The easiest way to add more calories is to eat more meat and eggs. Since these are usually very low carb it is easy to add more calories.

Women have very small veins. When a women has a heart attack, it is sometimes hard to determine that a heart attack has occurred. Too much fat WILL clog your arteries. Your body does not process anything consistently throughout your lifespan. When you "hit" menopause (after about 3-5 years into menopause), your system slows down tremendously. Lots of water, exercise helps but you need some fiber to help the body process the fat through. Losing weight is only a major part of a healthy lifestyle. Balance in your diet is another major part of a healthy lifestyle.

My eating plan is very close to your diet. Are you still losing weight? I am 5' 0". Diagnosed with Pre-diabetes now for about 2 years - no medicine to manage so I have to maintain a healthy eating program and exercise (mostly walking). I started at about 157 lbs. now weigh 135 (most days). However, I still need to lose about 15-20 lbs. (and keep it off)! Please share your recipe for the ice cream. Great job you're doing. Thanks for the post.

thank you for all these responses. I see there are varying opinions on whether it is detrimental to not get all calories in or not. I had always thought even on LC diet that you should get them in, but now will have to dig a bit deeper to see if that is truly the case or not.

Thanks!!!

Mickee, at the left of each post is info about the person who posted. For most people there is an icon for See My Spark Page, or something like that. Click on it. Then on the right of most people's SparkPage is an icon for See My Nutrition and Fitness Trackers, or something like that. Click on that and you can see that person's nutrition tracker. It's not available for everyone, because some people don't use the tracker and others have chosen not to make their trackers public. But they are available for a lot of people.

Adzy is right, if you aren't eating your body will burn its fat stores, so that's why you don't get hungry. This only works on LC, and only if you don't cheat. This is because the hormonal balance on the non LC diet keep holding on to the fat stores due to insulin in the bloodstream.

I'm hardly ever hungry now that I eat low carb! I regularly either skip meals now (especially dinner, because I'm not hungry enough when I get home from work) or I go 6-7 hours before I'm hungry for my next meal. This means that I'm not eating nearly as many calories as I used to. I eat plenty of fat at each meal (fatty meats, olive oil, mayonnaise, heavy cream) but my calories are still pretty low, especially given that I work out so much.

I'm hoping this doesn't cause a problem. I read about Intermittent Fasting on Marks Daily Apple and he basically says that the whole 'starvation mode' thing doesn't really apply when you're eating low carb as your body will just burn its fat reserves during fasting periods. So I'm hoping that will be the case.

Anywho, I am starving now and it's time for breakfast. Off to make a 3-egg omelettte with bacon and cheese! Yum.

My calories are usually around 2200/day, sometimes less if I only have time for two meals. A typical day looks like this:
breakfast: 1 cup full-fat plain yogurt, 2 ounces nuts, 1 cup berries, 1 tbsp. ground flax seed
lunch: 1-2 cups raw mixed veggies (many varieties), with lots of olive oil and vinegar, 2 hard-boiled eggs or 2 ounces cheese
dinner: 8-10 oz. of meat or fish or 3-4 scrambled eggs with cheese, 1-2 cups vegetables (often cooked leafy greens)
dessert: homemade ice cream (from raw full-fat milk and cream), sweetened with Xylitol with cocoa powder or nuts added for flavoring.
Drinks on most days: 1 cup coffee or tea, one glass milk (12 oz.) and lots of water

I have days that I just don't have time to eat, low carb keeps me from being hungry so it does not bother me. I do try to eat though when I can.

I eat several beef hamburgers a day or a very large steak, no problem getting enough food when you eat high fat meat.

Mickee----I sometimes have that problem, but I do find I lose better if I can keep my calories to 1200 a day. Some problem to have, huh? Who would have thought?

You can check out my Food Tracker from my Spark Page. Click on "Shared Food and Fitness Trackers". I don't always get to 1200, but I try.

Oh, how I wish I had that problem! I seem to end up with too many usually.

But, kidding aside, I have heard some of the people say they couldn't get enough, so maybe someone will respond to you.

Does anyone but me have trouble getting all your calories in each day? I find I am still lagging below 1000 daily.

Is there somewhere where people post menus daily? Maybe if I see some real people menus then I can see where I am going wrong.
