Sorry I missed checking in yesterday. It was a busy day and I was not at all compliant. I am getting serious today. I told DH I am on Cycle 1 and I need help to stick to it. He said he would help be my food police and join me on some of the meals. He will eat I do, but will add some carbs to what I make (like rice or potato).

I am good to talk about Covid-19. It's such a big part of our lives and is impacting absolutely every aspect.

I went to the Dr yesterday for results. I think he should have given me over the phone because I am fine. The polyp I had removed was benign. This wasn't my regular doctor, I think he would have been more worried about having me out when it's not necessary. But that's done.

So, having been out of the house I got a coffee and a breakfast sandwich at a drive thru. Then in the evening I went with DH for groceries. We went at dinner time, and it was really quiet. We got in and out quickly. We took some groceries to his parent's place (at the farm). We had Moe with us, so he was happy to run around at the farm for 15 minutes. Then since it's was so late, shopping is still a very slow process with social distancing and the aisles only being one way, we picked up burgers at a drive thru. So a very bad day for being out and eating out. BUT- now we won't be going out for at least a week. And that will only be because DH's parents will need groceries again. They don't quite get what a hassle it is.

I have a full rest of the week with work. I haven't been let go yet...

Today I am totally on track so far! Gotta keep it that way for the rest of the day. I am having tuna for supper very soon, and that usually fills me up. We still have our cucumber tomato salad too. I got more cucumbers and tomatoes in the organic delivery so as soon as this salad is gone I will make another bowl of it.

I slept later than usual and feel quite well rested. An 82 year old friend from church called me today. She is a retired nurse and so very sweet. Of course we talked about the importance of staying safe at home. It was really good to talk with her. Our church family is really missing each other, but we all recognize the importance of staying in for now.

Stay well friends!

Diane - I look forward to interacting with you and Shari here. I am pleased that we discuss issues related to the virus. For me it provides a welcome perspective since the 3 of us represent different locations. I find it interesting to learn how things are going elsewhere from the first-hand perspective you and Shari provide. I hope you get most of the items on your grocery order. I understand the desire to shop in person but I think it worth heeding the warnings and staying safe at home. I have had some occasional errors with my ShopRite from home orders, but I find the benefits of such convenience surpasses my frustration with their mistakes.

Shari - Did your DH do well on the shopping trip? Have you ever used Chewy.com for dog food? I have been using it for some time. Even though my dog is much smaller than yours and I buy small bags of dog food, I love that it comes right to our door. I usually buy several smalls bags at one time (enough to get the free shipping) because the smaller bags are easier for me to handle. Good luck with selling your house. Your one day at a time approach sounds wise to me.

I was able to get masks for myself, DS, and my friend Sandi. A local woman has been making and selling them for $5. She met me in the parking lot of our post office this afternoon to give them to me. She is a young woman and very sweet. The masks seem well made. I am happy to have them, though I doubt that I will be in a public setting any time soon. They will also be useful should I need to go to the door for a delivery, etc.

The word going around here is that we all should stay at home for the next 2 weeks and not even grocery shop if possible. That is what DS and I plan to do today. The days go by quickly for me. I can always find something to keep me busy and stimulated. I started reading a new book that came today called the Mind of Christ, written by an Orthodox Christian monk. I heard him speak in a podcast and was motivated to follow up to learn more about what he said.

I indulged in some Late July brand mild green mojo multigrain tortilla chips today. They are favorites of mine, and I enjoyed them. I logged them and got back on track for supper this evening. I am working hard on avoiding the "all or nothing" mentality. So I was pleased that after indulging in the chips I had salmon and salad for supper and didn't stray for the rest of today.

Our organic delivery arrives tomorrow. I saw on their website that they are not currently accepting new customers. I am so glad that we have been with them for quite a few years now. They are a small company and apparently are doing well.

I ordered groceries yesterday and first pickup is next Friday. Walmart had almost nothing on my list so I made the order from the local Frys store. It will be interesting what is actually filled on my order! I would love to be able to just dash in and get a few items but not possible now. So I rely on some stranger (last two order pickers were teenagers) to pick out my groceries. So,yes, there were some errors (wrong items) like full sugar and fat yogurt when I ordered the light and fit version, sigh. They obviously did not know the difference. And, if I could go in, I could think of substitutes for items but am reluctant to just give total control over all subs....no use getting stuff we wonít use or eat.

Some big box stores here are saying one person, one cart, no children under 16 and limiting number of people in the store at one time....But grocery stores have not announced that yet. Local news today mentioned briefly not going to grocery store more than once per week and not using it as outing, send one family member....so, yes, Shari, I applaud your will power to stay home. DH is only one who went to Sams about 10 days ago....and I would have liked to be there to select items but again am giving up that control. This feeling that we have no control over virus except staying home is frustrating!!

Shari....Good luck with sale of your home in these trying times!! Life does march on and people do have to move for variety of reasons and things like that should go back to normal after we go back to work etc. Back in MN my daughter and family are moving end of the week to new home.

Paula....thanks for keeping this thread going. I canít seem to diet right now but I am being somewhat on track when I am able. You continue to keep me motivated!!

About posting?? Itís good to visit with you and Shari here. If you want me not to talk Covid 19 topics here please just let me know. Shopping for food and daily life is sooo effected by the virus now I am hard pressed to ignore it in my posts...but I could if you both prefer not to hear from me on this topic please say the word and I can be quiet about it. Until later, take care, stay safe and healthy!

I am not looking forward to our next grocery run. I hope we don't have too much of a wait to get the couple of items that we need. We will need milk and dog food in the next couple of day. I will probably send DH since those are heavy items. We both shouldn't go, but I would really love to go just to get out. But I won't!

Bad day of eating yesterday. Ready to do better today. Going to try Day 2 once again.

DH goes back to work today. Our house is listed. But things look so different now. Just have to take one moment at a time.

Diane - My Shoprite website has gotten so busy that now there is a waiting line online to get to the actual shopping part of the website. When I looked at it today, just out of curiosity, the wait time was one hour. I am glad I got groceries yesterday. I am thinking it would be nearly impossible to get a pick up time slot now. Fortunately our organic delivery continues and seems to have a good supply of food choices (produce, pantry items, dairy, meats, etc.). But they don't carry paper products, cleaning products etc.

Shari - Getting through C1D1 is great. Nice to see that loss. More to follow! It's good that you have the option of going to the farm. That sounds like a nice escape. I, too, worry about the businesses who are suffering. I wonder how quickly folks will return to those remaining businesses when things ease up.

I stayed within my ranges today but certainly could have made better choices this evening. I made a large bowl of my favorite cucumber tomato salad, which filled me up at supper, but I craved something sweet a little while ago and indulged in about 200 calories of ice cream. I hope that desire is now a thing of the past. I enjoyed it, but looking back, of course I feel it wasn't worth it.

I am playing around with grocery order online today...seeing what is available from my two best sources...then will order from one place for pick later this week. Each have $35 min order so it canít be too small an order. Ten days ago we stopped actually going inside any buildings for anything, even groceries at Sams. Glad we have not been inside lately as the possible viral load inside is so much heavier than outside, even wearing a mask, so I am too cautious to do it...unless we start not being able to get milk, eggs, etc on pickup orders.

They strongly advise here in AZ to stay out of elevators and public restrooms...any areas that are small or contain more people overall, as virus stays in air for longer periods and travels further than previously thought. And, on TV here are really stressing wearing scarf or homemade cotton mask whenever outside our homes. Looks like prediction of our peak is April 27th so we are inching towards more possible exposure every day as we get closer to our peak.

