Gill - Do you have any videos you can share about foam rolling? How or why did you choose to use the sea buckthorn oil? I am not familiar with that one.

Today I refreshed my supplies with better quality rose water, and an oil for abyanga instead of lotion.

I don't want to add anything new this month - I'm trying to eat more low-carb, and extending my overnight fast for up to 15 or 16 hrs most days - the 'earlier, lighter, dinner' is now sometimes 4pm. I've got past the grief of not being able to cook an evening meal.

Wake early - easier now it's light early - usually about 5am.

Drink water - this is one I'm working hard on!

Tongue scraping - yup - I might invest in a stainless steel scraper (I have a plastic one)

Abhyanga - I massage my limbs with moisturiser several times a week, and skin brush too. I do a short food massage at bed-time

Exercise - yes - I've been doing a regular squatting routine in the morning - often adding on some hip/leg exercises

Eat more plants - easy

Eat seasonally - yup

Allow your digestion to rest between meals…no snacking - yup

Make your midday meal your largest main meal - yup

Pranayama - I have a breathing stress-buster reminder on my Garmin fitness tracker

Meals at regular times - yes

Earlier, lighter dinner (supper) - yes

Bed by 10pm - yes, except when I don't finish work until 10pm - but then I go straight to bed when I get home

emoticon emoticon Our April challenge. emoticon emoticon
As we move into spring, we continue to build and solidify our Dinacharya. You can choose to add new things to your self-care routine or continue on with what you started last month.

If you are new to our little challenge, emoticon please just jump in where you are! If you have questions, just ask. If you have resources to share please do that, too!

..........................................
.

Ayurveda is all about timing and cycles and seasons. Ayurveda begins with self care. So that is where we will begin, with dinacharya . What is dinacharya?

From Wikipedia:
"Dinacharya (Sanskrit:"daily-routine") is a concept in Ayurvedic medicine that looks at the cycles of nature and bases daily activities around these cycles. Ayurveda contends that routines help establish balance and that understanding daily cycles are useful for promoting health."

Daily routine. We are going to build our daily routines. Our dinacharya. Our challenge for the month of March is to continue building and automating our routines. You can choose to add one or two more activities or just keep working on what you are doing. We will continue to build and add on to our routines, at our own speed. Below you will find articles that describe dinacharya and what is included.

***(Some of the articles below involve sales pitches for classes or products. I am never going to tell you that you should buy this or that. There is good information in these articles but you DO NOT have to buy anything to do this challenge. There is so much information available in books, (that you can borrow from the library) and from reputable online sources, there is no need to purchase anything.)***
