Glad I could help! Here is a link to amazon.com that will show a short video of the 30 day shred. I just finished. It's hard to type. It makes me weak and shaky!

Thanks for the advice. But I forgot to mention that I'm deathly (literally) allergic to seafood. I can't even accompany my friends to a seafood restaurant & just keep them company. The vapors from the plates will get to me.

Also, because of gastric bypass surgery (another notch in my weight-loss unsuccess stories...), I don't absorb much nutrition from food. So I have to take specially formulated vitamin compounds. If I bought vitamins over the counter, I would have to take several handfuls per day. But I'm still trying to meet the goals on my Spark plan. I can't help but think I will absorb "some" nutrition from food. I'm especially worried about calcium & vitamin D because I'm at such high risk for osteoporosis.

I'll start looking at trying to add some of the other veggies & grains you recommended to my daily intake. I'm very fair, so I've been avoiding the sun most of my life. But once I get out of school & get past the closing on my house, I'll try to take a morning walk with shorts & a t-shirt. Maybe that way I'll get some sun on my pale skin.

Thanks again for the advice!
Karine

Psalm34V7 is right about the Vitaman D. That's one that I haven't had trouble with but I have had trouble getting enough calcium. I've tried to eat enough of the right foods to get my daily requirements, but after still continuing to struggle I started taking Women's One a Day Vitamins.

I will however warn you that if you decide to go this route, you MUST take these with food. Taking them before you eat will make you sick because of the iron in them. I still get sometimes if I don't eat enough with it.

Hope this helps!

Hi Karine,

There's a whole bunch of foods that are high in Calcium! Almonds, broccoli, salmon (eaten with the bones), tofu, oats, whey, kelp, avocados.

For Vitamin D, your body will produce it all by itself if you get direct sunlight on your skin, at least 30 minutes a day (before 11am is best). Also, you can supplement vitamin D in your diet by eating more fatty fish species like tuna, salmon and sardines. For supplements you could take fish liver oil for vitamin D.

I hope this helps you a bit. emoticon

Hi friends,
Does anyone have a good suggestion for getting Vitamin D & Calcium into my body? I cannot drink milk and I can only tolerate very, very small amounts of sugar. Every day I seem to fall drastically short on Vitamin D & Calcium. I take supplements, but I really need to find what foods I should be adding into my meals. Appreciate any suggestions you may have.
Thanks!
Karine