Yes, I am looking forward to when this is over. In the meantime I am trying to maintain my current weight. Also working hard at staying healthy by staying home. Wishing everyone a safe week ahead and continued good health!!

C1D1 went very well. No clue why or how I did it. I am even down a pound overnight. I know it's water weight as I upped my water game yesterday too. But I will take it. I will give day 2 a shot.

I am starting to miss regular life. We took Moe out to the farm yesterday for some exercise. We drive through part of the main street to get there and it is so sad to see so many businesses closed up. I was feeling a bit down after that.

I haven't tried ordering groceries yet. DH has been going to the store. We should be good for a few more days and then we will need to make a trip to Costco for milk, eggs and dog food. I think I will need that outing. After being isolated for so long it will be nice to be inside a store for a little bit. There are a lot of protocols once you get to the parking lot, but I guess it is what it is. I am praying for a treatment and a vaccine. That seems like the only thing that will shorten our social distancing reality. I will see about ordering online for our grocery trip after that.

Diane - Do you miss having all your guests? I have been observing that one of the benefits of the stay-at-home order is that I don't have to do my hair and makeup everyday because I don't have to be concerned about having visitors! I, too, have been watching the virus updates from the President. I have always been a news junkie but am even more so now, but I don't let it get to me or bring me down much.

Shari - Hope C1D1 went well for you. Nice that you see working from home as a benefit to your weight loss plan. Being home most of the time for me sometimes helps and other times (obviously) not-so-much!

I had a mediocre day today. My evening temptations continue and didn't do as well tonight as I had hoped. My accountant picked up my tax info today. He called first, and I just left the folder of info outside on our ramp for him. Glad to have the stuff in his hands and out of mine! I did our ShopRite pick up today and got most but not all of the items in my order. They usually call if they are out of an item and ask about substituting a similar item, but they didn't do that today. Maybe they are just too busy. I am pleased with what I got, so no complaints. I think I probably won't have to do a ShopRite order next week.

Hoping everyone is having a good weekend. Very quiet here. My weight loss was short lived too, lol! One day at a time...just hoping not to gain. No chocolate today!! Busy with cleaning and organizing projects, but watching TV updates on virus from President right now. Prayers for all of us!

My weight loss was short lived. I pulled out the eating plan for Cycle 1 Day 1 and I am planning to stick to it today. I thought I ate well yesterday, but I didn't record so who really knows. I really really need to do that every day and for every meal. I have no excuse not to do it since I am working from home. So today I will give it a better shot. Starting with hot water and lemon.

So glad for the weekend and not having to sit all day. I plan to work out again today despite being sore.

Congrats on your YouTube workout and on our weight loss! Persistence pays off!

I am doing well today. I was up and about a bit earlier than usual today and am enjoying having some extra time. The pharmacy delivered my medications today so I am good for another month. That is a feeling of relief for me. I was stressing a bit about the contact between me and the delivery person, a new person this time. But it all worked out fine. She and I stayed 2 arms lengths apart so I am ok now. I found out about a woman who lives not far from here who is making and selling masks. Since I cannot find the 2 masks I have somewhere, I contacted her and will pick up the masks on Monday. I also got 2 for my friend Alice and her husband and will mail them to her.

My eating is still good. I am having salmon and asparagus for supper. I think I will also make a version of my cucumber and tomato salad. That will keep us well satisfied for quite a few days. Tomorrow is my ShopRite from home pick up. I think this will be my last order for a while because we should be pretty well stocked after this order.

Happy Weekend!

So glad to have made it to another Friday. I am looking forward to not having to sit in front of my computer to work all day. Less interruptions when working from home and that equals way more screen time. Plus all of our meetings are online.

I worked out yesterday with an online with YouTube. Already sore lol. I am seeing some progress in weight loss. But it is super slow and I was super high on the scale to start with. I can hardly wait to see some lower numbers.

Diane - I usually have Hershey's miniatures on hand for DS and have been known to indulge a bit myself. Your little Taffy sounds like such a sweetie. Our first family dog was a cocker named Buddy when I was a small child. We lived in an apartment at the time and Buddy ended up living with my grandparents who had a house with nice property. After Buddy we got a chihuahua, and I have had chihuahuas every since.

Shari - I agree with you that stuffed peppers are similar to stuffed cabbage. I like both. Nice that you were able to meet online with your youth group girls. I am sure it meant a lot to them. Your weight loss will come. You are moving in the right direction.

I did well today and soon might be brave enough to step on the scale. I again logged everything I ate and am high on carbs but also high on protein and fiber. Yet I am within the calorie range so I am not too stressed about it. I changed my cardiologist appointment to early June. That adds further motivation for me to be compliant. I would like to see a good number on his scale by then.

I was quite busy with my workload yesterday. I worked over my hours again. Hoping to get them back today and tomorrow. I just had some time sensitive work to get done. Hoping that's not the case for the next two days.

I made stuffed peppers for the first time. They were really good. Remind me of cabbage rolls, just replacing the cabbage with peppers. I would make them again.

The girls that I lead in youth met online with me yesterday. They are bored and stressed about school. They are finding it hard to do all of their learning online. I am really hoping this virus gets a cure, vaccination and we can start to get out again. The impact is so vast!

In the meantime, I struggle to lose weight, but I am stepping up my efforts very slowly. I know I can do it.

Just a quick check in.
Shari...wishing your DH all the best with online teaching! Is a challenge for sure! Sorry your coworker was laid off but glad it was voluntary as that perhaps will mean others, like you, who want to keep working will be allowed to do so! Saying my prayers that you keep employed!

Paula, Sorry you had a painful day! So glad you have your dog for comfort when you arenít feeling well! I miss our little Taffy who has been gone so many years now. She was a butterscotch cocker spaniel. She would be a good little cuddlier in these stressful times. My sister (who lives alone and has anxiety issues) really appreciates her cat and her new rescue dog.

I had some Hershey bar pieces again as dessert after lunch. I keep thinking I will get over wanting that sweet treat but for now allow a little each day. None later in day and never too much because of Caffeine and my heart issues. If I get any reaction that will be the end of that!

I smiled as I read about Moe. Our dogs sure do enhance our lives! Our guy is a big veggie eater, some raw, some cooked. He loves roasted carrots and also the leaves/stalk (peeled off) of fresh broccoli. But he absolutely refuses mushrooms. My theory is that he instinctively knows mushrooms are fungi and therefore avoids them. Glad you are enjoying healthy snacks. I think for me it makes a difference to have easy access to them and to have them visible, like keeping the halos on the kitchen counter and not in the fridge.

Our friend who lives in your area posted on FB this morning about shopping at a store called Save On. She said they were well supplied with just about everything and was very pleased with her shopping trip.

Glad you are still employed! Good luck to your DH with the online teaching. I imagine that is a big adjustment for most teachers.

I am having a really good day today. Yesterday I had a lot of pain, but not so much today. So I was able to accomplish a good amount (for me) of housework that I have been avoiding. I am on track so far too. The coming evening will be a bit of a challenge. DS and I have been participating in the nightly live stream services from the church in Ohio. Tonight's service will be an especially long one, and our tendency is to not eat till after the service. We don't eat during the service because we read, sing, and pray along throughout each service. I will just come up with something simple, like some soup that I can thaw out so that should keep me on track.

Stay safe and strong friends!

