on and beings that it is National Ice Cream Day I must go by tradition and have some...lol

The windows and doors are open and it feels so good to have fresh air in my house. It is cooler with a nice dew point so the humidity is down. I am loving it. Sounds like most of the week like this. Temps might be warm but it will be low humidity. Yesterday I had 50 minutes of walking and a total of 7,360 steps for the day. I did go out and sit in the sun a little while Marshall mowed. It was nice I didnít get a lot done but did enjoy the day. I do hope to get something done today but time will tell. Hope you all have a good Sunday.

Sharon...Enjoy the air show.

JoAnn...Nice to sleep in. I did same today. Sorry about the mice.

Karen.... emoticon I am sure Jane is enjoying visiting friends and family.

Just to let you know Speedy ( Linda's) mother is on hospice and rapidly declining. I know she would appreciate our thoughts and prayers.

I missed friend's bday lunch today. I read text message three times and thought it was Sunday. Sometimes, my eyes and brain don't communicate accurately. I wish people would call instead of texting. Verbal communication is better for me.

DD and GS are coming on Monday. I am taking them to lunch and swim at the gym before they drive home to Palm Springs.

I am still tired from the antibiotics and will try to get some housework done.

We slept late , I guess we were tired from all of the running around yesterday. I went out to check our trailer and mice had been inside again. They did not do any messing up and were in the traps. DH set more traps. That took care of the morning hours . Not much walking today but I have done some housework. The downtown will be super crowded because of trailer and art shows everywhere. We will do our shopping early at a local market near our home.

Tee , enjoy your visit with your daughter and your grandchildren
Sharon it is a thrill to watch the Blue Angels. I have never seen the Thunderbirds. Nice to be able to see them from your back yard.

It is slowly cooling down here but still quiet humid. We might get more rain this morning and I hope to get my groceries out of the way for the week. Yesterday was hot and humid and I didnít get out to do anything. They did come and do the maintenance on the A/C so that is done for another year. I did 40 minutes of walking and had 6,215 total steps for the day. I didnít do a lot but did catch up on a little taped tv shows and did some reading. Played a few games on the tablet and gave Hailley her bath. She is taking a lot of time out of my day for her health care so time has become limited. Hope the report in a week is good. Our air show is this week and we have the U.S.A.F. Thunderbirds performing this year so the skies are full of beautiful and loud jets preparing for the show. We usually have the Blue Angels but chose the Thunderbirds this year. Love to watch them from my back yard,

Thelma...Sorry about your friend's passing. Preservision contains vitamin C, E, zinc, copper and lutein. All these vitamins are in my multivitamin with minerals.

Sharon...Sorry about the spasm. I am glad the medication worked.

JoAnn....I am glad DH was able to get his pre op today. Does your doctor charge for not cancelling appointment 24 hours in advance or not showing up? Doctors here charge a fee for this.

Today is my son's 45th birthday. Seems like yesterday I was giving birth. He is celebrating by taking a winery bike tour with his girlfriend.

I am anxious tonight and took medication to calm down. My eldest daughter left message this afternoon that she will be in my area with her sons this weekend and wants to meet. I called her at 7 pm. She was eating at Red Robin and said she would call me back. I text her at 10 pm and she was at friend's house. I have a bday lunch to attend on Sunday and can't get her to set a time/place for us to meet. I haven't seen my grandsons in 7 months and want to see them before school starts in August.

Then, a friend I haven't seen or heard from in a year called. She is a foreigner that has me repeat everything. Her DH had heart attack and her health isn't good. After 30 minutes of repeating everything, she was getting on my nerves. So I told her I had to go and contact my daughter.

The Sunday birthday lunch is at 11:30 am. I am not a morning person and lunch will probably be my breakfast.

I hope swimming tomorrow calms my nerves.

I hate spasms, I am glad the medications helped you.

I messed up on an appointment for DH, it was yesterday and we went this a.m. All is o.k. though we were able to get in this afternoon. It was a pre op exam for his second cataract surgery which will be next week.

Our days have not been too hot, a very small amount of rain, I really only call it dew. It is really dry in the woods.

Prayers and thoughts to all who are in the heat and to those who are in pain.

We are getting more rain. Yesterday we had an inch of rain and it looks like another heavy rain will move through this morning. Maybe after today it will start to clear up a little. Hopefully we will get some relief with lower dew points. Yesterday I only walked for 30 minutes with a total of 5,179 steps for the day. My back started to go into spasms so needed to take a pain pill and muscle relaxer and it did its job and I slept most of the day. I am pain free so far today, Hope it stays that way. I hate that the meds make me sleep but if it helps to get better I will take it. I did do a little dusting and Barb brought dinner so that was great. We got to visit and I didnít have to cook.

