Hello ladies,

Happy Monday! Well I have a good start to the day. I already have my workout done! Woohoo. Hopefully I can stay on track with my food today. All we can do is one day at a time.

Cherie-I understand how difficult it is to try to stay on track and eat right when you have to cook for family, who don't necessarily need to eat the same way you do. It's so much easier to just cook/eat the same as the majority of the family.

Jess-The motivation thing has been my biggest problem recently. I want to workout, I know I need to, but the motivation just isn't there sometimes. There have actually been days where I spend more time trying to come up with excuses not to workout than the workout would actually take to get done!! Just keep pushing one day at a time. Hopefully you'll get motivated again :)

Val- glad to c u back here. I gained my weight back as well. Just have to get myself back on target.

Cheri- I run into the same thing with my son. I find it helps to allow him more healthy snacks and larger portions. I will measure my food for correct portions so I can be on target. Then say if we are having meat he gets 4 oz instead of 3, a larger potato and a cup and a half of veggies. Usually this is enough.

I need to get myself on target with exercises. I just don't seem to really want to motivate myself to do this. I know I need to, I just can't seem to want to. Not really sure why I feel like this. Tonight I am working to fill in for someone else and this morning I will take the car in for the rest of the work that needs done to pass inspection so I can renew my plates. Hoping nothing else goes wrong! Wish me luck!

Well, let's start this month off on the right foot! Of course my shakes days were a bust. It is so hard when I have to feed my son...and he needs the calories...he needs to eat...and then as I make something for him that he will eat...I eat it too...ugh.

Well, I want to make good choices for both of us. I want to make a meal plan according to the Choose to Lose book but have I mentioned that I'm not good at making a meal plan...well, I guess if I don't practice, I won't improve so that's what I will do...

Val, it's great to see you! I have not caught on to Jillian's shreds, but I am a Leslie Sansone walking DVD fan. I love my fitbit and although I have really taken the weekend off, I enjoy challenging my fitbit buddies to a weekday challenge and then I push myself to get my 10000 steps a day in.

Hello ladies!

It sure has been a while. Last year was not the best for me, and of course it shows on the scale as I have gained back all the weight that I had lost. I am slowly starting to get back on track or at least I'm heading in the right direction by making small changes daily. I think that's been one of the hardest things for me is because I want to change everything all at once, and then I get overwhelmed, and give up. So I think I have finally convinced myself to just do a little more each day, or a little more each week. I have made great improvements on just drinking water. For me that is a big deal because I am not much of a water drinker. This past week I have seen Jillian (30 day shred) a few times, and have also added lots more veggies to my meals. I'm not sure if it sounds crazy or not, but I can tell a difference in how I feel already!
Anyway that's about it for now. I'm sorry to have been gone for so long and I promise to try and stop by more often. Hope you all are doing well. Take care, and have a great day!

Fathin, good to hear that you are feeling better! Enjoy good health!

Jess, glad you are feeling well, too. Too bad about your car though! I know my car is my lifeline and I would be very lost without transportation! Good luck!

I am doing 2 days of shakes to reset my eating patterns! I have been eating so badly lately and not being accountable. I was reading the Daniel Plan but I have decided that is not quite what I am looking for but the Choose to Loose book looks very interesting. I find I have a lot of books on different methods of dieting and I like incorporate what I like and what I think works best and put them all together into one. So, this weekend I will work out a meal plan and tomorrow I will go grocery shopping! I have been active enough but not eating well so I need to get it right! I'm sure a better diet would be good for my son too! Although he is a skinny beanpole, I'm sure that his calories should be coming from good food, not pop tarts and chips!

Fathin, glad you're feeling better.

Back to work today for me. I am mostly feeling better. Husband is still hurt but getting back to normal. Wish I could say the same thing about my car. I need wipers , two new tires and a $900 major repair. Isn't life great!

Yay, I'm healthy again (or at least, feel like I'm back to health, haha). Past few days, I think I had upset stomach, maybe stomach bug or whatever you want to call it. Yesterday, I felt 80% back to normal to I tried my weekly Frisbee game and still felt ok after an hour of passing flying disks and running around :D So, today, when I felt much, much better, I did my jump rope (got a new rope!) and kettlebell swing and I felt SO. MUCH. ALIVE!

Our weather has been up and down. It was above freezing for a few days and today I wake up to snow again and feels like -11C. That is tolerable. It may get colder by the weekend. I guess it is winter and we should expect this! lol The roads will not be good though and I do need to get out and about today. I guess I will have to be extremely careful on the streets today! I think I would still prefer this weather to floods! Hopefully you continue to be lucky!