Moe enjoyed some cucumber with me last night. He must have been hungry lol. It's not his favourite.
DH was given the okay to get back to work on Monday. There was a stipulation that the dr. included stating the girl who has an issue with my DH does not return to his class, in person or online. Schools here have moved to online classes. That will be new for him, so he will need to figure that all out.
I have been snacking on treats here and there and I have been getting better at what I choose. I aim for fruit and nuts first. I do have some of those chocolate covered almond DH bought.
I heard from one of my friends at work last night. She got laid off, but she volunteered to do so. It's a temporary lay off so that means two months for sure. I didn't hear from anyone else getting a call. I waited by my phone with some anxiousness until 5pm, but it didn't ring. I guess I survived round one. Not sure if there will be more to come.

Shari - Woo hoo for the fresh veggies you enjoyed. That can be very filling and certainly high in nutrition. Hope all goes well for your DH. I am guessing that your schools are closed now, right? So that gives him some extra time before going back to work?

Diane - No harm in having an occasional treat in my book. Sometimes that can make the difference between staying on track or not. Invoking Dr. Mike's 3 bite rule has worked for me quite often. So sorry about the virus death you mentioned. I hope your DH's cousin is handling the loss as well as can be expected.

I am continuing to do well. I cannot really take credit for having much will power. More often than not, when I have carb cravings I cave. It is just that lately I am not having any cravings and my tendency is to eat healthy if healthy food is around. I tend to stray when I am tired, fatigued, having a flare, etc. because I lack the energy to do even the slightest preparation at times. I find that now I am sleeping more than usual, which for me is probably good because when I am awake I feel well rested and have a bit more energy to focus on healthy food prep. Most days I am eating more than 2 fruits per day however, and I don't feel bad about it because I figure it is better to do that than to have a high sugar processed food.

So far I still have a job. I was really busy yesterday, even worked over my hours. I hope to have a shorter work day today to compensate. It's a waiting game to see when the lay off will happen and who will be affected.

Diane- I have only online shopped once. It went well. I was impressed with the service. I do like shopping so it wasn't something I wanted to keep doing. It is much safer not to be going into stores. The virus doesn't seem real, once someone you know has it, and worse doesn't make it it becomes so much more scary. We are taking it seriously, but it seems surreal at the same time.

Paula- keep up you amazing will power. I am still struggling. I didn't record my meals yesterday as I didn't get the casserole uploaded to my recipes. I had some at lunch. I did eat a lot of fresh veggies at supper. I was proud of myself lol. Let us know how the movie is! Sounds interesting.

I have walked Moe, now it's time to get ready for work. I have three meetings to get ready for. All online. DH has a doctors appt. I think he is getting cleared to go back to work. He was on a stress leave. Not sure how much I shared, but I am glad he has recovered mentally. Not going back to the normal teaching role, but at least he still gets a paycheck.

Shari..hoping your job status does not change. Glad you have your grocery plan in place. Neither my DH (75) and with long standing lung issues and diabetes or myself feel we can go inside a store right now. As much as I did not always enjoy grocery shopping I do not like the alternative at all. I pick up my first drive up grocery order tomorrow from Walmart. Not my usual place to shop but In these times we can be thankful they offer the service.

Paula, I admire you are able to be so on track! I am having green tea and instead of my usual apple I had a chocolate chip cookie. No willpower at all right now....I am not binging but I donít seem to want to say no to the occasional treat. One day at a time.

My husbands first cousin called last night to say a friend of hers just died from the C-virus. She had gone in to hospital and passed in 3-4 days. The friend and her DH were spending some winter get away time in Biloxi, Mississippi when she got sick and died. Very sad.

Thanks for the recipe for the soup! I will try it next time I have some peppers. Ah, a soak in a hot tub sounds fabulous! What a nice way to relax. I hope you have good news regarding your job.

I am having an on track compliant day. I have logged all food eaten and that which I have planned for later. When I work ahead like this, it sometimes helps me. I ordered a copy of the DVD "I am Patrick: The Patron Saint of Ireland," from the Christian Broadcasting Network. The DVD arrived today. DS and I want to watch it together, but haven't decided yet when we will do so. We will make an "event" of it some afternoon or evening. I have a bag of organic healthy popcorn for us to enjoy along with the movie.

Roasted Red Pepper soup is pretty easy. Roasting your veggies and then putting through a blender. Then you add your spices, soup bases etc. I enjoy making soup as seldom need a recipe.

My day went by quickly too. We had a soak in the hot tub and then played a game. It was new to me, but I enjoyed it. Then I made a pasta casserole. Not compliant. I didn't end up tracking my meals as I would have needed to add the recipe and I really didn't want to. I will need to, as there are left overs. I can do it after work today!

I wonder if lay offs will happen today. I am waiting to hear! Nervous. I have wan assignment due this morning, so I imagine it won't happen before then. Most likely tomorrow....if it's me. Hoping not.

Roasted pepper tomato soups sounds sooooo yummy! I haven't ever made that. Is the recipe complicated? I love soup but DS runs hot and cold on soup....never quite sure what soups he will enjoy. When he was a little boy he loved soups, but the older he got, the less he seems to want soup. Oh well, our tastes do change at times.

Today went by so very quickly! I am not sure why but I suspect it is because I spent the better part of the day engaging in online church services from around the country, including a service from Alaska where the Bishop of Alaska live streamed from his home due to stay at home restrictions. I have know him for a very long time, back when he was in seminary here in PA in the mid 90s. For a while he was the priest at the church in my city. I also engaged in the service in Ohio where my friend is the priest (this is my favorite live streamed service site), as well as the service from my own parish here in PA. Since the live streams are archived I could play them after they ended for those services occurring simultaneously. It was a great way to spend Sunday.

I tracked everything I ate today and stayed in the spark ranges but found myself straying from the 17DD plan again. I ate couscous at supper (made it for DS but we ended up sharing it) but also enjoyed a healthy serving of roasted carrots. My other indulgence was a few pieces of chocolate, which remarkably still didn't put me over my calorie range.

I am ready for a great week ahead. Hope everyone else is too!

I tracked yesterday, so that's two days in. I haven't been eating enough vegetables. DH bought a big bag of peppers so I am going to look at making stuffed peppers. Maybe make some roasted red pepper tomato soup too.

Diane- DH has been doing a lot of grocery stops. He is shopping for us, his parents and one of our sons. We let his parents know that Tuesdays and Fridays are the shopping days. They were making requests every other day. I don't want DH going to the stores that often any more. We have been fortunate to be able to get of what we need. There always seems to be fresh produce. People aren't hoarding that anymore which is nice. Guess they realize it spoils.

Paula- I hope to keep my tracking up. I agree with you that it is super helpful. We watched our church service online last night. I was on the elliptical while watching. It was fun to multitask. I could get used to that. I would never want to give up meeting in person for our youth services though! I miss the youth so much. I also miss my team.

Shari - Tracking really helps me keep things in perspective. I am usually pretty good about tracking (part of my OCD side I think emoticon ) so I am faithful about recording all food....be it good, bad, or ugly. That is how I know when I overdo my carb intake. I have been great about getting in all of my veggies and fruits, but have had days of too many carbs.

Diane - Congrats on dropping that pound. I have continued to avoid the scale but will work my way there soon. I wish I could send you some of my green tea! I stock up on what I call my "essentials" when they are on sale. That includes coffee and green tea (and also tuna), so I have plenty. We are in good shape with fresh produce too because of our organic produce delivery. They carry other organic items should we need anything, including some canned goods, snack foods, dairy, eggs, etc. Their prices on these items are a little higher than the supermarket but I find it well worth it, especially in the event that I can't get out to pick up a Shoprite order due to bad weather or in the current instance the pandemic restrictions. I received an email from Ed. We will probably talk tomorrow or Monday. He seems to be doing ok, considering everything. Ed is never happy to say the least, so everything is relative when it comes to him.

