That used to be one of my favorite cakes. I still love chocolate but most forms of wheat make me go "Meh".

Did you know that it's not supposed to be "German", as in country of original recipe, but "German's", as in family last name?

Lordy, where does my day even go? I was happy as a clam this morning, both boys were out of the house. Somewhere around 1:30 it seems to have fallen apart.

Did you ever start going back through your day and then finally realize that wait a minute I really did get some stuff done? Max called at 1:35 and we talked for about a half hour. Then DH came home for a bit and asked me some questions. He left and then Kyle came home and we talked. So yeah, I can see what derailed me from my task list, and that's okay.

It's getting late and I DO still want to accomplish a few things before bed, so I'm off. Happy Thursday, and Wash Your Hands!

Kris, it's a coconut/pecan praline "icing" actually.
It nearly makes the coconut tolerable. The key word is: tolerable.

I'm with you. No thanks to coconut.

Make it caramel and pecan and I'm there.

German chocolate is the kind that has coconut, right? Blech. Cake isn't that tempting to me, but especially anything with coconut flakes. I like all other coconut stuff though.

Beautiful day, just had an early supper and am heading over to DD's to paint again. It's been fun spending time with her.

Doggy park early this a.m. as usual. Plan to go again this evening, too.

Nothing else on my agenda, also as usual.

Thinking Thursday for me.... thinking what I am going to do to stay busier.

I'm making my living room a bit more visually appealing one step at a time - got two new end tables, and one arrived last night. "Some assembly needed"... I'll tackle that today and put the other one out in the garage for a future donation.

I've got to go see my older client today and get some of his bills paid. Then I have a grocery order to pick up, and after that home to work on more client stuff. Three more have been turned over to their CPA's and tax returns are in the works. Actually, I think that means I am officially in 2020... Yikes.

"National Making Life Beautiful Day explores the many ways that life can be made beautiful, recognizes the beauty in everyday life, and is for encouraging and celebrating men and women who work to make life beautiful. Life can be made beautiful by building relationships and helping others reach their goals. Small acts of beauty can go a long way, and help oneself as well; by making someone else feel good, the person doing the beautiful act will also feel fulfillment." Not much planned for today. A phone meeting first thing this morning, and that's about it for actual plans. A few things to do around the house (aren't there always!). Walk Russell. Place a Walmart order. A real honest to goodness snail mail letter to write. That's about it.

Weekend weather should be a repeat of last week. High today of 92. High Friday of 94. High Saturday of 66. High Sunday of 59. Average high for today of 79.

My county, with less than 5% of the population of the state, had 45% of the new COVID-19 cases last week, and all of the deaths. We've had 14% of the total cases statewide, and 29% of the deaths. Now admittedly the numbers are still pretty low (only 85 deaths statewide, 3260 cases statewide), and only just over one-half of one percent of the population of this county have contracted the disease (confirmed and probable cases), but it's still - what? Discouraging? Scary? Annoying? Puzzling? All of the above?

Anyway, have a great day, enjoy the beauty around you, wash your hands, and don't be a COVIDiot!
