I can't get into the New York Times. They say I've had all the freebies I get from them. :-D Not the first time they've told me that, which is odd because they aren't a site I read articles from very often. But I don't recognize the face, so probably new.

Was looking for some new exercises to try this month and came across this site:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=6H8wUwWxSAY

I've been putting my head the whole way back to do chin and jowl exercises but like the way it's done on this last exercise much better. Don't have to worry I'm putting to much stress on my neck.

When I received the sparkmail that this team might be closing, I thought I better get my butt in gear and start posting. I've been doing the exercises on my commute to work and they do make a difference. I now see some of you use the Face Yoga Method, so I need to look that up.

Well, I hope the team continues and emoticon Lise for providing the leadership all these years!

I am saddened beyond words to learn of the departure from this life of our sister Dorothy. At the same time, I rejoice with & for Dorothy, as she experiences the wonders of being in the very presence of our Lord God Almighty, our Lord Jesus, & Holy Spirit. I rejoice, too, that Dorothy is now reunited with her beloved son & other loved ones, who had gone on to Heaven before our Creator called His cherished daughter home.

Please, each time Holy Spirit brings Dorothy's beloved Barry to mind, lift him in prayer, as the Lord walks him through the grief process.

God truly blessed me in allowing my life to touch with Dorothy through Sparkpeople & for that I am forever thankful.

It is with a saddened heart that I inform you that Dorothy (aka ROZEEROZ1) has passed away. Here's the tribute given by one of her friends JUDITH316 who kindly included all of Dorothy's friends.

Quote

Good Afternoon My Friends,

Friends of Dorothy (ROZEEROZ1)

With a Sad and Heavy-Weeping Heart bring news of our beloved Spark Friend and Sister's promotion to Glory. Heaven has received another precious "saint" sister and friend in Christ. Dorothy Johnson passed away to her eternal home Saturday August 24, 2014. She is now free from all pain and suffering and now has been rewarded with a brand new body and is now walking the streets of Glory, walking Hand in Hand with Jesus and has bow received her Heavenly Crown and is living in the Mansion that God has prepared for her.

Dorothy has finished the race well, she fought the fight, she has now been promoted to her eternal rest, she was a faithful servant, daughter of the Lord, the most High, Jesus has welcomed her with open arms speaking, Well done good and faithful servant, you were faithful in much, enter in to the Joy of your Lord!

Dorothy will always be remembered, she has been a good friend for the past 4 years. 2 years ago I visited her and her husband when I stopped off in Winnipeg on my Canada Wide Train Trip. At that time I met another Spark friend who Barry and Dorothy brought with them. I am so thankful God brought me 3 beautiful friend's on Spark that I had the pleasure to meet in person and get to know...Sadly I had another trip planned within the year and was planning to meet up with Darlene, Dorothy and Barry, the trip will still be done but I won't see Dorothy here but know I will meet her in Heaven when it is my turn to be home with Jesus.

I encourage you to write your condolences and share your memories on Dorothy's page as it can be shared with Barry and her family.

In Loving Memory of Dorothy, ROZEEROZ1 my Spark Friend of 5 years

I first met Dorothy in August of 2010 when she introduced herself to me shortly after I joined Spark. We met in person both in September and in October of 2012 at the Forks in Winnipeg. I was on a Canada Wide Train Trip that stated in Vancouver and ended in Toronto. From there I travelled by car all over Southern Ontario.

One of many highlights was first meeting Dorothy and Barry as I was travelling to Toronto, I had a stop-over of 3 hours at the Winnipeg Train Station late at night. They met me and we sat over tea talking and sharing, before we left to re-board the train Dorothy handed me 2 bags of fresh green grapes for both me and a friend I was travelling with. Inside the bag was a beautiful handwritten note. That was one of many more thoughtful and caring acts of kindness Dorothy did for me.

When I came back home to Vancouver I had another stop-over In Winnipeg for 3 +hours. Dorothy and Barry surprised me with bringing another special friend, Darlene to meet me, what a blessing, we sat over brunch in the Forks and had great fellowship with each other. They took us all over the Forks and gave us quite a tour of Winnipeg, a special day I will always remember.

