The best time to look for a job is when you have a job. Then it is your call, your choice, you deciding if you want THEM. Too bad it wasted your time and look at what some people have to put up with. That was an unhappy place - it means a lot if the people seem happy.

I am not losing this fat - I am removing it for good.

Not a disaster! You got some interviewing experience so next time you won't be quite so nervous. Plus you can look back and know that things weren't rough because of you, it was them. And since you have a job, no probs.

And you can now write the book on what NOT to do if you are trying to hire someone. It seems like they missed all the bases. I think that because the economy is terrible they are thinking that they can get away with anything. Not so you just proved it.

I am also looking for work and I believe that it is going to get better and shortly.

Even though you thought it was a disaster, it's still good that you went in for the interview! Now you know that you can do interviews and that particular company just wasn't going to be a good job for you. You didn't lose out, in my opinion. You now have experience in dealing with a sucky interview and should (but hopefully not!) it ever happen again, you know how to deal with it. Oh and I say you have good luck. What if the interview had gone great, you were hired and THEN all these things about the different offices and such were brought down on you?! Then what? So I say it's good luck you found this before you were hired and quit your current job! Good for you that you'll keep trying too!!

Hi!!!
Well, the interview was a disaster - not because of me.
I went in was greeted by a very nasty receptionist, she said "what procedure are you here for?" (no hi or friendly face) I said "no procedures, I'm here for an interview with Debbie C."
"OH, I'll tell her you're here" which she NEVER did. Debbie came out looking for me 10 min later and past my interview time - unbelievable..
Anyway, interview was held in non private LUNCHROOM and she never asked anything about me - plus she said "OH did I tell you this is Tuesday and Thursday in AVON (not town we were in) and it's 8-5, plus Wednesday at the hospital 7-4 (which is in town) and sometimes it's so busy you don't even get lunch" - Advancement opportunity - not really - $12 and hour.
86 that idea. Plus this job was in a "new" location that is very boring since it is new there isn't any customer base there yet...it'd be ME and one other person...for freaking 9 hours a day!!! I don't think so... I MIGHT have considered the paycut IF it was in town and better hours. GEEZ, my luck, IF I didn't have BAD LUCK I wouldn't have any!!!!
Today, where I work doesn't look so bad. BUT I'll keep trying.

You will be fine. Stop doubting yourself and your skills. You have them and the education to back it up. Ask questions back...go in there loaded with your own interview questions and take back some of the power...if they aren't a fit for you, then you will at least walk out of there knowing it and the experience of the interview process is just that, more experience.

You can do this...whats the worst that can happen? They say "No". Big deal. Don't give it anymore power than it actually deserves.

emoticon Linda, change can be scary. I don't like to much change either; but this new job could be great for you. Sometimes a little bit of change helps us not to be so bored and if this is an opportunity to make more money and maybe move up in position.. go for it. Keep the interview, go in and show them how great at that job you would be. Good Luck and just like Bre said everything will be fine!!

hang in there, you can get through this. I believe in you. Believe in you.
The best advice I ever received about interviews was when I got this job, never tell them your salary requiements, tell them it is negotiable. This way you don't sell yourself short nor do you go over the top and scare them off. The interview I had for this job was the first time I had used this tactic and after I said negotiable, they then asked how much I was making at my last job and then the next day they offered me the job starting at the salary I had just came from. good luck, I'llkeep my fingers crossed.

YOu can DO this. Interviews can be so scary but just go in and play the part of the confidant person who knows she is GETTING this job! If all else fails, in a few hours the interview will be over and you will have gotten through it, and you can bask in the fact that you got through it!

A little tip--I always rehearse before an interview, like an actress reciting my lines. I know at least some of the questions they will probably ask (tell me about yourself, your weakness, strength, why should we hire you) and then when I am at the interview my brain can go on autopilot because I don't have to first think of what to say. And it calms me down a bit because it gives me something to actively do leading up to the interview so I don't drive myself nuts.

Good luck!! Keep us posted!

Take a deep breath, relax and go on the interview. Listen to what they have to say and offer you.
Then you decide if you want to make the change.
You took a challenge ad joined SP and look how good you are doing. Sometimes we need to take that leap of faith.
All the best to you no matter what you decide.
Always remember You are a Champion here and now!!!

I understand. Change really can be scary. But oftentimes, change is for the best. Try not to stress yourself out about the change. Especially not before you get the job. Stress wreaks havoc, so try to take a deep breath and just take it one step at a time.

Depression is anger without the motivation.

I think depression runs rampant in society today because we are all so obsessed with making a living instead of living our lives.

Live your dreams, it's not as hard as it may seem...On your hopes you must lean...From your fears you have to wean yourself.

Hello -
Every fiber of my being wants to call the whole thing off...BUT I have a job interview today and well, this MIGHT be the change I so desperately need.
I'm scared - woe is me - HELP...I feel like I don't know what I'm doing...EEEEKKKKK...

I've worked as a Manufacturing office secretary and order clerk for 22 years - a couple of years ago I went to medical school but decided I didn't want to get too close to that...Then I went back to my old job as order entry clerk/customer service rep....AND NOW this job pops up....Medical Receptionist....It COULD have a future...it might not be enough money...It MIGHT be a bright new beginning....I believe I AM qualified with my medical background...but I'm so scared....Scared of change.
