I had a hard time sleeping last night because my lower back was aching, so when I got up from bed I did the sitting stretches from Spark. They work well.

2019 is off to a very challenging start for me! I am trying to cope by listing the big challenges, in hopes of ticking off ones I successfully meet. My list now: quitting cable tv and dealing with tv withdrawal, buying an affordable phone as mine seems to be malfunctioning after only two years, supporting my husband as he deals with a debilitating condition, and paying for mounting medical costs. I have no credit card or other debt and would like to keep it that way. Just thinking about the challenges makes me want to run and eat a cake or something; must restrain!

In a bit of a quandary over car repairs. My car is old but I expected to keep it for another couple of years, yet things are going wrong, Do I junk it and move on? Dunno.

Doing my quarterly regeneration eating plan. It's sometimes hard but I tend to keep to it no matter what because it's not about weight loss. If I don't keep to it, I can't get the benefits. (Unlike how we can finagle food and still sometimes do okay. ) So, even though I'm feeling a bit stressed over avoiding housekeeping, there is no chance I will succumb to any non-plan food.

They can be hard on the temptations, but can learn to be able to walk past many bad treats and make decent choices. It isn't bad to try a treat, but not to lose all overboard. Merry Christmas!

Well, I said my goodbyes at work yesterday. Harder than I thought it would be. I won't miss the conflicts with kids and parents, but I had a congenial relationship with most of the staff. I am not married and I don't have children nor even a lot of friends. There is actually no one in my personal life that I see and talk to on a regular basis. It's all by phone/text. I'm going to have some real work to do on that front this year. But I'm pretty much eating within my guidelines.

It seems I have some kind of conflict everyday with people. I have only a few days left with students and yet I chose to get on two girls for little stuff. (Both of them failing the class.) One of them pretty much just blew me off. It's interesting because I share the class with another teacher. I know he is just as disgusted with them, but they don't know it. In fact, he has given up on them and won't try to direct them at all. He figures just let them sink. Their parents have been able to see their failing grades the whole semester and have never been in touch with either of us.

But I ate my meals pretty much as planned and am really glad I'm going to bed a bit later not feeling stuffed.

Just wanting to avoid the discomfort was enough to help me make do with getting through the hours.

I had a tearful conversation on the phone with my sister this morning. I think some good things will come of it. No real desire to eat over it.

Back to my book. (I'm trying to spend more time doing things that have nothing to do with thinking about eating or not eating.)

It took some time for me to find anything that could help keep me from food when life hit me and I wanted to adjust in anyway possible and food was easy. I finally have worked myself into little treats and snacks and less binging and more moving and reading instead for now. It takes time, but you can find other ways to help into better ways to deal with life.

Honestly, I've never found anything that was as easy or effective as food for comfort. It just turns out that not only is it very short-lived, but the discomfort later is usually not worth it.

I had some really sad dreams/nightmares last night, so my whole day was hard. I came home from work and cried. Then decided to eat whatever I want to make myself feel better. I've been so good for almost 3 months.

Luckily, I didn't go completely crazy with food like I thought I would, but did eat over my carb goal. Calories weren't too bad. Part of me wanting to just let myself eat what I want for the next couple days but I'm worried I won't start back up again. So I decided to track everything I ate this afternoon and just start back on my plan again.

Food does tend to comfort me so it's hard to find other things for comfort that work as well.

Good luck to everyone this week. I know it can be a challenging week for everyone.

Good day all...unfortunately I plunged into a couple bags of Nachos and cheese...stress eating at it's finest...now time to pay the piper...scale says I gained 3 lbs... I know for a fact Nachos are my weakness...I can't just have one...I wish I wasn't so weak...