I did well today, eating healthy and watching portion sizes (portion size is a huge challenge for me). I did have some pasta today with broccoli, garlic, and olive oil. It was very satisfying, and since I didn't eat a lot of other things today I don't feel guilty for having a little pasta. I slept in today so didn't really accomplish much other than gabbing with a few friends who called and participating in some online church services and other church things on line.

A blessed Sunday to all!

Shari...cleaning and laundry! I am like you doing some each day. If we get sick I will get behind so want to keep it caught up before that might happen.

Paula...hoping youíre friend Ed does reach out to you soon. He should be able to check in on his sister even if they do a general state wide SIP. It says you are allowed out for checking on relatives, bringing them groceries etc....of course how much any one person wants to be out and about at all is so individual to health, age and circumstances.

I was actually down a lb from yesterday...even with eating bread at many meals and not eliminating carbs. I had a small regular size Hershey bar yesterday, yikes! I could eat one everyday as I am craving chocolate with the stress...but will try to hold out. We only have 3 bars on hand because our granddaughter wanted símores, lol. We are stretching our apples and eating 1/2 per day and still having green tea as I have an unopened box of that still in cupboard. May go to saving tea bags and using for two days to conserve. Depends on my grocery order I am making for sending tomorrow....and whatever day I pick it up if they have Green tea on that day?? we have coffee on hand but as we start using it I may go to saving any left over in a carafe overnight for next day use. Tough times will mean no wasting. We are being extra careful with everything already.

Today I will continue tracking my food. I did it yesterday and had a pretty good day. I weighed in was up quite a bit. I have been eating poorly and have been stressed. I am getting serious again which is good. It's my second day of tracking and I know if track and stay below my target I will start to lose.

I will spend today doing a lot of cleaning. I will check in with a few people and see how they are doing. Feeling more positive today.

Diane - Thanks for clarifying the situation in AZ. I expect that Ed will call me this weekend. Sheltering in place is easier for some folks than others. I have no problem with it, but I think it will be tough for my friend Ed who lives alone, but not too far from his sister, who also lives alone.

Shari - Maybe the value of your house will increase as the economy improves. I would imagine the Covid-19 situation is impacting real estate prices in Canada as I assume it is here in the US. Hoping for the best and preparing for the worst is a good strategy in my book.

I ate on and off plan today. I started out great again, but strayed later in the day (seems to be a pattern for me to some extent). I picked up our Shoprite from home order today and clearly saw that I bought too many carb items, telling myself they are ok for DS. I am going to have to be very careful over the next week or so or my scale number will be going up instead of down.

It's a stay in all day today. Except I did walk Moe in the morning. I had a lot of work to do today, almost too much. I need to get some of those hours back next week. No one got laid off yet, that I know of.

I have recorded everything I ate today. That's a win. I still have a few calories to go. Maybe some popcorn for a snack tonight.

Frustrated today knowing how much our house is worth. If only Jim's parents were ready this time last year. Now we are stressed out about how much debt we will have. It won't be real debt, because if we sell the farm, we will be way ahead. But we don't want to sell and may have to deal with debt. I am ready for the worst case scenario. We can do it. Just having a frustrating day.

Paula, AZ is not officially Shelter in Place yet, at least by order of governor. Older people were advised some time ago to stay home and voluntarily self isolate. That is what we have been doing. Tomorrow will be day 9 already. (Seems longer). When/if SIP happens more people will join the stay at home part and more businesses will close their doors. Hoping all is well with your friend.

Shari, so glad that you still have your job. This virus has caused so much stress and turmoil for so many without losing your job. Wishing you all the best.

Shari - I am surprised at how quickly folks are losing their jobs at your church. So sad. Great job eating better. Every step in the right direction matters!

Diane - I have a friend who recently relocated to Tuscon. He lived in AZ before but the town escapes me at the moment. I was wondering if the entire state was ordered to stay home yet. He keeps in fairly close touch with me, but I haven't heard from him in a few weeks.

I did better eating today. I dealt with my carb craving by eating some beans....at least they are healthy and have protein....and they satisfied me for sure. I got some paperwork that I have been avoiding taken care of today. So pleased about that. Tomorrow is my Shoprite pick up day since I couldn't get a timeslot for Thursday this week. I will add to our excursing by driving to the post office to mail some letters. Then it will be back home again till sometime next week I guess.....assuming I can even get a time slot for pick up at Shoprite next week.

I still have a job as of today. Not sure how much longer. Bracing myself. Feel terrible for everyone getting laid off. I am back in isolation since I picked my son up from the airport. I am okay with that. I haven't gone out much anyway.

I am eating a bit better. Not 100% there yet. But I am being more conscience of my choices and amounts. I will work out tonight. I would rather that than clean lol.

Paula, county by county helps ease the unemployment blow until all the counties are included. MN is going to be SIP starting Friday at midnight. Will be devastating to some of my family. I am retired of course so the impact is not personally the same. We are SIP voluntarily here in AZ but the whole state will be under it soon, just waiting for the governor to decide when. I hear you about carb craving...for me it is the added carbs available and the added stress. Not a good combo for me!

Shari, those chocolate covered nuts sound yummy! We are no longer going inside stores, only order on line and pick up so less temptations for DH and for me! We just split and apple (doing 1/2 to stretch our supply. It was a sweet and healthy treat with my green tea. Glad you got your taxes ready. Always a big job. Ours was at accountant on 11th because we had a trip to Maui departing 18th. Of course we canceled that trip but good news it made me do our tax prep early. I know it is not due until July here but I like it to be off my mind. July is full of doctor appts, MRI for my brain tumor and mammo....already at my stress limit in July, lol.

Today our governor added our county to his stay-at-home order. Instead of restricting the entire state of PA he is doing this on a county by county basis. So as of 8 pm today we are not to leave our homes except for tasks required for health and safety, or for work at a life-sustaining business.Outdoor activity is also allowed, as long as social distancing guidelines are followed. Now with these restrictions, I doubt that my accountant will be dropping by any time soon to pick up the paperwork. That is ok with me. The filing date has been extended to July 15.

I strayed today, craving carbs. Ugh! This happens when I allow myself to get too hungry. I got busy doing some chores and just kept going while I had the energy instead of stopping to eat. Then when I finally did stop I was ravenous. I definitely know better but allowed it to happen anyway...a good reminder lesson for me.

Paula - The trip went well. It was good to connect with a couple of the staff and get a read on how things are going. We don't have travel restrictions yet, but I think we have very similar protocols in place as far as working, closures and sopping. Most people that can are working from home. You are right about DH, I sent him out to get a couple of things and he picked up a few extra items. So I imagine I will stray. He picked up chocolate covered almonds and cashews. He could have done worse lol

Diane- I agree it is good to get outside even if only for a bit. We also need to get to some projects. I don't know why it's so hard to get motivated to just do it. We have some time, so we should make some goals. Like you, I am praying for the medical profession to discover a vaccine. That this way of life won't go on long.

DH looked after our taxes and took them to the accountant. You can drop them off and then they leave them for one week before touching them. Seems like a good plan to me. I am glad we got to them earlier than we usually do.

Today is a full stay at home day. I did get out for my morning walk which was good. We have fresh snow. Doesn't even seem close to Spring.

