BUFFEDSTUFF' I really like this one: the scale never tells the full story.

I am now down 2 sizes since Xmas and I only lost 6 pounds.

The best has yet to come.

Hang in there! Years ago I did the body for life program for 2 months and lost over 20 inches (total on my body) but only lost 8 pounds. But I looked awesome and so will you. Keep doing it and if you havent measured yourself do it now. It wont show all your work but it may keep you motivated to keep going. Now if only we could make a way to make it permanently stay off!

JULIEDIGSDEEP I'm so glad that you posted your frustration. I am experiencing the same thing. Monday will start Month 2... so I just keep telling myself to wait until the end of month 2 before totally freaking out, but thanks for posting your frustrations too!

Don't worry, you will get there too! There were some testimonies I have read that people didn't actually start to lose weight until the second half of Insanity. I think that has to do more with the increase in intensity if anything. I think I am starting to plateau myself, but I was expecting that at this point since I am getting close to my 4th week. Just take your time, get used to the movements and your form; whatever you do...STAY AWAY FROM THE SCALE!!! At most, I would only check once a week. Checking a scale every day is like reverse psychology: you want it to be a certain way, but it goes the exact opposite. KEEP DIGGING DEEP!!!

The words "I can't" are like a cancerous disease...they eat at you until there is nothing left to consume. By saying "I can't" you are killing yourself before even giving yourself so much as a chance to live. I WILL push forward, I WILL dig deep, and I WILL succeed at achieving my goals. Thus, I WILL live on!

You know what, you are already 2 weeks in...SO THAT MEANS YOU HAVE TO KEEP GOING!!! REEKU was right on the money, I noticed some fluctuations in my weight before I saw a steady decline. You said you are seeing differences with your tone, so you know the workout is doing something. Depending on how much you are eating, you can either reduce your intake a little or substitute with cleaner foods like you said.

Just keep it up, you will definitely get there! KEEP DIGGING DEEP!!!

So there can be a few reasons why you might be feeling bloated. How many calories are you eating a day? Are you monitoring your sodium intake? Are you tracking your measurements too?

Also, keep in mind when you start (or amp up) your workouts, your body will retain excess fluids to heal your muscles - which can cause the jump in the scale. This is temporary and will go away within a few days (at most a week)

When you drop fat, you aren't destroying fat cells, you're merely making them smaller (as the body will always have the same number of fat cells except when you're going through puberty & menopause). Next, when your fat muscles release their stores, they will fill with water prior to releasing it & shrinking in size - which can cause a squishy bloated feeling as well.

I can totally help you through this! You are doing great so far & you're noticing new muscle definition - which means that changes are happening!

I am in my first week of month 2 and am starting to feel a little discouraged. The scale has gone up again, my eating has not changed and I am still working out. WHAT is going on? I see some muscle coming through which I love but for the last few days I've been feeling bloated, and it's not that time where I usually get bloated. This is not at all how I expected to feel while doing all this exercise. Maybe I'll try some new, clean foods and see if that makes a difference at all.
