No, the reset automatically installed the appropriate updates, as far as I can tell. All told it was about a two hour process, and then he had to go through the initial setup again.

Then does he have to download all of the updates since he bought the computer, Woubbie?

Maw, we just restored DH's laptop to factory settings for similar issues and it is running MUCH better now. It's taking him a little while to get his favorites and such back where he wants them, but I think we bought at least another year before he needs to replace it.

BUDGETMAW: those kind of computer problems would throw me over the edge….

Although I do get outside regularly in the sun - I always limited my time to 15/20 minutes. Then I've got the SPF out - but most times, that's more than enough sun for me and I move to a shady area..... It’s a nice sunny day today – a bit chilly, but that didn’t stop me from getting some fresh air.

Spending the day moving from one thing to another. Trying to stay away from the TV now that I've identified it as a reason for me not doing anything. DH & I did watch the end of the movie we start the day before yesterday. It was watchable.

Thinking of looking around online for some sort of class to take.....

With me, it is definitely with clothes--we have a very private backyard, but not that private! I have seen 'nude sun bathing' so maybe that's a subset of sun bathing. (GRIN) Back in my day, sun bathing was the way you got a tan. I don't do that, actually never tried to get a tan, though usually did. Now it is sunscreen, skin brighteners and moisturizing. The sun is there for warmth and brightening my mood.

Allergies here too. I'm really hoarse. I once had someone tell me how sexy my deep voice was--yeah, right!

I think the discrepancies in how sheltering at home is supposed to look are starting to get to me. Some businesses (restaurant kitchens) are functioning like normal, and in other cases, I'm watching client businesses shrivel and die. And my client who freaked out on Day 1 and closed her business in sheer terror (a healthcare provider, I might add), just called and left me a voice mail. Probably wants me to do something for her but she's going to argue she can't pay me...

My allergies have kicked up pretty good, and my head hurts and I sound like a dude. Ugh. I've got to exercise a bit and then dive into my 88-year old client's businesses. He's an active builder and has two piles of work on my desk.

Then it's off to the PT job. Put in about 11 hours on him this weekend and I'm already over my max hours for the month with him. We will have to work something out - my replacement starts on Tuesday and will work three days a week. We'll be working together until she can fly solo on both very complicated businesses.

I need more coffee...

Leone, did you know that "sun bathing" used to mean pretty much exactly that? You bathed in water once or twice a week and bathed in the sun the other days. It was actually supposed to be part of your hygiene routine. I don't think I ever say exactly how it was supposed to be done. Nude? Inside in the sunlight coming through the windows? Outside? I'm guessing it was something that everyone knew how to do. Like I haven't seen anything that says whether you're supposed to wear clothes when you're bathing in water, either.

No weed here of either kind, lol!

A work colleague used to bring in her family recipe pineapple upside down cake on her birthday. Her brother actually made it in a cast iron skillet.

Mondays are seeming to be my most productive day of the week for sure, so I'm hoping to really crank out the goods. High on the list, though, is figuring out what's wrong with Kyle's unemployment. He missed his last bi-weekly claim week and it was just as everyone was being laid off and crashing the system. He got a confirmation that he was set up again, but now it won't let him file his regular claim. Apparently the only way to get it sorted is to call.

Right...

My big deal of the day is to haul some recycling out of the basement. DH is in charge of trash and recycling, so I assumed he'd be taking care of the stuff in the basement, but apparently he feels his mission only involves the upper floors. As long as I bag and box it all and put it on the porch he'll still take it down. Now I just have to get to it.

There's some laundry to do and my shopping list, which I added to yesterday, but didn't follow through with ordering. I spent most of yesterday on calls. Talked to Max and Morgan via Discord for a nice long chat, then had a political meeting on Zoom. Talked to my sister on Discord and then my daily call with Mom via phone. Well, I guess I'm done socializing for the next two weeks!

Happy Monday, and Wash Your Hands!

I hope you can 'fix' the problems with your computer MAW. Maybe someone here will have a suggestion--no tech knowledge on my end.

Ordered more wool for some background colors and am hoping it will come soon as I have finished with the color I am currently using--that's what happens when the design changes mid-stream. The material usually arrives within a couple of days, but everything is just a wee bit different in these days of COVID 19. I have some masks from Etsy that have been in ABQ for a week--not sure they will ever arrive and the seller is ignoring me.

The cottage changes out today so there will be more laundry, but for a few moments everything is washed, dried and folded! Everything! Amazing!

Bob is still working on repairs and needs to paint the porch ceiling before I start the rails and walls--he is a bit messy, so no need to do my painting until he is done. I'm actually excited to start--I guess boredom does that to you. By the end of the week I will probably be complaining.

It is mostly cloudy today, and I would love to have the sun come out. Bathed in the sun yesterday and sure did enjoy it--even with all the pollen.

Enjoy your day, laugh with, at or about something and wash your hands.

And a big thank you to everyone who volunteers - especially these days, but everyone who normally volunteers too.

Today is also Lima Bean Respect Day(?), 4/20 Day (aka Weed Appreciation Day), Look Alike Day, and Pineapple Upside Down Day (I wonder how many "young people" even know what a pineapple upside down cake is?).

Today I absolutely positively MUST do my geography homework! Though I'm almost (but not quite!) hoping my computer will finish crashing so I have an excuse not to have turned it in.

Yes, I'm having technical difficulties. My main computer (laptop) has gotten incredibly slow. Not just with the internet, but even turning it on, logging on, getting Word and Excel to run and so forth. I tried clearing out the cookies, and that didn't help. And the battery has about had it, too. And I can't do gmail on it; it loads, I see my gmail account and the recent emails for about 1 second, then it says that it can't sync my account and bounces me out. Fortunately I have the Chromebook that I got for school, and I can use it for internet stuff, but I can't log into it. I can only get on to it as Guest, and then it doesn't save anything. What I wrote down as the password doesn't work. I've tried to do what it says to do if I don't remember my password, and that didn't work. Only tried once. Will try again. And I don't know how to use the fake Word and Excel programs on it. And I can't sign out of my gmail account on my phone. I tried signing in as Incognito, hoping that that would sign me out of my real account, and now I can't get out of Incognito mode, and still can't sign out of my gmail account, either.

I guess a couple of the things I need to do are to computer-related. I need to print out my big excel file of passwords, and back up my important files on to a thumb drive. I could back things up onto the Cloud, but just not comfortable with that.

Anyway the sun is shining, it's supposed to be warm today, no one in my family is sick (with anything, let alone COVID-19!), and none of is out of a job. My generation is all retired, and the younger generation is still either working (the older ones) or still in school. All is well in my immediate world.

Wash your hands, laugh, do some weeding (the old fashioned kind of weed, that is!), and don't be a COVIDiot!