Shari - So good to know that Ryan is back and able to work from home! Hope your trip to the office went well. Are there travel restrictions in your area? Are most folks at your job now working from home? Bringing only compliant foods into the house is a good plan. What about your DH? Won't he want some non-compliant foods? That is often my issue. I buy things for DH and then I end up straying.

Diane - Nice that you and DH are able to get in some movement, even if it is somewhat limited. My walking is iffy at best anyway, but I do manage to get in some minimal walking even if it is only from the house to the garage and back or of course around the house. I have been wanting to accomplish more of the household projects that you mentioned, especially closets and drawers, but haven't done as much as I think I could have. I appreciate my organic delivery service and my ShopRite from home where they bring the groceries to the van for me. But even so, I have been wiping everything I bring into the house with a disinfectant spray on paper towels. The stores here are opening for early morning shopping for seniors, which I think is great, especially since the store should be at its cleanliest first thing in the morning. But I would still try to disinfect everything I bring into the house.

I had 2 consecutive good compliant days, yesterday and today. I am aiming for a third day tomorrow. I worked today on my tax prep, which isn't very complicated. My accountant, whom I adore, will stop by to pick up the information one of these days. He usually comes to the house and spends the evening with us. But this year I will just leave the paperwork outside for him to pick up. He said, "We will socialize when the virus is under control."

Hope we all stay safe and healthy and continue our prayer for each other.

Paula...thank you again for your kind thoughts and prayers. I have been praying a lot lately. For our leaders to make wise decisions and for this virus to be over and for everyone working so hard on the medical front lines to help the sick. The list goes on....
So glad your furnace started working and hope it was a fluke that does not occur again!

Shari...wonderful your son is home safe and sound. It is really good he is able to work from home. Some of my family is able to do that and some not. A stressful time for those who canít and those whose businesses are shut down.

We are here on day 6 of self isolation, moving from place to place In the house. Doing too much sitting. Keeping up on regular chores, routines and some projects I have been meaning to tackle but did not take time before. Organize a closet area, drawers etc. DH does daily morning power walk alone. Last night we did slower walk together until my back started to spasm. Will go again tonight.

We are having discussions of grocery delivery vs pickup vs going early in morning at 6:00 and getting what we need/want. I am torn as I am leery of going inside the stores right now which may be laden with virus germs....but likely even more so in coming weeks? Perhaps no matter how careful we are we will get this if, as they predict, 70% of world population will get it before a preventative shot becomes available...and then will shot be effective for all or like the flu shots? We had flu shot and still got type A flu this winter. No answers but lots of stressful decisions to make.

Ttyl, Hoping everyone is blessed with continued good health!

Hello!
It's hard to stay in routine for me. Working at home has me changing up my going to bed and getting up patterns. I have been more tired in the morning so I have been sleeping in. I always figure I can afford to do that without a morning commute. Somehow I get behind and need to get to my office work. That could all change by the end of the week.

I am not eating well. I have been exercising. I am working on eating the foods we have in the house, they are not all compliant that is for sure. Once they are all gone, I am going to bring in healthy foods only.

I am going in to the office today. I have a cheque to pick up but I also want to have an at distance meeting with the youth team. My supervisor is no longer a youth pastor but doing online work for the church. I will support the younger youth pastor now. It will be a team of two. I want to meet with him so we can establish how we work together. Online meetings are great, but for this first one it will be good to have it in the same room. Hopefully I don't lose my job yet.

My son Ryan is home safe and sound. Not sick but he will be in isolation for two weeks. His company allows staff to work from home now, so he will be able to work. It's a relief to have him back in Canada.

I am off to get ready for work. Somehow I need to get my diet back on track.

Diane - I have added Cheryl to my prayer list. Thanks for praying for Lori and all who work in health care. Lori is an amazing young woman, so kind and loving. She and my DS are close as neither of them have siblings and they are close in age.

Our natural gas heat appeared to break last night and our house got very cold. I called the HVAC company at 1 am. The on-call tech was willing to come here at that hour but sounded so tired when I spoke with him I said that we could wait till regular business hours. This morning the company called to say someone would be here by 8:30. A few minutes after they called, I noticed that the house started to warm up. It was very noticeable in our bathroom and kitchen especially. So I cancelled the service call. Now I just hope that the heat stays on. I am glad that I might have been spared the service call fee and whatever the repair would have cost.

I had a healthy breakfast of eggs and will have an orange in a little while. I am determined to have a compliant day today.

Happy Monday!

Shari - Will be looking forward to the news about your son. Good that you and your friend have each other. I do worry about folks who live alone while going through this crisis.

Diane - So sorry about your sister. Is this Robin (who is already on my prayer list along with you) or is this another sister? If this is another sister and you are comfortable sharing her name, please do so, and I will add her to my prayer list. What a shame about your 79 yr old friend. He is taking such a risk for himself as well as for those who work in the health care profession.

My cousin's daughter is a nurse anesthetist and mother of a 4 month old son and an almost 3 yr old son (who is my son's Godson). Today she posted the following on Facebook. It is long, but worth reading and sharing, in my opinion.
"I am scared out of my mind. Please stay home. Do not have family gatherings! You should have contact only in your household. Do not travel. Wipe down everything you touch! Everyone needs to listen and should have started sacrificing 2 weeks ago! We do not have the protection and masks we need. This isnít a lie to get hype or attention. Itís the truth. Itís what the ones in the front line have always given the truth and courage. Never have I thought my job would cost my familyís health safety. For the rest of my career when I intubate someone my heart will always be racing asking myself do they have COVID and is my mask on properly? This simple action we perform daily to help save people has now become one of the scariest tasks I perform. We all know someone in the healthcare system taking care of COVID patients. Respect them like you respect yourself. I come home everyday with a pit in my stomach and lump in my throat knowing I could infect my family. I come home from work I take off all my clothes, wipe down my shoes and bags and do not let anything enter the house. I shower sometimes with tears in my eyes not ever being prepared of what the future weeks will hold. I struggle holding my kids knowing ďmy mind isnít totally in that moment.Ē Some of our fellow staff members compared this to knowing someone close to you has died and when you wake up at night itís the first thing you think about. We strive for a ďnew reality.Ē We are all in this together! Your healthcare workers are now your military! WE STAY THERE FOR YOU, NOW YOU STAY HOME FOR US!!! If your small business is shut down or you know someone who has n95 masks or anything to protect workers, please donate them to your hospital! We will all get through this. Let be patient and supportive in any way possible."

Shari....So happy for you to here your son is coming back from overseas. Wishing him safe travels.

Good you are getting a grocery order still, Paula. With sooo many people to feed and times as they are I am hoping these home deliveries can continue and manage to keep up. One day or week at a time. I have not tried any grocery delivery yet and know we will have to attempt it maybe in a week...just sooo risky to go into the stores now at our ages.

My sister had to go to doctor for follow up after her hospital release. She came into her home after and stripped out of all her clothes including a jacket. Put into a garbage bag and washed entire as one load. She took hot shower. She wiped everything down with lysol after leaving it on 6 minutes before wiping after her shower. That is how careful she is being if she has to leave the house. Her hospital stay started with ambulance and ended up 8 days later with diagnosis of bullious emphysema with one giant bullea at 6.29 inches. Mayo in Rochester, MN is looking at open chest surgery but with all this C-viris she is advised to wait and stay at home. Evaluate again in April. This is the sister who was with us in AZ the month of February. When she left there was no indication of this except she has had some shortness of breath for several months....which doctors sort of poo-pooed....said just COPD from years of smoking which she quit a year ago. Sad to say not soon enough. She is 70.