It's raining a lot here. well, the monsoon season are always end of year till early of next year. I guess when 4 season countries have autumn and winter, we tropical area have rain and worse, flood. Luckily, our state does not have bad flood, not even close to be declared emergency time. Other states at the other side of Malaysia, they got worst. Just imagined a four storey school building was emerged till only can see the roof.

Jess, hope you and hubby feel better soon! It's tough having to do things when you are sick! I feel healthy and I still just wanna crawl onto the couch and watch TV! But this is my weekend to work and and so the housework is getting done in stages according to priority...do we really need ALL the laundry done...or just the necessities! I'm NOT washing the floor til my days off...the dishwasher can wash any dishes we really need...lol, ok, well, I WILL probably wash the dishes, ONLY because they will get dried on and harder to wash later...Hmmm...or maybe they can soak in the soapy water for a bit...lol I'm tired and this is my last day of this long long weekend! How many people look forward to Monday??!!

Fathin, enjoy your alone time! I know I do! Not that it happens very much yet with one boy still at home...I can dream though! I lived on a farm with many cats, only one momma cat was aloud in the house. The rest would have climbed up the curtains and would make a big mess trying to find a way out! So I would go to the barn where they stay and visit with them there.

I'm in lazy mode this weekend. Parents are away on a trip and it was sort of like a shock when I'm left alone, haha. I wish I can bring my cats inside but they are still not properly train to be comfortable inside the house. They usually end up meowing a lot, exploring a lot and will end up trying to find way to get out, haha.

Been sick here with a sore throat, cough and congestion and lost my voice. Then my husband severely sprained his ankle so I have been having to pickup the slack here at home while not feeling well. Luckily I am not as congested today and husband is starting to be able to put some weight on his foot now.

Cleaned the house and did some laundry today in small spurts between episodes of the ghost whisperer. Now I need to get a nap!

Cherie, if your son studys same history lessons in Malaysia, he can talk to my mom, a retired history teacher, hehe. It's good that he have a session with you, i'm sure it will help more to say out loud what he studied as he used both sight and hearing. as long as he read out correct facts :D

I think i have to be two persons: one is a meek mouse and another a daring cat. the mouse is when at work because i think my team don't like me to overshine or whatever that i always do that irritate them (i like ask questions in meetings, my voice quite loud in phone call coz my low voice usually unclear to other end, i'm always straight to point). the cat is when i don't communicate with my team.

sometimes i think whatever i do, people always complain - my family, my colleagues, relatives. maybe because i look too young compare to my actual age, people always underestimate me, people tend to kick me down.

I survived the week! and now the weekend is pretty much over too. I have been trying to catch up in some odds and ends around here. I feel like such a scatter-brain! So many things on the go and none are fully completed...I guess organization should be a priority...no a main goal! I helped my son study for a history final...I don't know much about history, I just let him chatter away at me...I think if he hears himself, he will retain it better but it's a good thing I'm not taking the test! He has finals and the semester ends next week. Then he gets to start fresh with a new term on Feb 2nd. I think that will be a good thing for all of us!

Cherie, perhaps she wants more attention from her children? Kinda reminds me of my grandma, she's between late 80s or early 90s (during old days here, birth certs usually were not quite accurate). Her current behaviours are so different than when she was younger. Most of time, she forgot who's who in the family. Her children hired a maid as her companion plus do the housework and cooking for her. When I saw her in last month after quite a long time since I last seen her, I was quite shocked on big changes in her.

Jess, now we have three members in the Vivid Dream Club LOL Hope you had good rest day and now feel more fresh!

Today is the start of a challenge that I joined. A kettlebell swing (goal 2000x) and jump rope (goal 4000x) challenge, need to complete in 21 days!

Cheri- I feel for you. I'm the go to for my 88 year old grandma. I hope she is going to be okay soon. The mouth sore sounds very painful.

Well, we are half way through the week...I'm sooo tired...I would just like a few days in a row that I could just go to bed early and sleep til my body says it has had enough...I don't see that happening anytime soon...but on the bright side, I slept very sound last night, no dreams that I can remember...that vivid dream club is exhausting!