I don't even want to think about having a power outage with this heat wave going on!!!
Tee...eye Dr said nothing about any drops.....hmmmm. My 94 yr old neighbor I clean for was diagnosed with MD years ago and still going strong...she wanted me to take eye vitamins like she does...Perservision....I did buy some once but they are pricey. Must find out if taking them will counteract with the blood thinner...as I see it right now this being on blood thiinner sure is messing up so many other area's of my life.
Was thinking this morning that with all that has gone on with my life I have not had contact with a friend here on SP and then I had made contact with her on FB...Sadly as I went searching I see she passed away back in April...she was such a sweet soul with a sense of humor that was not to be drowned out by all her health issues and sad situations she was in. Fly High Annie!!

So much is going on that I missed Monday the 15th as being my 11th Sparkversary Day....WOW!! Just seems like yesterday! SP has introduced to to new ways to ship shape up, new ideas of foods to eat, much support, and most of all...WONDERFUL friends! Thank you for being there for me!

Karen...Sorry about the heat wave. I feel sorry for everyone that is lives in hot/humid climate. An affair with ac. lol Thank goodness for ac. We sat in front of a fan that blew hot air on us before ac and thought it was great.

Thelma. My neighbor with MD puts rx eye drops in his eyes. He is 75 and drives, works and uses computer, etc without a problem.

I didn't sleep last night. It felt like antibiotic wired me up. Finally fell asleep in the wee hours and woke with terrible headache. I had to take aspirin, mucus relief and put my face over tea kettle steam to feel well enough to leave for work. Feel fine and somewhat tired now.

My children that live in hot areas have no ac. It broke and repairman can't fix for a few days.

70s and breeze again on the coast.

Hoping to find time to post more...I do read and send love & prayers to all you ladies. I'm in the process of getting my mom into hospice for palliative care here at home. It's breaking my heart but she needs a team and stronger pain meds. It was a hard decision but the right one for her. emoticon

Sharon...Good that Hailley's skin is looking better.

Karen.....Massages are great. I haven't had one in two years. I hope Epsom salt helps.

JoAnn....Glad you finished pt and got rid of trash. We recycle here. Trash company picks up trash two days a week and recycle once a week.

Thelma....Sorry about eye and neck conditions. Eat ice cream to stay cool if you must. I tried frozen kefir and love it. Strawberry is my favorite. Only 90 calories a half cup.

My friend that took warfarin was told to avoid vitamin K foods. She was a veggie and addressed subject with her doctor. Her doctor told her if she ate a salad, broccoli, kale, etc once daily she could continue eating it daily while taking the medication. Just don't increase the amount of K foods she ate daily. She ate a pound of green beans the night before blood testing and warfarin was increased. She never did that again. Everything in moderation.

We shouldn't eat broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, etc daily since it can cause stones. Doctor recommends switching. Eat broccoli for dinner one night. Corn, peas, or asparagus the next day. I could never give up K veggies since I eat pounds of them.

I have been sick for a year and had enough. I have been coughing up green stuff and over the counter med isn't working. Antibiotic ENT prescribed was good and sitting in my refrigerator. I started taking it this morning and my symptoms and pain are gone.

I have a kindle and ipad. I can read magazine on both. Libraries in my area use to allow book check out on kindle. That stopped. I can only check out library books on ipad now. I don't own a laptop. I dislike both for email, bill paying, Spark, etc. My sister sent me her old ipad since she bought new one. The can't use Netflix on ipad since operating system is too old to add the app. I like reading on ipad better since bigger and brighter than kindle. I have cataracts and need brightness to read. I thought ipad would do away with books on my nightstand. It hasn't because I have to wait weeks to months to check out most books on ipad. Libraries here only have 1-2 digital copies of book. I read the first 7 chapters of book I am reading now on ipad. Reading rest from hardcover book.

Daytime is sunny and 70. Coastal fog at night. Temperature suppose to decrease the next few days.