On other end of scale we have friend living here in AZ who is going everywhere, ďgoing to live his lifeĒ, ďno virus will get meĒ. He is 79 and just seems in complete denial. We are home self isolating and considering risks of food delivery....itís all so unbelievable. God bless, stay healthy ladies. Wishing you and your loved one continued good health.

DS should be on a plane as I write. He flies to Seattle and from there we hope he can find a flight the rest of the way. He booked his trip through Expedia, so they should be arranging that for him. He sent a photo and he is wearing a mask. Good idea for the plane.

Need to make plans for the day today. I will go to my friend's place (the one I went to Mexico with). We have spent time together since the trip. Kind of isolating together. She "works from home" at my place. It's too hard for her to be home alone 24/7 so this arrangement works. We would have been exposed to all of the same germs anyway.

I had a pretty good first day. Mostly because I was too stressed to eat. Drank a lot of water though. That was good. Will spend a quiet morning at home. I like that a lot.

Good you got your ordered placed. It's hard to book that service here too. I am praying that there will be a breakthrough vaccine or treatment soon. It's not a great health or economic situation.

I hope your DS gets home safely and soon. I also hope you got off to a good start today. You are so right about stress not being good for our body. During the time of greatest stress in my life is when I gained most of my weight. Ugh!

I had a good day today but strayed a little with some graham crackers. They did hit the spot and end my craving, and in the scheme of things aren't horrible, but I know I could have skipped them and eventually done fine. I had to place my Shoprite from home order for next week today already because the time slots for pick up are filling up so fast. Usually I place the order late Wednesday evening for pick up Thursday, but today the first opening was for Friday the 27th. I grabbed it. I am glad that at least I should be able to pick up what we need next week. I didn't overbuy, just ordered our usual kind of stuff.

I have never tired Audible. I do listen to podcasts before bed. I don't last too long before I am fast asleep. Be good to try it out the service. I know a few people who really like it.

I ate terribly for one last day. My DS is heading back to Calgary so that will help with my eating. I had more mouths to feed while he was here. I am all excited to do better today. Ready to start!

My son's flight from Japan was cancelled. He has to wait one more day to get home. Praying this next flight does not get cancelled. I am getting a bit more anxious. I was really looking forward to his arrival home tonight. Now I can only hope he can get home tomorrow night.

Stress is never good for our bodies.

Shari, Isn't it amazing how folks can surprise us sometimes?

I started out well today but my eating deteriorated tonight....again not bad, but again not as compliant as I had hoped for. I am pleased that I got at least a little work done around the house today. I find myself getting a bit lazy these days, not something I am proud of. So at least today I accomplished a few tasks.

I have never done audio books but am thinking of trying them since I got an email from Audible telling me that they have quite a few free audio books for "children of all ages." The adult books are include 28 literary classics, some of which I read previously but many that I haven't. I don't know if I will be able to sustain attention to an audio book, however.

Here is a link to the free Audible books in case anyone is interested.

Paula- thank you for saying that. You really lifted my spirit. Only one person reached out to me to see how I was doing from work. And if you can believe it, it was the guy that I didn't speak to for two years. We had such a tough situation being hurt by each other, and then he came and admitted that he needed to do right by me and my son. Things recovered in that moment and we are great confidents now. So you are right, sliver linings can happen.

I am not on track. I know I could be, but I have so many excuses. I will get there again.

Diane - You certainly are deserving of a break after your long stretch of company! Relaxing with a cup of green tea is my kind of "me time." I think it is wise for your grandson to steer clear of you now, given all of the concerns over virus transmission.

Shari - You have a good attitude about your job situation. There could be a silver lining to the situation that might not be apparent at the moment.

I had a good day today and am mostly on track. It was a relatively busy day for me in that I had a few errands to take care of, all drive thrus.....had to go to the bank, post office to mail letters, pick up the ShopRite from home order, putting groceries away, and cooking a healthy dinner. Tonight also seemed to be my night for texts and phone calls from friends. One of my best friends spends the winter in New Mexico. She and her DH had plans to go to Machu Piccu in Peru this month. Thank goodness their trip was cancelled due to the virus situation just days before they were to leave, and they will get their money back. Otherwise they would be there right now, and Peru closed its border today, stranding many Americans. She called me tonight from NM, and we gabbed a long time.

Paula, read over some posts I missed. Glad your hands are better. I am sitting back with a cup of green tea. My granddaughter and her boyfriend went back to MN today! My other grandson did not come to stay because one of his roommates who works in bar/restaurant is sick with cough.....roommate doesnít think it is the Coronavirus virus but he went to his parents home to recover. My grandson is staying away from us out of caution for us older people.

Shari....so glad your friend tested negative! Sorry about your job. So many people laid off now with this virus. Saying prayers for everyone and that this virus can be defeated before many more deaths!

We are officially ďself isolating ď now. It has not totally hit me yet as it was busy morning with trip to airport to drop off guests etc. Then I was tied up hours on some business that required me to be on computer and phone and now at almost 5:00pm I can finally sit with my feet up. I am tired from a long siege of company, cooking and stress over virus prep including stocking groceries for our hibernation etc. No eggs, no milk, not much of anything on grocery shelves. So my normal morning egg routine will end as soon as this partial dozen gets used. I will miss my eggs!

Wishing you ladies and your families all the very best health in the coming days and weeks. I will check in from time to time even though there is no way for me to diet with the limited foods we have in the house now. I will eat whatever we have available and pick up healthy eating later, ďGod willing and the creek donít riseĒ.

Just a quick check in as I need to start work. I was on the phone with a friend this morning to catch up with all of what's going on.

It looks like I will lose my job after next week. The church is in chaos and I think giving will drop as people lose work. I don't like it, but what can I do. It's the new reality. I can take a break for awhile and then if things settle out maybe there will be a way to make some money.

My eating isn't great right now. I am not stress eating, just not really making an effort. I need to.

Good news about the test results!! It seems that most folks who possibly can are working from home these days. So much safer in my opinion. Hope Ryan gets home safely.

My eating continues to be marginal...could be better, could be worse. I have plenty to do here around the house to keep myself busy, so I am not bored or anything close to that. I am certainly well rested and have been keeping in touch by phone with my close friends. I follow the news closely, but escape from it with reading and other forms of at home entertainment. It will be interesting to see how things go with my Shoprite from home pick up tomorrow. I got an email from Shoprite telling me they are not doing any substitutions. Usually if an ordered item is out of stock, they ask permission to substitute a similar item, but not now. If an item is out of stock, I just won't get anything. I didn't place a huge order this week, just my usual selection of regular things plus some sale items.

The results came back and they were negative. Great news. I will continue to work from home for the rest of the week. Not sure what will be up the next week and will wait to hear back from the church.

Ryan is on vacation, it's his fifth time there. He said he is safer there than he is here. Lots of truth to that. He is scheduled to arrive home Saturday which is just in time with airlines shutting down so many flights starting on Monday.

Our province has the same closures that you have listed. I didn't eat much, but I did eat poorly. I need to do better too.

So glad you are feeling well....a blessing for sure! Will be looking forward to your friend's results. Is your DS vacationing in Japan? I recall he likes Japan and has been there more than once, right? So good that you got to talk with him for such a long time!