My mom has been having some challenges lately and I am her go-to care giver. She burned her mouth on New Year's eve and it is not healing. So we spent 3 hours in the medicentre on Jan 5th to find out she has the cold sore virus in the wound. It is very painful. Then to add insult to injury, I got a call from her on my supper break at work on Monday evening that she had fallen out of bed on Monday afternoon and hurt her ribs...well, it's not like she can get too much help with that...except some pain medicine...and more rest...she is 88 yrs old and until now has been fairly independent aside from a few hiccups...all my brothers and sister live out of the province so "tag, I'm it!" I guess being the one in health care is a good thing but I can't fix some things...I just wonder if she isn't maybe needing more care...

Cherie, welcome to vivid dream club, hehe. I like to remember my dreams then analyze them. I think dreams also a way to tell you what's bothering you, show things that you will not admit in real life. My colleague has a girlfriend and I also have met her (i like chatting with her) so no need to open mind about someone already taken, hehe.

Fathin, I think maybe your dreams are trying to get you to be more open minded about your coworker...? lol My dog can't climb on the chairs in the kitchen, she is too small and scared, so she can't get at the puzzles.

Jess, you still sound more organized with meals than I am. I tend to say...at about 4pm...soooo, what should we have for supper...? lol although I have been getting better about taking something out of the freezer ahead of time. It is a bit of a struggle.

I work today and I need to go get my 10000 steps in as I'm doing a challenge on my fitbit so I need to stay motivated since it is a "workweek challenge" so need to get my steps in from monday to friday! I had a restless sleep last night...funny, vivid dreams, too. I don't usually remember anything but lately I have and they are weird! lol I think I did my workout too late last evening. That's another reason why I will go now and get it done before I go to work. Have a great day!

Jess, don't forget the right and left side of driver, hehe. In Malaysia, the driver is at the right side of the car. So, once we had an American expat here and I asked him, are the pedals, gear and everything else are at different sides, too? LOL

Our family also prepared meals depends on what on sale or currently at low price (depends on the seasons, rainy or sunny or the fruits seasons - remember, Malaysia don't have Winter, Summer, Spring and Autumn, hehe). Beefs always expensive so we rarely eat them so I'm always happy during Eid Qurban when we do slaughtering and get fresh meat instead of frozen meat.

Hahaha-Fathin your dreams are cracking me up! I once had an intimate dream about a guy in high school that I never looked twice at or thought about at all before or after the dream. Trust me when I say that it was embarrassing! Don't worry it is a normal part of life.

Cheri- I like to do puzzles too! It seems so weird to me to hear Celsius when we use Fahrenheit here! I always thought even when I was little that it was strange and arrogant of the USA to use things like miles vs kilometers and Fahrenheit vs Celsius when the rest of the world doesn't! And then we had to learn both in school! I used to get mad about it, lol s! Then I went to nursing school and had to really learn the conversions for dosing. Talk about a pain. There's already enough to learn in nursing as you well know!

So I did not get all my meals planned but I do control portions. It is supposed to ice storm here tonight so I went shopping this morning. We will have chili, beef roast with veggies, chicken breast with bake potato and broccoli, a casserole, a dinner at grandma's, and a leftover night. There is salad for lunches and a few other things. I usually eat an egg sandwich on toast after work before getting ready for bedtime. I wanted that the other night when we ate out but we were out and out of time to shop. I will also be having beef stew this week and make potato soup. Usually we don't have so much beef in a week but we were working with the sale and what we still had in the deep freezer. money is tight.
Normally we have a night of beef, a night of chicken,a night of pork(sorry Fathin- I know you probably don't eat pork), a night of Turkey ,then a pasta, rice, or bean meal or a casserole that can be meatless,and always a leftover night. We usually do chicken twice a week since my husband is allergic to fish and seafood. I wish he wasn't because I love it! Still we have to be careful so I don't buy it.

Jess, maybe you can share your meal plan here. I've no idea on how to plan meals so I usually try control portions of meal of the day :D

Cherie, I would love to do puzzles like yours! But it's so hard to decide what to buy as I end up not liking any design, hehe. By the way, don't you have a pet or more at home? So, how do you avoid the pieces get eaten or stolen by them? :D

Last night, another weird dream. Before I went to bed, I read a manga series about this high school girl trying to be attractive so that she can get a boyfriend. She got a senior from her high school to be her coach though that guy gave one condition: never fall in love with him. The story was funny and I can relate to her story because like her, I don't know what's about me that no guy going to approach me, haha.

Anyhow, back to my weird dream. I kinda dream something from the manga scene and at first, the hero of my dream was a handsome blonde guy (probably because I'm a fan of Tom Hiddleston, Loki's actor from Marvel movies). I was happy with my hero but suddenly, at a romantic moment, my hero transformed to someone from work! I was horrified, not because my colleague is a bad guy but I was afraid that I might have a crush on him LOL

Jess, sounds like your motivation is coming back!! yay!! I know how easy it can be to run and get fast food, then I realized it is even faster to just cook up a couple eggs and toast, or something equally "fast" at home so I don't get as tempted as I used to. Have fun planning your lesson and the meals!! Yay!!

