Uh Oh I'm in trouble! I'm having a fibro day so haven't done much of anything except take my dog to vets for an eye infection. He will be fine but SURPRISE he has to go on a diet. They signed me and him up for a doggie weight watchers program LOL I will try to do the step challenge as often as I can but if I don't report in it's cause I'm probably hurtin. I have learned that if I push myself to hard it gets worse.

I think anyone who logs 10,000 or more is awesome!! There are many days that I fall short of that. If you don't set out to walk that many steps intentionally, you hardly ever make it. Let's go ahead and give it a try again tomorrow. If it's raining, walk around your house. Walk while talking on the phone. Walk in place while doing laundry or doing dishes. Put on some good music and dance the steps away. We can do this!! And I am going to try logging on to the thread Vicki mentioned starting tomorrow. I just don't want too try to keep up with too many threads at once. This one keeps me pretty busy. Well....I'm stopping for tonight. If you beat us all Misty.....good for you. I'll check back in the morning. Tonight I am going to get a good night's sleep! Everyone else try to do the same.

I did 12837. That is good for me considering it was to windy to walk outside. We had sustained winds at 50mph and higher gusts. The dust is so bad my allergies are acting up. We should all be proud of our selves for pushing ourselves. If everyone is up to it we whould keep doing this. It really got me going. Congratulations to everyone for setting goals and making it happen. We are all awesome.

Trip, you will probably get me tomorrow as it is suppose to start raining tonight and thru tomorrow. Darn it!! I post daily to the 10,000 steps thread here on the EE team if you are interested. That should keep you motivated! Having to post daily!

I would not have had quite as many steps but a friend and I were walking in the neighborhood and just about the time we wer spliting up to go home we saw fire trucks going down one of the streets. So We being nosy had to walk over and check it out.

Don't worry I am paying for it. I now am the proud owner of a blood blister on my toe. Hurts like ****!

Well...I knew you'd beat me again, Vicki!! I only managed 13,510 steps. (and I went out and ran around the yard one more time to get to this. You are the champ so far. I see Nora walked 11,000+ steps too! We have done great today! Anyone who walked more than 10,000 steps is a winner. Vicki is the champ though. (That is..unless Tanya or Misty beat you) Misty still has three hours left until 9:00. I think I will throw out this challenge again tomorrow. It sure got everyone moving!! Now I'm going to go rest my tired, aching body for an hour or so right in front of the TV set. It's time to relax. Good work, team!!

Mstwsmom....Way to go, girl!!! You have a victory for today too. (and it can't be easy with twins....I know.....I have twin boys myself and one son three years older. Of course...now they are 27 and 30!!lol) I know exactly the kind of stress the little ones can cause. You did well!!

Chocolatefever.....You must be celebrating big time. I was a middle school science teacher before I retired. How well I remember this time of year. Little do the kids know that the teachers are happier than THEY are that school's out for summer! Didn't they all shut down about a month ago anyway?

Well...I think I was all talk about all the walking I was going to do today. I have pooped out. I don't think my new pedometer is as accurate as my old one either, so tomorrow I am on a mission to find my old friend. So far today I have logged 12,410 steps but I am sure some of you have topped that. Well...tomorrow I am meeting my sister for lunch and shopping at the mall. Maybe I'll do better. At least my eating is under control for today. I did very well, staying just under the low end of my calorie range. This means I can have a nice snack tonight. (But not too late!) I am trying hard not to eat for at least three hours before bedtime. (Tip from Bob Greene...Best Life Diet) I'll be back once more before the night is over to check out how Vicki, Misty, and Tanya did with their walking.

Whoo hoo to not giving in to kids whining!

My niece and nephew know not to whine at me. If I've said no, that is the end of it. Sometimes they slip up and think I'm going to give in, but then they realize I can outstubborn them! lol

I have done well today despite having a fight with my husband. I actually didn't even want to eat today-in a good way. My coworkers and I walked twice today during breaks. Now comes the hard part-evening! Way to go MNTWINS mom! Shopping with the wee ones is always an adventure... emoticon

Hi, I've moved over here with y'all. Today I was at Target after the health club with my three kids (5,3 and 3) and they were all whining for something to eat. I almost bought them lunch in the "cafe" but I resisted. I would've been stressed out from the whining and as a result, would've eaten their leftovers. We came home instead. YEAH!! I ended up eating a 350 calorie lunch. How is everyone else doing??

Tanya...glad you are joining us walking today. I'll see you at 9:00. (that may be a different time zone, but it will still be 9:00 YOUR time!! I am already behind everyone because I had to go to the store and buy a new pedometer. But at least this will get me walking!

Charlenedhondt...I don't think there is a place that you can log in your actual steps. You have to put it under how many miles you walked under MY FITNESS goals. That isn't always accurate. I just know that is is healthy if we walk 10,000 steps a day. So I challenged people to try to do that with me today. So get walking!!

Sedland...I am so prouc of you for resisting that popcorn. Actually...you can HAVE the popcorn. It's the butter that kills you. But I put it on there anyway...I just measure how much I use. Popcorn is really a pretty filling treat.

By the way...I am only a co-leader of this team and only responsible for THIS thread. Patriciaak is the team leader and others have picked up the other threads. Thanks to all of you for your encouragement, and I'll try to be here for all of you.

CDBDbody...What do you mean your progress sucks??? Why, you have lost 17 pounds already. So what if you are currently on a plateau....keep at it and you will start losing again.

Gettingthere....Was it a boy or a girl? We'll try to help you get that post-pregnancy weight off! Welcome back!!