Nothing very different here at the moment. My nail salon is closed now. Our governor made some directives about essential businesses staying open (supermarkets, laundromats, convenience stores, auto repair places, pharmacies, Post Offices, banks, gas stations, etc.) and non-essential businesses closing (gyms, theatres, bars, nail & hair salons, etc.). All restaurants are closed for dining in but delivery and take-out options are permitted.

My eating today wasn't bad but there is still plenty of room for improving. I didn't feel very serious about what choices I made today. No excuses. I need to do better.

My friend will get her results today. She missed the call last night. No voice message so she has to wait for them to try calling again. I will be working from home for the rest of the week. Which was fine yesterday so I think I will manage the rest of the week too. My boss is on a ski vacation so the youth office space is pretty quiet. I am not feeling ill, so that's a blessing. Just don't want to be accused of spreading anything.

My eldest is still in Japan. I tried to get him to try and get home early but he feels safe there. He should start the journey home on Saturday. He said if he can't get home, he will wait it out there. He is calm. I will be too. No use getting mad. We chatted on the phone last night for 40 minutes. That was really good.

I hope to work from 8:00 to 3:30 today. Time for tea before I get started.

Praying that your travel companion's test results are negative and praying that you are fine too. Very wise to self-isolate! Just about everything here is closed except for pharmacies and grocery stores. The latest word is "stay calm, stay safe, and stay home." That works for me! I had a quiet pleasant day today, enjoying being home with no where to go. My dermatologist's office is now closed so I won't be going for laser treatments anytime soon. I also won't be going to get my nails done this Thursday even if the salon is open. I will make sure that when I do go back I give Crystal some extra money because I know she depends on her clients. But for now, since I am not going anywhere, it doesn't matter too much to me what my nails look like. The estimates of how long we will be staying home seem to vary. It is minimally 2 weeks, but I have heard some folks say that this situation could continue well into the summer DS and I will adhere to whatever the civil authorities require. It is for our own good as well as the good of others.

There is an Orthodox church in Ohio that is now live streaming services every evening at 7 pm. The priest there is an old friend of mine. He uploads a copy of each service on as a google doc for others to download to follow the service. For the past 2 nights he has served an Akathist service which is kind of a hymns of praise service with beautiful poetic verses. Last night's service was an Akathist to St. Nicholas and tonight's was to St. Tikhon, Patriarch of Moscow. I believe these services will continue as long as this virus situation continues. It is this church's Sunday morning Divine Liturgy that DS and I "attend" via livestream now too. What a blessing.

I had my morning routine interrupted the last two days. Hopefully things are back to routine, at least in the morning.

My Covid-19 update is somewhat frustrating but I need to responsible. I had a bit of a sore throat and I have a dry cough. Very similar to my mold issues from work. They have started doing renovations, so my symptoms could be mold related. But, I also just got back from Mexico. So.... I now need to self isolate. I feel terrible now that I worked all of last week. One of the girls I travelled with has been tested since she is a health care professional and can't afford to get others sick. I will feel so much better once her results come back. I am going to zip in to the office to pick up everything I need so that I can work from home for tomorrow, and most likely longer.

I have worked out once and I am eating better. If I have to stay home this week, I think I will do really well. We need to get some groceries, but not too many items. People have been hoarding and the shelves were very very bare. I think we should be fine this week to get what we need.

Good to hear from you Diane. Have been wondering how you are doing!

We are well stocked with the necessities and then some. I tend to buy in larger quantities when items we use are on sale. So I didn't have any pressure to stock up in light of the virus situation. I have a large supply of my seltzer water, coffee, and green tea. Those are my security items. Our organic delivery keeps us supplied with fresh fruits and veggies, so that is good too. I know we could survive for quite a while with just what is here now. We will have another organic delivery this Tuesday, which is very reassuring and comforting too. Depending on what is going on, I will probably do another Shoprite from home on Thursday, but if I don't we will still be fine.

The young lady, Crystal, who has been doing my nails for about 14 years texted me today to check on us and offered to shop and drop off anything we needed after she finished working today. She knows that shopping presents challenges for me. I thought that was just so very sweet of her. I assured her we are ok for now but will let her know if anything changes. Her offer meant the world to me!

My eating is not so good today however. I did well with fruits and veggies but indulged in English muffins (another comfort food?). They are whole grain and only 100 calories each, but still not exactly on plan. I am forgiving myself and moving on.

I have decided to not go anywhere for a while. I am canceling my laser treatments this week and possibly for even longer. We aren't going to church for a while either.

Sorry have been missing in action a lot as we still have company and grown grandson arriving so more beds in use tonight. Grilling out so we wont need to brave restaurants tonight. Not sure how long they will be open around here. Last night all the wait staff was wearing rubber gloves. So many businesses closing or drive through only. Since this is very large senior population people are getting food supplies and staying home. We havenít started staying home yet but with all the masks I saw this morning it will happen soon I suppose. Once our latest guests fly home we will try to hunker down. Our neighbors are already self isolated....we met out in street with one of them last night at a distance and they have not been out in stores for last week.

Sun City West closed all theupir facilities for minimum two weeks with review at that time. Sun City Grand where we are closed all facilities yesterday, all clubs closed and events cancelled etc until May 1st. People advised to avoid close contact and all crowds as we are at risk population.

Lots of challenges with company here and lack of items in the stores. We have stocked up on Muchinex, cough syrup, tylenol, electrolytes etc in case we get sick or quarantined. Stores are out of all cleaners, all detergents, all toilet paper and paper towels, water is gone. Soups getting scare as well as rice, pasta etc too. We have enough food for a couple weeks...wonít starve if stores stay open and if we are not too sick to get to the store.

I hope you are all prepared in the event this pandemic strikes as many of us as they are predicting now. I am saying prayers they are wrong on numbers of people who will fall ill but news from people here who have relatives in Italy makes me want to be cautious. Take care and stay well! I am taking a break from my usual diet food buying as fresh veggies wonít last long etc.....will get back on healthier eating plan after this Coronavirus is over.

Great news about the change at your work. Working more hours might not be too bad as long as you can see a light at the end of the tunnel with a planned retirement. I found that when I decided on retiring, the time flew by.

I am doing fine with eating today. I just hope I keep it up for the rest of the day.

I won't be going many places now with the virus issues. All schools in our state are now closed for the next 2 weeks at least. I love being at home and am by nature a homebody so this isn't a hardship for me at all. We postponed DS's birthday dinner planned for Sunday with our upstate relatives. They were coming here but called today suggesting a postponement because of the virus. I readily agreed, and DS is fine with this. We will get together when things here settle down. I had ordered a cake for him at the restaurant but found myself without a cake now that we changed plans. Thank goodness for my friend Sandi. She is going to buy him a cake for me tomorrow. She will leave it outside for me to sneak in without him knowing (because I already told him he wouldn't be having a cake this year on his actual bday). He continues to enjoy his new mattress, and I have a new sweater to give him so we will celebrate at home, just the 2 of us. I also think we will probably not be going to church for a while.

My work is going to change up for me. I am exchanging some things I have been overseeing with working for the young adult pastor and continuing to work with the youth. I like this change as I have had that role before. No more working with adult pastors and volunteers which I have found to be very frustrating. I don't have details about when that will happen, but it should within the next month. I have to work at 40 hours/week to get this role. I am not super excited about that. But, the money will help and I do hope to retire in two years.

DIet wise- I did better yesterday but not as good as I had hoped. I had to work late and got too hungry before getting home and grabbed junk. The Covid virus is changing things quickly and I had stick around to see if our youth event planned for today had to be cancelled. So far, it's not.

Let's hope your hands fully clear up!