Oh, Fathin, I giggle when I read what you say....I think you probably have a wonderful imagination and I would love to curl up with a good book when it is rainy! It is soooo cold here these days (around -40C with the wind) I would just like to hibernate!!! But, alas, I live in the Canadian Prairies and this is just a part of life! So I will bundle up with all my winter gear and to to my mom's this afternoon. I am working on a 1000 piece puzzle and I'm really enjoying it and I'm almost done! I will have to finish before supper as my son and his girlfriend are coming over so there will be about 6 of us all together...I will need to move my puzzle off the kitchen table!! lol

Lately, even during short naps, I have dreams, bad or good or just plain weird, haha. Maybe I'm a dreamer or have vivid imagination? Maybe I'm becoming an Oracle, haha.

I'm still a bit wobby after my workout tonight. I guess I still don't have my stamina or endurance as last time. Maybe it's the weather - we have lots of rainy days or nights and rainy time is always good to cuddle in bed with a good book :D Or maybe I'm starting to become a sloth!

Quiet here. Eating better today for me. I had someone ask me today about me teaching her some self defense. I showed her and gave h e r a few tips and she wants to learn some more! I was kind of honored. I have studied martial arts a long time and just seeing someone else be interested has made me want to train harder at a time when my motivation has been pretty low. Guess I have a lesson to plan!

Check came today but was missing some of my pay. Glad I don't work for them anymore. Not real healthy eating habits today. We ended up going out to fast food since I didn't have time to go to the grocery store and cook. We will be going shopping this weekend and I will be planning some meals tonight in my down time here at work. I will also be studying some karate before bedtime this morning.

TGIF! I can't wait to sleep in tomorrow! I went to dinner and a play tonight with a group of 8 ladies. I ate WAYYYY too much and my fitbit Aria is going to be brutally honest with me tomorrow morning... oh boy... I have been getting my 10000 steps a day all week though so I hope that helps...

Still no tracker or paycheck. They claim the check was mailed. If it is not here by Saturday I will be calling an attorney first thing Monday morning. Just a gut feeling I have about it all. Busy working through the weekend here and trying to stay warm. I am having a hard time getting motivated to exercise and track my food. Baby steps for me.

It's another very cold day in the prairies of Canada!! lol nothing we aren't used to but that doesn't mean we like it! lol My sleep wasn't very sound last night. Not even sure why...oh well, I guess I'll try again tonight!

Jess, hope you pay is waiting for you! and I hope your tracker has surfaced. Have fun at karate. I will just keep warm and do a walking DVD or maybe some wii Zumba. Ben has Taekwondo tonight but it is too cold to walk anywhere. I will just bring a book and read!

Fathin, sorry to hear of all your nightmares! Do you read scary books or watch scary shows on TV before you go to sleep?

Sounds like we all need a bit more sleep! I would just like to hibernate til Spring!! lol

Snakes scare me too! So does lack of sleep,lol s!

Little sleep for me today. Took son to school instead of him taking the bus. Wind chills are below zero here. Cheri-I don't know how you live in Canada!

Plan to do karate practice tonight for fitness. I will also be trying to sleep more. I was supposed to be getting paid for some PRN work today and have not gotten my direct deposit yet. I called and asked if it was paid but the payroll people are not in yet. Keeping my fingers crossed that it was put on a paper check instead. Trying not to stress eat because of this.

After two nights of bad dreams (one was the snake dream), I feel so tired. I hate having nightmares, always made me feel so tired when woke up.

Well, my day off got messed up. I had to stay and work a double last evening so I didn't get home until 7:30 this morning. I got to sleep at 8:30 but only slept until 11:30. The phone woke me and I couldn't go back to sleep. But that is where I'm headed now. The twitch in my eyelids is very bad tonight! lol

Jess, sorry your tracker is MIA. I hope it finds its way back to you.

It is soooo cold here today It feels like -40C with the windchill. I guess it is the season.

Fathin, snakes would scare me, too, living or in dreams!! But Harry Potter is a good guy! lol

Jess, maybe it was those mutant bunnies took your tracker, hehe. Perhaps instead of underneath, maybe you can find the tracker at sides or top of furniture. especially those type of couch that has lots of hidden places.