Teejay...I wish there was a "delete" button for pounds!!! lol

Amber...you are so right. Sometimes when people reach plateaus, it helps to increase the calorie level for a couple of days (IE:eat MORE). It does seem to shock the body once you start reducing calories again.

I am delighted to say that when I went to buy my new pedometer today I was tempted to stop off at McDonald's for a sandwich. Now I had planned to order a grilled chicken and a glass of water, but instead I took the quickest route home and had a Weight Watchers smooth and creamy. My willpower was stronger than my desire for food this afternoon. Hooray!!!!

Vicki, it's certainly okay to go over a little bit one day! 200 calories isn't even that much!

During the holidays I probably ate close to 3,000 calories. I actually wasn't even meaning to. But the scale didn't punish me, and my metabolism went crazy! I lost a ton of weight after both Thanksgiving and Christmas because I had shocked my body.

I say...bring on the food! (ok, but this year I'm aiming for 2,000 on the holiday, lol) Plus...eating more means I get to exercise more! Whoo hoo! =)

Today is a really nice day in Indiana! But later tonight and tommorow is is suppose to rain so this Steppin' challenge came at a great time!

We should do this at least once a week!

Do you realize there is a thread here on the EE Team for the 10,000 steps. I post to that daily. Maybe we could get started posting there daily but I am up to this challenge any day that it is not raining!

I am new, but not new to this. I have been a member off and on since '06, but haven't been actively involved at all. I got pregnant, so quit for a while, but I'm back and raring to go! It's interesting to read everything you all have to say, and it helps me stay determined. Thanks

Good morning. I didn't get up to exercise either because my oldest, a whole 5 years old, didn't go to bed until 11:30. It is my goal to be getting up early to exercise so I hope we can get the child to sleep. He's a notorious night owl just like his mom and dad. But I am so proud of myself, I did not snack at all last night! I really, really wanted some hot buttery popcorn but managed to keep myself busy and just never got around to making it. And, that was just fine. The craving passed and I was just fine without eating that popcorn.

Good morning. Things are good here. I started weating a pedometer everyday. So far I have hit 10000 steps. On Sunday I hit 20000. I couldn't believe it. It didn't seem like i did alot of walking, but we did go to the mallso I gues that is what did it. If you guys don't mind I will join in on the 10000 steps. I will try to rember to get back on at 9:00.

Vicki....Yikes!! I can't find my pedometer. I will probably use up at least 1000 steps looking for it, and another 1000 if I have to go to the store and buy another one. But I am up for the challenge anyway. It must be beautiful in Indiana today too. So grab those walkin' shoes lady, and I'll meet you here at around 9:00 tonight to check out our steps logged. Anyone else up for the challenge? Let's see how many steps we can log before 9:00 tonight. (and if I don't get off this computer right now....I will be the "Biggest Loser!" Time to start hoofin' it!!!

Trip, You are on! So start moving those feet!

I was over in range yesterday by 200 claories but I am not feeling guilty because it is a once a year luncheon for Sales awards with Avon. We had coffee, juice, pop water and cookies in the morning. I only had juice! Then the lunch was a pork tenderloin with a honey cinnamon glaze (it's did not sound to good to me but it was!), mashed potatoes, gravy and green beans. For desert they had a parfait layed with banana pudding, a tiny brownie, chocolate mousse, & whipped cream. It was wonderful! Then the divisional manager had us up dion the Chicken Dance, the Locomotion and some line dancing! He said it was to wake us up after a good meal. It worked. Nobody felt like napping through the the rest of the meeting and awards!

I am looking for ward to doing it again next year! Will I be over in calories then..probably! But it's only once a year so what the he##!

Amber..I am so glad you found us. You are a valuable team member and you inspire lots of us. Yes, it is kind of nice to start fresh with a new thread. I hope everyone finds us and switches over.

Twinglesmom...I taught school for 35 years until 3 years ago when I retired. (yes...elementary) After that I subbed about 6 times. It didn't take me long to ask, "Why am I doing this?" At first I missed the kids a lot, so it gave me some satisfaction, but that sure didn't last. Subbing is a lot harder than most people think, and I admire you for doing so. (especially at this time of year, when the kids are just crazy!!) Hope you have a good day.

It's gorgeous here again today! I will definitely get my exercising accomplished. Anyone care to challenge me to see how many steps you can log for today?

Trip - Congrats on being our new leader! :) Just wanted to check in this morning before leaving for work again.

Didn't get up to exercise this morning before work. Didn't get to bed until midnight, and got up at 5am. Couldn't get up earlier. I have to sub at the elementary school today which means I have to get there an hour earlier. Just too early for me! :)

OK, OK, so we all make mistakes! Quit laughing at me. I found where the rest of the posts from today went. If you look at the other topics listed, a little way down you will see Emotional team discussion forum listed with Crotty's name beside it. That is where the rest of today's posts went. I should have left things the way they were. But this IS the right place to continue posting as you have been doing. Once again...I hope you will all forgive me for my stupidity!!

Oh my goodness!! I have just made a fatal error. I have agreed to lead this thread because Crotty is no longer our fearless leader. Patriciaak is the overall leader for this team and many of us have stepped forward to pick up different topics. I am supposed to be the leader for general team discussion. I tried to remove Crotty's name and replace it with my own and it erased all of the previous posts for today. (and I don't know how to get them back.) I am sooooo sorry!! Are you sure that I should be doing this??? Anyway... this is the message that was left after my name was added as new leader.