It is great to be taking care of some life tasks as you said. It is promising that your work duties might change for the better. I hear you on eating the unhealthy stuff. Ugh! I have those days from time to time, as you know. You are right though, good days breed more good days. I have done ok for a few days again and feel so much better without those unhealthy cravings. Often when I don't feel well, I choose whatever is easiest because cooking seems too demanding of my energy. Fortunately, that has not been the case for the past few days.

I just finished the 8th week of laser treatments. Originally I was recommended for 10 weeks of treatments. The tech who does the treatments has said that perhaps I can cut back to once a week instead of twice a week, which would make my life a bit easier. The improvement is noticeable but I am not 100% clear. I am hoping to be totally cleared up eventually. I think next week I will go for only one treatment. I am pleased with the results but of course would prefer to be totally cleared up.

I am getting some life tasks taken care of which is good. I had a work meeting yesterday with an executive that I don't particularly respect, but I got it done. I might be able to switch up a few of my work duties that are in my favour, but we shall see. I f that works out, my life in the work world will be better. I still think they have no idea what they are doing with administrative help, but I am thinking in time they will abandon this absurd system.

I made the poor decision to give myself one last day of eating whatever. And I did. Today my only goal is to not eating any unhealthy crap. If I am successful, I think I can start adding back all of the healthy habits I had earlier this year. I know one good day propels me to add another, once I have a couple of good days, I seem to have more will power and make good choices.

Are your hands continuing to improve with treatments? You must be nearing the end soon. Will you continue to get treatments to keep things in a good condition?

Looking forward to a day of healthy eating.

Glad you are past the procedure. When I had my 2 endometrial biopsies, I had to go back in to meet with the doctor to get the results. I didn't like having to wait, but I guess that is how they do it now. Each time the results were "inconclusive" which led to subsequent procedures (first a D & C and a few years later the hysterectomy).

Work stress is horrible, as you know. I feel for your DS. Hope it doesn't take too much out of him. Selling your home will be a welcome diversion once you get really moving with it.

I had a good day eating today. I slept in which I apparently needed. Once I was up and moving I did get a lot (for me) done around the house. I made a broccoli and garlic dish for supper to which I added some pasta for DS and I had some pasta as well, but not a lot. It was very filling and very tasty.

Tomorrow I have another laser treatment and then will pick up our Shoprite from home order. I think Friday is a day entirely at home for us, unless we decide to go to a Lenten evening service at church. It will depend on how much energy I have I guess.

Happy Hump Day!

So glad that procedure is over. I have to go back in two weeks for results. Not sue why I need to go back though. Usually you just go in when it's bad news. It didn't hurt, just a bit uncomfortable I went to work, but I probably should have rested at home.

DH is still at home from work due to a situation with a student. That should come to a close soon. He is stressed out even though he didn't do anything wrong. The stress is still real.

Once that is over we can really focus on selling our home. The sign is just up, we will get photos of the house and put it online. If we don't sell over the next six weeks we will list with a realtor.

On to eating better after today! I need to get back on track.

Glad the mattress is a winner. It's great your son is thankful, that's the best way for a heart to go through life. Being thankful is so much better than having an attitude of entitlement.

Shari, you have been on my mind and in my prayers all day today. Good idea on taking the Tylenol. I did that when I had to have my 2 endometrial biopsies, which were done in the gyn's office. No fun but necessary.

John's new mattress is here, and he LOVES it. I do too. There were no complications, thank goodness. Everything went well. The new bed is all made up and ready for DS who I think would have gone to bed at 5 pm just to try it out if he wasn't busy doing other things. I love seeing him so happy. He is always appreciative of any little thing, and this is a big thing, so you can just imagine how appreciative he is.

I didn't do as well as I planned with eating today. I do like my cottage cheese, but often forget that it is on the higher side for sodium. So I stopped eating it every day. But I wonder if the sodium matters that much. When I first did this diet, I ate the Live Active cottage cheese just about every day with fruit I added. And I did really well at that time.

In four hours from now I should be past the polyp removal. It was a hard walk this morning thinking about it and feeling the nerves in my stomach in full swing. I am going to take a Tylenol before I go, that might help with the pain that may accompany the procedure. I was told to take Tylenol when I went to get my broken hand checked so I think it could be helpful for this too.

I have never been able to find the Breakstone Live Active cottage cheese. I will have to look it up to see if any of our Canadian stores carry it. I love cottage cheese. I ate it for breakfast in Mexico. I also love those halo oranges. So good. I don't think I have ever had potato pancakes. I have heard how good they are. That might be something I venture to try and make.

It's good to get new mattresses. It's not something we ever really like to spend money on but our backs can sure suffer if we don't. I really need to start saving up for a new mattress for us. DH is pretty heavy and I know his side is getting pretty worn out. I don't know anyone that sells furniture. I think that would be super helpful to have great customer service and having a good relationship with owners would ensure that.

Fearful to face the day, but times stands still for no one.

Welcome back Shari! I missed you! Getting away can do wonders! I will say some extra prayers for you tonight and tomorrow for your procedure. I pray for your DH and your DSs daily too. Will continue for sure, given your DH's work concerns.

It is wise to focus on your health now. You are well within reach of your goal and will get there. You sure will be busy with so much going on in selling your house.

Not much to report here. I have continued to have good days and not-so-good days in terms of healthy choices. Today started off great....Breakstone Live Active cottage cheese and a Halo tangerine for breakfast. By lunch time my friend and neighbor Sandi was here with a plate of homemade potato pancakes (one of my favorite foods) for DS and me. I limited myself to 3 and logged them on spark, but this was not part of my plan for today. I was back on track for the most part for the rest of the day and am looking forward to not straying tomorrow.

I bought DS a new mattress and box spring for his birthday (which is on Sunday). The mattress/box spring will be delivered tomorrow so that is a big deal for him. He has needed a new mattress/box spring for some time now. My job tomorrow will be to remove all of the under the bed storage boxes in his room and to get the old mattress and box spring ready to be taken away by the delivery guys. The furniture store is giving us a new bed frame too which I think DS also needs. I hope all goes well. It seems like whenever we get something like this I worry that there could be complications. I have dealt with this furniture company for several years now. It is a family owned store, and I always talk to the owner for every purchase I make there. Their customer service, through the owner, is superb.

Hello! I am back at home and back to regular life. I enjoyed my week away so much. I am truly thankful that I was able to get away. I am back to a lot of things that were only on hold for me while I was away.

The first thing I am focusing on is my health. I value it and I am ready to get back to my weight loss goals.

The next goal that has a high priority is selling our house. I am praying that we can do that this month!

I have some stressors to look after and those include getting a polyp on my cervix removed tomorrow. That has been a worry and it will be good to have that procedure behind me. I hope it doesn't hurt too much. Then I need to make some decisions about work. That's not as pressing. DH is going some rough issues at work and I am praying those get resolved very very soon. He is so stressed that he has taken a leave from his job. We hope is doesn't drag on and we can move past that issue too.

Thanks for being a supportive community. I missed our check ins and I am glad to jump right back in to them. I am sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. To make it to 91 is quite incredible. I am glad you were able to attend the service to honour her life. I can imagine that she is in the company of Jesus and so happy to have a new life in a new body.

Another good day here. I picked up our Shoprite from home order and am always so pleased when we are well stocked with healthy foods. Tomorrow DS and I are going to the funeral for a woman from our church. She was 91 and a very sweet lady. We are close to her family too through our church. DS and I will attend the church service but are planning to skip the mercy meal afterwards. That will help me stay on track.