Yesterday DH had PT in morning...I set up appt with eye Dr for afternoon...I had to cancel last month while taking care of DH.....Eye Dr came in and said what few test were to be done...I told her I was having issues with vision....since DH is driving now I agreed to dilatation.....seems I am in early stages of Age-Related Macular Degeneration. Nothing at all can be done to correct or stop it but some things to slow it down. Diet and vitamins were listed....the diet included foods high in zinc...like leafy veggies....like kale......there is my problem...I have to avoid those due to taking warfrin....so I either stop blood thinner so as to adhere to a diet that will slow down progression of degeneration or continue blood thinner so as to avoid a stroke.....well now!!! I either go slowly with the eyes with diet and risk dying quickly with stroke, or go blind quickly and no risk of stroke....decisions, decisions....LOL...dummit!!!!, gotta joke cause right now I am all outta tears I always knew as I got older I would fall apart just did not think they would all gang up at one time on me. Oh, and get this....the tumor on neck starting to ache like a toothache every now and then, with this morning pain in jaw as I was chewing
Remnants of Tropical Storm Barry to pass thru tomorrow and after that the HEAT & HUMIDITY going to ramp up big time.....let me apologize now to Spark People but ice cream is on my list of things to do on those days ...right now I need comfort and cooling!!!!
I bought one of those weighted blankets yesterday while they were on sale and I had coupon too.....this afternoon when I took a nap I pulled it over me as I pushed back the reclining sofa...was not hot as I thought it might be and felt good...got a nice nap anyway
Those affected by the heat stay as cool as you can...hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!!!!
Those with pain I send prayers....and as always love sent to all!

It's very dry here and in the 70's. We need rain. I finished PT and have at home exercises to do.

We got a bit of clean up done this morning and took our trash to the dumps. We just use two cans and don't have regular pick up. When the two cans are full we take it in. I recycle a lot of things.

Everyone take care.

Another hot one today. I will work inside again and see how much I can get done. Yesterday was very productive and had a good breathing day. I did 50 minutes of walking and had a total of 8,123 steps for the day. I did 4 loads of laundry and that was up and down stairs so helped with the steps. I also did a few small projects around the house. Gave Hailley her second bleach bath and her skin is starting to look better. I am hoping this is working. I canít wait till we get through this hot streak and get some low humidity day,. I am getting cabin fever from being inside with other being able to have windows open. I hate to see my electric bill this month. Oh well. If it isnít the A/C it is the furnace so nothing new.

Tee, I never respond to those type messages as they are most likely spam. I have a Amazon Fire tablet and love it. I use it when I am sitting in my chair and I play games on it and read books and all kinds of good stuff. I use my laptop for most of my email and for the groups and things like that.

Sharon...Where do you live? Sorry same old stay in door weather there. I hope the baths help Hailley.

Roz...I am glad you enjoyed both church service and got home safely. My windows need cleaning if you run out of things to do in your place. lol

I have a small second floor one bedroom apt. Doesn't matter how many times I walk around it, I would never make the steps you do Sharon. Going up/down 20 steps to do laundry gives me around 5,000 steps.

It was a slow day for me. I woke too late to make noon pool class and attended 1 pm class. Then, jogged in swim lane for another hour. Gassed up my car on way home and stopped at Sam's club for lunch fixings for work. I bought a stretchy tie dye shirt I love from Sams a month ago. Wore it three days in a row and decided I needed more. The shirts were on sale for $6 each. So I bought three in various colors.

Does anyone own an ipad? My sister gave me hers. It is registered to me. Anyway, I keep getting voice and emails that pad will be locked permanently if I don't contact them. I tried accessing the site in the email. My virus protector blocked it claiming it was a scam. I am new to ipad and don't know if apple really contacts customers or if this is a scam.

Work today and off to bed.

Yesterday was lovely in church. It was a member's birthday so we were given cake and a drink afterwards.which I took home and snacked on, had a nap then did some vegetables which I had with rotiserry chicken for lunch.

I went back to church at 5pm for our annual Missionary service.
The guest minister was quite good, lots of reminders and food for thought.
Got home by 8pm which was nightfall and I"m always so extra cautious since I had the accident in March.. .I avoid night driving as much as I can but it was only a 10 minute drive home.

Today I actually managed to do some dusting and cleaning half of the house will do bedrooms tomorrow ptL after I've cleaned the windows.

Have a good time of day everyone.
Much Love,
Roz.

It is getting to be like a broken record with our weather. It will be hot and humid again today. Yesterday was 92 with the dewpoint at 75. Out heat index was at 103. It will be the same today. I wonít be working outdoors today,. I have plenty to do inside. I did do 50 minutes of walking and had a total of 7,325 steps for the day. I did do a little hoeing and fertilized and watered some of my plants and little things like that yesterday and every little bit helps. I canít wait to have cooler weather and be able to get out and work in the yard. Hailley had her medicated bath yesterday and today will have the bleach bath. I spend a lot of time every day working on her. She is worth it.

