I bought my water kefir grains from Cultures for Health. I also bought milk kefir grains and kombucha starter from them as well at the same time. I am very happy with my purchases! They arrived quickly and after the initial rehydration period I'm off and running making daily water kefir and milk kefir. The kombucha is still in the rehydration process (they said it would take 10-28 days) so I haven't done anything with the kombucha yet.

I was very pleased with Cultures for Health. They have great video tutorials, articles and recipes and offer many fermenting options in addition to kefir and kombucha (sourdough, yogurt, cheese making, etc).

I bought my live, organic water kefir grains off ebay and they arrived in great condition. They multiplied at a fast rate so keep in mind you'll probably need to have two batches going which is good in case you need a back up.

ANTHEAMS - I have milk kefir grains too and I am not impressed mostly with the taste and texture and believe me I've tried a variety of options. I'm just not a fan of milk kefir.

I would like this information too. I tried to use my milk kefir grains to make some coconut kefir and though the first brew was good, the second was less so and by the third they had given up the ghost and turned a rather ashen grey. I hope they are making good compost now!

I've no experience of water grains, but know they're popular with lactose intolerant group members- anyone?

I'm looking to purchase some water kefir grains. Can someone direct me to a reliable source you've had success with?

Thanks!
