I am not familiar with the singers of today, nor like their music.

When a new singer dies I don't even know who it is but if an old one does I am on it asap.
In my time frame singers that sang you could follow the words, today you need a young kid to explain what they mean. It is a different world out there for older folks.

Yeah, when I was driving the kid to school before I hated when he would try to put on music that he liked. I just couldn't get into it. To loud, to hard to understand the words, or what they were saying just didn't agree to me. I just couldn't get into guys rapping about their expensive cars, their guns, their money, their baby mama's and such. A lot of the newer music just objectifies ladies or puts them down. And brags about how rich the guys are or such. I tried for a while listening to it for him and just said "no thanks". I told him he could listen to my type of music, or we could sit in silence, or he could put his ear phones in and listen to what ever he wanted on his phone. He went with the last one and I was glad to be able to drive in silence and just concentrate on where we were going.

I was into rock and roll, romantic music, western. A lot of the singers I like are gone now. I am not into this loud music at all. I watch The Voice and they just scream when singing. I can not understand what they are saying.

I got the love of all kinds of music from my mom. She had lots of LP's, 45's, 8 tracks and more. I had lots of my own 45's, LP's, Cassettes and CD's. Then I inherited most of my mom's and sister's collections. I have a turn table that I can listen to the records on and can even save them as files on my computer with it. There is a lot from the "RAT PACK", some classical music, lots of country western, lots of classic rock, some motown music, some blue grass music, some folk music, even some metal, heavy metal, pop, hip hop, opera music, stand up comic and vaudeville type stuff.

At work I like to listen to the "Dean Martin" Channel on Pandora the most as it is up beat but not too distracting while I am working. I reminds me the most of the type of music that my mom played a lot while I was growing up. Sometimes I will put it on newer stuff, but that is usually later in the day when I am done with doing my payroll and other main duties. So the music wouldn't be a big distraction to me. I am usually in the office by myself so I can listen to what I want. My boss is a lot younger than me and prefers newer more up beat stuff. So I will usually play more stuff he likes when he is in the office with me. If we have clients in the office, then I try to play something that I think they would like. "Olden Goldie's" for the older folks like myself, and new stuff for the younger crowd, or more like elevator stuff for a mixed crowd.

In my truck I either have it on a local country western station or a local classical rock station.