Tee, I have a small house but when I walk around from room to room and around each room it adds up and you see different things through different windows all the time so it is nicer than the treadmill. I like to be moving around not standing still and walking.

Thelma...Picture of birds is pretty. Nature is relaxing for me. Ibuprofen is a blood thinner too. Maybe you should ask your doctor for muscle relaxer. Pain is a pain. Can't get around it. Vent as much as you want. Muscles normally shorten when used and leads to tense/knots, less blood flow and pain. Stretching, yoga, message, using foam roller, Epsom salt bath relax these areas leading to better blood flow and less pain.

Sharon...Nice that you were able to get out yesterday. I hope Hailey's spray works. I figured you are walking indoors. I lack the room to do that.

Karen...Sorry you have fibro and arthritis. Good that medication and creams help.

I bought a grease removal spray yesterday. I only cook on stove top once daily and noticed stove backsplash and handles were greasy. Put spray on these areas and waited. Wiped off like instructed. It didn't work. Sprayed again and used magic eraser. Some grease came off but most didn't. Got on internet to see what people recommended. Tried what was recommended. Stove was better, but still greasy. Spent hours trying to clean and it still looked/felt greasy. I ordered Super Clean from Walmart. PIcked up today. It worked.

I got off computer early yesterday. Ate dinner, watched tv, read and slept well. Woke with nasal congestion today. Runny nose next. Took Mucinex fast max and couldn't stay awake. Took 4 hours to get my energy back and head for gym. Pool was empty. So I stayed in water for 2 hours.

I stretch in bed when I wake up. My calves always ache. Today I took big toe on good leg and rubbed aching calf. It felt good. I was able to get up and walk afterwards without pain.

Sunny and 70 during the day. Foggy and cool at night.

Tee

Yes Karen...it is Thelma....I slept what I could today...pain let up for awhile but then ramped back up...getting ready to take a shower...perhaps that will ease the pain some....I need something for the inflammation....that would be something like aspirin but being on blood thinner that is out the question....what I would REALLY enjoy would be a massage....can't afford one and DH last about a minute or so then ask, "Is that enough?"...REALLY??

I did go thru the pics on my new trail camera I got to take pictures of birds in birdbath....I am so enjoying these little creatures in my backyard

Tee... i hope the book brings you comfort. Most of my pain is from fibro except my feet & it is arthritis. Sometimes it is hard not to complain when the pain just doesnt let up. I do get relief from meds & creams. I dont consider complaining about pain as being hypochondriac. I hope you get relief soon, graygranny. I think your name is Thelma?

It will be another very hot day with humidity so will try and get out early and get at least a half an hour done in the yard today. At least that is the plan but time will tell. Yesterday I did get out when Marshall was here mowing and did a little weeding, deadheading and filled the bird baths and bird feeders so did get a few things done outside. I also did a few little things around the house and did my 50 minutes of walking with a total of 6,998 steps for the day. All my kids are at the lake this weekend so didnít need to worry about them just dropping by. Sometimes they surprise me and then I donít get the things done that I need to but I do enjoy their company. Used the new spray on Hailley today and that is nasty stuff. It has a pleasant but very strong odor and is very sticky when wet and makes the fur feel heavy and matted when dry but it is supposed to work so will use it. Hope you all have a good Sunday.

Tee, sorry for the lack of sleep and your pain for the small child. Hope that you will be able to rest a little today. Just so you know that I walk indoors so the weather does not bother me. I walk around in my house,

GrayGranny, I sure don't think you are a hypochondriac. I know what that pain in the neck, shoulders and back is all about and it is not pleasant. I get it in one place and seem to get it under control and it moves elsewhere. Hope that you will soon be pain free again.

Good day team. Sorry not been around much...I do try to keep up by reading post but have not had time to comment. Sorry for those that are hurting emotionally and physically. I have been busy in yard and flower garden....trying to forget my neck hurts....stiff neck off and on for several weeks now....MR ARTHUR taking up residence in my neck....alot of cracking and grinding when I turn my head. Pain cream and heating pad no match for the pain right now. I am sorry for complaining all the time.....perhaps some think I am a hypochondriatic ....but then maybe I am....not sure....do you actually feel pain when you are like that??? I get tired myself of complaining.....Sorry girls....it is the pain talking
Tee...my heart aches for the small child....I know it is not much comfort right now but she will be without pain with Jesus
