Dinacharya - March emoticon

Self care Activities:
Breath body practices - daily exercise including yoga
Meditation - Kirtan Kriya
Gratitude practice
Self massage - nightly foot massage

My intention for March is to renew my focus on self care. emoticon

My progress:
*Earlier, lighter dinner - I am done eating at 6:30 but I am still working on supper being the lightest meal of the day.
*Early to bed (lights out by 10) - done
*Morning - 16 oz of water, tongue scraping, oil pull - done
*Eat more plants - done (I was happily surprised with my recording of the plants I eat. I started a new sheet to record how often I am eating specific plants)
*Eating seasonally - still working on it, I am definitely more conscious of what is in season but not limiting still eating some things that are not in season in Western NY state.
*Relationships - DH is more supportive now that I am explaining the why of the changes I am making.
*Self massage - with oil before a shower - done; adding in nightly foot massage.

emoticon Our March challenge. emoticon
As we move closer to spring, we continue to build and solidify our Dinacharya. You can choose to add new things to your self-care routine or continue on with what you started last month.

If you are new to our little challenge, emoticon please just jump in where you are! If you have questions, just ask. If you have resources to share please do that, too!

..........................................
.

Ayurveda is all about timing and cycles and seasons. Ayurveda begins with self care. So that is where we will begin, with dinacharya . What is dinacharya?

From Wikipedia:
"Dinacharya (Sanskrit:"daily-routine") is a concept in Ayurvedic medicine that looks at the cycles of nature and bases daily activities around these cycles. Ayurveda contends that routines help establish balance and that understanding daily cycles are useful for promoting health."

Daily routine. We are going to build our daily routines. Our dinacharya. Our challenge for the month of March is to continue building and automating our routines. You can choose to add one or two more activities or just keep working on what you are doing. We will continue to build and add on to our routines, at our own speed. Below you will find articles that describe dinacharya and what is included.

***(Some of the articles below involve sales pitches for classes or products. I am never going to tell you that you should buy this or that. There is good information in these articles but you DO NOT have to buy anything to do this challenge. There is so much information available in books, (that you can borrow from the library) and from reputable online sources, there is no need to purchase anything.)***
