Not doing time on the TD this week as I am off work for the week. I got in a 2.5 mile run yesterday, and I'm hoping to get in a bike ride today.

I was supposed to do the Lost Dutchman Half Marathon today, but I have a really bad cold and just didn't feel like I could manage it. No point making myself worse, either. Instead I'll hope I am feeling better for next weekend's sprint triathlon, the first for 2014.

I did the SW Valley YMCA Reverse triathlon today. Not one of my better performances, but the weather was perfect and it was a fun day.

I did the Surprise, AZ, Reverse Triathlon today. Short event and I was the only one in my new age group, so I got a gold medal.

Yesterday 40 min as I sparked away on the tm, today hard training with a trainer so no tm today, tomorrow tm big time. My husband built me the best desk for my tm, love it and him!

I did the JCC Scottsdale Sprint Triathlon this morning. Beautiful day for it - sunny and warm, with just a slight breeze. I got third in my age group again, which sounds great until you find out there were only three of us in the 55-59 group. Even so, I was very pleased because I improved my times in all three disciplines as compared to the same event last year. I took 15 seconds off my swim, 21 seconds off my bike and an amazing 4:55 off my run time! The run time is the most gratifying for me, because that is the part I always find the hardest.

I did the "First Responders" Sprint Triathlon in Peoria, AZ, this morning. Nice event despite the rain, and I got third in my age group.

Keith, hope all is well as I haven't heard from you for a while. I have some good friends that just moved back to Phoenix as he lost his job here in Calif. and they owned their home in Phoenix outright so they are back home for them. They love Phoenix a big difference from northern California, both are beautiful but distinctly different. Just want to let you know my husband who was so ill will heart failure about 2.5 yrs ago where you helped me so much, so much, I will always be grateful, his heart has gone from 17% to 40% + and after a long time of not knowing if he would live he is outside with me building an outdoor living room. We work differently now, only working 30 to 60 min at a time and then break for 20 min. It takes a lot longer but we never thought he would survive let alone be able to build again. Thank you my friend for being there when I most needed some medical advice. emoticon

Tread 7.5 hours on my treadmill desk this week. Weight still isn't going the right direction. Have to up that time, but my knee is still giving me trouble. The catch 22. Still love to tread though. It feels good. No afternoon slump. Keep on treading.

I did an 8 mile run today, and then later went and watched a bit of the bike portion of the Ironman Arizona. The bike course was not too far from my house, so went there to watch and get some pictures. Congrats to all the athletes doing the race today!

Got in an Olympic distance triathlon spread over the last three days - 1700 m swim, 24 mile bike and 6.2 mile run. Now I just have to put them all together on one day a week from today.

I had planned to do a triathlon this weekend, but I didn't feel ready for the swim. It is an open water 750 m swim, and I have only done a couple of open water swims previously. I decided not to do the triathlon, but I went to the pool at my local YMCA and just started swimming. I wanted to see how much I could do. Now, it is much different swimming in a 25 yd pool instead of a lake or some other open water, but I did 1600 yards with no real difficulty. This has got me thinking I may try for a pool swim Olympic distance triathlon at the end of October. We'll see.

Thought I would drop by and say "Hi". I have been a bit absent from Spark but this is day 13 of staying on program. I am doing a lot of hiking/walking hills doing 4 to 6 miles every am, then swim laps, then breakfast and on with the day. At night if I think I need some more cadio I get on the treadmill. Summer I am mainly outside, using the treadmill more at night. Sounds like you are doing well yourself.