For the past 4 years Dorothy has supported me with personal telephone calls, cards and acts of kindness always a word of encouragement on our Teams and my Spark page and cheered me on with prayer and with her friendship.

I thank God I met Dorothy and Barry who were two beautiful friend's who were always there for me as they were to so many of her dear Spark Friend's who lived nearby and faraway .

Thank you Dorothy and Barry for your many kindnesses and for being my Valued Friend in Christ...

Matthew 25:21 in part

‘Well done, good and faithful servant....Enter into the joy of your lord.’

Revelation 2:10 in part

Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

Psalm 116:15

Precious in the sight of the Lord
Is the death of His saints.

I have been doing my exercises regularly, although not daily, and already I see a difference in the jowls. The only time I would go under the knife is if I have the misfortune to have something happen to my face (accident, burn, etc.) but by the Grace of God, this will not happen. I believe in doing everything 'naturally'. I don't necessarily want to look like a 35 y.o. when I'm in my 60s or 70s. I just want to look as good as I can with what I have.

Seems we can't get away from the wrinkles without going under the knife. Personally, I'll keep the wrinkles. Glad to have back.

Hi Everyone!

I'm back to my facial exercises. Shoot, our faces are the first thing people see, so I'm recommitting to do them everyday. I'm also been using coconut oil as a moisturizer and when having a skin check last month, the dermatologist commented how smooth my skin was. I'm still wrinkling but at least my skin is smooth. :)

Have a wonderful day all!

Like most exercises, you won't see the results immediately but if you stick with it there can be a real change. You might want to take a "before" photo (a real close up) and take another in a month to compare. I do my eye exercises with my face exercises. That way I don't forget either of them.

This team intrigues me --- off & on, for years, I have done a couple of facial exercises that I have both seen & felt the benefits of.

I am looking forward to checking out what is on offer with this team.

God bless!

When doing the WOW exercises for my face, I feel it working for me. This week, because I had not done any facial exercises for a while, my neck muscles were aching. It just goes to show that these exercises WORK!

Dear Team Members,

I sure am happy to be back online. Wow, I've 3 days in a row as being online! For the last several months, this was an impossibility for me.

This month, I will be definitely more online.

You probably want to do this sitting down. Open your mouth wide, gently drop you head back so you're looking at the ceiling and slowly close you mouth so you're bottom teeth come over your top teeth, then open it and close again. I do 30 reps. Also just sit up straight and tighten all the muscles in your neck for 20 seconds a few times. These firm the muscles. I don't know of any way to firm the loose skin.

I got a soft toothbrush and I certainly do not press very hard because my skin is quite sensitive. I try to brush my face twice a week.

BeBarb Great idea , I will try that avocado suggestion, I have been brushing my face but not as hard as the lady in the video lol , Her's was bright red ! I just gently go over it , it has made my face smoother , I did it three days in a row then decided to give it a rest for a day , Tonight I will try it again but as I said I do it very carefully not bearing down to hard !

I can't get past the idea that my skin might be too fragile for brushing. I don't use clay masks because I don't want to dry my skin out and make it more fragile, instead I use the bit of flesh left in the peel of an avocado after I've taken out the fruit for a mask. I have been using a warm wet washcloth to stimulate the skin on my face, but very gently.

I really enjoy doing the yoga exercises with Annaliese and Fumiko. What do you enjoy the most?

On a weekly basis, I try to brush my face as indicated in the video. Hopefully, I will see a difference sooner than later. Of late, I have been neglecting my face a little bit too much. Therefore, I am trying to catch up to some of you.

I think it might be a good if you use a toothbrush with a ridge down the middle to trim it first might make it softer

I tried the toothbrush cleaning last night. It felt good. I do have a dry brush here also and will look at the dry brushing for the face and see what it feels like.

The toothbrush face brushing looks like it would work better for me than the dry brushing. It might actually help the moisturizer get into the skin while defoliating. I may try that, at least on my nose, around my lips, and on my chin. I tend to get black head there.

BEBARB! Yay for cheek bones!