Last night had a nightmare about a green snake. I dunno why I always have dreams about snakes. If my life in a paranormal fiction, those snakes dreams might mean I'm a weresnake or I have something in common with Harry Potter LOL

Cherie, when you said Jacob and Ben, I somehow thought about Jacob from Twilight and Ben Cumberbatch (the actor), haha. I hope you have break, even if just few minutes. Quality is what counts :D

Did a workout, suppose to do 3 rounds but I only did 1 round because I felt light head during the workout.

I work one more day then I get a few days off...I need a bit of a break! Jacob goes back to Calgary on Monday and Ben goes back to school then, too.

Jess, I didn't get a chance to watch any Twilight this weekend...soon. I hope you find your tracker! I would be lost without my fitbit!

Jess, Hobbit movie on demand? meaning it will be on tv? I've heard about Outlander but haven't seen that in our tv subscription ... yet, hehe. I'm looking forward to Agent Carter (from Marvel) :D Ok, I'm quite a Marvel fan after I get hooked up watching Loki LOL

Today, I did jump rope after quite a while done that. Just 5 minutes and I felt so weak LOL I also learned (again) from my mom on how to prepare Nasi Lemak with Sambal Udang. Nasi Lemak is rice cooked in coconut milk while Sambal Udang is a prawn dish that cooked with chillies, tamarind, shalot, garlic. Nasi Lemak usually served with fried peanuts, fried anchovies, fresh cucumber and egg (boiled or sunny). Going to write all ingredients in my blog so I can refer later. Last time I tried to write in Spark Recipe and I got lost in translating ingredients in English and the measurements, haha.

Fathin- your right it's Jess. I think it's great that you are seeing results already! Keep up the good work! Our newest TV series has been Outlander.

Cheri- I like being stuck with you too! We are going to wait for the Hobbit movie to be on demand. I just reread Twilight and will be reading New Moon next.

How is everyone doing on their goals today?

I have tracked my food and have drank some water already. Most of the time we still measure portion sizes so should be pretty accurate. I have a salad with an orange packed for lunch. I am working on just getting back in the habit of tracking what I eat, adding fruits and veggies, and fitness goals. I am frustrated though. My spark activity tracker is lost in my room somewhere (I believe under the bed) but I can't see it anywhere so I can't track my steps. I work tonight so I'll just have to search this weekend when we plan on heavy cleaning. We have mutant dust bunnies under the couches and bedroom furniture no matter what we do to clean so I should find it then when we move them then.

Hi Cherie, how much is too much popcorn, hehe. And it's good to know I'm stuck with you LOL Those plans and goals sound awesome! For myself, I will start using my pedo next Monday, start with 5K :D

Mich, haven't seen you for a while here, good to see you again :D (Though seen you a lot in FB) Perhaps this year, you can be partner with your mother, together towards fitness awesomeness!

Mataya (I think Jess, right?), good to see you again! I wish you have great year ahead :D

My plan already started on my birthday in last month so I'm happy to see some positive changes to my body when I greet new year, yay! I started with small things like daily 1-min jump (various type) so even when I'm too tired, too busy or simply too lazy to workout, I still have that 1-min. I learned this from a Women's Health book. I also started to manage my sleep better, trying to wake up myself instead of rellying on alarm.

I'm on tv series marathon - True Blood. I love watching Eric Northman; I guess I just graduated from Edward LOL Though I much prefer reading the book series, the tv series has too much of erm, intimate things.

Good morning Twilight fans! Gee, how long has it been since you've watched or read some Twilight?? I think I might watch them this weekend.

Mich, it's great to hear from you! I know the feeling on dropping off the healthy wagon. I need to get back on board too. and this is a great place to start!

Mataya! It's so nice to see a few familiar faces. Yes, it is the time of year where the extra pounds are creeping back on but now it is a new year, a new start. Yay!

Fathin, now you are just stuck with me! lol It's always great to have a group of supporters, and people in the same boat! Alright! Let's get this year started!

My goals are to eat better, and stay consistent with getting my 10000 steps in everyday. I love my fitbit and now I have added a fitbit Aria (the scale) to my arsenal so I'm armed and dangerous to get fit! I also want to be more grateful and happy... that should cover it!

Happy New Year - I'm looking forward to 2015! Made a lot of mistakes regarding my personal health and well being after I took my mom in - over the last 19 months I gained a significant amount of weight back. Now I'm taking my health back and logging in here everyday on SP and starting my journey over. One day at a time, one step at a time, one healthy choice at a time. Just like I did it last time.
