If you're going to a local farmer's market, ask the farmers there if they supply any local restaurants. Look on the bulletin board of a local food coop for restaurant ads--and look for any local "green" newspapers, which you can probably find at the co-op (my library has a couple of those free papers as well). Depending on your specific concerns, you may want to make some phone calls for details, but those should give you a place to start with restaurants that are specifically interested in appealing to that market.

Chipotle does claim to serve ethical food. Some times certain markets may not allow them to serve all organic when they buy local. No idea however why many times people get ill after eating here in our only one Chipotle Restaurant since we moved to Rochester, MN.....could be the negligence of people working there? Unfortunately, we have been unable to go in to Chipotle at all....due to the negative rap from our friends and neighbors! emoticon

isn't chipotle supposed to be organic (cage-free and the like)? maybe it's not really "eating out", but it's not cooking, either! my husband and I love that place - the guacamole is awesome! (and you can skip the wrap and have your pleasure on lettuce for a billion fewer calories...)

Sadly enough, we have a lot of farms locally however people in this area don't eat veggies, fruits or much of anything that is fresh.
I did a search for us here and came up with something that is about an hour and a half away. emoticon

In Fayetteville, AR Ozark Natural Foods (a great local foods coop) has a deli and sandwich bar, plus a food bar at noon. Prices are reasonable and foods are all organic. For a "dining out" experience, the Greenhouse Grille in Fayetteville also uses local and organic foods in all their menu although it is pricier than the coop.

www.localharvest.org/restaurants/

I googled 'Organic Restaurants' to find above link where you can click on your state. I found some new places in my state, hope you do too.

I think what you'll find is that restaurants are rarely exclusively organic. Though good luck. You may find that though they don't advertise as organic, they may have some dishes that are organic. Once you've narrowed your search down, you may have to ring around. Certainly those who advertise home grown/fresh seasonal local produce may be more likely to have organic.

Keyword searches would include your area/region/town/city then the words "eating out" "organic" "vegetarian"(if that applies) .

Most places you will probably find, are listed in a green, or eco directory. Have a look there first.
I did a practice search and I got the best results from an advanced search in an online eco-directory.

This is from my area, but will give you an idea of what I found:

Good luck!

I've been looking for an organic type place to eat out close to where I live and haven't found anything. Any suggestions on what to "google" to locate something like that?