I've been hit and miss the last couple of weeks too with my facial exercises, so I decided it is now the first thing I do when I logon to Sparks. Hope it works! I have been dry brushing my face daily in Nov. and now have a pretty nice glow from it. It doesn't seem to be hurting so I'll keep going with it.

Also here's a video with brushing a face with a toothbrush. The girl is in her 40's but talks about seeing a visible difference in her mothers skin who has been using the technique for a year. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijEQ1DkGKXA

Watching that woman brush her face gave me goose bumps. It's hard to believe brushing doesn't leave your skin more dry and brittle. Maybe it seems that way to me because mine's still a bit thin dry from the corticosteroids and other drugs I was on, but I can't even use a warn wash cloth on my face more than every other day without causing redness and itching.

I'm starting to see cheek bones again!

I was in a health food store once with my sisters. The naturopath there mentioned that we all needed to dry brush our faces so I guess this can be done. Like you I've done my body but not my face. I'm sure that it would do a lot of good. I may try this!

I personally wish that I could take her driving privileges away but living in suburbia it's hard without a car. I'm hoping she takes this lesson to heart and really starts driving in the moment and become aware of everything around her.

Oh dear! I hope your daughter will get over it soon. Unfortunately, these sort of things DO happen even to those who have had experience. She does have to get behind the wheel again very soon... Poor thing!

I'm happy that you are doing your exercises so regularly. Like you, I forgot to do mine yesterday but will do them tonight.

Shoot! I missed yesterdays facial exercises. My dd hit a parked car, she's a new driver, and I had to go calm her down. I thought I would do the exercises later but never did. Oh well, I did them first thing this morning so 2/3 ain't bad. :)

I just finished my facial exercises and my face feels warm and tingling all over. Now to clean up my diet and start ST. I'm okay with cardio but I drag my feet with the ST and I need it desperately!

Shoot! I also need to restart my yoga practice.

November is just going to be lovely! emoticon

I do 15-20 minutes most days Yiche12. Ha, thanks for the compliment.
I'm off on vacation until 20 June so am turning my page off tomorrow... see my blog.

I hope everyone stays motivated and healthy and continues to do their facial exercising. It is so very important ... more important than most people realise. Makes you look good, and feel good, so why not do it!!

My, my, my, you are looking great Mel. This is a quiet chat room but it's there for the members to use at will. You know something, although I am doing 'some' of the facial exercises 'sometimes', just looking at you has encouraged me to do this all of the time. It's shameful on me to declare this but it's the truth. emoticon Keep up the great work! emoticon

Well 'any' exercise must be beneficial but I found that after 1 week of doing the T-Tapp Basic Workout my hip pain disappeared AND hasn't returned. Plus my left knee pain went completely, but it still comes and goes.

Teresa Tapp professes that one can lose up to 2 sizes in 4 weeks with the 15 minute workout, but THAT hasn't worked for me, lol. But I enjoy it as it doesn't bounce me around and no equipment is needed. I have 8 of her DvDs now but there are free examples by video on the T-Tapp website and loads of information. Before my dvds and book arrived, I simply used the videos that were on the t-tapp website.

I guess everyone must come to their own conclusions whether they like it or not ... it's just so very different is all. Hope that helps.

Hi Yiche, T-Tapp is an exercise with a difference.
Find it at: www.t-tapp.com is the easiest way as is too hard to explain.

I've put on 5 pounds in the past month, mainly due to new medication (well I hope) although I've also changed my daily workout and started including T-Tapp. Maybe I'm just eating too much too, bwah !!

I'm OK if there's ordinary chocolate around, but I've a special weakness for Easter egg chocolate. It's just different and I love it.

Minnie - nice of you to go look at the vlog. You are the only one who didn't know how to click on the arrow, lol. There are lots of people who have extremely slow connections and all have emailed me and said the vlog loaded fast for them. They were surprised that it was so good with their slow stuff. Anyway, nice try thanks again. Maybe another time you will be able to enjoy.

Did my faces today as I usually do in the sauna. It's a part of life these days.

Have a great day everyone. It's a wet Autumn day here. emoticon

Good for you MOTLEM! I cannot say the same for me while I was on holidays but I sure plan on restarting again. Do you think the challenges would help?
