Added benefit of doing the brain squats is that my squat position is improving!

I've also started subscribing to some regular supplements, which has resulted in tripling the amount of water I drink in the morning!

I've been doing well with the super brain squats - in fact, I don't think I've missed day because it piggy-backs really well with making coffee. Yes, I put the kettle on........ and do my squats.

For February I'm adding in the super-brain squats in the morning as my 'movement'

I have certain habits locked in now:

morning: bathe eyes, scrape tongue, drink water, face massage, sometimes abhyanga
evening: sometimes dry brushing, massage feet, earlier lighter dinner, get to bed early

Self care Activities:
The self care activities that have become routine are early waking, drinking water first thing, oil pulling, tongue scraping and Abhyanga.

For February, I will be continuing to working on gentle yoga, breath work, and meditation. I will be adding in dry brushing.

My intention for the season is to rest and restore. My intention for February is to create order and to continue working to automate my self care routines.

My progress:

emoticon Our February challenge. emoticon As we move closer to the end of winter, we will continue to build and solidify our Dinacharya. You can choose to add new things to your self-care routine or continue on with what you started last month.

If you are new to our little challenge, emoticon please just jump in where you are! If you have questions, just ask. If you have resources to share please do that, too!

..........................................
.

Ayurveda is all about timing and cycles and seasons. Ayurveda begins with self care. So that is where we will begin, with dinacharya . What is dinacharya?

From Wikipedia:
"Dinacharya (Sanskrit:"daily-routine") is a concept in Ayurvedic medicine that looks at the cycles of nature and bases daily activities around these cycles. Ayurveda contends that routines help establish balance and that understanding daily cycles are useful for promoting health."

Daily routine. We are going to build our daily routines. Our dinacharya. Our challenge for the month of December is to continue building and automating our routines. You can choose to add one or two more activities or just keep working on what you are doing. We will continue to build and add on to our routines, at our own speed. Below you will find articles that describe dinacharya and what is included.

***(Some of the articles below involve sales pitches for classes or products. I am never going to tell you that you should buy this or that. There is good information in these articles but you DO NOT have to buy anything to do this challenge. There is so much information available in books, (that you can borrow from the library) and from reputable online sources, there is no need to purchase anything.)***
