So, I have a daily goal of 3 miles. FB syncs my distance and it shows in the area at the top of the activity box, i.e. 5.5/3 miles. However, it isn't tracking in my streaks so it says I have no streaks for my 3 miles/day goal even though I have been doing this everyday for weeks. I am guessing the streaks come from activities entered, but I can't log the actual exercise part of my walk or run because then it will be double tracking right since FB tracks this and syncs the info? I hope that makes sense. I guess my quesiton is, should I just not worry about this? I hate that it shows no streaks for this goal, but can live with it, if there is nothing I can do.

The race is not to the swift, but to the one who endures to the end.

Sure, when I go to yoga class I have 2.5 hours of no steps! It's a big sacrifice as far as getting steps go! I have to try and convince myself that it's worth it. I do try to get extra steps before, though.. cause I am obsessive about getting steps! lol. Also, this is something that should be logged to show that you were active and burning calories, not sitting on the couch.

Hi - I'm curious if you keep your step goal the same on days when you do different exercises. For example, today I went for a 30 minute swim instead of a 30 minute walk. So I actually burned more calories than if I had walked, but obviously it did not track any steps. Other days I have done pilates, or yoga, or bicycling, and been under on steps, but still felt like I had an active day.

I let the Fitbit track what it tracks. I do typically log some activities to Fitbit if I feel the Fitbit either over or under credits the activity. I don't really track walking workout dvds if I do them (I have one Leslie dvd) it seemed like my fitbit tracked it well enough. I mainly log non step or resistance activities. I do use a heart rate monitor app that automatically logs to fitbit for me, but I actually do delete the entry for certain activities that fitbit tracks well because I found that even if the calorie burn is the same I often lose active minutes for logged activity. Sorry, I know that complicates things a little. But really, it depends. And if you want to keep it simple, you are probably fine not to log activities that can be translated into steps.

I let FitBit count all of my steps, but I manually enter in any other activity that I do. For some reason (I know I probably set it up this way), my FitBit adds an entry on my fitness page everyday. I think it's somehow deciding how much of my day could be considered an activity and inputting that. It continually updates all day long, so I go back the next morning and delete it.

I let Fitbit record all steps. The only thing I ever log is yoga, (which has no steps).
Passionate Tiger, so it was on your waist but the left side? I don't think that should matter. Hopefully that was just a temporary glitch.. keep us posted.

I don't count extra minutes on my fitness tracker bc the fitbit picks up my steps. My force knows if they are "fitness steps" or not.
I have an icon at the bottom of my computer screen and I can tell the fitbit to sync. You can try that to see if it will pick up the steps you say weren't counted.

Staying off the ice out there? Snow I can walk through.

Here's a question about an unexplainable day. At 3:30 a.m. my footsteps in the house registered. During sane hours I walked approximately 5,000 steps that day but saw no more on my counter! It had battery juice. I fiddled with it and put it back on my waistband. That evening it was working again.

Could there be any other guess as to why this happened besides a possibility that it was slightly too far to the left of my left leg? Looked like it was in the normal position I wear it at the time so I'm confused.

But that's beside the point. emoticon

as long as I wear it I let the fb track my activity as long as it picks up the steps I do.

Everybody tells me that they would love to knit, but they don't have time. I look at people's lives and I can see opportunity and time for knitting all over the place. Tammy, the two miles will record as steps on your fitbit.

Hello all,
I use my fitbit everyday but am wondering about tracking. Do you track your fitbit steps AND organized exercise sessions or just the steps on your fitbit? I did a two mile exercise video today, should I track that separate or just go with my steps on my fitbit?
Thanks,
Tammy
